Daebak!! Best restaurant ever!! Not only the food is amazing (you can feel they have put so much love into it) and customer service is gold medal. Me and my wife love to take away food from here. And today when I picked up the order with my bike, which i shouldn't have done that since my wife ordered seafood spicy soup. The restaurant owner went above and beyond to wrap the take away container with multiple layer of cling wrap to prevent leaking. And the other staff member stood outside to watch my bike as there was no frame to lock. Amazing!!!

Delicious flavoursome freshly rolled kimbap. Kimbap is filled with generous amount of ingredients and has a nice sesame oil coating to it. I like that they all have egg, crab stick, ham and pickles so no matter what flavour you get, it’ll be guaranteed meaty and tangy. And the kimbap slicing machine is cool.

This is definitely authentic Korean food Bimhap, noodles and soup. The kimchi dumplings soup taste very good. The soup is not just normal soup, it had seaweed, bean powder on top. Very special taste. The cold noodles is very tasty and lots of ingredients. Price is average. This restaurant is owned by Korean. Lots of local Korean visit them. The restaurant is not big, few tables outside and inside. Avoid busy hours when plan to visit. It is in main Street, very convenient with public transport and parking. Walking distance from train station. Staff are very friendly. Tables consider big within such a small restaurant. Seating is comfortable.

I stumbled upon Jang Go Mama by accident because I was craving Gimbap! I have been going back ever since! Food is amazing! Service is amazing! Price worth every penny! A very cosy place run by husband and wife team! they do takeaway and dine in. You can call ahead for takeaway to save time. Jang Go Mama will serve quality food over quantity! I will definitely come back to try Jang Go Mama's other dishes! keep up the amazing work and thank you for cooking!

Very small & cosy family restaurant, but the quality is top shelf and food is great. Ordered a small fish cake soup and kimchi dumpling soup with noodles and was very happy at the end. The fish cake soup was a standout for me; came out piping hot and full of fish balls and other fried fish bits. The perfect dish for a cold winter night.

Cosy little joint run by a Korean family, who were nice and friendly. I had their naengmyeon, which is a vegetarian cold soup with chewy buckwheat noodles, kimchi, cucumber slices, nashi pear and boiled egg. It was the first time I had it and it was delightfully light and refreshing! Will be back! Edit: came back and had their kimbap (I asked for prawn without spam), it was freshly rolled and was delicious & filling! Perfect for lunch.

A lovely family run restaurant that produces comforting Korean food. We ordered takeaway twice and the food was freshly made. We got for kimbap and bibimbap and both were delicious.

My girlfriend introduced me to this hidden gem! It is a small shop with roughly 4 tables inside but they offer outside seating too. The food was so amazing, it makes you feel so happy and satisfied after. It was so authentic it really feels like your grandma's cooking. The owners were so friendly and very attentive - excellent service. We had the ham and cheese kimbap (you can tell it was made with love) and the budae soup. The side dishes were also very tasty! And the ddeokbokgi is also very noteworthy. Can't wait to come back here and try more things on the menu.

A homie spot for the best gimbap in Melbourne so far. The spicy pork gimbap was so on point with spicyness and flavourful. Jang go mama tteok was yum! We really liked the sauce (spicy, sweet and salty). I would not recommend ordering the crispy prawns, better order another gimbap!

A friend recommended this place, and she's right when she said she'd found the best kimbab in Melbourne! It's pretty huge and delicious. We also ordered the cold noodles, which was super refreshing on warm days. The place was rather small with 3-4 tables. However, it gave me that homey authentic feel to it. I highly recommend if you're craving for kimbab!!

It kinda felt like I was over at a friend's house and their mum and dad made us gimbap for dinner and it was really really good. Very wholesome

I think the gimbap here is definitely must try. The filling is quite generous and well marinated. I tried spicy beef, spicy pork and fried prawn. I like spicy beef one the most. 🍤 wasn’t crispy but not too bad with a compliment of mayonnaise sauce inside. This & spicy pork tied 😂 However, the shop is really small with 2-3 tables so its probably better to take away.

Really nice gimbap filled to the brim with tasty combinations. We tried the spicy chicken, spicy beef, beef and basic. My favourite was the spicy beef. Paired with a side of kimchi. Service was really good too. Seats are limited though but takeout is available.

Taste - 5/5 Value - 5/5 Fantastic authentic Korean food. Kimbap (tuna/ham) 🌟🌟🌟 Kimchi cream prawn fried rice 🌟🌟🌟 Seafood spicy noodle (my fav) 🌟🌟🌟 Kimchi pancake 🌟🌟 Do note it's a very small place so it would be hard to get a table (takeaway is always an option as well)

Authentic Korean foods - very delicious gimbap, Tteok Bokki… the reason i gave 4* is just because waiting time, need to wait for more than 20mins today due to the small restaurant with only few tables in place! Would recommend take away to avoid waiting time!

The tastiest, happy-dance inducing gimbap, full of flavour and deliciousness. My absolute go to for gimbap in Melbourne, thank you for all the care you put into each individual ingredient, it's always a highlight of my week devouring these!

GIMBAP HEAVEN!! Made to order, so be prepared to wait! Their gimbaps are packed with ingredients, you can tell it's made with love from the first bite. This shop is run by a Korean family with very limited seating (~10 seats) so I usually get takeaway. They also serve stone bowl bibimbap and dishes like spicy chicken/cheese.

Amazing korean place to get kimbap. We also tried kimchi and the fried prawn kimbap and the takoyaki and they were amazing. They are freshly made when you purchase them and they're reall good.

Small restaurant that specialises in gimbap. Had the Jang go mama tteokbokki and Korean cold noodle. The Jang go mama has a slight tinge of bitterness on the tteokbokki and fish cakes which I did not enjoy. The rest of the dish was excellent though. The cold noodles were light and refreshing. The restaurant is quite small and only has four 2 seat tables inside. Expect to spend around $18 for gimbap or $25 for other dishes.

Very small restaurant with only 6 tables. Lots of items in menu and the food is very good and tasty. However, i put only 4 stars coz I found it's a bit expensive for the experience. It's the price I would pay for a nice restaurant with comfortable tables, nicely decorated . U come here just for the food but not compatible for a romantic or long meal as the restaurant is small and basic.

Not only is the food very delicious, but the shop owner is really kind and gentle. Since I lost my wallet, they even waited for me to come back to look for it, which made me feel endless warmth and touching as a traveler in a foreign country. Wishing Uncle and Aunt a prosperous business year, good health, and all the best in the future. 대단히 감사합니다, 건강하시고 모든 일이 순조롭길 빕니다

It's a small family busienss by a korean couple so don't expect fancy experience The atmosphere is pretty humble but I like the family feel as watching the couple prepare and serve the meal. Love the pancake, tasty and crispy as it should be but not all chefs do it right like this one! The only dislike is price of dishes is relatively expensive compared to other Korean places in city but it passed for the authentic food :)

I found your store while searching Google. The back door was strange, but it was easy to find through the front door and the owner greeted me very kindly. The food was truly admirable and I was so satisfied that I missed Korea. Your warm heart will forever be remembered. I will. 질롱에서 다녀왔습니다.너무 감사했습니다.승승장하세요

Great food for a small hole-in-the-wall eatery and can't wait to come again. We had the seafood chijimi and beef bulgoggi, and the complimentary fried tofu was absolutely delicious.
