My
family
of
four
ate
here
twice
while
staying
at
the
Constance
Ephelia.
The
lunchtime
sushi
experience
was
outstanding
and
my
daughter
pronounced
the
salmon
maki
the
best
she
had
ever
had.
The
tuna
sashimi
was
delicious
and
the
miso
soup
was
beautiful.
Really
wonderful
work
by
the
sushi
chef
and
team.
We
returned
today
for
dinner
-
and
chose
the
full
tasting
menu
(a
3.5
hour
affair).
Again,
it
was
really
good
-
but
not
perfect
this
time.
Some
of
the
ingredient
combinations
we
felt
just
didn’t
quite
work
(mashed
potato
with
stunning
Spanish
red
prawn?!)
and
a
vital
ingredient
was
forgotten
from
our
otherwise
faultless
scallop
carpaccio
(finger
limes
were
brought
to
the
table
later
when
we
explained
that
we
thought
(knew)
they
had
been
forgotten).
Presentation
was
excellent
though.
Service
was
good
though
sometimes
slow.
Shout
out
to
the
excellent
and
amusing
bread
waiter.
The
star
staff
member
was
definitely
Julien,
the
sommelier.
He
found
us
wine
to
match
our
dishes
and
made
some
really
excellent
choices
(the
first
Chenin
Blanc
was
exceptional!).
He
was
friendly
and
helpful
and
clearly
really
passionate
about
his
job.
Apologies
if
we
took
too
much
of
his
time
-
but
we
were
an
appreciative
audience.
So,
4,
not
5
stars.
An
excellent
-
though
wildly
expensive
-
think
Fat
Duck
prices
without
the
three
Michelin
star
quality
-
lunch
and
evening
-
but
with
some
flaws
that
could
be
fixed.
Ditch
the
mash
with
prawn
and
look
for
Mediterranean
flavours
-
or
go
further
East
and
use
some
punchy
Thai
flavours
perhaps.
