These people are so MAGNIFICENT. I am new to learning about wine and I have been in five times. I worked with someone different each time. They ALL are patient with me, try to educate me, help me with choices and are always so kind! I LOVE this wine shoppe and the staff are ALL GREAT. I promise if you had bad experience here,it was a fluke and please give them another chance. Also, I'm not a "review" person but after my visit today I wanted to spread positive vibes and maybe help a wine surfer find a home!!

I live in the neighborhood so I stopped by on my way home for a glass of wine. They treated me like I was invisible. Yes… I am 68 years old but I am much more than my age. I was alone so it was even worse. I guess if you agree not 30 something you are not welcome. I guess these bartenders don’t know that we are the best tippers. I will tell all of my friends about this experience.

A first class wine shop with a great selection and top people working there. Trent was incredibly helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

The BEST wine selection in all of Birmingham. Alan and I have tried about 6 different bottles over the past few months based off staff recommendations and each one was perfect. A personal favorite, the Gaspard Rosé, who’s description is as follows: the taste of sunshine and the color of sunlight through a window after the rain✨I cannot wait to have a moment free of children to experience a date night at their beautiful bar instead of just swinging by to bring a bottle home! Golden age is one of my absolute favorite places in Birmingham. Incredible wine selection in lots of price points. The staff is friendly and helpful—the wines they’ve recommended have quickly become favorites. I love that the staff can help you no matter your level of knowledge on wine. I also love that I can place an order online and they’ll bring the wine to my car. It’s a beautiful space with delicious wine and great people.

Golden Age is by far the best specialty bottle shop I've seen. We drove hours to Mountain Brook and were not let down. The 50/50 board was amazing, and the wine recommendations were even better. We will definitely be regular customers and will continue to make the drive for the experience.

Company was great. Wine selection was great. Waitstaff were doing their best to handle the large crowd. Appetizers were in very very short supply.

So much variety in the varietals! Knowledgeable staff and incredible selection, truly a destination for all wine drinkers whether pedestrian or aspiring sommelier.

Great selections, attentive staff and great atmosphere. Would be the perfect place with exception of fact they charged us a $20 corkage fee on a $66 bottle of wine. 2 establishments within 2 miles of Golden Age gladly serve you their wine without a corkage fee and their prices are as good as or better than Golden Age. I would like to host my weekly wine group here but they would never go For this corkage fee. We can buy a nice bottle of wine for what the corkage fee cost. They could greatly increase traffic by doing away with the corkage fee!

Absolutely gem! Girls Trip and walked right up on this hidden jewel. A full wine bar with menu options. We were served by Hanna, greeted as soon as we entered. Sweet personality. We ordered a snack, Grilled Cheese w/arugula salad and 2021 Leoncio Cinsault red wine. Delicious. We had the pleasure of meeting Trent, co-owner. He was very hospitable as we enjoyed the space in the back. It was giving all kinds of relaxing vibes. Very intimate. Cozy.

Come here. Ask for Noah. We recently visited this cute little wine shop and had a fantastic experience thanks to the excellent service provided by our server, Noah! From the moment we walked in, Noah greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. Not only did he have an extensive knowledge of the different wines available, but he also took the time to understand our tastes and preferences to recommend wines that were perfectly suited to our palate. He was patient, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. He accommodated our allergies and even updated the playlist for us! The wine selection was impressive, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of wines available. Noah was able to guide us through the different options, and we ended up trying some incredible new wines that we wouldn't have found on our own. Couldn’t recommend this wine shop enough, and specifically want to give a HUGE thanks to Noah for his exceptional service. His expertise, attention to detail, and warm personality made for a truly memorable experience. We will definitely be returning soon!

Golden Age is classy without being pretentious. The sommeliers go out of their way to chat and make sure the overall experience is a positive one - and they really know their wine well, to boot! We went for wine and apps for my mother’s birthday and had such a lovely experience. I couldn’t believe how expansive their selection was, either! The shop is much deeper than it appears with something for any palate!
