If you are looking for a luxurious and exotic hotel to stay in during your visit to Viana de Castelo, this hotel is definitely worth considering. The rooms are not only spacious, but also offer breathtaking views of the city and its beautiful landmarks, including the Santuário de Santa Luzia. The staff are well presented and very kind, making your stay even more enjoyable. The hotel goes above and beyond to make special occasions, like birthdays, memorable with their thoughtful gestures. This hotel offers a truly exceptional experience that you won't forget anytime soon.

Historical building on the hill top to have great view to the city, chapel and the Atlantic. Room is bit old but maintained clean and comfortable. The only disadvantage of the location is transportation, only on foot or by taxi. The cable car is out of service at the moment.

A really great place to stay with an amazing view over the city below which you can get from your room's balcony or breakfast on the terrace. The hotel is really a change from the old or modern hotels in a 19th century style that is well kept. There is plenty of parking and activities around. The food was really good too and the service was very nice. The breakfast was really great.

Great place to stay while in Viana do Castelo. The stunning view of the sanctuary and the architecture and decoration makes it a relaxing place for a weekend. Thank you for the hospitality!

Stunning location, great service, rooms are old style but spacious and clean. Had the most beautiful evening meal here and breakfast was the best of all our tour.

Lovely place with a.calm.relaxing atmosphere. The staff (Cleiton 😁) are professional and friendly and the views from the rooms and the terrace, over Viana are breathtaking.

Room had a stunning view, but smelled like a perfume counter. Staff not that friendly or helpful. Lug you own suitcases and park your own car. Breakfast was very good.

I just loved this hotel! The front views are exceptional, the bedrooms are comfortable, and the communal areas are relaxing. Be aware the funicular down into town may not be working so it's a drive or steep steps down - 682 of them! Right behind the hotel is an ancient settlement and right in front is the more modern Basilica, both wonderful places to visit!

Exceptional location with views over Santa Luzia and the ocean. Lots of trails around and the air is fresh, crisp, smells like eucalyptus Best sleep in this trip with comfortable bed, perfect silence and cool air The hotel is beautiful and elegant inside Free parking No gym but outside Pool perfect on a hot day Excellent restaurant on the premises, small selection we tried almost every dish in two dinners all very good But the best thing is the PEOPLE working here They are super nice, helpful, friendly and warm We stayed three wonderful days here

I give the superior rooms 5 stars because of the spectacular view of the Basílica de Santa Luzia, the city of Viana do Castelo, Lima river, Atlantic ocean, beaches, and the distant mountains all combined into one spectacular panorama. Superior rooms have balconies that directly overlook this amazing panorama. The rooms are large with tall ceilings. They are comfortable albeit everything is quite old and a renovation with better sound insulation between rooms would be nice. You will be hearing the cracking sound of the hardwood floors whenever your neighbors walk, not so pleasant. All superior rooms on the second floor have balconies that overlook the fantastic panorama I described above. So your choice should be a second floor superior room. You will be just a few minutes short walk from the Basilica of Santa Luzia and trust me this is where you want to be when you are in Viana Do Castelo. The basilica is so beautiful inside and out. The service in the hotel restaurant is great. The staff are courteous. But the food could be better and more creative to match the panoramic beauty in front of you whenever you eat there.

Really enjoyed. Was my first Pousadas de Portugal experiência and I really liked it. They did us a room upgrade and the view was gorgeous 😍

Set high on the Monte de Santa Luzia, Pousada de Viana do Castelo overlooks the town of Viana do Castelo. Rooms have panoramic views over the ocean or lush landscapes. The grounds of Pousada de Viana do Castelo feature an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and many terraces from which guests can admire the views. Pousada de Viana do Castelo's restaurant offers local and international gourmet cuisine. Guests can also visit Viana do Castelo and its restaurants by using the Panoramic Elevator of Santa Luzia.

We were very disappointed with our two night stay here. The room was so small that there was no place for our luggage. The dinner was particularly poor so we cancelled our dinner reservation for the second night

To take few days from city rush, full of green around, nice walks in the woods, amazing sightseeing, to breathe history, 5 stars customer service.

We spent there 5 nights in July 2020 as a family (2 double rooms). The hotel is very impressive and has a fantastic view over Viana do Castelo. The rooms (included bathrooms) are OK, but would need to be renovated (this is why I gave only 4 stars). The mattresses were very good. Nice and clean pool. The personal at the front desk (especially Susana) is very helpful and nice.

Spectacular hotel. Great staff. Note that if you are walking to the hotel - there are a lot of steps. The vehicular or a taxi may be advisable!

Rooms really outdated and lacking as a 4stars hotel. Hotel Restaurant was limited though staff tried hard to be of service. Breakfast very limited. Not really a comfortable hotel just have a good view of the Sanctuary.

This is a magical place to stay. The hotel is very high up and the views are breathtaking. Very comfortable beds . The staff were excellent everyone of them smiled . There is a funicular down into the town or a taxi was only €7 from the town up. We fell in love with this place and would stay here again if we come back here.
