Spectacular view of the city. A wonderful place to see the sunset from. This is one of the three most important catholic churches in Portugal. The other 2 are in Braga and Portugal.

Magnificent religious history with an amazing view of the Lima river and the Atlantic ocean!

Nice place but the inside is very small. Parking is not easy.

Beautiful spot to visit

grandiose view of Viano do Castelo and the bay. Ascent possible on foot, by car or by elevator. There is a small viewing platform on the church, which can only be visited between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

I advise the climb through the inner walls of the temple to the very top of it (called Zimborio) where you will enjoy the views over the whole of Viana do Castelo and surrounding area. A sight to remember! 😉 Entrance at the east wall black doors... 😁☝️

The place is on the top of a mountain, with some worthy views that you don't know where to watch. To the sanctuary or to the river and the sea on the opposite side

A bit cold during the spring, but worth seeing

Beautiful views over the sea as well as the river and the mountains. The sanctuary is amazing and can be visited inside as well as the top, but that's paid. Highly recommend if you are in Viana do Castelo.

Pretty church and for obvious reasons the best views around!

Prepare for a long LONG stair walk(or pay €2 for a ride up or €3 to go up and back down)....but it's worth it. The view up there...amazing
