I am new to Texas and after hearing about this place I thought I'd see it for myself. Well, I can tell you that this place is sacred. It is truly humbling to see what others were willing to sacrifice to win their freedom and leave a great state for others. You often here about the Alamo but seldom about this Presidio. After all it accounts for one of the five points on the Lone Start of Texas.........worth a visit IMO.

It's a great walk through history. It's much bigger than I expected. The museum is full of information and they have lots of period pieces to take you in time. I didn't expect to see that in Goliad, Texas. I do recommend a visit if you're in the area.

What a wonderful visit we had here. It’s amazing to walk through a piece of history and to learn about it the people who settled in the area. It’s better than any history book!

Excellent!! We loved staying in the quarters and having the grounds to ourselves after hours. What a great place to unplug and dive into some fascinating Texas history!

I love Presidio LA Bahia. My very first visit was when I was in 5th grade and I remember they shot a cannon for us. Now as an adult I am fortunate to take groups of students here and they always walk away learning new things.

This was one of the most amazing expierences we have done as a family. We stayed the night at the quarters at after everyone went home we had access to the courtyard. We watched the sunset and enjoyed the beautiful quarters. We will definitely be back.

I have visited this place a few times and enjoyed it each time. I would suggest going in the cooler months so you can truly enjoy looking around the exhibits outside. My son loves looking around and the items in the gift shop. You can learn a lot of history and see a bunch of artifacts.

To enter within these walls is to enter into history in some small way. The artifacts displayed, the educational materials available throughout, and the structures themselves conveys the antiquity of the site.

We did not go into the Presidio but Zaragoza's birthplace museum. It was well done inside with the exhibit/graphic design. However on a hot summer day and at the end of our trip I'm afraid to admit our attention span was short, which can happen to most people, so do make the stop but keep these factors in mind!

I visited for the reenactment weekend and it was fantastic. Inside the grounds were period correct tents and many reenactors were eager to interact with the visitors. Saturday night featured candle light tours and history lessons. Sunday included the mock executions of the prisoners and Col. Fannin and a memorial service at the monument.Overall it was an outstanding program.

Very informative and well laid out. Lots of artifacts found during restoration. Active Catholic church on premises. Don't miss if you're into Texas history.

The Quarters at Presidio-La Bahia was everything we hoped for. We had fort to ourselves for the entire night. We went to Rudy's for a take out pizza because we did not want to miss the spectacular sunset. Being surrounded by the history of Presidio-La Bahia in solitude is difficult to explain. It is a unique sensation. The Quarters were clean and comfortable and the Presidio-La Bahia staff were very helpful and nice. The Goliad town square had nice shops and restaurants too.

There is a lot of history here at Presidio-La Bahia that had an impact on the path to Texas independence from Mexico. This place as well as the other surrounding historical sites is highly recommended for you to visit if you want to know more about the beginnings of the great State of Texas.

Visited Presido La Bahia in July and I very much enjoyed my experience. From the short video at the entrance, to all of the information throughout the museum, I learned alot of great information with plenty of great things to see. Being able to walk the entire sector was an awesome experience being on the walls and the grounds, including where Colonel Fannin was executed. I would absolutely visit this site again as it was a great experience with so much history. Special shout out to my furry museum guides pictured for being great hosts.

We took the tour, unintentionally, but happy that we did. There is an entry fee for a guided tour but not sure about the unguided tours. We paid $7 for 2 adults so not a big deal. Lots of history here.

My husband & I loved walking through the museum areas & the Chapel was one of the prettiest we have ever seen. 2 bus loads of teenagers showed up while we were on the grounds and it was impressive how the historical tour guides handled them. The sweet lady behind the counter that greeted us made us feel very welcome. We are so happy that we visited. Great video to start out the tour too.

What a wonderful day trip. The place was small and affordable with a small gift shop and the tour guide was really awesome ! We had a blast and are really glad that we spent some time walking around the presidio grounds.

Great education about the Presidio and the surrounding area! The volunteers who were in the Chapel were bottomless sources of information. Go, enjoy!

Texas history lovers know the massacre that took place here. The aura of sadness over what happened here remains, good place to visit and reflect on the sacrifices that took place to gain Texas independence. Upkeep of this fort and the grounds are impressive.

Very informative and well laid out. Don't miss if you're into Texas history. But get there early as the build closes at 430. Much to see and lots to take in.

Presidio La Bahia is owned by the Catholic church and charges a nominal fee for entrance. I though it was worth it. The museum is great and we went during an event called "fire on the border"(?). They had people dressed in period costumes who were great and informative. I wish the website was better, it seems to mostly focus on the room for rent.

Outstanding reenactment and the volunteers were incredible. This piece of Texas history is greatly overlooked.

The Presidio is an interesting place and one that tells the history of how the Texas Republic was formed and the battles with the armies of Mexico. It does cost $5 but there is a 50 cent discount for seniors.

Wonderful place to learn more about our Texas and national history really. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative, though a bit scripted.

Stayed the night. No television. Very peaceful. Ash, the resident cat is definitely a bonus.
