I stayed at Zebra Hostels a few days ago with my three girlfriends. We booked AC rooms, and it was amazing! The vibe and room amenities were fantastic. We even celebrated one friend's birthday, and they sorted us out with food. It was a blast! Big shoutout to the cool host who made us feel at home. We'll definitely be back for another visit. Zebra Hostels is a fantastic spot, especially for us girls on the go.

Firstly, I don't have a problem with the management running this place, but I've gotta be honest. It's not a good deal at all as we paid a bunch of money, around 13k for two rooms for one night. And, amazingly, the fan in our room didn't work at all, and the bathrooms were just plain dirty. The big attraction here seems to be their dog. You can hang out with it of you're super rich and willing to pay around 6-7k to see a dog. My friends and I were pretty let down by the rooms and the service. We tried to find another place, but it was a busy weekend, and we were out of luck. To make things worse, the room doors didn't even lock properly – a little kick, and they'd swing right open. Taking a shower was an adventure, too, with lizards and bugs all over the place. This place doesn't seem to get much attention – it's like a bunch of friends are trying to run it but failing big time. Dinner was a comedy of errors. The kitchen was way, way too far from the dining area, especially when it was raining. The poor waiter had to bring in the food without umbrella and we had rainwater in our food too. I could go on with more bad experiences and write a small book on it, but let's keep it simple: Don't book a room here. Sleep in your car or camp by the roadside – anything but staying in this place. Seriously, even if it's the last option in town, find another one.

I had the absolute displeasure of staying at this hostel recently. The lack of cleanliness at this place is beyond belief. The room had cobwebs and the bedsheets were full of dust! Unfortunately, this hostel faced issues with providing consistent access to water and electricity during my stay. To charge your phone, you’ll have to do it in the common area because there are no plug points in the rooms. Inconvenient doesn't even begin to describe it. Regrettably, the condition of the washrooms fell short of basic cleanliness standards. It's important to note that this hostel offers unisex bathrooms, which they may consider a progressive approach. However, it did create some moments of discomfort for those who may not be accustomed to such arrangements. We came back to the hostel after a long day of sightseeing, only to find a house party with a bunch of strangers taking over the common area. The music from the party was so loud that the walls and ceiling were shaking. In conclusion, I would strongly advise considering alternative accommodations. There are more comfortable options available that can provide a much better experience for your stay.

Cleanliness: Very unclean. You’ve to leave your footwear outside but there’s no point as the floor is always muddy. There’s cobwebs on the roof and overall not maintained well. The bathrooms are common for men and women and not cleaned very often. Safety: None. Anyone known to the group managing is allowed inside. Facilities: None. Proximity to the cliff is the only perk. Value for money: Very low. The price charged is as much as charged by other premium stays. Considering this is supposed to be a hostel where prices are supposed to be reasonable and the absolute lack of facilities, this is ludicrous.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Zebra Hostels. After looking at all the 5-star ratings, we decided to book Zebra hostels to experience the backpacking culture of Varkala, only to be disappointed in reality. Cleanliness - The basic cleanliness/ hygiene was not at all maintained. The dorms were dirty with no ventilation, stained sheets and cobwebs! There are no services/ facilities, including breakfast/ lunch/ dinner. The washrooms, common area and the rooms were muddy and dirty. No separate washrooms for men and women. Disturbances - The dorm allocated to us was right next to the common party hall where the loud music echoed within the 4 walls of our room. Moreover, it wasn't just the blaring music but there were strangers roaming the hallways and banging doors, making us question our safety. Price - We expected a certain level of cleanliness and sanitation, especially given the price we paid for the room (highly overpriced for the facilities offered!). There are lots of hostels with better facilities for a price much lower than what is charged by Zebra hostel. The only perk is that the hostel is close to north cliff but overall, our experience was unpleasant. It is essential for the hostel to prioritize cleanliness and guest comfort, and unfortunately, this establishment fell far short of that standard. Save yourself the frustration and look for alternative accommodations in the area.

Basic expectation of cleanliness not met. No other facilities at all so cannot comment. The price charged is that charged by better hotels with a lot more facilities. Not recommended.

We were a group of 5 girls who booked the property relying on the google reviews, only to be very disappointed. The location of the property is around 10 mins walk from the north cliff and this is the only plus. The maintenance of the property is very bad. The washrooms were common for men and women , which would have been acceptable at least if they were maintained cleanly. The hosts also made some recommendation for an ayurvedic massage, the location for which was next to some trash site. Overall, a very unpleasant experience and highly not recommended if you're planning to travel solo

I had stayed at zebra hostel with my 2 bestfriends and god i just need to say that we felt super safe for us being there and the vibe was really matching with ours too .. I just need to give a special mention to Amareesh and our auto chettan (i hardly forgot his name Sorry though ) who showed us alonost beautiful places over there and they made is more happy and comfortable like our family. Over all that was a good experience ❤️
