There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. From the booking inquiries right to our stay. Thank Zandi for the assistance in everything. Thank you to all the staff that keep the place clean. Our iids loved the heated pool, the river, game drive. They keep explaining and marveling that they saw a real Ligar.

Went as a day visitor. Staff were friendly. Place was clean. Though it was loadshedding at the time, we were not too affected. Kids had a blast. We will definitely camp there soon. No warm pool but maybe there were issues. Lots to do. Take cash since the shop doesn't do cards. If you have a gazebo, it's a good going along if the benches are taken. Went as a camper a few days later. Much quieter in the week. Enjoyed the jacuzzi. Recommend a try especially on colder evenings. Didn't get to do the game drive since there wasn't enough people and we missed one due to not being told earlier. Recommend you ask at check in for booking. Take lots of insecticide if by the river. Gnats swarmed our tent but they don't bite. Had to buy more extension cords since plug point was 30m away. No tap nearby either. Not all camp sites have this issue. Bathroom closest to us had no shower for ladies but there are others further away. Don't forget your bath tub plug else bath is not usable. Family ablution is a nice idea and is clean. Overall a lovely stay.

First of all. William, you are the best. He was so helpfull. What a guy. Secondly, what a neat, well looked after area. Space, cleanliness, variety - these are all words that go hand-in-hand with our experience. Well done.

I have seen some negative comments about Klipdraai Caravan Park and almost cancelled my trip BUT that would have been a big mistake. Klipdraai was an awesome experience. The staff, we only met William at the front desk who was the most friendly, welcoming and helpful. Actually all the people at the park was super nice. We had a fellow camper help us with some electricity challenges on the first night....I thought he was part of the staff. Thank Your Sir. The facilities are very well maintained...from the grounds to the pools to the ablutions. I was pleasantly surprised. Will be back soon for sure.

Wow! Friendly staff, more than enough camping stands to choose from. Nice swimming pools and great entertainment for the kids - jungle gyms, putt putt, space to ride their bikes, inflatable water slides etc. Lion tour is optional, but definitely worth the money. Bathrooms are neat and tidy. Home away from home whilst still being close to home. Will definitely return soon!

What a day at a beautiful camping site. Klipdraai had activities to do for the kids, slip and slide and putt putt that the older generation enjoyed. Laughter could be heard all over the camping site as well as the day visitor area! Ablution facilities were well kept and clean. Had a tour where they kept the wildlife and we could see lions, tigers, cubs, leopards and much more. Was truly a great experience and value for money!

I am so shocked to read about all the negative and badly comments.. I was there 2 times, 2017 and again 2019, and the place was so well maintained. Clean. The personnel was friendly and making rounds to check-in on guests and see if all are happy. There use to be a Tannie Flippie and her husband working there. They was kind and helpful. What happened to your place?

I have always liked Klipdraai. But I must say the new owner is awesome. He is friendly and always around to have a chat with his guests...thanks for an awesome long weekend with our camp group.

Beautiful camping place with lots to do for children, but a big disappointment during festive season with day visitors messing up bathrooms and swimming pools. Campers privicy should be respected and kept separated from day visitors like Aasvoelkrans and Wawielpark.

Beautiful well maintained park.. Very clean... Nice cleaning staff.... Pity the manager was so abrupt and had a take it or leave it attitude making it very unwelcoming that has ensured i wont easily return

Very clean and lovely camp site just a pity that the day visitors taking over the caravan camp site. We are camping there for years. We are so happy that day visitors are no longer allowed after the 10th of December. We will definately support you guys in the future.

The amount of flies at this resort are off the charts. Come prepared. No backup power are provided during Loadshedding. No power also means no water is available anywhere in the camp during Loadshedding. No water in ablutions, nor anywhere else. Hot water pool was cold. Heatpump only has a single outlet into the pool, Therefore very inefficient system. Braais can be serviced more often. They were only services (cleaned out) once during out 10 day stay. Shower heads can be replaced as they are falling apart. We paid R390 per day for Dec β€˜22.

Nice facilities, well kept and maintained, and a lot to do for the kids. My biggest issue is that there is no enforcement done on noise, campers and visitors carry on with very loud music and shouting until very late, and there is nothing done to stop that

Not a pleasant experience. The staff in the office is rude. They do not reply to missed calls or messages. Hot water swimming pool was off the time we stayed there. Shop had no card facilities cash only. The chess set and games room was closed due to a "Function". We feel the basics were not catered for that they advertise on the website. Taking peoples money and not supply whats advertised should carry a much harsher sentence that this bad review.

We had a great time camping. Ablution blocks are cleaned regularly. Remember to bring your own toilet paper. You will be supplied with one roll at the gate. Jungle gyms and trampolines were love by the kids. Loved the little horses and the wildlife around the camp.

Consider putting paper hand towels in the ablution blocks to dry your hands after washing... otherwise everything is very organized, need and beautiful.

Very nice place to go for a holiday with your family especially if you have children. The animals at the petting zoo by the entrance are too cute and they love attention. There are many fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. The bathroom facilities are very neat and are cleaned multiple times daily. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun place to go to for a vacation without making your pockets hurt.

The place is absolutely amazing, all the other campers are so friendly, the staff is friendly, the place is just amazing for a family outing. And soooo inexpensive, R100 per person per day, R50 per child under 12 or just camp for the night and pay R550. I would do this any day without think about it again and again. AMAZING!

No warm swimming pool as seen on adverts. Stayed for 4 days in December 22 and heard a lot of this so called Main attraction "warm" swimming pool, but found the cold pool. Kids are so disappointed that they never want to return to Klipdraai ever.

Loadshedding from 16H00 to 21H30 with no back-up generator....we did not expect this to happen both the nights we spend there. This is the time to prepare food and taking showers.

Shocking, management such a bad disrespectful attitude towards its guests! I am sitting without water for 24 hours and apparently I am not the only 1. I also booked a game drive on Friday for Saturday afternoon, they just left at 3.30pm. Didn't care. The lady on Friday said that the game drive is better at 4pm cause thats when the animals comes out. When I said something about my booking, I was told that I should come on Sunday. Its better for them. I have a 7 year old with me that wanted to use the jumping castle, thats why I booked here. For it not to work. With no water, I wanted some from the shop just to find out they don't sell water, just by the way. Why pay, if this is how you are handled? Im very disappointed. When I said something on FB, I was blocked, without any curtsey reply or phone call.

A hidden diamond, very nice experience and will definitely visit again very soon. Close to Johannesburg, lush green camping area, good braai facilities, friendly service, shop is brilliant and food delicious. Only slight letdowns was no-one to assist with setting up tents, the hot water pool was slightly warmer than the cold pool and no under 18's allowed in the jacuzzis, I can understand that children might damage it but when we go camping we don't take a babysitter with us so if you have kids you cant use the jacuzzi, I am more than happy to take responsibility for my child if we use it. But overall a very nice place and will be our regular camping spot going forward.

Visited in March 2022 and had an excellent weekend - 3/4 stars. Went now for a weekend in December 2023 and it was my worst camp experience ever!!! The noise levels of a large group of alcoholic guests was allowed to go on to 2 am for 2 nights in a row. Also they booked our stands on a slope right under a floodlight next to the bathrooms - in spite of the fact that the place was mostly dead quiet. Won't ever return.

Excellent day out at the Day Visitors section. Thoroughly enjoyed being able to swim in this heat, but more so enjoy the families and kiddies and friends all being able to get together and laugh and swim and eat. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

One of those little hidden treasures where you don't expect it. Friendly staff, extremely clean facilities and well looked after camping ground. Day visitors or just a quick weekend getaway. Well worth travel if coming from afar. Grounds are neat and kept up.

Totally rediculous high tarrif for utterly mediocre camping site. Noisy construction at the pool and still had to pay R450 per night.... Midweek with a totally empty park. What for? Not even hand paper towels or toilet paper in the bathrooms. Couldn't even make use of the heated pool.... Sorry oom Gielie but it's clear that you don't need the pensioner's business

Klipdraai was beautiful, well maintained, clean. My only criticism is that none of the jacuzzis were available the entire weekend and the warm pool could have been warmed up by a few degrees considering the weather.

  • 2/5 Karen S. 3 years ago on Google
Very neat, bathrooms always clean. Unfortunately to strict. Children not allowed to play music and that is at 13:00 in the day! If the music is to load at night and disturbing people it's another story. And the stands are definately to small.

Most of the weekend there were no hot water in the ablution we used. The water pressure in the womans portion of the ablution were not up to standard. And the sanitising can be upgraded.

We were at the wedding venue, stayed in a chalet. What a beautiful place. Garden is awesome and very neat. As we were there foe a wedding, dressing was fine, but there were no mirrors to do your hair. That is the only fault I could find in the 2 days we were there. Do yourself a favor and visit this awesome place!
