There are loads of things that I really liked it. The hosts were super friendly and very nice people and are ready to help in any possible way. The rooms were really spacious and clean. The stay has parking facilities. For me it was a memorable experience. And the biggest plus point was they accept online payments as well

I went in for 2 days and ended up staying for almost a week.-that's how good this place treats you. The Hosts are extremely welcoming and cozy. The whole place is so neat and clean . The stay being very near the beach makes it even more exciting. Had a great time here with he verve tribe! Cant wait to come back.:)

A beautiful hostel located in the middle of a naturesque place. The main attraction was the fact the Varkala Cliff and the beach was just so nearby (walkable distance). The ambience at the hostel and the food brought back memories from my childhood home in Kerala. The most refreshing part was how the hosts happily allowed us to help with the beautiful artwork around the hostel (it is a must to see every one of them) Overall, just a beautiful place with some amazing folks that keep it that way. Kudos to the team!

Loved the whole vibe of the place! Couldn’t have been happier with the company of the hosts. If you’re looking for a place you can chill at Varkala with your friends, this should be the easiest pick! Lots of board games for you to choose, if that’s your vice! 😬 and if art is your thing then this place will surprise you with its amazing murals. Walkable distance to the cliff and great suggestions on the places to try out for eating. Overall, Donny, Priya and Paathu were all such a joy to be around and super helpful whenever you need it too!

For the homebody, or someone wishing to escape the hustle, it is THE spot for a retreat ; with an environment,vibe and company designed for you to first, just chill and then, to get inspired! The thoughtful personal touches and artwork at the hostel are a class apart, a continuing collaborative effort from artists all around the country, and guests who had once called this place home and left their contributions. The serenity of this place is something else indeed, nestled between lush greens, and buzzing with the lilting sounds of birds and insects - a little microcosm of the 'feels' of Kerala. The common spaces are as much chill as they are engaging, offering everything from a reading room to a game room to a yoga space. And the icing on the cake are the hosts, super warm and friendly folks, always attentive and responsive to your needs, and always game for a conversation or an adventure :) And all these wonderful charms aside, the place is a great bang for the buck - spacious and comfortable dorm and individual rooms, with super clean bathrooms and a fully functional kitchen. I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to head there again!

Where do I start? It was all a sudden weekend plan. Five of us (all guys) decided to have a weekend stay at Varkala. Verve came into the picture with its attractive price range and pleasant reviews from a lot of people. Fortunately bunk bed stay was available eventhough we made a late booking. We reached in the evening and stayed there for 2 nights. Here is my take on this place. - Definitely a budget friendly place for short and long term stays for backpackers & routine travellers. - Famous North cliff is easily accessible within 1 km. - Place is maintained neat and clean. - Safes available nearby beds. - Place is quiet and stay can be very peaceful. Couples can book separate homes too in the same complex. - Payment accepted in all modes. - Friendly and helpful hosts. - 24 hour wifi access ( which slowed after sometime) - Round the clock hot water for bathing and washing purpose. - No restrictions on smoking and partying. Now on the downside, - Route to the place becomes very narrow in its final stretch. So you are bound to get scratches and dents in your car if you are not skilful enough and have to drive in and out regularly. We had to park our car far outside the actual stay during day time to avoid damaging our car. - The bunk beds were fine. But the sheets and bed clothing needed more drywashing as they still had their moldy odor when we first entered. - They claim to have a kitchen. But it is not completely furnished with cutlery and utensils. We have not seen anyone cooking anything in there. - The owner insisted on paying for a damaged item immediately eventhough we told we would pay the next day. And we werenot given any kind of bill for that too. - The place may have had lots of visitors in the past. But it seemed to have lost its charm when we visited last in May 22( may be off season, but it is still a weekend). - No two wheeler/ cycles available for rent. Definitely can give a try once! But need to improve on things..

Amazing.... Simply Amazing Hostel is situated 900 m away from varkala Cliff and it's just 5 minutes walking distance.. Location:- Hostel has their own compound , inside the compound 3 home with Parking..So calm and quiet area.You will Nature sound in night time. Well maintained in rooms ( stayed in Dormetry) Cleanliness is maintained very good.. If you plan to visit varkala try this Hostel.. Highly recommended..

Take a lovely, comfy, clean and spacious property, throw in a couple of really fun, creative and friendly hosts and thats the verve effect! Intriguing conversations with the hosts, stargazing on the terrace, a number of games to choose from in the gameroom,crazy brilliant music, exciting art work all around, brilliant DIY decor ideas,some really interesting reading material, and getting to meet people from all over the world are only a few reasons to stay at verve! The hosts are really cool, fun people to hang out with who are available at the property at all times and will also guide you through your stay in varkala on the best places to eat, to chill out and the must visit spots. Though it is a relatively new property, it doesn't show at all in the way this property is managed and maintained. The way this property is run reflects the passion and the enthusiasm of the hosts, who go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and the overall experience is almost like of staying over at a good friend's place! It's just one of those places that you can come to when you're looking for a break and the beaches are just an added bonus!

Similar experience with other hostels in the area. Nothing special about the place. This place got potential though. It has space, if its developed for liesure fun ges like pool, etc. It would then be very nice. Doesnt has a cafeteria. Its not that near to the beach as well. Its approx. 1 km from the beach. We had thought it would be an awesome place to be judging it from the ratings. The rooms were conjested. We expected something to do, as in, indoor games, etc. but it wasnt there. The most amazing place to sit and relax whenever you visit Varakala. The hosts are very hospitable and I don't think there is any better place with all that comfort and amenities that you are getting here all at once.The beach is near and it's the kind of calm you just want, it's quiet and peaceful while the market and the beach is also nearby. It's very green and aesthetic, so even if you don't feel like going to the beach everyday you can just chill in the balcony with all that view. If you are a reader, you will even get to access a book library with all the books you need. So if you come to Varkala, you have to experience this stay!!

The photos shown in google and the actual place are completely different. It has been bought by someone else from Verve. There is even no board for the place. Rooms were decent and toilets were clean. Beds were bad. The hostel vibe was missing. Better to avoid as much better options are available at this price.

A great upcoming hostel having an amazing space and openness to it. The rooms are neat and clean and the team behind it are really nice and welcoming people. As a new venture they have taken the needs of travellers into consideration and given the place a makeover that would suit a backpacker. Overall a good place to spend your holidays in varkala. The property is nearly 10 minutes walk from the cliff but away from all the noise of the cliffside, thus giving it a calm and peaceful vibe.

Beautiful place to hang out as a gang. Lovely Hosts and they even help us with recommendations. There is parking for two wheelers too. And the Cliff Beach is just a ten minute walk away. It was a wonderful outing and the place is just too good!

Nice hostel about 15 minutes walk from North Cliff. Matress and pillow comfortable, lots of chilling spots. There is a kitchen but it lacks material. The place is quite clean (exept kitchen and fridge which could be better maintained). Neighbourhood quieter than other places.

An amazing little hostel in Varkala. There's so many things to like about this place. Super friendly hosts, clean rooms, great company, super affordable rates and good location(walkable distance from the beach, yet nestled away is a quiet neighbourhood, away from all the hustle and bustle). This will definitely be my go-to-place for all my future Varkala trips.

A quaint location at just the right distance away from the Cliff side beach of Varkala. Its perfect if you want to have your own little space with books, music, fairy lights and all the foliage in the world and just 15 minutes walk away from the chaotic bustle of one of the most famous beaches of Kerala, if that's your thing. An absolute getaway for backpackers with amazing hosts. The stay was a blast with good food, good music, good environment and a plethora of indoor activities to indulge in. If you're traveling with friends or family there's always something for each one to enjoy. The rooms were Uber clean and the hosts made sure we had a great time from the start to the end. Leave a piece of your art behind for the next batch of people coming in to enjoy.

One of the best places for a budget stay in varkala. They have almost anything you can ask for. The hosts are extremely friendly that makes the stay even more comfortable. The washrooms in particular are really clean and well maintained. The rooms have enough and more space. The interiors are really beautiful. All in all its a great place to go and spend some quality time. And yes it's very nearby to the beach aswell.

Although not leaving a positive review, but it's cheap, very cheap and this is all you get for the amount you pay for the stay. The rooms are good but then the people is AC and Non AC rooms share the same entrance, and as per the rules you are not allowed to lock the doors! It's uncomfortable in that sense. Plus the bugs and mosquitoes at night will make it all the more difficult for you to have a good night in. So advised that you be prepared for everything. Otherwise the property is good, that's all.

I am a backpacker who travels a lot, and I stay at hostels all the time, while me and my friends were coming to varkala, we missed the local train and had to take a bus, which left us 9 kms away(Kallambalam) at 12 am, the amazing people at verve got us an auto at that time to get us safely to varkala and even had food for us(on request), we asked where to get rental bikes, they made a call and the bikes came to the hostel, and don't even get me started on the aesthetics of the place, soulful ambience, homely hosts, unbelievably good infrastructure. If anyone can find a hostel which cares for the travel community better than this(at an affordable cost) like Verve Hostel. I'll pay for your stay at verve hostel

This hostel is absolutely superb, run by three gems Donny, Deepal and Fahtima. The facilities are cleaned daily, rooms are spacious, free wireless, excellent terrace and entrance area, awesome vibes, friendly and homely atmosphere. Also , i fell in love with the magnificent artwork all around the hostel. If you're looking for peace and quite than this place is really suited for young travellers, backpacker and explorers. Also, if you like photography, this place has many angles and perfect sweet spots for that. You will not regret your stay at VERVE. Lots of Fun !!!

Such a calm, relaxed and tranquil place to stay for a few days. I was staying at another hostel in Varkala which had a slightly busier vibe and just wanted a place to wind down for my last 2 nights. I chose this place and was so glad about my decision. It is really serene and quiet and excellent if you just want to disconnect for a bit. The staff Donny, Fatima and Priya were very welcoming and super chill and I had a great time getting to know them as people more so than hosts. I booked a private room and was very satisfied as I don't think you can beat the price for the surrounding area. Only down side is that it's a bit of a walk to the main cliff area and can be dark if you are heading out at night, but nothing too bad as the area is very safe and you see lot's of tourists (foreign and local) walking about anyways. Would highly recommend and would also stay again next time I'm in Varkala!

Very friendly place to stay in a group, Provide breakfast and lunch 😋 which is good and also at apt price. various board games like jenga n uno.. Excellent ambience Greenish garden Cycle / bikes / tavera rent could also be arranged by owners. Clean rooms and bathrooms.

Hostels are very neat and well-maintained. The beaches nearby are pristine and beautiful. Great restaurant options near the beach, especially if you're into seafood. Can be a little heavy on the wallet. The hosts are what make this place unforgettable, though. The place has a very strong community feel to it. Games, food, great conversations, and interesting travel stories... Already looking forward to my next visit.
