It is a nice getaway for families and it definitely lives up to the expectations of the kids. The personal is polite and very smiley which gives a good overall impression. Of course it's a bit far from the beaten track but this can also be a plus. Overall I liked it and would come back with my kid.

One of my favorite zoos now! Inexpensive and the zoo is beautiful. Very large enclosures for the animals with a lot of room to move about. That said, there are plenty of chances to see them up close. The drive through safari is a neat idea. You drive between three parking lots (where you can visit different animals) and between them you're going through the animals up close. Lemur exhibit has no barriers between you and them and then are very curious. Highly recommend this place!

Lovely place to spend some hours walking with family or friends through nature and admire the animal variety. We loved it. It’s amazing that you can even bring food from home, there’s a lot of outdoor spots where you can have a picnic or grill. Toilets are also spread around the park. Will definitely return.

Realy nice zoo, beautifully set up. 50% walking, 50% driving. Different from any other zoo ive been. You start by driving to p1 and have a walk around there seeing for e.x. pinguins bears etc. From there u take the car and drive "safari style" to p2. Here u do the same as p1 and after drive to p3. All 3 parkings have a restaurant, and play area for kids. Boldercars in which u can transport the kids when ur on your walk. Realy enjoyed this day as did the kids.

This is such an amazing Zoo and so big! Be prepared to walk a lot. Animals have huge enclosures and they are well taken care of. Enclosures are not crowded with animals. What I love is the "drive through" which I did not take. An employee advised against it in the peak season, but over all I saw people enjoying it. Awesome Zoo/Safari park with lots of interesting animals. I like the setup where you can drive between the three parking lots at walk from there. Especially the African enclosure was well made. The animals had lots of room and the viewing platforms and hut were well placed. Our visit was a bit rainy, but that only made the wilderbeast jump around, which was a sight to see. Awesome park. Do not miss a chance to go there.

Was our frist experience to drive through a Safari, with so many animals from different lands so close by. A total joy for all. Amazing! Loved it! The animals are clearly being treated fantastically and I love the large, natural enclosures. Very little concrete and metal, which makes you feel good for the animals. One of the best animal parks I've ever been to. And, incredibly fair priced for everything! I'd recommend 5-6 hours to see everything if on foot and with the safari bus. We were there for almost 6 hours and still didn't manage to get around to all the animals, because there's so much to see. Will definitely be back! ❤️

Sehr, sehr schöner Park. Die Tiere haben viel Platz. Besonders toll finde ich die Mischung aus ein Stück durch den Safaripark fahren, dann ein Stück laufen. Man hat drei Parkplätze als Zwischenstationen. So sitzt man weder die ganze Zeit im Auto oder läuft nur. Man kann aber den Park auch als Fußgänger durchqueren (ob man da wirklich alles sieht, kann ich nicht einschätzen) oder auch mit einem Safaribus (haben wir auch noch nie gemacht). Wir waren über die Jahre immer mal wieder hier (mindestens sieben/acht Mal) und kommen sicher mal wieder hierher.

Really cool Zoo, where you can drive your own car or take the zoo bus as a safari straight out of Africa. You get to go close to bison, Lions, Ostrich, Zebras, Giraffes, and lots more. The only downside for me was the bad signage, and the provided folded map was lackluster in terms of finding our way through the zoo. Lots of toilets and activities for kids though, so thoroughly satisfied with the visit.

Took the Go´morgen Zoo® program and it was an experience for our small kids & us, the big kids. We visited & fed early in the morning (before the zoo's opening time) the fearless lionesses and teenage lions 🦁, the gentle & humongous rhinos 🦏 and the pair of otters 🦦. And then we went for the full safari experience, all around the zoo and even checked all possible playgrounds and coffee / picnic areas. 💚💜❤️💙🌼

Und das, obwohl wir bei bestem Wetter dort gewesen sind Die Möglichkeit, mit dem eigenen Auto oder Zoo eigenen Bussen durch einige Gehege zu fahren ist ein zusätzliches Highlight. Überall stehen Schilder die darauf hinweisen, was man bei dem Bewuchs bereits ahnen konnte: Der Zoo verzichtet komplett auf den Einsatz von Pestiziden! Allen Tieren scheint es sehr gut zu gehen, zumal alle Tiere unzählige Möglichkeiten haben, sich zurückzuziehen, wenn sie es möchten. Die Preise sind für das, was man geboten bekommt absolut angemessen. Eine klare Empfehlung!

A childfree couples review. We visited the park without any children, so this review will rely mostly on how we felt the park was designed to accommodate us as well as families. All in all, the park is a 9/10 on places to take a rest while moving around, adding in some more benches or places to sit down for some moments could improve the already near perfect design of the park. 10/10 on restaurants and facilities for the visitors. 10/10 on cleanliness. Little to no trash existed throughout the park. Children have a large play area right inside the gates, meaning they have the opportunity to be bolsterous and have fun and use up excess energy as needed before going through the park. This means there is less likelihood of children running amok while parents watch on, as they are usually very tired by the time they get to the animals. The enclosures and areas throughout the park are well maintained, kept clean (to the degree possible) and makes you appreciate the care they give the animals. As for animal information, it would be nice with a few more signs around, but not a big detriment. If you travel to Billund, do take the trip here, even if you plan to walk the park, its well worth the experience! (Ps, safari tour is basically a guided queue of cars 😅)

Ein wunderschön angelegter Zoo. Die Tiere haben großzügige Gehege, trotzdem hat man immer etwas zu sehen. Die Bus Safari war ein Erlebnis, Benny unser Busfahrer hat sich toll um uns gekümmert. Es besteht auch die Möglichkeit mit dem eigenen Auto zu fahren. Im Gelände gibt es 3 Parkplätze, von denen aus man die einzelnen Bereiche zu Fuß erkunden kann.Wir waren ca. 5 Stunden im Zoo.

Schöner Zoo. Man kann mit dem Auto rein fahren und teilweise durch ein Tiergehege fahren, wo man den Tieren sehr nahe kommen kann. Man parkt das Auto auf einem Parkplatz (3 Stück gesamt) im Zoo und geht dann , wenn man möchte sogar mit Hund, durch andere Gehege. Mit dem Auto kann man durch das Löwengehege (nur ohne Hund) fahren. Ich hatte wenig Glück die Löwen zu sehen. Sie hatten unter einen Baum im Schatten gelegen. Trotzdem war alles in allem der Besuch ein Erlebnis.

Ein sehr schöner Zoo, man kann dort den ganzen Tag verbringen. Die Kinder waren von der Safari total begeistert. Es gibt die Möglichkeit sich eine Flasche Wasser zu kaufen und kann diese immer wieder auffüllen. Am besten das Ticket online kaufen, da geht's am schnellsten ohne warten. Wir waren am 16.08.2023 dort und man muß nicht warten. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Der Audioguide zur Safari, der in verschiedenen Sprachen vorhanden ist, liefert spannende Hintergrundinformationen und alles ist top organisiert. Das Team ist sehr nett, sodass wir hier bei den Fütterungen der Bären und Gorillas noch tolle und witzige Stories zu den Tieren hören konnten. Auch die Tiere, die man zu Fuß anschauen kann, wie die Pinguine oder die Riesenotter, sind absolute Highlights. Hundertprozentige Empfehlung!

We drove our car, but it is possible to take bus, too. I recommend to spend the whole day here. There were a lot to see and good playgrounds for children. We saw lions very close to our car and could stop and look at other animals in the safari park. We walked around (~ 6km according to the plan/map) and could stop at 3 parking places to walk, play and eat. Children at age 4 and 5 y.o. thought that everything was interesting and they were not tired of walking around, if they would be, it was possible to borrow a small wagon to have them in for free.

Excellent zoo! We visited her in the summer of 2018 with two kids aged 3 and 5 years old. We opted for overnight sleeping inside the zoo in the ‘Boma’. We were given an nice tour of the Boma. And safety instructions in case of an emergency. The Boma consists of 4 tents inside an wood fence enclosure with beds for 8 persons per tent. After the crew had locked up the animals for the night we were free to move about the zoo and enjoy what was open. We took a night safari with flashlights trough the dinosaur park which was absolutely magical for the kids! The morning after we got to see three animals in their cages through the ‘Wake up Zoo’. We got to feed the giraffes, see the gorillas and meet the lions who gave us an amazing morning song (roars). All while the guide explained to us a lot of interesting information about the animals and the make up of the different herds etc. The zoo in itself is fantastic, personal car was our main transportation and we could enjoy ‘safaris’ through a range of different geographical locations. After each safari we could park the car on walk to see other animals and rest at the restaurants while the kids were playing in the many playgrounds. I definitely recommend this, thanks for an amazing experience from all of us!

Nice zoo. It’s worth to do a journey. You can drive through the zoo by car. There are three stops on the safari, where you can get out of the car and watch more animals. Best at visit 2021 were the gorilla baby’s. They are sooo cute. Directly followed of the brillbears. The bears are really impressing and have the biggest space I had ever seen in zoos. They playground at the end is also great. The kids loved to play there after visiting the dinosaurs. We hat a really good day there. My personal tip: Buy the cd for the safari. It will give you a lot fun facts about the animals, you are watching. For that, it’s not too expensive.

Our current favourite of the available zoo/nature attractions in Denmark. Lots of space also for the animals and most employees actually seem to care for what they do, not just the caretakers but also the ones serving food, selling souvenirs etc. Now they offer discounts for season pass owners too.

Nice zoo, reasonably easy to walk through. We decided to leave the car at the front entrance. There were only 2 buses going during the day, so we walked it all. My son played in all the playgrounds and really enjoyed it. Only negative comment was the facts that a lot of the kiosks were closed, which made getting food and drinks a little bit harder. But I suppose it was too off season for them to open it all.

Option to drive around in safari in your own car increases the fun and comfort factor to a new level for kids. Many decent food and drinks options are available inside. Fantastic Zoo with car safari option. Park is very well organized. There is balance between walk, drive and time for relax. I can recommend Baobab restaurant with very tasety food. For sure you need to visit bears, pinguins, monkeys and lions. Of course other animals are also interesting

Safari one trip we enjoyed here. Lion Safari was disappointing as dense trees didn't let you see anything in that enclosure. A day trip is more than enough to visit this zoo.

A great zoo with a lot to see and driving in your own car it was a really great experience. The animals seemed to have good sized enclosures. The dinosaur park was a great addition to this experience.

Fun and varied experience. Great for families. Reasonable food and snack prices. Bring a stroller if you are visiting with younger children. Plenty of walking.

Amazing zoo. It's worth visiting, especially for the Safari trips. We took our car in to the Safari area. I've also seen that there was a bus to the Safari Area. We got to see many lioness in the lion safari in a close range. But no lions. There is also a Dinosaur park attached to the zoo. Dinosaur s in the park are just the still sculptures and not the moving/animating ones.

It's a nice and big zoo with the possibility to go on a short safari. There is good food, ice cream, and a lot of toilets.

Great mix of drivibg around as well as walking. As most places in Denmark, amazing focus on kids as well as friendly staff.

I was impressed by the diversity and number of animals there, and surprised how the they adapted to the danish climate. I personally don’t like the traditional concept of zoo, but in this case the animals are out in the field with plenty of space to enjoy and have a good life. The driving safari experience is also very rewarding as we definitely have the feeling of visiting their habitat and not in a cage. Definitely recommended if you are visiting the area.

My son and husband LOVES all kind of animals and we had to pay this place as a visit (we live here and in Qatar). But after seeing the animals especially the Gorillas we felt so sad. They looked so depressed. The lions were also put in a very small area and locked there. This is just not acceptable and they should be provided more respect to the animals.

A zoo that I have visited many times. Well-kept animals, play areas for children, fast food restaurants, ice cream and fun throughout the year.👍

Very good experience for both adults and kids. Big area and worth the price. Some areas you can drive thru and see for example zebras and giraffes. Super nice ZOO.

Great zoopark for visiting with kids - not overcrowded and the roads are excellent for walking, plenty of toilets and playgrounds. We took the 1-hour safari bus tour first (recommended, buy tickets from the entrance) and then walked through the same animals by foot by using the prepared walking trails. All animals are well presented and the info stands are very well designed. Also the roads for walking are interesting, varying. You can spend the whole day there if your kids like animals.
