In my experience New Vision was a disaster. The surgery went OK but during the removal of the temporary contact lenses some of the tissue from my left cornea was torn off. This caused me intense pain for several days. There was no acknowledgement of this and I was made to feel like I was the problem. After about a week of deep anxiety my eyes came good and I had excellent distance vision but needed glasses for reading which was not a surprise as I had been ntold this. I needed 1.5 which was an improvement on 2.5 . I was delighted and put all the difficulties behind me. During discussions leading to the surgery I was assured the correction would last 10 years minimum. OK that seemed reasonable. I was 63 at the time and I figured at 73 if I needed glasses again then so be it. Within 12 months my eyes for distance vision began to deteriorate. 18 months on I was back to my original prescription. 2.5 for reading and 1.5 for distance. The reason I am writing this review after a period of time is that a friend was considering eye surgery and sought my advice. I realised that I had done my community a disservice by not sharing my experience. I do not think I have any unusual characteristics that make me ineligible for laser surgery. In fact New Vision told me I was a perfect candidate. Take everything they say with a measure of salt. I hope if you go ahead that your experience is better than mine. Good luck with your decision.

Thrilled with my results. Goodbye glasses and contacts, I won't be missing you. Laser eye surgery (PRK to be specific) was the best thing I've ever done! The staff at NewVision, you are amazing. Thank you for always being so warm, welcoming and friendly. Dr Noel Alpins was very clear and concise relaying what was happening during the surgery, which was just under 10 minutes in and out. Each eye took 23 seconds. I recall the lovely nurses holding my hand during the entire surgery to comfort me - so sweet. If you're worried about the surgery, I would have to say it was the easiest part. The Xanax helped calm my nerves and the eye drops made me feel nothing the entire time. It's more the recovery that is quite uncomfortable, especially the first 3 days (in my experience). After my 3rd visit I removed the recovery lenses and this was the most uncomfortable feeling ever, but 10 minutes later it went away and the healing process began. Your eyes could vary with light sensitivity but this was all to be expected. After 7 days it improved significantly, with clarity clearing up each week that went by. Everyone's recovery process is different, and the staff reassured me of this. My previous vision was -2.75 both eyes, and now I'm happy to say my vision is better than 20/20. I wanted to be "contact lense-free" before my wedding and I'm glad I did this surgery leaving plenty of extra recovery time as it took roughly 8-10 weeks until I was seeing 100% clearly. Overall, the whole experience was very simple and the staff were extremely comforting at every visit. I would honestly do it again if I had to. I speak about this to everyone I meet. Couldn't be happier!

I had a wonderful experience at New Vision Clinics. All the staff were friendly and professional. I was well informed of the procedure and process in my initial consultation and wasn't pressured into making any decisions. I was looked after during the procedure and the post operative care was excellent with a good number of post op appointments to check the progress of my eyes. My vision is now better than 20/20 and I couldn't be happier! Thank you everyone at New Vision Clinics.

If you are considering laser eye treatment, I cannot rate Prof Alpins, George and Denise highly enough. My only regret is not doing this sooner. I am 47yo and 1year post op after having PRK laser treatment for astigmatism and short sightedness in both eyes (-4.25 and -4.75). I had worn contact lenses and glasses since I was 10yo, and for 6 months prior to the surgery, I had noticed that reading was also becoming more difficult (which was the catalyst for laser eye surgery as I did not want bifocals). My experience with New Vision, from my first appointment to my final check up, last week, has been an absolute dream. I have 20/20 vision in my left eye, and slightly less in my right eye, however reading has been corrected in my right eye, which was totally unexpected and amazing, resulting in not requiring any corrective lenses, even for reading! The actual procedure is very quick and absolutely painless with anethstetic drops, it was all over within 2min. The next few days were quite uncomfortable for me as due to an eye infection in my left eye which required pain killers for about 5 days but George was incredibly reassuring at my post op appointment, and even gave me a mobile number to call if I became too uncomfortable or had any worries outside of office hours. My eyes were light sensitive for a few months including at night with glare, but this improved over time, and now I have absolutely no light or glare sensitivity at all. I could not be happier with the result and would encourage anyone thinking of getting laser eye correction to go for it, as you will be in very good hands with these wonderful people.

It has been exactly a week since my lasik eye surgery, and I honestly could not be happier with my results. To be able to get up in the morning, and not have to reach for my glasses immediately, is still strange but amazing. The lovely team at NewVision Clinics were able to give me better than 20/20 vision, and that is something I definitely am not taking for granted! The entire team, from Denise who booked my appointment, to the reception ladies, to the experts who performed on my eyes and my post-op appointment, a huge and sincere thank you!
