It used to be a nice Irish pub to watch football on Sky and have some Irish beer or pub food. It still is a nice pub but they don't have too much beer these days. For some reasons, maybe because of Covid19, they only had a very limited choice off beers. At least 3 taps have not been available. I tried the Irish Cula Bula Pale Ale and it was excellent, allegedly brewed in Austria exclusively for Charlie P. But that was it. Disappoining. The Sky football was great, however. Tottenham won.

Properly medium-cooked burger (and I rarely say that) accompanied by a delicious beer. Reasonable prices too. The service is awesome. However, I removed one star for the atmosphere because there was a table of 5 students playing some kind of board game, making extremely loud, screaming laughs, as if they owned the whole place. It would have been nice if the staff had asked them to be a bit quieter.

Nice discovery I would say. I like to visit English and Irish breweries and I found this place as quite famous. The interior: very interesting..stone walls..english style bar..good tables and chairs.. The beers: Tried a few. Loved them all. The food: Amazing fish and chips 🍟. Crisp. And the sauce was also yummy. In all, worth coming back for more.

Fantastic spot! I can't recommend this bar enough. The prices are fair, the pumpkin soup is absolutely delicious—truly a must-try! The underground dance floor adds a unique vibe, and the service was top-notch. The youthful atmosphere creates a lively and enjoyable experience. My only wish would be for a slightly quieter crowd during football matches.

still a Great Place. This Place has changed owners several years ago and I haven’t been there for a while now, but the burgers and fries are still the best in Vienna imo! check it out!

Nice bar, beer is good. But the last call is at 9, and i can understand it, you don't want to sell long drinks and beer to people an hour before closing. But i asked for shots at 21:10 and they refused. Because they care about the rules so much, although no one checked if I'm vaccinated or recovered. I don't think that they care about it at all.

Comfortable pub known to all locals (seriously, the number of Viennese familiar with Charlie P's will astonish you). Wide selection of good local and import beer at standard prices, familiar songs, friendly English-speaking staff, and a generally chill vibe with thoughtful and funky but pleasantly low-key decor. Location is also convenient and attractive, a stone's throw away from the well-connected and aesthetically gorgeous Votivkirche. Nothing to knock your socks off, but certainly a solid choice of venue for any evening drinks with friends or colleagues.

Good food and drinks, wine, and wide beer choices. If you plan a big party, don't go there. You can get 4—5 times lower prices just an hour ride away (Břeclav/Brno/Bratislava).

Good Irish bar near Schottentor, it’s been my 3rd time in 17 years. I would recommend it as a good Irish bar, however I haven’t tried the food hence why my mark is zero stars otherwise a very pleasant place to mingle & have beers with good other half’s & friends.

Great Pub that is open earlier than others for a pint in the heart of the city. I had the Louisiana Hot Wings, and they very were good. I got to watch a football match while I took a break from visiting the Christmas markets. I definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

Cool little corners to sit in, chilled out atmosphere. We were there on a quite Sunday night, just ordered drinks but the menu looked good, traditional british meals. Would recommend to anyone missing the UK or those who want a bit of dark Englisch charm.

Great atmosphere. It was a bit overcrowded and the stuff was stressed out, but I'd love to go there anytime;)

Favorite chicken wing spot in Vienna. Always a good service and reasonable prices, although locals find it expensive.

My favorite Irish pub in town. Centrally located, always buzzling with friendly people, happy service and live games broadcasted. Haven’t tried the food but looking at it it can be tasty. My honest recommendation for nice party opener

A really good Irish pub. Not too expensive, the food is good, the beer is good and the atmosphere is good. The service is very nice, and all in all a good place to be.

Staying at the Regina Hotel made it convenient to walk over to this American style bar. Venue happily tuned into NFL playoff game upon request Ordered couple local biers, fries & wings. Service was above reproach as our bartender was great conversationist. Listening to Few local patrons interacting with employees made me feel right at home. Good place for refreshments as it also had more booth area for those wanting more privavcy & less outside distraction.

It was great visiting this bar, we made a booking just a while before we were supposed to reach, the screen prompted to “we look forward to welcoming you” which we considered meant the reservation is confirmed. But then when we reached the staff said we should get the email, which we didn’t have. Yet the staff was very helpful and got us the table for two. It was the champions league final so the house was crowded still we got the the place thanks to the staff. Great options in beers. Food was good too 😊

Everytime I frequent Charlie P's, I ask myself "why don't you eat here more often?" Friendly and helpful staff, good food, great beer (although the burgers could be just a touch bigger, but I'm a big man). Went there with a stag's party - we had wonderful staff, nice co-visitors. One of Vienna's nicest destinations.

A Viennese institution among students. Spacious, two-floor layout, very large place overall. If you like your pub to feel like a living room, this may not be the place for you, but it's not without charm. Definitely one of the most popular pubs in the city; gets very full at peak hours. Hosts student events, in addition to weeknight happenings such as stand-up or karaoke. Wide variety of beers, on tap and bottled, from standard-issue Ottakringer to craft beers. Prices are average to relatively cheap for draught beer. Good pub food as well, but be aware that the kitchen closes at 10pm sharp.

Good beer with plenty of choice. Very limited menu but the food itself is good. Plenty of screens for sports and if you want to see over excited Germans you should go when there's a Bundesliga game on.

This place is amazing. The food, the service, everything. I ordered The Bob Marley, a vegetarian burger. Turned out they didn't have any veggie patties anymore, so I had to change my order up a bit. Either way, the burger was amazing. I'm not a vegetarian myself so I got a regular beef patty with the Bob Marley. I also ordered some sweet potato fries, and cajun fries with chili mayo sauce; heavenly. Finger clenching good. Next to the food being this good, the staff was super friendly and considerate. They brought us a free piece of cheesecake as an apology for the inconvenience of there not being a veggie patty. Super friendly. And on top of that, the waitress accidentally brought us 0.5L beers instead of 0.3L beers, but since it was a miscommunication she only charged us for 0.3L beers. All in all, a great experience, delicious food, and a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend going here.

The folks that work here are really kind and a lot of fun. Great place to meet locals, travelors and students. I sat at the bar top regularly and really enjoyed my night caps here. Fish and chips were good. Think I tried every cocktail they were all awesome. Servers all deserve a raise !

I sometimes come here to watch live Sports, I like the place and the service is usually very friendly, but at my last visit I was told that below 10€ you can only pay by cash! So annoying! You do realize this is actually not allowed? If you offer card payment, you have to accept ANY amount!

We spent an amazing night drinkig and dancing in the small dancefloor downstairs. Worthy venue for a fun night

There is a great atmosphere in this lovely pub, some places are a little bit too dark, otherwise the food is exactly what you'd wish for and the service is just on spot. I highly recommend it if you would like to get some classic Irish meals and beer.

Great Pub for watching football, we watched The World Cup here and it was packed but the service was still quick and they have very friendly staff!

Friendly staff, cool place to hang out with friends. Occasionally there's music downstairs which is a nice place to dance if you don't fancy a club. Their spicy chicken wings with celery and blue cheese sauce are absolutely delicious. They're addictively good.

Irish Pub... and everything that comes with it. Personal & joking waiters, well used, sturdy, wooden furniture (but still clean), younger customers (student-range), and a comedy-stage downstairs! I can recommend the fried broccoli.

Charlie P's is certainly THE best pub I've tried in Vienna. Great variety in drinks and truly incredible food. Also the prices were reasonable. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere truly incredible! Perfect pub atmosphere and most of all, amazing special nights. I've been there for stand-up comedy and party nights, especially disco and I always had so much fun! Such a fun and friendly place!

Proper Irish run Irish pub in downtown Vienna. Great food, good pints and shows all the sports on their tv's.

  • 5/5 E. 3 years ago on Google
What can I say except for 'you can't go wrong with beer in an Irish Pub'? In short: Price for a pint was fair, the interior looked amazing, but due to the hot weather we opted for sitting outside. Friendly staff & a good location.

This place is an institution. I definitely recommend going there on a Friday night. There is essentially a club downstairs and the music is great- pop that you can dance to. The staff is super nice. They are careful checking the green pass and require registration before entry. It is great to go with a group of friends and it is a place to meet people! The age range seems to be mostly 20-35.

Fish and chips are the best I’ve had in 20 years. I had to ask for the Pea recipe because I’ve never had them that amazing! Was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the place. Authentic through and through with an amazing atmosphere. Knocked it out the park! Thank you!

I had really looked forward to going here. I booked a table for one, because I'm traveling alone, but shortly after I received an email saying that I didn't need a reservation for only 1 person at that time of day (5 PM). When I arrived (4:50 PM), I was told they were fully booked for the night. I tried to explain to the waitress that I had already booked, but that I had then received this email, but at no point did she ask for my name in order to check her system. Eventually she sent me to a table in a corner and told me I could have that until someone else showed up. The whole time I was there I felt so unwelcome and I felt like I was a hassle, because I was only 1 person. The food was very average. Not bad, but not great either. Small portion. Prices of wine was reasonable.

Nice bar. We booked a table to watch the rugby match and we were seated at the front door. Everytime someone came in we got a blast of cold so had to keep our coats on. Lovely staff and nice food but just not mad about the lay out .

Good food and great service! We had the buffalo wings which were okay and the lucky luke burger was delicious. The cajun fries were very nice too. We also had some different beers which were also good. The service was really good, the staff is very friendly!

Really nice place. Big choice of drought beer, friendly staff and the chicken wings I tried were delicious. Pretty quiet so hopefully in the Winter it gets more busy.

Maybe the best burgers in Vienna. Cool pub with a great selection of beers on tap and a good number if whiskeys (and whiskies!).

  • 5/5 Sascha H. 1 year ago on Google
Friendly warm atmosphere with loads of choices of beer! Decently priced -didn’t eat but must say it looked and smelled amazing! We will be back on our next visit!

Sadly the waiter prefers to stay at the bar instead of moving around doing her job. There are 2 employees and they both do chit chatting instead of their job. *edit: i increased rating after the owners statement. Its not always easy to run a bar, esp. such a big one. I like the effort they put into their response.

I watched all the World Cup 2022 games there, great atmosphere and service. I even filled out the form to work there, when I found out that German knowledge is not a prerequisite to work there! 😁

They have Leffe on draft, they enforce vaccine and check-in mandates, and they have honestly the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Only drawbacks are that it's often crowded, and the crowd skews a little young, but even then I've always been comfortable.

Great pub. Has a trivia night on Sunday which was up to 725 euro on the night we went. The quiz was very hard but loads of fun. The staff were great except one on the night gave us attitude at closing. I forgot a scarf there and they found it and kept it for us for 6 days until I was able to return to pick it up.

Cool Irish Bar close to the Vienna City Center. Great place to hangout with friends & colleagues. The range of drinks is pretty wide & the food menu sounds perfect for a bar night. But their kitchen shuts early, so you got to get their early (check website).
