Last week, I went on a liveaboard in the Seychelles with Explorer 1. The liveaboard crew (Christophe, Julian and Halil) were very profesional and clearly have been working together for a long time to make this the best experience possible. The Explorer 1 is a made-for-purpose catamaran that is perfectly suited for diving. They only take a small number of divers, which means more attention to detail and less crowded dive sites. The itinerary made by Christophe made sure we got to all the best dive sites and we got to see all we wanted. We must have been very lucky, because all week we had calm seas, good weather and plenty of sea life. Whoever said that sharks are a rare sighting, clearly has not been diving in the Seychelles, as we saw sharks on virtually every dive (sometimes dozens of them on the same dive). The crew took us from Mahe to Praslin, then all the way to the North Atol Bird Island and then back to La Dique, hitting many dive sites on the way. Apart from sharks, we encountered a total of six (!) whale sharks. One of them kept swimming around our group for about ten minutes, which was truly a wonderful experience. Furthermore, we spotted a manta ray, many other rays, sea turtles, octopusses and much, much more. In between dives we were well taken care of, with delicious meals containing freshly caught fish, nice cabins and enough space to relax (in and out of the sun). Most of the dives were deep dives and sometimes they were a bit challenging, so I would recommend some diving experience and definately an advance open water certification (or higher) and the use of Nitrox (available on board). In conclusion, Explorer 1 really delivered on the perfect liveaboard experience. The Seychelles have beautiful diving options and this seems the best way to enjoy them!

Had a great 3 day trip with Christophe! If you want to get away from the resort divers and really dive the Seychelles Dive Explorer’s is the best, and only outfit with Nitrox. Highly Highly recommend.

I spent 7 nights during a Liveaboard tour here! Christophe, Hendrick and Khalil are great at their job! We chose divesites after the weather. Equipment is high quality, all of my gear was new! Cabin is clean and the AC cools it down so it's possible to sleep well during the night with the fan going. The food is great! We caught Bonito twice and had it for dinner.

We enjoyed the mini cruise. Christophe and Halil are a professional team, divers who guided us through nice spots. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The boat is new and tidy. Recommended!

Please update your page and google info! There is no address and no place, when you put google maps it brings you next to Pet Rescue but there is no Dive explorer. When i called i was told on the phone that they have no diving center but only rent equipment and i dont know where. So as i understood the website is old and not updated. Lost an hour of time and fuel to go around and search for it and drove from south for this diving. My advise here in Seychelles to call always before (i had to take a simcard). And google maps also is not updated on many roads.

Just finished a 6day 5night trip to Bird Island with Christophe and his wonderful crew. Was absolutely worth the trip to Bird as the dive sites out there were fantastic. Weren’t lucky enough for whale sharks this time, but did see pelagics on every single dive: Mobulas, large groups of eagle rays, nurse sharks, reef sharks, peppered morays, spotted snake eel, nudis, and even a guitarfish! Christophe is extremely knowledgeable and always made us feel in good hands. Khalil and Karim were so friendly and made the most wonderful food— usually fresh caught fish. Will definitely be back!

Just completed 6 day, 5 night cruise on Dive Explorer. The trip was brilliant in all respects. Khahil and Julian were fantastic - great hosts for the trip. The boat is very comfortable for a small group, food is usually freshly caught fish - very well cooked! DE can take you to out of the way places to dive so you are always the only ones in the water - great and rare these days. Plenty of curious marine life as well. Highlights; plenty of sharks and a huge Ornamental Eagle Ray and Guitar shark-ray. We loved it and would recommend to divers who like being a little bit less mainstream.

If you want to experience a real dive trip this is the place! I spent a week on Explorer 1 with Christophe and his team and it was a great experience! We were only 4 divers+3 crew so it was very genuine with a real dive focus. We went to places other boats dont go and had good guiding so that we could see incredibly much. The marine life was totally amazing and if more people knew about this trip we did I think Seychelles would definitively be more of a dive destination than it is today. We basically saw most stuff in the "marine life-folder" We saw sharks all dives(grey reef, nurse, white tip,...), schools of different types of rays, octopus, lobster and were surrounded by walls of colourful fish. The most special was though the many(I think 6!) encounters with whale sharks that came really close, I even had to get out of the way because of their curiosity. One time we even had one coming to our boat so we could put on snorkel and go in and snorkel with it. After some days at the boat I was almost so spoilt after seeing so much that I hardly even noticed the white-tip sharks anymore. The boat is perfectly suited for diving and the staff took well care of us. We got freshly caught fish for dinner, could relax at the boat and the crew shared their experiences. I also took Nitrox course and you could really notice that these guys are really in it for their passion for diving. Everything was very professional, flexible and there was a good atmosphere at the boat! This one is a unique experience that would not only get 5/5 but 10/10 at least! The trip was high above my expectations and I am so happy that I found this boat. Big thanks to Christophe and crew for an amazing week and all the best for your continued exploring adventures!
