Stunningly beautiful walk through cool virgin fern and moss filled forest. Good walking tracks, but wear sensible outdoor shoes as the track can be slippery and muddy. The suspension bridge walk is an absolute must do. The longer you take, the more you see, so go slow and enjoy.

Very secluded national park, absolutely brings you back into Stone Age. Hence this is a great place to come during Covid, because there aren’t a lot of people. So you can enjoy the beauty of nature and indulge yourself in some quietness. The corrigan suspension bridge is a must go if you come here, because the views are extraordinary. However, there is literally no restaurants or cafes around, so bring some food to eat at the picnic area. Overall a great escape to the nature.

Beautiful national park in Gippsland region. Have a big visitor center and picnic area. Numerous short walking tracks in the forest and to the suspension bridges. You can have a picnic in Tarra valley area too and expore the waterfalls as well. Good to spend a day in the nature to chill and relax or have a family gathering/picnic. Not many other activities, so 1 day is enough in the area.

A pleasant delight finding out about this national Park while camping in the area. There are a few short walks that are suitable for taking kids, and then a couple of longer walks (2-4km) that you can do in a loop. Definitely recommend visiting if you're around

Fantastic 6.6 km hike from visitor center to suspension bridge then double back to Lyrebird trail. You can grab a map from the visitor center tin box if it is not open. Track is wide but it can get boggy and has some decent inclines - what goes down must come up. Good hiking boots and socks highly recommended. Plan for a picnic at the end. Lots of tables and a BBQ area at the visitor center car park.

Definitely recommend this park. I didn’t read much about it before I came but it is a full on rainforest. I happened to be here on a day when it was lightly raining which was actually the perfect day. Be advised most trails were muddy. I did 2 (bridge and forest trail) and both were muddy. For forest, it was even a bit slippery at times so probably not good for people who aren’t good on their feet. Also, just to note, check your legs periodically for leeches. I pulled a good 20 pr so off me throughout my hike. They are the skinny kind and they kind may your way up your leg, so you just grab and flick them off

The Tarra-Bulga National Park is a joy to visit if you're into nature and hiking. The tree ferns make a beautiful green backdrop to the giant mountain ashes throughout the park. There are trails that are well-marked and clear and go throughout the park. There are also many picnic tables and even electric bbqs at the Tourist Visitor Centre and another feature is the Suspension bridge which is well visited. Tarra falls is another quick stop.

This is such a beautiful walking spot. The views are so lovely and the sounds of the creeks are so calming. I love the moody atmosphere of this forest/park. The trail is not too intense, so it is suitable for most fitness levels. Definitely worth a visit if you're around the area.

One of the best national parks within 90 mins drive from Melbourne.. temperate rainforest foliage.. very accessible for young and old.. All key walks can be done within 2 hours.. mobile coverage is very poor.. no food or water available.. Great picnic spot as it has undercover bbq area and heaps of tables and benches.. short 20-30 min drive from Traralgon..

The forest is wonderful and well worth a visit. The park facilities are worn out and way overdue for maintenance or replacement. Use the not very good toilets at the Bulga visitor centre, because the toilets in the Tarra section of the park are much worse.

Such an amazing national park in the middle of rainforests with a few nice walking tracks that are suitable for all fitness levels. The suspension bridge which has been surrounded by the green atmosphere was the most scenic part of the park with a stunning view. Highly recommended to visit if you are around the area.

Lush forest, lovely walks, staffed information centre, well maintained and working barbecues. Saw some amazing wildlife and fascinating fungi as well as huge and beautiful old trees. So many ferns it feels like a dinosaur could plod out of the foliage.

Very special pocket of Victoria. Love this lush rainforest valley and all the walks and waterfalls. Reminds me of my homeland of NZ, and we love visiting and exploring here.

Absolutely beautiful drive. Well worth the drive but don't forget to get out of the car. Amazing country.

This is a fantastic national park just a couple of hours drive outside of Melbourne CBD. We went on a wet day and even still being out in the trees and seeing the native flora and fauna in all their pretty colours was awesome. It’s just over 1km walk each way from the car park to the swing bridge but well worth the steep decline. Definitely a must do in Victoria

The Tarra-Bulga Scenic Circuit is an 8.2 km hike located in the Tarra Bulga National Park, Victoria. The circuit starts and ends at the Tarra Bulga Visitors Centre, and it took us approximately 3 hours to complete. 0ur walk was a journey through primeval rainforest, and the area features a combination of popular trails around the Visitor Centre. We started walking the Lyrebird Ridge Track. During our walk we saw stunning views of the forest, including a swing bridge and a picnic area. The national park is about 200 kilometers east of Melbourne but we were camping at Reeves Beach so it was relatively short drive via Tarra Valley Road/Bulga Park Road from Yarram. The roads were narrow and winding, offering scenic views, including panoramic views from Mount Tassie. The area is one of only four major areas of cool temperate rainforest in Victoria and is a haven for various wildlife, including birds like the pilotbird and yellow-tailed black cockatoo which were consistently around us during the walk. Overall, the Tarra-Bulga Scenic Circuit and the national park itself offered us a tranquil, peaceful, and meditative experience in a lush rainforest setting. I found it an excellent destination where we immersed ourselves in nature and enjoyed an easy to moderate hike.

Huge park to wander round but it is a rain forest!!! Great to be walking right next to the tree ferns. The massive mountain Ash trees. Fantastic views. I would recommend good walking shoes as some paths were steep and wet. A lack of volunteers meant some of the centres were closed but some bright spark had the walking maps available outside! Loved the information boards. Some of the steep paths were closed for safety reasons. No dogs allowed as they kill wildlife. Picnic and barbecue areas I saw were next to main car park.

Easy beautiful trail, such rich biodiversity! We were on mushroom watch the whole time to see how many different species we could find. Glorious when overcast and a little bit rainy (but maybe that’s just me). Would love to come back after some rainfall to see more running water! It was just so nice to be immersed in nature like this.

I had an afternoon drive from melbourne to Tarra Bulga national park. A visitor information centre on site but maybe closed if severe weather or short-staffed as they rely on volunteers. Toilet on site, tap water 🚰 had a strong head pressure, water not drinkable. There is an accessible track that can be used by a wheelchair. Dogs not allowed in the park. Parking available at the entrance. Peaceful as you walk along the tracks with the sounds of lyrebirds and the rustling of the leaves in the wind. Walk down to the suspension bridge and immerse yourself to the wonderful sight of the suspension bridge especially from the look out spot. You can take really good pictures here.

It's worth a national Park. If you're heading there for a day visit from Melbourne, start early in the morning. Pack some food with you to eat at the site. Then head to the forest and suspension bridge. There are steep slopes for walking. On your way you Will witness fallen trees on paths. If you have anyone for 45 years + consider extra time and think if they can make it. Overall enchanting forest experience. It's a very deep forest experience. Small waterfalls / fountains are unbelievably true. Take a seat for 15 mins when you're deep in experience.

Not the best signed place ever but still quite nice. Walks range in length but none are particularly short. Managed to go see the suspension bridge but other than that due to the weather, didn't continue to any other walks. Went to the visitors center and was disappointed by how run down the centre was comapred to other NPs (National Parks) in Victoria. Like all NPs it also doesn't have bins, anywhere. Personally, I feel the Great Otway NP was better and had nicer falls.

A really nice national park with great walks through natural rainforest. There is also a great drive along the Tara River on a narrow windy road with a few places to stop and admire nature.

Heaps of mini walks and trails to do around the suspension bridge and also to visit the 2 extra waterfalls further down the road. Very easy walks which can be completed in runners with some good forest views. Much cooler and slightly more humid than metro Melbourne so good way to escape the heat of summer.

Beautiful half day out, good walking track down to suspension bridge and stunning surroundings. Neat picnic area, good facilities. Peaceful, beautiful place, a balm to the soul. Will be going back.

Tarra-Bulga National Park is a state treasure. This jewel of nature is nestled in the Tarra Valley and is home to a staggering array of animals, plants and fungi. The walking tracks range from short and easy to long and challenging. You can walk for half an hour or for eight hours if you like. The park is a slice of temperate rainforest amidst mountainous terrain, not set out as a display garden or zoo-style sanctuary, so you might go around an entire track and not see a lyrebird or kookaburra, but if you're quiet and attentive you might be in for a lovely surprise. There are some wheelchair-accessible areas but most of the tracks are not. As I lack the experience to know what is a good wheelchair-accessible area I can't comment on more than the presence of accessibility signs. This is not a good place to go if you don't like walking or nature, but then if you don't like either of those then chances are good you're not looking to visit here anyway.

Beautiful. Highly recommend the cable bridge and walk through the southern beech rainforest.

The rainforest walk is magical. Don’t miss it. The valley and the river are so beautiful and peaceful! We did a few tracks and enjoyed every bit.

A beautiful location to experience the temperate rainforest and the giant mountain Ash trees with lyre birds and other wildlife. Definately worth the long trip out from Melbourne

Cool place even in hot days. There are few walking tracks through dense forest and one way leads to suspension bridge. There is toilet block and few picnic tables at car park.
