I love the gardens, the place is so neat and clean, The grass is so green, it's well maintained👌🏾 it's a beautiful place, good for summer times💃 but i hear that you must own a penthouse in order to get access to the place, but i have seen some people who are not owning houses there visiting and having fun. Any ways, it's top notch👌🏾

The out door area is stunning However the room they gave us was absolutely horrible! Doors couldn't close, the bathroom was in a bad state, the AC wasn't working, the fridge was in such a horrible condition as well. I didn't feel like I got what I paid for. Wasn't worth it at all. To top it off when trying to call the reception they don't even answer the phones, eventually just lived it out. Lucky it was just for 1 night

This place has such great possibilities, but the service is abysmal. The rooms are nice and spacious with plenty of cupboard space. You have a beautiful view of the sunrise over the river every morning. It's really breathtaking. The food is horrible, and they don't allow outside food on the premises. The breakfast was okay. I just hated how they added sweet chilli to everything . It was honestly disgusting. They also didn't have a lot of variety with the menu. The staff is incompetent. It's like they went to different trainings. There is no consistency with regard to the info and services provided.

Had lunch and and musical entertainment that Gerda Stander provided with her beautiful saxophone 🎷 Absolutely loved it!! The food, service - excellent with a beautiful view of the Vaal river flowing past nearly on the doorstep of the Hotel. Will be going back for the dinner theater that is held on Friday nights. Can't wait!!

Main reason for the rating is the amazing view. Friendly staff, food is very much fastfood inspired and bit more refinement would bring the place up. The owners are trying which you can see.

This was just a one night stay but after seeing the hotel and facilities, I would definitely go again. The room was spacious, well equipped with a huge bed. All the rooms look out onto a lovely view of the pool, well maintained gardens and the Vaal River. The breakfast buffet adhered to covid restrictions and was delicious...the omelet was amazing. Staff were helpful and friendly. A great experience!

The staff at reception are not friendly and professional 🙄. It seemed as if they're doing guests a favor by serving you or giving information. I was really disappointed. The rooms are dirty, for example windows, wardrobe and basins.. Same goes for the restaurant, dirty windows and cigarette but burnt table clothes. The breakfast was great, compliments to all the chefs there. Waiters just busy chatting loud amongst themselves not interested in serving. However, the waiter for the evening on Friday night was excellent. There's so much they can offer but a lot of work required and proper training and management. Thanks

What a spectacular view. The building itself has a lot of potential. This place just needs an investor to revamp the venue. It's still very dated. But it's just four walls, and with a clear vision and some money, this can be a Gem 💎 agian.

Lunch in the lovely restaurant with a beautiful view of the Vaal river, good service and a varied menu. A highly pleasant afternoon. The staff are lovely, the restaurant has an old fashioned ambience. The food was great, and certainly plentiful including the deserts. My only gripe would be the shortage of sugar free options in the soft drinks menu.

The place is a bit run down, the service is sometimes extremely slow, and other times, okay. Never great. The food is good and reasonably priced. Great location, if they get their act together, it will be a destination.

Loved the service and friendliness of staff. They truly are the biggest asset of the Hotel. The building needs lots of TLC. En-suite bathroom's showerhead and tiles are not up to standard. The lift inside the building is about 2 years away from being scary. I did notice that there are renovations being done, can't wait for it to be finished. The outside amenities are another story altogether. (Riverside) Clean swimming pool, neat all over. Thank you.

I revisited for the first time in years, just popped in for a drink and the view and that did not disappoint. The view is breath taking, the grounds, pool area and bar area is spectacular. I did not sleep over so have no idea what the rooms are like but the hotel itself is still very well presented and on a beautiful day watching the sunset on the Vaal River, I could not have thought of a better way to end the day.

Great and one of the nicest areas in the Vaal. Decently priced and close enough to get around the Vaal area without issues. The roads in the Vaal are terrible though. The hotel has what you need and the view is the nicest part about it

The delivery did not match the product we purchase. Smaller room. Fewer amenities. No buffet. Not enough towels, even at reception. Toilet didn't work Bath didnt drain. Air con didn't work. Waiters in the restaurant refused us water, claiming we could only have water if we pay for it. Management rectified, but ridiculously poor service from the waiters that is in contravention of the liquor act. Would strongly recommend avoiding.

The hotel needs to improve the service offering particularly in the conference centre. Tea and coffee stations are removed rather than allowing for delegates to have access to them for the duration of their meetings. The location is beautiful and the staff are friendly but I think there are areas that can be improved. Conference guests were also told they could not sit outside and eat which was odd.

A group of 15 of us went on a boat cruise, which was lovely. We dined there afterwards, and both the service and all the food were awful. They messed up almost every single meal and all meals arrived at different times, and totally cold. The waitress was incompetent and the manager didn't want to assist. Definitely won't eat there again.

Beautiful setting, one feels like they are on the French Riviera. Loved the toasted sandwich, wouldn’t recommend the tramazini

The place is great and all...I regretfully decline the 5 star I gave them,I was all happy n about but then an incident occurred,my money was stolen just when I went out for breakfast and i came back to find my money gone. I found cleaners in the room and I asked and she started being defensive that I'm insulting her I'm accusing her but I ddnt I just asked if she saw anything.....this is a nice place n all but please don't leave your handbag m wallet in their room rather lock in the safe.

Enjoyed our stay . Great environment with beautiful views. Excellent service and the food was well prepared and delicious, we specifically loved our breakfast time. We had an opportunity to do boat rides the view was beautiful.

So sad the boat cruise wasn’t available when we visited otherwise very beautiful, quite and serene hotel facing the Vaal- great views of the surrounding nature! Friendly staff!

Tap water is undrinkable and we had quite a few people get sick while there. Beds are quite hard and pillows too soft. Air-conditioning works better now that renovations have been done. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful.

We went to the resort on a workshop weekend. Clean rooms and well maintained facilities - the location on the Vaal River is unfortunately affected by pollution (unpleasant smells, unable to drink the water in the taps) but aside from that we had a great time with our group. You cannot bring external food/drinks into the hotel, they want you to only buy at the bar/restaurant - not a game changer, but inconvenient if you want to bring snacks which are not available for purchase.

I had a pleasure of visiting the Resort. The food was mouth watering and superb. Walm welcome from staff. The cheff was also friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to be there again soon. Not forgetting sweet sweet music. I really enjoyed myself. Keep on the good work 👍👐

The rooms need to be upgraded, they are a bit outdated. The lift very scary due it's old and very small. The room doors locks need to be upgraded, as currently they looking you living in a background in a township. The ironing area has one iron. They should consider having an iron for each as sometimes using the ironing area causes a delay when they are too many wanting to use the iron. Other than that, the food was amazing, there service was amazing and the music performance was also amazing.

Beautiful gardens. We enjoyed the river cruise with the cash bar! Although we are not golfers, we enjoyed the chip-and-put course at the country club next door a lot. The restaurant is reasonably priced, and the food was great. The rooms are not full self catering. In reality this means you should not plan on cooking in your room.

Great conference venue. Good catering. Also offered lunch packs on days when buffet lunch took too long. Conference room lighting was a bit dull. Good climate control in rooms. Clean bathrooms. Pleasant staff.

The place was awesome but there us not much to do, especially children have no real entertainment. It is difficult to keep young ones on the room. You have to find activities outside the resort. For adults, it's awesome for a weekend to relax, recharge.

Lovely hotel in an immaculate area, the views are awesome and the boat rides are awesome. Beautiful hotel although they could do away with some of the old finishes and get something new and exciting couches. Had a great stay the stuff is awesome too.

First day we just went in for drinks, and to see the place. It was so stunning. The place has amazing views. There was live music at the bar and the guy who was singing, wow! Multitalented and great sense of humor. We enjoyed our virgin cocktails. We tried going back for Sunday lunch the next day but the service was so terrible and we ended up leaving without enjoying the acclaimed Sunday lunch, because time was not on our side. We only managed to get drinks. Our waiter went away for about 45mins without taking our orders.

What a beautiful place, lovely view of the beautiful gardens, swimming pool and breath taking view of the vaal dam. The buffet is nice as well although the variety of options can be added to cater for more people. Otherwise my favorite hangout spot.

Went on a day and I must say the staff really made us feel welcome especially the boat cruise staff. From purchasing our ticket to boarding everyone was really friendly and attended to everyone on their needs. I give 10 stars to the cruise staff. Thank you guys

We attended a business networking "meet and greet". On arrival we expected to be issued with name tags displaying our name and business. This was an oversight on the organizers part. It makes it so much easier to approach someone if you can see what business they represent. The service was mediocre as there were not many staff to assist. However, the snacks were absolutely delicious and the setting was beautiful. Overall a nice experience.

Stayed here with my family for a weekend - so fabulous! I now use it for business trips as well. Spacious rooms, very quiet, scenic windows overlooking the vaalriver. Safe parking and located near the main city centre. Great poolarea. Delicious food from the restaurant. Extremely friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommended.

We used the spa side but whilst waiting for our booking time we went to the restaurant. The chef refused to have the waiter serve us scones that was already there because according to him breakfast was over at just pass 11am. I understand that they needed to prepare for lunch service but honestly it wouldn't have killed them to serve us a scone that was already made! Our waiter on the other hand was lovely The bathrooms were horrendously dirty so I dont even want to imagine what the rooms look like

We went for the 11am leisure cruise. The cruise itself is nice however we were unlucky to be part of a party cruise. I think the owners must inform you if there is a party cruise because then it's not a leisure cruise. Apart from that, the drinks and snacks ate reasonably priced and nice to see the gardens and golf course whilst on the cruise.

Beautiful, ambience was fantastic. Great live music, clean, friendly staff. Great food just menu very limited no lamb options. View was awesome. Would love to go back there.

Amazing and specious rooms, very clean and neat. Hot water in the shower. The breakfast is really filling and delicious. Very welcoming and friendly stuff. Definitely must visit its great for families or just a couple looking for some quality time. Most importantly is affordable but your get the experience of a 5start hotel if not more.

The service my partner and I received from the time of our arrival at the reception was welcoming. Checked in and the room was very clean and neat. The food was excellent, had a friendly waiter who was checked on us during our dinner in the restaurant. Having to wake up to the view of the river was amazing. We absolutely had a beautiful weekend.

  • 2/5 Sapula K. 1 year ago on Google
Had a chilled weekend with the family BUT......The rooms need a serious upgrade, the carpets are filthy. I couldn't let my 10 month old crawl anywhere. She was on the bed the whole time. This rule of no food is just exaggerated, we have kids who want to snack at weird hours and there's not a microwave in sight. The rooms are a bit on the disgusting side, they seriously need better cleaning. Only the outside areas are decent, the pools are clean , the lawn is well kept. The private boat cruise was lovely.

Location, Location, Location. I always enjoy coming here. Beautiful and tranquil setting on the Vaal. A bit faded here and there but still worth a five star rating. Staff are friendly and courteous. Food is always good.

  • 1/5 nondumiso g. 1 year ago on Google
The service was horrible & when we told the “manager” we were told we should be used to bad service because we’re South Africans. Spider webs everywhere you go & they seriously need training on what cleanliness looks like & what it is. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy👎🏾👎🏾
