This is not a good school for black people .I attempted to go here five years ago and that's how long it took me to write this review after going there and being traumatized .I wish I was exaggerating but they seem to be more lenient to the majority students who are white. While there I would get knit pick with to the point where even my classmates noticed and felt bad for me .Even accused me of saying things that the whole class heard someone else say and tried to reprimand me for it! It's 2018 now hopefully they have gotten better but if your white this may be a good school for you to attend. I done things that weren't successful and that I can be held accountable for but like I said they were more supportive of the majority students .

I attended this school in September 2002 for a few months, right out of high school, and it was such a bad experience! It's been 17 years and as I can tell by the reviews, not much has changed. I was one of the youngest students and all I did was get picked on by the teachers. They told me I couldn't wear my hair in a ponytail, so I took it out and just wore it down and waited for Halloween when they said we could dress up. So I put my hair back in a ponytail, the one teacher of course asks me why I have it like that when she told me to take it out before. I told her I was dressing up as MYSELF for Halloween!....Then they said I had to paint my nails, but I couldn't because I worked at a pizza place and we were not allowed to paint our nails because we worked with food. The teachers talked more about their lives and irrelevant topics that didn't even have to do with what we were there supposed to be learning. There were three other girls there that were really nice, so I would hang around them more, and one day the other girls were absent and one of the teachers tried being "funny" and asked me where the other "angels" were, in front of the whole class. And they called me anti-social all the damn time. It was just embarrassing! THEN whenever the teachers wanted to take their cigarette breaks, WHICH was every 15 minutes, they would make the whole class leave the building and lock the doors, so everyone sat outside and froze while they puffed away. It took me 35-40 min just to drive to the school, so I'd get up, shower and get out the door and the LAST STRAW was when I showed up on morning and the teacher asked me why my hair was still wet and why I didn't "do" my hair. I told her from showering and she told me to go into the nasty bathroom, dry my hair under the hand dryer (she really said that) and do something with my hair or that I can just leave. So I went in there and just put some clips in my hair, holding the sides up, came out and she said it wasn't good enough and told me to go fix it again. And then at that point I said I was leaving and that's just what I did. I came in the next day to speak with the owner and she tells me I need to come back when I "grow up" and I said "yeah, right, how about I come back when this is a real school". We're the ones paying them to get the education of cosmetology. AND I DIDN'T NEED THAT TRASHY SCHOOL ANYWAYS BECAUSE I LEARNED HOW TO STYLE AND CUT HAIR ON MY OWN. HAVING A PASSION FOR CUTTING AND STYLING HAIR, ALONG WITH GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE CAN TEACH YOU MUCH MORE THAN THEY EVER DID! I'm glad I finally got to get my horrible experience with this school off my chest!

The place is filthy. The bathrooms were out for an entire month and the students were made to clock out and use the bathroom at the gas station. The owner will scam you. Many students have been kicked out after reaching 900 hours because then you have to pay the tuition in full. Teachers are rude and unprofessional. They embarrass students in front of clients. Go to tricoci instead if you want a quality education. Do not trust anything Don Robert's tells you.

I attended here a couple years ago because it was the only local place that had a manicure program. I desperately wanted to learn acrylic and was promised by the owner and her workers that I’d be learning acrylic. Then after the 30 days when dropping with a full refund is no longer allowed I was told we won’t be learning acrylic because the owner doesn’t like the smell and because “acrylic is on its way out the door” surprise surprise acrylic usage is very much still popular. The nail instructor was great i loved her, but the course was very basic. I paid over $11,000 for information nail techs are giving away for free on YouTube. And I also found out about another beauty school offering the manicure program in Hammond for $1,500. And cosmetology for $4000. Save yourself the stress of attending here the owner is a rude, self-centered money hungry person and could care less if you succeed or not.

My friend (who I recommended the school to) was treated so badly here by a Teacher and was discharged because a teacher was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional towards her! I would not recommend to anyone else to attend here as they cover each others backs and do NOT have the best interest at heart for their students. Almost seems like it’s just a check to them! THUMBS DOWN

Michael, who works at the front desk is very kind and friendly. The students are very well supervised, and it is a great place to “pamper yourself” at a very reasonable price! I especially enjoy ghe facials and other esthetic services, as well as manicures/ pedicures and hairstyles/ cuts!!😃

I have curly hair, this was the best haircut I've had. Abby gave my haircut and diffused my curls. No one has done such a good job on my curls. I would always have to go home and fix my curls. This time my hair was perfect! Love the cut and style. Great job! Will be going back.

Good place to get your hair done or spa treatment at reasonable prices. The students are well supervised and eager to do a good job.
