Davenport’s pizza is always consistent. Been coming here for 40 yrs. You cannot get thin crust pizza with this kind of amazing flavor ANYWHERE in Alabama. I’ve lived out of state for years now and always go back when I am home visiting family. Cons are the cost and wait times. To me, both worth it for the quality pizza. Plan ahead and order takeout early. Highly recommended.

Great little spot and local favorite. This place has stood the test of time since 1964. The pizza leans toward NY style (thin crust, extra cheesy) and is served cut in squares. The service was a little spotty, as high-schoolers tend to do. There's a main dining room but check out the side room if you love old arcade video games - they've got a whole wall of them. Good times!

Customer service was great despite how busy it was. Food was not authentic Italian more like a dry little ceasers. Also i requested a pepperoni pizza which was almost $20 and there was literally ONE pepperoni on it. Environment was very kid friendly. Might come back if the food improves.

There was nothing to take a pic of 👍🏼😂we ate it all except one slice. Amazing service and very inexpensive. Lora is the sweetest waitress. The owner allowed my little dog to be in here. I loved it. It’s a mountain Brook landmark for sure.

Old school pizza parlor atmosphere. The place was very crowded around 6. Service was a little slow. Pizza was great! Thin crust and lots of toppings. We’d def eat here again. It’s a popular place.

The pizza was very good. My only complaint is how it was cut. I prefer my round pizzas cut in wedge shaped slices instead of squares the way theirs was cut.

Davenport’s is a Mountain Brook Village staple! Everyone knows and LOVES Davenports. It’s consistently great pizza, in a fun, relaxing environment. Bring the kids and let them experience old school arcades and start a family tradition of fabulous pizza and fun. I hope this Mountain Brook landmark continues to cook irresistible pizza, provide service with a smile, and curate a wonderfully unique experience!!! Definitely check it out!👍🏼👍🏼

I have only ever been here twice and both times it was delicious and amazing! Service last night when I went was really good despite it being super busy and there being 2 large parties around the table I was at. I wish I could come more often!

Probably the best pizza I have tried in Birmingham since I’ve lived here. Reminds me of a place back home. My husband picked up the pizza and he liked the vibes of the inside. Parking is an issue though.

Lightly put, I consider myself to be a pizza connoisseur and there are only a few pizza places in the South that have pizza that can rival the North. Davenport’s is one of these gems. You have to try it to know what you are missing out on. Their pizzas are phenomenal and I have been and will always be a lifetime customer.

Locally owned, simple menu, good beer, irresistible crust... A pizza lovers dream spot for a quiet dinner. My wife and I love hanging around for a slice and a pint. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

What is going on everyone I have yet another review here for you. I have to space these things out okay. Anyways this past Saturday me and my cousin ventured out over to Vestavia Hills, AL to try out Davenport's Pizza Palace second location to try it for consistency. I say that because they have a Mountain Brook, AL location and I've been there before but never reviewed it. This location is in a great spot scenery is great and an awesome place to hang out. Both locations have an arcade area with really cool games as well. This place was extremely busy but the staff was so kind and they were doing a great job. Also to add to that for my drinkers they have a bar and a drink menu too! Now for the pizza we ordered the meat lovers and as always very good. Crispy crust and you can tell they use fresh cheese and fresh ingredients in general. I'm going to pull a Dave Portnoy and give this pizza an 8.2 out of 10. There is a reason this place always makes it on the list as one of the best places to get pizza in all of Alabama and it is indeed one of my favorite places to go. Go check them out at either location and enjoy their great food just like I did. In no particular order my favorite pizza places are Pizza Grace, 2 Dough Girlz Pizzeria , and Davenport's Pizza.

This place needs a little dusting. A few upgrades wouldn't hurt either. It was our first time visiting. I let the hostess know that iy was out first rodeo. She told us we could sit where ever we want. Once seated, we were looking around for a menu (sitting for about 10 mins not waited on) and finally the waitress comes up and let us know that it's on the bottom of this huge wooden pizza spatula. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Where to begin? We love this little pizza place. It's been around since the Jurassic Period of the Mesozoic Era, okay? You don't stay in business THAT long unless you're doing something right and these guys are doing ALL the things right. Parking and in general just getting to the place can be a bit of a challenge if you're not accustomed to navigating that area. There's a lot of one way streets and street parking. When you walk into the restaurant you're immediately greeted by the aroma of fresh pizza seen being made in the kitchen to your right. Employees are friendly and acknowledge you. Doesn't take long to get seated or place your order. The ambiance is cute. Lots of photos on the walls of famous actors, actresses, signs from local breweries, and the like. There's a beautiful black trellis with string lights in the main dining area that separates some tables. The menus are written on wooden pizza paddles. The pizza is *chef's kiss* DEVINE. The cheese has that perfect stretch when you take a slice from the pie. It's not greasy or too heavily sauced. It's simply perfect. The ingredients taste fresh and they make their own sauces and salad dressing. We have eaten here several times over the years and have loved every experience and every pizza. I only wish we lived closer! We'd be there every week!

Our visit this time was a week day at 2:00pm. Plenty of parking available and no wait. Even if we go on the weekend and have to wait, it is worth it. Also good to note they only have pizza and salad on the menu. Nothing more. They make their dough fresh daily.

Quaint Pizza place. Don't sleep on it. The pizza was great and the salad was fresh. The menu is small without much fuss but I'll definitely go back when in the area.

I'd love to give a review of the food but we never got it. We put in an order around 5:30PM on a Saturday, and were given a 7:30PM wait time. Sure, no problem, I don't mind waiting for good food. Problem is, 7:20PM we get a call, the delivery person is just now getting there, says something about them putting the Pizza in and how it's going to be another 20m after that for the food to get here. Frustrating, but fine. Then we get a call just after 8:30PM that our order was canceled. No other information, just canceled. I mean we may try again some other weekend but this left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. I realize this is more on Waitr or ASAP, but yeah, can't comment on food I never got to TRY EDIT - We tried again and got the pizza! Easily some of the best Pizza in Birmingham, and the closest thing to a proper New York style I've had here. Meat lovers and cheese, and while really good, the toppings sort of slid around on top of the pizza, but that's fairly common in my experience from New York style. Fantastic. Though I will say the outside crust was ever so slightly burnt (bit of black) which hampered the taste slightly, but plan on getting it again. OH! Ask for normal slicing instead of the square cut! It works a lot better for folding :)

Good, thin crust pizza. Not the best I’ve had, but very good. It’s a clean, friendly environment as well. The veggies are freshly chopped and taste splendid.
