I was very surprised and impressed with this Arena and enjoyed the experience more than the Colosseum in Rome. It’s older than the Rome Colosseum, cheaper to get into and you can wander as long as you’d like inside to enjoy the remains of this almost 2000 year old site. Well worth the admission price. The ticket line was long but it’s worth the wait. I would love to come back and see a concert or show inside someday.

Really cool. They could definitely charge less for the experience as the 10 Euro seems a bit high for this self guided tour of the place. The arena is fully intact and the original seating is still there from ages ago. Many of the internal areas are blocked off . But your still free to walk and use practically all entrances to the arena inside. The view from the top is beautiful and a great photo opportunity. If your in Verona definitely pay this place a visit .

This was a very awesome experience, they were getting ready for a concert. You could just walk on in, I was able to walk around and check out the arena for free. I don’t know how often that happens but I lucked out and really enjoyed checking the place out. I would definitely recommend visiting this historic place if you get the chance.

A Night to Remember at Verona Arena Stepping into the Verona Arena is like taking a step back in time. This ancient Roman amphitheater, standing strong since the 1st Century AD, is a sight to see all on its own. It's huge, and you can just feel the history in the air. But when night falls, and Verdi’s Aida begins, it's something else entirely. Imagine this – hundreds of performers taking the stage in this gigantic, open-air venue. The Arena’s stone walls and the night sky are the backdrop to the epic love story unfolding before your eyes. The music is stirring, filling the entire space, making the experience even more emotional. The costumes, the sets, and the talent of the performers are top-notch, making you feel like you’ve been transported right to ancient Egypt. Experiencing Aida at the Verona Arena is something you've got to do at least once. It's an amazing combination of history and artistry, and seeing an opera here, under the stars, is something you’ll never forget. It’s a night filled with unbelievable music, powerful performances, and a unique atmosphere that you just can’t get anywhere else. In short, it’s just incredible.

I have a unforgettable day in Verona. You can easy find many pretty corners in Verona as exact the name this city called: love city. Arena di Verona is one of the most attractive place that you must visit. You would be surely surprised that how they can maintain this building for such a long time. Surrounding there are also many other great historical buildings. Come and enjoy the majestic historical space.

Beautiful and ancient town boasting the remains of a Roman amphitheatre reputedly slightly older than the one in Rome. Not to be missed are Juliet's (supposed) balcony and statue. Lovely quaint streets full of shops abound, as do restaurants and bars. Be prepared to do a lot of walking to see all the sights and items of interest in this incredibly historical place.

It's while looking at the arena you truly feel like being transported to ancient times. The building is magnificent and awe inspiring. The only "bad" (not truly bad, but for us as visitors) thing was that it was being prepared for an opera performance, which kind of takes the vibe away a bit. But of course, it's amazing it's still being used today and I wouldn't want it any other way. The queues are super long, so it's definitely worth it buying the ticket online or using the Verona card that allows you to skip the line.

Really enjoyed the visit. Booked tickets online in advance, which saved quite a queue on the day. Much is open including some of the inside walkways. Toilets at various places. It was interesting to learn about the history and also to see how it is used today 2000 years later for opera performances. Could sit and reflect for as long as we wished. Definitely the highlight of Verona.

Arena itself is quite old. Built in 30 AD, it was used for various festivals and circuses such as horse riding, theatrical performances, and such, with a capacity of about 30.000 attendees. Today, it stands in vary good shape, although being damaged by an earthquake in 1117, which greatly destroyed the arenas outer ring. 10€ ticket price is a bit too much. Half of that would be more appropriate, since there is not really much to see or do inside. If you plan on visiting other attractions, it would be good to buy Verona city pass for 20€ which also includes Arena. Climbing on the top rows offers a great view of the main city square.

I visited the arena this summer to see Aida. What an amazing experience! The arena itself is beautifully preserved. Depending on your seats, you may or may not have a cushion and/or seat back so keep that in mind - the opera is about 3 hours. Drinks are available for purchase. Attending the show as part of the summer opera was magical. Sitting in an ancient structure watching such great talent means there’s so much to take in. I would suggest to bring a hand fan to help with the heat. Enjoy!

Ancient monument built in 30 AD located in the heart of Verona. The arena is well preserved and its still being used for open air opera and concerts during the summer time and has capacity for over 20.000 people. Definitely a must see to enjoy the beautiful architecture.

(Translated by Google) Oh yes, the Arena in Verona should not be missed when traveling in northern Italy. We visited this building during the day and watched the AIDA performance the next evening. Both steps were highly recommended because of the mild summer weather. The flair that the Italians exude is also inspiring. All in all, a building that radiates history that should not be missed. Also recommended for children, if they are not too small.

I loved everything about Verona, beautiful little city. Great markets, good transport, warm and friendly atmosphere. Juliet's balcony has to be seen!! Lovely walks along the river and up the surrounding hills. Great city centre shopping. Friendly, patient residents.

A MUST from Verona roman history: getting to know its origins, some discussion on its pros and cons in terms of acoustics (it houses daily opera performances over the summer period). I found it interesting from an architectural point of view, it offers a privileged location, and there is a lot to look about, find out and discuss. Unfortunately, the grounds or actual floor of the arena is not visible during the opera season (seats are installed on top of it).

Can't miss landmark in Verona. Too bad we came here in May which is too early for the summer concert series inside the arena. Would've have been a cool experience for sure. But the structure is still pretty good photo opp.

This is one of the best conserved Roman amphitheatres, whose seating area is made up of 44 levels and can hold up to 22,000 spectators. It is still in use today and is internationally famous for the large-scale opera performance. You will feel at first that you are standing in front of Colosseum. Extremely beautiful. Went here few years back and hope to visit the place once again in near future.

Beautiful to look at from the outside - EUR 10 for entry is far too much given it's basically an empty bowl. I would have loved to have gone to an event to see it in use, but I'd recommend viewing from the outside only otherwise

Stunning both inside and out, the mere fact that one can still sit inside this historical place from 2000 years ago is alone quite amazing, but the acoustics still astound and wonderful to watch an opera in. Tickets do sell out fast so book early (their website isn’t great) but you can always go and inquire about last minute tix at their office located nears entrances 15 (if I remember correctly) and don’t forget to buy or rent stadium seating from the vendors directly outside, otherwise it’s a few hours of hard seating on the back side!

(Translated by Google) Icon of Verona like Romeo and Juliet, the Arena is a Roman amphitheater dating back to the 1st century. Very well preserved, this "ancient stadium" is still used today for events, exhibitions and concerts, as well as for the very important opera season (since 1913). Also beautiful is the setting that is traditionally done during the Christmas period with the crib and the big comet.

For quick access so you don’t have to get a ticket there i would recommend getting the Verona Card (this also allows you access to other historic sites, museums, castles etc. in Verona). Beautiful 🤩 we visited the arena in the morning (best time to visit)! And we were lucky enough to see Carmen opera in the evening!

Went to the arena on a weekday, it was not that busy at all. I recommend to take the Verona pass for 20€ to skip the queue. The Verona pass is also applicable for the other attractions within Verona. The Arena is well maintained and the culture of this monument is explained well with pictures and audio information. You are allowed to enter the Arena and sit wherever you want to check the view from different seating classes. When I was there they were preparing the Arena for a Opera in June. So we also got to see some of the settings and backdrops of the opera.

The site itself is super impressive and thinking of how long ago it was created, boggles the mind! Walking the tunnels, the surrounding circle and more impressively sitting in the stands and looking down at where the concert/opera stage is - you are swept away with ideas of what this place was used for years and years ago. Climbing the stands to get to the top allows you an incredible view of the city as well. The 10€ fee is a bit high for what you get but it is an important part of history. Especially knowing this was built before the Arena in Rome. Tickets can be purchased ahead of your visit. Sir Elton John played here in 2022. An incredible show. But apparently he was disgusted with the accommodations when it came to the bathroom. Maybe the Romans should have thought more of the future night's visit 2000 years in the future. Haha.

Beautifull, great piece of history. Worth visiting just like that ...just to see it :) Being there during the Opera would of course be completely different level of experience...maybe once :) Anyway 10 eur for adult is fair price ...and kids paid only 1 euro...being with us. I recommend to buy tickets online...saves you some time ;-)

The Verona Arena is a true architectural marvel that captures the essence of history and grandeur. This well-preserved Roman amphitheater, crafted from stunning pink and white limestone, leaves visitors in awe with its colossal structure, graceful arches, and tiered seating. What sets it apart is its vibrant use as a venue for live performances, showcasing its legendary acoustics. It's best to purchase tickets online and skip the long queues at the counters. I highly recommend.

An incredible experience was watching Carmen the Opera at this magical Arena in Verona..Italy! I can't even describe the feeling you get when you're sitting inside...as the sun sets and the Orchestra starts playing , you are transported into an enchanted place underneath the stars. Must visit during the summer holidays in Italy, the Opera season is an unforgettable experience.

The building itself was built in AD 30 on a site which was then beyond the city walls. The ludi (shows and games) staged there were so famous that spectators came from many other places, often far away, to witness them. The amphitheatre could host more than 30,000 spectators in ancient times. The round façade of the building was originally composed of white and pink limestone from Valpolicella, but after a major earthquake in 1117, which almost completely destroyed the structure's outer ring, except for the so-called "ala" (wing), the stone was quarried for re-use in other buildings. Nevertheless, it impressed medieval visitors to the city, one of whom considered it to have been a labyrinth, without ingress or egress.Ciriaco d'Ancona was filled with admiration for the way it had been built and Giovanni Antonio Panteo's civic panegyric De laudibus veronae, 1483, remarked that it struck the viewer as a construction that was more than human.

There are many cultural and historical monuments in Verona, especially well preserved from the Roman period. One of them is the Amphitheater, which is the symbol of Verona. What to say about this masterpiece except that it is magnificent. Exceptional beauty and rich history make this facility extremely interesting. We visited 4 Amphitheaters in the world El Jem in Tunisia, the Colosseum in Rome, the Amphitheater Pula in Croatia and this in Verona. Everyone is impressive in their own way, but this one is famous for great opera performances. In Roman times, the arena had space for over 30,000 spectators, and served for gladiator fights as well as all such buildings in the world. Arena is worthy of admiration and enjoyment. It is always a pleasant atmosphere both in the Amphitheater and in the nearby square Bra. It is easy to find because it is located in the city center. It's nice to sit in the nearby bars and watch the life around the arena. We love it.

(Translated by Google) Well-preserved arena, you can actually move freely in the whole arena and look at everything, but it was a bit restricted due to Corona. The entrance fee for adults cost 10, - € per person, I find it appropriate, as it is really well preserved. When visiting Verona you should definitely see the arena.

Majestic place for a nice walk. Its very quiet during the night but its worth it as you are able to appreciate the ancient walls and structures without rushing.

The most breathtaking monument experienced in our trip to northeast Italy. Definitely worth a visit to visualise this mammoth of stone architecture made possible in as early as 1st Century. 🤩🤩

Nice location and nice event we had. The acoustic is for musical events not really good. But still special. Toilets are ok. Seats on the stone were also ok.

Looks great from the outside. As we were there it was an event so we decided not to go inside, such a pity.

Arena in Verona (Tal. Arena di Verona) is a well-preserved Roman amphitheater. It is located in Italian city of Verona and is internationally known for large opera performances. It is one of the best preserved antique buildings of that kind. Originally arena was 152 x 123 meters. Today, 138 x 109 m and is 24.1 meters. Arena in Verona is after Colosse in Rome and Arena Capua - the third largest Roman amphitheater preserved. It offers a place for 22,000 spectators.

Crowded in June! An amazing place. One of the largest roman circuses in the world. The decorations for Aida was stored outside, which gave the circus an even more ancient feeling, although fake. I really would have liked to experience a live performance of Verdi's masterpiece here!

Mixed feelings and a tad of disappointment washed over me when I saw that certain parts of the indoor arena was under some renovation/upkeep/built ins. Interesting fact: Operatic performances, its elliptical shape enhances the acoustic quality of the performances. However the place looks marvellous, majestic and mysterious in the evening. 10Euro ticket per single entry and if you have the Verona Card, you could swoosh through, yes you have priority, it is free and avoid the anaconda like queue.

A million reviews to say the arena is beautiful and worthy of a visit. Here's one to mention that on site tickets must be bought before 1.30pm (you can then choose the slot for your visit) or you can purchase online and save yourself the hassle of queueing. Ticket is 10€. 45 minutes should be enough to see the whole place and take pics. No fifth star because no info about the place is provided or an indication of where to go. You end up walking all over the place hoping you didn't miss anything.

One of the oldest and most well preserved arenas of the mighty Roman Empire, one cannot step foot in Verona without seeing this masterpiece. Even more astounding is the fact that many events a year are still held here, with the arena having a capacity of over 20,000. Just under 2,000 years old and the area is still the heart of Verona social life.

Beautiful little arena filled with history. Not a great view to the city, but very monumental to be inside the place itself. As of today there’s and entry fee of €10 and €7.5 if you’re a student and with proof of ID. There are toilets and easy to get around.

Nice place to visit. Entree fee is 10 euros. You can buy tickets online or at the entrance. In low season at the entrance is just as quick. You can walk in the inner hallway but not very far as they are still restoring different parts. But you can go to inner "square" and walk to the top of the arena and have a glance in the outside. First pictures are at "off season" but from March on there will be regularly performances and so a stage and chairs will be in the arena as seen in the other pictures.

Indeed this place will remind you of the Clouseaum of Roma, Italy. Verona is little Rome, just because of this building. A very beautiful place in the city. If you are travelling to Verona, don't miss out on this beautiful place in the city. The interior of this building is often occupied with concerts stages and opera performances. Always buy the tickets beforehand to avoid any long ques to visit this marvellous place.

The arena in Verona is one of the best-preserved Roman arenas anywhere. Even the Colliseum in Rome has come down a fair bit. Moreover, in Verona the arena is in the center of the town and there is a very active shopping and dining area full of life and activity. The city is also the setting of two of Shakespeare's plays, the eternal love story Romeo & Juliet and the Two Gentlemen of Verona.

To listen Verdi in Verona Arena is unforgettable experience. 15000 people are keeping their breath and it is like you are alone with the music under the stars and the moon... and filling the connection with the ancestors. It is magical! On top, such spectacular work is done with the decors! And they re-build the scene (literally) for each act! It is a must see!

I’ve been to the Arena three times so far to see the Opera, and each time it was unforgettable. I would recommend bringing a cushion and some opera glasses, but even if you don’t, you’re so caught up in the experience it won’t really matter. If you got to Verona during the summer months this is a must.

It's nice, definitely a Veronese Hallmark, and a powerful and valuable attraction - go and see a show if you're in town. (5*) Deducting 2 stars because the chairs (the metal ones, in the middle height section) are really uncomfortable (they lean forwards and you slide off). It's like the director never tried one. After 4 hours it's quite tough and annoying.

Went to the opera in festival season. Arena was amazing and there are cheap seats on the stone which I would recommend a cushion (they are sold inside) Also would recommend taking cash as only a few vendors take card. Really enjoyable evening.

Wow, this place is older than the Coliseum in Rome. This place also hosts events like the summer opera series. It has cushioned seats in the lower part and then the old step seating up top. It isn't as crowded as it is in Rome. A must visit.

What can I say? Looks like the coliseum in Rome but it is in good shape. Operas are held there. Quite amazing for a stadium built in 30 AD

A unique place. History in own house. Epic opera spectacles. Good restaurants around. Attention at ZTL for car drivers. Parking not so cheap. But who cares...

Visiting Verona for work. The Verona Arena is beautiful from the outside. We were there Halloween night, lots of people and families enjoying the nightlife. Enjoyed so much needed Italian pizza while I visited.

Beautiful place to visit. This is a great place to take pictures and walk around. There are a number of shops to choose from if you want to go shopping, and there are a number of restaurants to choose from if you’re hungry. Restaurant prices are not too bad. Visiting the Verona Arena is a must if you’re visiting Verona.
