Small market , sells tasty local fruits, vegetable and spices. It is also a fish market so it stinks of dead animals, but it is part of the experience. #vegan

Worth spending half hour in this iconic market. You will find all exotic fruits from locals, souvenirs, local dishes near the market in the street, freh fish.

Nice and colourful market in the center of Victoria with some shops around. You can buy fresh fish, fruits, spices, flowers and more. On the second floor you find clothing and souvenir shops. Worth a visit.

The epitome of a classic market. Incredible fresh fish, loads of great fruits and souvenirs. Early morning is definitely best time to attend. Must see this perspective of Seychelles.

It's small, they all have the same things, and they aren't cheaper than they would be at the grocery store (they definitely have prices for locals and prices for tourists, since they aren't displayed). Still nice to visit if you have nothing else left to see I guess

Nice local market for fruits, vegetables, fresh and dried fish, herbs, spices in ground and Souvenirs, Gifts and cloths on 2nd floor. Very crowded, many impressions for eyes and nose and an absolute must See, when you visit Victoria! Highly recommend to take a Look or two!

The Victoria market is at the hear of the Mahe town, in here you feel close to being a seychellite! You have everything that any market place in any part of the world that can offer - Vegetables, fruits, fish, Grocery, Clothes, Electronics, Banks and any consumer needs. It took us around 30-40mins to check-out the market and purchase some souvenirs (quite expensive and almost no bargain) Tip: carry sufficient water on your tour, since water is an expensive commodity in Seychelles. The local clothes didn't really appeal too much and we didn't buy any clothes as such, you could try some shoes though from the many apparel stores. But shopping is something which I would not recommend at Seychelles!

Bustling, colorful crowded market place for all types of local produce, fruits, vegetables, spices and seafood. On the first floor, one can shop for souvenirs and handicrafts.

Busy little market. Bit touristy in parts but that's expected. Very fresh fruit and vegetables if you are impressed by that sort of stuff :-) The vendors aren't very pushy though and you can enjoy a walk around the place in peace.

Mainly fish and vegetable market. Some vendors selling spices, chutneys and chili sauce. Fish is fresh. For 50 - 75 SER it got gutted and cleaned, ask for it. Vendors selling packs of 5 fishes for 200 SER.. Usually two fine and three so so fishes. A 2.5kg Red Snapper is around 300 SER and absolutely delicious. No choice of seafood aside plenty of selection of fishes. For vegetables checks the stalls outside of the market hall. Seemed to me that quality is slightly better. Inside the market hall ignore the chutneys and chili sauce, they have a blunt taste, super salty and over priced. Sum up: good buying fish and vegetable anything else not really interesting.

It's a mission to find parking to get to this place. There's a small lot near Boba Republic but its got more taxi spots. We used a parkade located a few blocks away. The times on Google do not correspond, we got there 1.5 hours before closing & most stalls were packed up. The stench is expected as there is a fish market side. With what we could see, some lovely fresh produce & souvenirs like spices, tea, honey & vanilla. Worth the cultural experience if you're into that kind of immersion when traveling. The area around the market is busy due to shops & traffic can be quite intense. Little regard for pedestrians.

Very nice open air market. Fish, fruits, vegetables, etc on the lower level. Clothing and other shops on the upper levels.

This is one of those old style markets so typical to sea nations and so unusual to standard inland european. For me, first time seeing such live and of course it cannot be compared to any documentary movie. Fish, herbs, spices, fruit, vegetables, essential oils and all kind of local products in one place. So colorful to the eye, so rich to the smell :) Did not have chance to visit early in the morning, yet it was very nice experience. Small market but definitelly has the spirit.

It’s not a place I would recommend to tourists unless they want to do grocery shopping. The smell of spices, food and fish was all overwhelming for me. But there’s a gorgeous temple right outside the market. Well worth a visit.

Its an okay market. The fresh fish selection looked good, there are some fruits and spices and thats about it. Victoria itself is the least interesting part of the island (for a tourist at least)

Will you cook in the Seychelles? Get up early and shop here. Some of the best fish and fruit we have ever eaten. BTW, don't be frightened by the birds around the fish. They're basically working here - destroying insects and any fish debris.

Just as many market on the world, colorful, many locals items, fish, vegetables, souvenirs and more. It's a good place to shopping if you do self catering. It's worth to see.

In my opinion, its the main attraction of Victoria. Fortunately most of the attractions are close to the Sir Selwyn Clarke market and easy to reach by foot.

Good variety of fruit and fish, nice souvenir shops on the first floor. Many home made items, fairly reasonable prices, sellers mostly not too aggressive. Colorful place to visit if only for the photos and the atmosphere. Recommended if you visit Victoria.

Nice Market with great market atmosphere! I really enjoyed strolling past the various displays of foods, fish and vegetables. I would recommend to come as early as possible to still see and maybe buy some fresh fish!

A real market for locals not tourists. (Although upstairs there are lots of shops selling souvenirs and clothing at reasonable prices. ) Good quality veg and great fish. We bought a big Jack fish for 100r/s, enough to feed 4 people. Tell them you want it filleted and a young guy will do that too, ( we gave him 50rs tip).

Sir Selwyn-Clarke Market is located in Victoria which is the town and capital of the Republic of Seychelles, located on the northeastern coast of Mahé Island. This market caters to fresh fishes of almost all varieties. The response it bit slow in service, but wonderful and cheerful people.

Very exotic market Be careful when you pay with euro or dollar the rate the sellers give is sometimes not the best The best time to come here is on the morning before it gets hot and the smell of the fish attracts all the bugs in the area The place is not big you can cover the whole market in 10 minutes For gifts try the second floor there are some nice shops Don't miss the part when the birds eat the fish directly from the tables

We visited the place as it was denoted as a „must visit in Victoria“. I was negatively surprised how small the market was. Due to Covid all souvenir shops were closed. The smell of dead fish and blood was disgusting. I saw a man washing his dirty blade in a bath of fish blood. They tossed a lot of fish heads just to the ground were birds picked the dead fish and you can imagine were the badly smell came from. I would not have a good feeling buying fish there. For me it was definetely not a must see (and smell).
