I have fond memories of eating at Maha and nobody ever did or will make lamb shanks that good! I had the best lamb shanks ever ever for dinner at Maha when dinner was more than salad! We ordered the scollops, salmon roe tart, salty doughnuts, chicken and corn dish and their donuts with walnut ice cream. It was a good meal overall but a one off for us. Only worth the calories again if it’s spectacular right!

Second time dining and sadly things have gone significantly down hill. We had the 7 course taster & everything except the last main and add-on king prawns were really bad. I’d only come 12 months earlier and had one of the best dining experiences in Melbourne. Even the drink mixes were not great. I paid a total bill of just over $500 for two people and wasn’t impressed at all. Wait staff were doing the best they could on a busy Saturday night.

Unfortunately our Maha experience tonight was disappointing. It was more of a food truck experience (As that is where all the food is coming from. It’s literally parked in the lane right next to the marquee).. Not what we wanted for our 20 year wedding anniversary. We couldn’t get a booking for the main restaurant but got one for Layla. How different could it be we thought. Well, it was, and not in a good way. From an entree of store bought flat breads to a main of one lamb kabob each then cubed watermelon as part of a desert , not unlike what we serve to our kids as an after school snack, all for just under $250 for 2 people is a bit of a joke. The waitress apologised the first three times she came to table due to the disorganised service. My advise would be, if you can’t sit in the main restaurant and order the full menu, don’t bother going. Lucky to be getting 2 stars

We are not sure if there were other options as we were not given the choice but were advised after booking, and through email, we would be required to have the 5 course set menu. This was $120 ahead. So we were aware we would be up for $240. We had a $200 voucher. At the end, our bill was close to $430! The wine we chose was nothing special, but priced outrageously. The meal itself was ok, middle eastern dishes infused with middle eastern flavours - created to look like fine dining. For over $400 (including weekend surcharge of $38), we were left shaking our heads thinking we could have taken the whole family out to a nice steakhouse and had money left over. They also have a drinks menu priced at $75pp - a selection of wine to match each course. But if you're driving, it's really not an option. We have dined extensively throughout Melbourne, some top notch restaurants, and have never paid such an amount for two people. Like we said, the food was ok but it just left a sour taste after the bill. The staff were attentive though. Perhaps the lack of flexibility with the set menu, the weekend surcharge and high prices on wine are the result of the pandemic as it appears they wanted to ensure that revenue is a certainty in a two hour sitting. We will not be returning and advising family and friends of our very expensive experience.

What an amazing experience. Superb ambience, super duper food and extremely courteous servers. Me and my wife celebrated my birthday here today and we had to get our food customised quite a bit due to my allergies and my wife's dietary requirements but the chef produced some amazing dishes outside of the set menu to accommodate all our needs. He went of the way to clear out the table and kitchen to ensure there is nothing in the dish that I am allergic to.. blown away by the professionalism. This is a gem in Melbourne and must visit if you have time and If you are around!!

One of the best restaurants. Had the lunch time banquet menu- the hero was the slow cooked lamb dish in the mains (sorry did not take a photo of it, too eager to eat it). The entrees were also exceptional. A lot of food for lunch, which was great. Didn’t have space for desert, but when I saw the Turkish donut, I had to have it - mmm. I will definitely be heading back.

An Unforgettable Birthday Experience at the Finest Middle Eastern Restaurant I have ever been to, I must say it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant until the last bite of our delicious meal, the service was nothing short of exceptional. The restaurant had an inviting and warm ambiance, with Middle Eastern-inspired decor that created a cozy and intimate setting. The soft lighting added to the overall charm of the place, making it the perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration. The service at this restaurnt was truly outstanding. From the moment we were seated, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready with a smile. Our server took the time to explain the menu and even provided recommendations based on our preferences. The attention to detail and genuine care shown by the staff made us feel like we were the most important guests in the restaurant. Now let's talk about the star of the show—the food! The Middle Eastern cuisine served at this restaurant is beyond compare. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavors that danced on our palates. From the aromatic spices to the perfectly cooked meats and the abundance of vegetarian options, every bite was a delight. The presentation of the dishes was also impeccable, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. The standout dish that I cannot stop raving about is the slow roasted lamb shoulder accompanied by the grilled spring beans. It was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that left us craving for more. Another highlight was the wide variety of vegetarian options available, which catered to the dietary preferences of our group. The restaurant's commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients was evident in every dish, and it truly elevated the dining experience. In conclusion, my birthday celebration at this Middle Eastern restaurant was an absolute delight. The exceptional service, inviting ambiance, and exquisite cuisine combined to create an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic Middle Eastern culinary adventure. Whether it's a special occasion or simply a desire to indulge in extraordinary flavors, this establishment is sure to leave a lasting impression. I cannot wait to return and create more cherished memories at this remarkable restaurant.

My first time dine in at Maha, and I enjoyed it so much. Located underground, we are welcomed warmly upon entering the restaurant. Decorated mostly in black and dark makes this place feels more luxurious. We have the Soufra 3 course menu which is delightfully palatable. Begin with a drink (a list of non-alcoholic beverage is available) we then have our first 3 canape as the snack that has extra charged. All of them are amazing, truly. Next we have the Meza, consists of 6 choices of plates. Hummus with the bread, lamb sausages, fish, tomato, and fried asparagus. My favourite is the hummus and the asparagus. Get into the main course we choose the slow roasted lamb which comes up with an assorted sautee vegetables and aged rice. I really love the aged rice btw. Last but not least, we close our dining experience with lovely dessert, the turkish delight filled doughnut and walnut ice cream, and a dark chocolate fudge. Completed my course with a cup of long black at the end, and I am a very happy customer.

Before we even started our meal the service was already poor. The staff did not make us feel comfortable upon seating or throughout the meal. The ambience of the restaurant is really beautiful, smooth lounge music makes the space a comfortable place for a meal. The food was enjoyable but was missing the wow factor that you'd expect for fine dining. Would have definitely made a return visit if it weren't for the attitude of the staff.

We went to the restaurant last night. We loved how nice and welcoming they were at the beginning. We were given small amount of food and had few rounds of drinks until we were told we won’t be served drinks anymore with no reason. I believe they tried to fit another booking in. They then brought a receipt for $1,400! The receipt had no details of items only broad descriptions and we tried to find the prices for each and they started making things up. The chef came out and started telling us off. Very disappointed with the service received as it felt like they added amounts and once the booking was finished they told us off and to leave! I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone nor be back again.

Expensive but worth it! We came here for our 1 year anniversary, and it's definitely what I would classify as a 'special occasion' place, from the moment you walk in its 10/10. The atmosphere was on point, you walk down the steps and enter into a beautifully lit room, nice background music, and it's not too loud (a pet hate of mine is when you go out for a meal and can't hear the person you are sitting opposite!). We started at the bar with a beautifully presented cocktail. And then when we were taken to our table by the lovely waitress. Every staff member knew about the menu and what food they were bringing out and could talk to it so well but was also very personable. Then all the food! Everything that came out was presented so nicely and tasted even better. And there was just so much food! You will not leave hungry! I felt bad that we couldn't eat all the desserts by the end.

Excellent food, and simply the best service. Wait staff go above and beyond - from taking your coats to explaining the dishes, the team are the stats of the show. Food wise - Been here a couple of times now and always hungry for the hummus. It’s out of this world. This time round for dinner we had the soufra menu. Quality in everything on the table. Too many little dishes to mention but both dinner menus are a must try. Had the additional Turkish delight doughnuts.

This place was amazing and their high ratings are definitely well earned. The atmosphere was dark and moody and the service in my opinion was amazing. Our lovely server cleaned our table after every course and provided us with new plates and cutlery after every course, provided us with hot towels in preparation of our main course and was also lovely enough to provide us with a mini gift to take home among other things as we dined here for a friends birthday. The set menu allowed us to have a great variety of dishes that tasted amazing and took away the difficulty of having to choose foods and the drinks tasted even better. Maha was everything I expected + more.

Second time at Maha. The food was good, but for a restaurant touted as fine-dining I found the experience underwhelming. We had the banquet, for us the best dishes were the hummus and lamb, but the 'young' carrots were as much as you'd expect. If you like a sense of mystery the atmosphere does deliver, the entrance is inconspicuous and the lighting is dim, however I prefer to be able to see my food and the person I'm with. When we first arrived we asked to know more about the menu with some further explanation, but received a reply that it was written on the page in front of us and we could read it ourselves. If the room was more well-lit we probably could have. Whilst it wasn't a terrible experience, Maha wouldn't be the first place I'd go to for a special occasion at this stage.

Celebrated an anniversary here and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The dining room was very dimly lit, and had a lively yet intimate atmosphere. The wait staff were extremely professional and were able to guide us through the menu and dishes as they arrived. The tasting menu was well orchestrated, with the flow of dishes organised in such a way that made each dish come with new flavours, textures and temperatures. Standouts were the hummus and zaatar, Lebanese garlic and pumpkin dumplings, and the desserts, although all the other dishes were delicious too. Would highly recommend for a special night out.

Oh-MAHA-gahd have you tried Maha before?? 😱 This place has been on my list ever since we got takeaway through Providoor during lockdown (remember those times?) and yes, it really lived up to my expectations 💛💛💛 On the Soufra set menu: MEZA 💨 Smoked hummus, kombu & isot pepper dressing 🥖 House flat bread, za’atar 🍆 Lebanese lamb sausage, whipped eggplant & pomegranate 🍅 Grilled ox heart tomatoes, roasted prawn & chermoula dressing 🐠 Broadbill crudo, broad beans & citrus 🥬 Green asparagus, toasted spiced bread, whipped cod roe, aleppo pepper MAIN 🐑 Slow roasted lamb shoulder, smoked eggplant, za’atar & pine nut jus 🌱 Grilled beans, whipped garlic, lemon, za’atar 🍚 Aged rice, tomato & fermented capsicum, herbs, toasted almonds SWEET 🍩 Turkish delight filled doughnuts, rose honey, walnut ice cream 🍫 Dark chocolate fudge cake, orange blossom labneh My favourites were the lamb sausage with whipped eggplant and the lamb shoulder 🫶 Clearly the lamb dishes won my heart by a LAMB-slide 😏 I was so gutted when the waiter took away the rest of my eggplant dip before I could lick the bowl... (I should have e-LAMB-inated him 😡) The veg dishes were also delicious, if only I could get the chef to spill the BEANS on how they get the crunch on their veg (it also helps that they douse their greens in sauce and garlic!) 😋 I am also a big fan of how Middle Eastern dishes include generous sprinkles of almonds, pine nuts and pomegranates - in a NUTSHELL I like bite to my food! Or maybe my friend is NUTTY for not liking crunchy food - surely she's the only one out there? 😵‍💫 The dessert worked out perfectly - the boss smashed the doughnuts and I ate all the ice cream. Dream team. ✌️

I went here for my 21st birthday with my boyfriend and had such an amazing experience. The service was wonderful, we had a lovely waiter that gave us great recommendations and educated and explained the food we were eating. She was so nice and professional. The atmosphere was so cosy, comfortable and intimate, the place was decorated so nicely and lighting was dimmed. I tried so many new flavours and dishes and I loved them all, it was such a nice way to experience modern middle eastern cuisine. It was such a treat to go to a nice restaurant and taste such beautifully thought out food, I didn't even feel out of place or anything, it was such a mix of people and felt really comfortable. They gave us their bread flour and recipe to take home which I think is a great touch to make your customers feel special and part of the family.  I can't wait to come back here again, was truly an unforgettable experience for me that was made so special. The owner has really thought about what they want this restaurant to be and it shows through their food, service and overall experience. Amazing work Maha!

We ordered the Premium Soufra from Providoor, so this review isn't on the entire restaurant experience. Given what we received, we most likely will venture in to their real life establishment. Recommended.

First time out after the lock down, celebrated an anniversary with my partner. The outdoor part is quite nice, cannot be compared with the inside though, as the restaurant indoor is majestic. Food is quite simple. Definitely overpriced. The food I enjoyed the most from the set menu were prawns, espárragus and pickled cucumber, the rest was so-so.

The food at Maha is incredible, even as a take home package during lockdown. Restaurant quality at home 💛 Maha Spotify playlist added to the experience at home 💛 The smoked hummus, chocolate mousse and prawn ravioli were my favourites. I look forward to eating in when restrictions ease up to have the full Maha experience.

A must try when in Melbourne, One of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne and one of the very few places in that range to even have much variety for people opting for Vegetarian or Vegan versions! While we have experienced this place a few times and every time it was different, it was always delicious and even the one we ordered through Provision, they made sure that they are providing exceptional value! Keep up the great work guys, The staff are always friendly, although understandably due to Covid they have a certain amount of timing for sitting and just make sure you are able to finish all the good was by then as we struggled last time 😬😊🙏

We ordered our meal through Providoor and couldn’t be happier. The four course meal that was delivered came with full easy to follow instructions, complementary non alcoholic beer and gorgeous poster. The food delivered was extremely generous and we loved it. We felt so special. Thank you Maha, looking forward to dining in your restaurant.

We had the 3 course set menu and could not fault any food. The whole experience from entering the door to leaving was extraordinary. From hummus, Maha bread rolls with za’atar, the taste of every grain of rice and with that lamb shoulder that melts in your mouth, you cannot go wrong by going to Maha.

Great staff, wonderful service. Staff have a good sense of humour while still being very professional. Food was quality, full of flavour, and servers had knowledge of dishes and substitutions were made without any issues catering to our specific dietary requirements. Recommend to try it out Thanks all Maha staff

The vegan soufra menu was the best food I’ve had in a long time. Such a fabulous experience with outstanding service. It’s a lot of food - so best to go very hungry. My partner did the wine pairing which he thoroughly enjoyed and the cocktails I had were also fantastic. Obviously it’s expensive but well worth it for a special occasion. What a treat to be able to experience such fine dining as a vegan! Can’t wait to go back.

5 stars all round for the food and service. Staff were all extremely welcoming and attentive. Each dish was explained to us, and the table and cutlery were cleaned between courses (we were even provided with warm hand towels and a lovely citrus hand spray, which was a lovely touch). Honestly, I can't rave enough about our food or experience and could not fault in any way besides the lighting, if at all... Lighting was pretty dark, which would make for a fabulous romantic mood (though not so necessary between a group of friends or when trying to take photos of your exceptional dishes). We had the set menu with the chicken upgraded to a lamb dish (an absolute must!). Loved the variety of dishes and flavours, which were all absolutely divine! Especially appreciated not having to decide what to order (so we could enjoy our long overdue catchup) and that dishes were all halal. Each item was so well considered in terms of complimentary flavours and textures and beautifully presented. We were pleasantly surprised at how full and completely satisfied we were by the end of our meal. The little gift at the end was a wonderful reminder of a fabulous evening. See you again next time!

The most sublime and amazing dining experience. Food was exquisite and plentiful (so come hungry), staff were very attentive and cocktails were delicious. We chose the Soufra menu and added the snacks supplement course and the grilled prawns. What an absolute delectable feast. A very memorable experience. The ambience is so beautiful. A stunning restaurant. Cannot wait to go back again.

Great dining experience! We did the SOUFRA $95 PP and the portions, tasting menu, service, ambience was spot on. It’s a great place to catch up and celebrate with good food and people. They serve the food at a good pace so you’re actually able to build conversations over a great meal. We didn’t realize that we ended at 10PM already and started at 6:45PM. I only got a photo of the dessert because the conversations just kept coming. Would definitely come back!

Heard a lot about this place but unfortunately there are few things that were dissapointing. Well! I give 2 star because their mocktails are good, however the size of them was like their food: very small. Even too small for a fine dining restaurant. Their Humus was tasty. But the rest of our experience was disappointing. Group of us including my 6 years old child. We had two options for the main food "Vegan" or Lamb/Chicken (you can't pick both meats!). Majority of us were vegetarian and we were all given Carrot and Pumkin with rice! There is no creativity in the kitchen. There are tens of ingredients that you can offer to your Vegetarian customers. Not every vegetarian is a vegan. You need protein and not just a couple of vegetables. And besides the food for which is the main reason I gave them a 2 star, lighting is not enough to read the menu considering that my eyes are 10/10 vision , they didn't have anything for my child except chips! They didn't even put a plate in front of my little one as we had a banquet which is so rude and just plain weird to not include a child as a person and part of a banquet. The space is very tiny and tables and chairs are packed. Staff not really friendly and hardly smiling except the lady that welcomed us at the door. I don't recommend this place.

We love Middle Eastern food and wanted to enjoy something special - Maha delivered. We were greeted quickly on entry and shown to our table, The food options were helpfully explained to us and we chose the Tasting Menu to try a bit of everything. Literally every dish was super delicious, elaborate but not overwhelming. Their creative use of a complex range of ingredients produced exceptional, well-balanced, complementary flavours and textures that excited our tastebuds. Many dishes were beautifully presented too. Our favourites were the Spanner Crab Cigar, Cured Tuna and the he Port Lincoln Octopus. Staff were friendly and so attentive throughout the visit, with every dish explained to us as they arrived. The decor and atmosphere were on point for mood creation, great for dates and intimate gatherings. The experience was quite a standout and certainly memorable. Note I'm tempted to try the other Mahas in the Delia Group.

I never considered middle-eastern fine dining until my sister's partner came to Melbourne to try out our amazing food culture. Maha was highly touted and we thought "why not" and gave it a shot. The current reviews were amazing and glowing and when you go to Maha that is exactly how you feel. When dining at a good restaurant the food, drinks and service need to be equally high in quality. Suffice to say, all these elements are working in tandem when we went and would recommend for any special occasion or if you just want to splurge out a little. We ordered the $95 Soufra 3 course meal and left satisfied with the quantity and quality of food. If you were really hungry i would imagine the additional "snacks" for $20 per person would be worth it or the $150 5 course option. Highlights were: 1) The bread. We wish we got more 2) Chicken (main course), tender and delicious 3) All the desserts - Turkish delight filled donuts, enough said. Keep up the great work Maha and i hope to come again in the future.

Fantastic ambience once your eyes adjust to the darker surroundings, stunning menu and the food quality flavours were beautiful. Service overall is good with an exception of one of the waiting staff seemingly intent on pushing us to buy a super expensive bottle of red which just seemed odd to experience. With a nice range available, perhaps it's worth asking our price range we're looking to pay for a bottle. An innocent mistake perhaps but those instances do leave an impression.

Wow, wow and wow! I can’t say Mediterranean cuisine is on the top of my list when visiting western countries but I am so glad I didn’t skip this amazing gem! Atmosphere and service were absolutely fantastic. It’s a very modern chique design which is on the louder side and just filled with people’s energy. Now the food! Just bomb! Everything was bomb! From drinks to food just a solid 100% yes. Get it all.

This was a dining experience second to none. Scarlett our waitress took such good care of us. We ordered the chicken and they accidentally brought us the lamb, but then to rectify they brought out the chicken as well and only charged us for the chicken. All the food was so amazing, the best hummus and lamb ive ever had. Thank you so much Scarlett and the team for making my graduation day so memorable 😊❤️

Such a great experience. Venue design is astonishing and lighting is super great. Started with some snax which the olive was the high light for us. Some delicious sweet and sour mocktail paired up with Turkish delights…yum! Entree of house made flat bread with 2 dips which were both sour based and great. Wagyu main was cooked to perfection! Great portion with two and paired up with some delicious side salad. We enjoyed our time! Thank you team ^_^

Food and service were impeccable. Kenny, our waiter, was very knowledgeable and personable. The manager also. Despite not reserving a table they were able to squeeze us in after several other restaurants turned us away. Highly recommended. Exceeded expectations. Slow roasted lamb shoulder was an excellent choice, as were all the dishes.

We did the set menu for 2 with wine pairing for 1 which cost us a little under $500 for lunch. Food was underwhelming. The Middle Eastern components were not really there and seemed like an afterthought. Good food but nothing special.

Back here tonight for my birthday! We visited 4years ago and just like the first time it was AMAZING!!!! My husband and I had the souffra set menu and added "snack" which was the prawns dish. Food - 5/5 Everything outstanding, could not fault anything! Service - 5/5 Sabina our waitress was very helpful answering all our questions, attentive and professional Atmosphere - Good, I just wish it wasn't so dark and everyone having to use flash to take those insta worthy pics! Bathroom was very clean and fresh smelling. For the amount and quality of food, totally worth it!

I'm not one who usually leaves reviews, but this place certainly deserves all 5 stars. The food was incredible, delicious, and filling. We had the base set menu, with ad-on snacks. The restaurant was accommodating to my husbands dietary preferences and substituted his seafood dish for the vegetarian option menu ones. Simply outstanding service. The wait staff were fantastic, attentative, and knowledgeable. The vibe was gorgeous, dimly lit, and intimate. Would gladly return to eat here again.

Great tasting burger as part of the lunch time special. Chips were exceptionally good. Only reason I didnt rate as 5 stars was due to being charged $8 per person for water. Maybe I'm not used to restaurants that do this, but it wasn't clear at the time that we would be charged for this. However this didn't spoil our overall experience at lunch today.

I almost missed it along Bond street, at low light was hard to read the name on the door. I remember more the 'touch to open' sign. When I got inside I was greeted promptly and escorted to our table. Decided on the 6-course meal, no regrets with this decision. Every single meal was delicious and tasty. Thank you for swapping lamb to fish just for me. I am not a fan of lamb and it was no fuss to serve fish as a substitute for one person. Table service was impeccable, food came at a steady pace and staff knew their dishes well. The bread and hummus were to die for, I could've had just that for dinner and I would've been happy. Perhaps, the only suggestion is offering alternative dessert with the 6 course, a chocolate fan here. Nice touch of the donut with turkish delight as a birthday extra for a friend - reason why we were out for dinner.

Fabulous place. They cater for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores as well as pescetarians. We celebrated a friend's birthday here. Food was amazing. Service is perfect, attentive but not intrusive. Decor is beautiful and it's peaceful. One can actually talk instead of shouting at each other above loud music. The 4 course banquet, which consisted of many small sharing plates, was what we decided upon. It was a great choice. Can't remember having such a delicious meal as this for a very long time.

Came to Maha the week before valentines and the service was impeccable and the food was delicious and faultless. Ingrid was very hospitable and Chris was Accommodating. . Nick ensured outstanding dining experience that I have never personally experienced. Consequently Maha has the outstanding reputation that it has because they know how to treat their customers. Very highly recommended.

Food was amazing and very good value. The 7 course banquet with wine pairing was incredibly good and the staff were highly knowledgeable about the wines. The atmosphere is nice and calm, music is a nice level so you can still talk to people across the table without having to shout and the drinks were delicious also. Highly recommended.

Great service and quality cocktails. The bartender was very attentive and social. The food was tasty but was unfortunately missing that 'wow' factor I'd been anticipating, especially considering the price of the set menu. Dessert and snacks were add ons and their was an added 'weekend' table surcharge on our bill at the end of the night. Don't expect to be heading home in a food coma as the portions wouldn't be considered generous. Overall, the food was tasty and the service exceptional however I am a bit iffy about the pricing of the meals.

The vegan degustation was amazing. The quantity and quality of food was outstanding - we left thoroughly stuffed with the 5 course menu, I can’t imagine how you could fit in the optional extra courses. At $130 a head it’s certainly not cheap, but worth it for a special occasion.

Alot of friends of mine had strongly recommended to try this place, so we finally did and boy it did not disappoint. Their Soufra Menu is simply superb, from the Salmon kibbeh neya to the Lamb shoulder to their signature Turkish Delight donuts and more. All the courses were so unique, well presented, had a wonderful aroma filling the air and full of flavour. On top of that, the dim lighting combined with the feint RnB music in the background gave off a relaxed and romantic ambience. Special thank you to Dirk for looking after our table, friendly and professional. Can't fault this place at all. Definitely will be back!

Have never been before and was invited by friends. Maha is Middle Eastern fine dining with a dimly lit classy atmosphere. The servers are knowledgeable with great attitudes - my table had Dirk explaining the menus, cocktails and when the food came out told us what each dish was, what his favourite is and how to pair it. This was amazing for someone like me who doesn’t know much about middle eastern food. And it was all delicious!! I loved their signature Pomegranate Sour cocktail (on menu for ten years!), Wagyu soured chickpea crumpet, Truffled fava, smoked fish, almonds & herbs with Maha bread and the Turkish delight doughnuts! Honestly though the service is what made my night - Dirk was amazing! He offered to take photos of our group (we were there for my friends birthday), he had a few laughs with us and was just a great guy. Photos do not do the food justice!!

Maha food is superior. We had one of the banquets, which exposes the gourmand to the wonders of its menu. Fresh, imaginative and varied; the experience is definitely worthwhile. It’s not cheap, but the food more than makes up for the increased expense. I would highly recommend a visit if it’s affordable. A beautiful place to relax with great food, served by friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. We have tried MahaGo through Providor during the second Covid lockdown and the food was still great despite my clumsy attempt at reheating and plating. So, when the lockdown ended, Maha was one of the first restaurant we visited. It was absolutely fabulous. We had the dinner soufra at $120 pp. As you can see from the pictures, the servings are quite generous. Everything is good except for the flat beans in the fattoush (salad) - the beans were tough! There are several standout dishes for us, dishes that we can eat over and over again - the sublime truffled fava and smoke fish dip with the nutty bread, the beautifully cooked Hapuka, the tender lamb with crunchy nuts, the chewy donut with Turkish delight. As we left the restaurant, we were given a surprise gift - a thoughtful gesture. We felt we just had dinner with hospitable friends who served us a long table full of good food to eat :)

For a restaurant with such a thorough booking system (they take your credit card number before acccepting a booking, there is a warning that you have to vacate your table after an allotted time et c) you would expect that you would be seated on time. We waited at the bar to be seated for 40 minutes, having arrived 10 minutes prior to our 8.15pm booking. While we were waiting we tried to catch waiters eyes to see what was going on, but reassurance or guidance wasn’t forthcoming. I really hated that part of our Maha experience. The food: -Prawns were amazingly umami -Turkish Donuts had a silky, chewy texture, which I liked. Was this experience worth $665? (2 extra courses, 2 drinks each). That depends on your income and your expectations. I thought the food and ambience were pretty good but the service was lacklustre. The first waiter pretty much threw our mezze selection on the table. We asked for a glass of white wine from a young waitress who clearly didn’t know what she was talking about and recommended the most expensive thing on the menu.

This place is as good as service and food gets. I’m truly stunned in terms of how well presented, value and punctuality of the food that comes out of the kitchen. The waitress who served us was also welcoming and friendly, gave good suggestions and ensured we were comfortable. We had the Soufra package (see pictures below) as well as the oysters. All outstanding. I requested for candles to be put on the dessert but they went beyond what I asked for and sent out two extra orange blossom cakes with candles as well as a small letter from the Maha team thanking us for spending our time there. Easily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever dined in and you should too.

This place literally is one of the best restaurants in Melbourne. The food is absolutely incredible! We ordered the food through Providoor and they had provided a clear instructions on how to serve the food. We tried their Ras Hanout Cauliflower, Beef Dumplings and Zatar Bread for entree and it was absolutely delish. Although the food had enough flavour infused in it, they gave us extra spices to garnish the food at home. Not just that, they also have us complementary alcohol free drinks. I just regret not experiencing their food at the restaurant. Can't wait to dine in there and experience their rest of the menu.

Maha was amazing, and the vegan menu was absolutely astonishing. I came here with close friends for my birthday to experience fine dining for the first time and was blown away. Our main waiter Leonardo was very funny and was laughing with us all night, our sommelier Alex really personalised the experience for us, the other two waitresses Amelia and Courtney who also served our table were stunning and very friendly. The team which we interacted with went above and beyond and really gave the experience a top quality feel, and the birthday treat I received was a nice touch. Although the experience is more costly than most restaurants, I will definitely be returning here once again as I have never had a dining experience quite like that.

Was brought here for a surprise birthday dinner by my fiancé and it was truly an unforgettable night. We love fine dining and this is certainly a must try and try and try because it is that good. I can't wait to come back here again. I've had middle eastern food before but this was next level. Every dish was full of flavour but they all married up so beautifully. I also must say the portions are spectacular and you certainly won't need to be stopping off for a late night snack afterwards compared to other places that I've eaten at. Quality and quantity in the same place and Maha has nailed it, but I'll let the photos do the talking. A big shoutout to Emma who was taking care of our table, she was awesome and so attentive and did I mention they sent me out a little birthday cake, it really is the little things. What an amazing night, thank you Maha, see you again soon. Staff ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cleanliness ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely loved our experience! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. We had the Soufra menu, the snacks option, the lamb for main and the extra turkish delight donut and I could not fault anything. Quick for the dishes to come out. Loved every bite. Generous servings and so flavourful. Highly recommend their pomegranate sour - one of the best cocktails I've had. The service was amazing, very friendly & they gave a little birthday dessert with a sparkler. Would 100% come back and recommend to others.

Loved the vibe in this restaurant, moody and dim. Our server was amazing 5/5! We had the 5 (and a half) course meal tasting menu, took about three hours so it's recommended to reserve an early time. In my opinion, some food were salty and the wait between courses was long. But the main course is great. I also tried the Turkish apple tea after the whole course and it was so refreshing. The space is small, the next table to us is close. I feel like I'm sinking down in my seat in the booth making the table quite high for me.

Came here for dinner last night with 3 colleagues and had a wonderful time ! Cant recommend it enough. The food was to-die-for and the service was next-level from every single person we encountered. We did the Soufra meal plus snacks and for 4 women found it to be plenty of food so definitely worth it. SO much flavour in every bite, and we loved how the waiter would explain each part when he dropped it off. They were also awesome at accomodating my prawn allergy by providing me with a tempura pumpkin alternative- yum. Would definitely recommend and will be back for sure next time we’re visiting melbourne.

Whenever someone asks me for a Middle Eastern restaurant recommendation, Maha immediately comes to mind but funny enough, I hadn't actually been myself before this visit. I had just heard so many good things about this place over the years, so it’s been on my list for the longest time. I finally visited late July for their 15-year birthday tasting menu (priced at $175pp), curated with their best dishes from the past 15 years. The starter snacks were tasty, though a tad oilier than I'd prefer. The meze course was probably my favourite – loved the makanek with eggplant and pomegranate, the charred kingfish, pickled cucumber, and their signature hummus with soft flatbread was a winner. Among the mains, the roasted lamb shoulder was amazing, tender and full of flavour. The steamed rockling came with a nice extra surprise of mussels for the celebration, but my fish did also have a few unexpected bones 🫠 The Moghrabieh Milanese was creamy and hearty, while the additional roasted Portland lobster [+$75] was sadly, overly salty. Onto desserts - they were quite generous with the selection, adding a mini cake and sparkler for the birthday person, but the highlight was the ”Land of the Milk and Honey". It perfectly balanced out the hearty meal and was a light and refreshing way to finish. I had two cocktails throughout the night - their passionfruit arak and moorish coffee cocktail, and they were both great. 3.8/5 ✨ Overall, there were some real winners and some misses, and although the service throughout the night was top notch, the wait times in between the course did feel quite long. I had high expectations for Maha, and think I might’ve come on an off night.

Very good experience. Only criticism is asking for a tip after spending $330+ on two people (one not drinking). I know it's voluntary but this is Australia where wait staff should be adequately paid.
