Beware the hidden €3.30 charge for taking bread. It’s hidden after the sweets on the menu. For a restaurant that looks so modern and funky it seems a bit poor to relying on old rip restaurant tactics to up your bill. Apple Strudel comes without vanilla sauce - so that’s another €3 added from a hidden part of the menu. Having said all that the service was excellent, friendly and fast. The food was good - tasty schnitzel which is plate size, don’t be afraid to ask for it to be shared between two!! You can hear them flattening the meat in the corner of the restaurant, which depending on where you are sat is quite an unusual noise to hear during dinner !! We had two of appetisers, which tasty but needed seasoning. All the the food seemed to arrive luke warm not piping hot.

Very nice and upscale restaurant, but NOT overly fancy so dont be intimidated. The wait staff were extremely helpful, and nice. I really enjoyed the wiener schnitzel and sides. As you can see from the pictures, we ordered a good amount of food and we ate most of it. I would recommend getting sides as well as main dishes because they are all good. We also got wine which was the house wine and decent.

eight servings of schnitzel for our party, and all were thoroughly enjoyed. schnitzels were thin, large and crispy. service was really efficient and staff were kind. very accommodating to a large group. would have been nice to know that the cucumber salad came with a cream sauce of sorts before ordering. the parsley potatoes were a hit.

A famous locale to try the traditional Viennese schnitzel, as well as a number of other Austrian traditional dishes. Austrian food only! Limited food menu, but it has all you need to try to set you in exploration of the local cuisine— I enjoyed this aspect immensely. Highly recommend their house traditional recipe for the schnitzel (cooked with lard… so Yummy). The accompanying potato salad is everything it should be and much more. Do not hesitate to try a desert… you are in Vienna. They have a limited but decent offer if domestic wines, including house red and white. The atmosphere is quite good, but you can sense the place wobble and struggle under the weight of tourist interest ( and the disdain thereof). This affects the quality of service, which is very uneven. For example, while my original server was impolite, inefficient and annoying, the manager as well as a set of other servers really filled in and saved the night. Prices are high. But i liked the food. I was Almost comfortable during the meal. May return. Check it out for yourselves.

Food was quite good and decor was amazing i was looking forward to the experience when I walked in however the Service was inexplicable. They need to do better. I waited an hour from finishing my food to being able to leave. It’s unacceptable and not worth it. Can get the schnitzel and other Viennese traditional food at better places.

Came here on the fly without reservation as I wanted to have Schnitzel. Got a table in the back - which is good as not so crowded but if you’re on your own could be a bit boring.. The food came quickly - the waiters were friendly and attentive. Overall a nice experience and not like the usual tourist spots with plenty of Schnitzel-Scouters :-) This is most likely due to the price..

Absolutely fantastic restaurant for Wiener Schnitzel lovers! From the moment we walked in, the service was attentive and welcoming. The starter was delicious, setting a high bar for the main course, which did not disappoint. The Wiener Schnitzel was cooked to perfection, and the beer selection complemented the schnitzel wonderfully. A must-visit for an authentic dining experience!

A must try restaurant at Wien, food is prepared with highest standards and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. The managing director Mr. Niko offers their guests a perfect dining experience, from the arrival to the restaurant till the last second you leave the place. The restaurant’s Schnitzel is prepared at the very last moment and is the best that I tried in my life. The open kitchen gives a spectacular view, with the nice sound of chefs beating hundreds of Schnitzel. The health safety measurements for hygiene and cleanliness are at the top level. We were completely satisfied with the overall experience at Meissl & Schadn, from the moment the welcoming ladies showed us our table, until the moment we left the place after the ‘feast’ we made with the simplest but best chosen ingredients, as I always believe in food; Less is More… Once again thanks for the manager Mr. Niko and his professional team for the memorable experience. We will definitely come again.

We enjoyed our time here but wouldn't come back. The food was okay but not great, and the price/quality ratio was rather poor. The service was very professional, quick, and efficient. Although it was strange that Tafelspitz was sold out at 2 pm, and we got the last bit – they don’t seem to plan well enough. As for the food, the Schnitzel was large and indeed not bad, but taste-wise, I would say it was on the average side. However, the potato salad it was served with was truly delicious. The Tafelspitz was kind of average too. The brisket was top quality, although the tongue and the ribs were rather dry, and the sides it was served with were a bit hit and miss.

We didn't need to make a reservation! The drinks were good, but Apple juice was incredible. For food I loved my schnitzel and the roast beef gravy was really good. Didn't like the desert. Too much rum for my taste....

Excellent food and service. The best schnitzel I have tried in Vienna! The desserts are also fantastic. The Apfelstrudel specifically was so tasty and the vanilla sauce was from out of this world!

Very elegant atmosphere with lovely staff. Actually I didn't see a big difference between the schnitzel I ate in cheaper places, but the potato salad was the best i've had. Apple strudel was good. It was a nice but expensive experience. I really liked our waitress' energy. We had 4 schnitzels, 2 apple strudels and a bottle of wine and paid 198 €

We came here with family who live in Vienna as they said it is the best schnitzel in Vienna, and we couldn’t agree more!! The schnitzel and potato salad was very tasty. Drinks menu quite limited would like to see more beer and spirit choices as alternative to wine. The service was a bit slow, but the restaurant was busy. Overall, it was a great experience.

We were recommended by a friend to visit and it did not disappoint. Fried veal is the most famous dish in Vienna and we tried the fried veal with a few more dishes. They all were great. The potato salad that came with the veal, was very tasty. The service was a bit slow, but the servers were friendly. Overall, it was a great experience. Highly recommend it.

The place looks really nice and clean and staff is polite. The food resembles the authenticity of Viennese cuisine. You should definitely trust the waiters on the menu but everything we tried was quite good. Maybe slightly on the pricey side but still good value for money. Only negative note we booked a table at 21.30 and 22 the kitchen was closed and we were not able to order other desserts than strudel but nobody had let us know that the kitchen was closing or anything.

Food at this restaurant is ok, and I would say overpriced for what you get. The service unfortunately was really bad. We have never got any bread and butter, even tho all the other tables had it. The pulled pork appetizer was tiny and way too oily. The waiting time for the min course was quite long, and to make a Wiener schnitzel shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes. And the schnitzel was greasy and more on a dryish side. After ordering desserts and coffee we had to wait for at least 10-15 minutes AND we never got our coffee. The apple strudel was very good tho as well as a vegetarian schnitzel. In general, we felt a bit awkward being at this restaurant and we were quite happy to leave asap and to go for a coffee at another place.

We ordered a summer salad and a schnitzel. The schnitzel was great as well as the potato salad that came with it. As for the salad, it didn’t have the ingredients of the menu, it was drowning in dressing, small and came in a soup plate. The menu described a big bowl of summer salad, but that was not the case. Afterwards I was brought a side salad which ended up being bigger, nicer and with much more ingredients. The summer salad was 16€ and the side salad 5,90€. As for the service, the waiter was very nice and took immediately the salad that I was served in the first place (He didn’t bring it to the table).

Eagerly anticipated the schnitzel, it was very tasty albeit more expensive than other restaurants. We arrived late for a booking but they accommodated us anyway. Our table had no side plates for bread and others did and I had to ask again for my drink. Atmosphere was a bit flat with classical music was played and the ambience was quiet.

Nice fancy restaurant. Whit a juicy Wiener Schnitzel and a nice location. Look clean and they have a nice staff. I bit expensive but tast good.

The food was okay, I honestly had better schnitzel in local smaller restaurants. Service was good, food was ready within 5 minutes. The schnitzel I ordered was however too salty and the meat was slightly rubbery. Atmosphere is okay, quiet setting. In all, the price you pay is for the interior and not the food.

    - The best Wiener Schnitzel in Vienna - Trust me, eating here will blow your mind. I tried all the famous places and M&S is clearly among my favorites. If you can, eat the „mit allen Schikanen“. They even have a vegan option, but the original one is best. And also the staff is great: friendly and fast.

One of the best high-end schnitzel experiences in Vienna. Great selection of wines. We didn’t try the desserts because after the huge schnitzel we couldn’t handle more!

Rated as the Top schnitzel place in Vienna, it truly speaks to its name. Friendly, attentive and fast service, delicious food and a great atmosphere. Schnitzel is one of those foods that is not hard to make but hard to master :D. This was my 3rd visit with a friend and as always everything was immaculate. After we ordered the food and drinks we received the drinks within 1 minute and the food within 5. Although one might think this would mean poor quality however that is not the case. The schnitzel was perfectly fried and the meat was smooth like butter! With some potato salad with mayonnaise it's absolutely to die for :D. Definitely not cheap but it is certainly worth the price. Aside from the schnitzel I can really recommend the beef tartare and the 'fleischleibchen' which are both excellent.

What a fantastic time we had here ! Schnitzel and love makes sense and you find one of the best traditional Austrian dishes here. Wonderful staff. Had Schnitzel and Tafelspitz and were happy to the moon !

Very chic restaurant, the speciality is the Wiener Schnitzel with potatoes. Choose if you like it fried in butter or oul or lard. The schnitzel is extra large and the service excellent. They also have vegetarian dishes. You don't find tourists here, it's an elegant restaurant for locals.

Food not bad, serve with special dressings. I also had pulled pork and emperor soup. It’s different from general pork schnitzel. My experience with the restaurant was lifted up by a staff name Joven, he is friendly, cheerful, attentive and caring. He explain every dish that I order. This is a plus point for such a high end restaurant. Service give customer comfort of dining in the restaurant. Shall have more staff like him. However one set back, the pretty reception lady greet customer with an unfriendly tone, whom just mention to me no seat , however when I pointed at the high table was empty, she said “ok”. And there were seats left empty during my entire dining time. Management u need to train your people hospitality.

Not cheap, but you also get what you pay for. Excellent Wiener Schnitzel, which you can have prepared in three different lipids. It truly was the best WS I have ever had, BUT their Gurkensalat (cucumber salad) was even better. 11/10 and three chef's kisses. Service was as expected. Professional and efficient. Not my cup of tea, but in no means bad. Prices are high, but also justified. You pay for quality, location and tradition. Highly recommended if you are looking for AMAZING Viennese food.

@meisslundschadn proudly serves Wiener schnitzel in their modern restaurant. They have an open salon kitchen at the entrance to the restaurant where you can see them preparing the schnitzels they are famous for. The atmosphere on the restaurant was great and the service very efficient. We had a selection of the canapes to start. We had potato croquettes, beef goulash with peas and ham, egg and horseradish. These were good but I don’t think I would get these again, and would probably do mains and dessert instead. I did the schnitzel the traditional way as served to the likes of Sigmund Freud. It was a great schnitzel and I enjoyed the cranberry and Viennese garnish (egg and parsley) and potato salad that accompanied it.

Love the chic atmosphere and interior of the restaurant. The service and food was fantastic. It’s a wonderful place if you want to enjoy yourself and treat you to something special. Not the cheapest place in the city to have traditional Viennese dishes but absolutely worth it if you consider what you get and how you’re treated as a customer. The Schnitzel is great, but if you have the chance try the Tafelspitz as well, it’s truly delicious.

Our favorite schnitzel in Vienna served the traditional manner - fried in lard!! This time we added the traditional bone marrow, watercress soup and salad ( comes with cucumber salad, potato salad, sauerkraut and a yummy dressing)

At least once per trip to Austria we have to eat Wiener Schnitzel. This one was really exceptional! And they had Markknochen as an appetizer - a rarity and almost impossible to find these days.

Second time I eat in this restaurant specially for their veal schnitzel, for me the best in Vienna. Prices are high but if want to eat great schnitzel or bring someone to try a good one, this is the place to go. Service is attentive and fast. Drinks prices are on the high end.

A great place for Schnitzel lovers! Love how everything is open and you can watch them make the food. The big, beautiful chandelier sets the mood. This is definitely the place in Vienna to come for those food bloggers and influencers. It is just so photogenic. Of course the food is also a delight for the palate. The chef and the waiters are dressed decadently. You feel like a million bucks having these gents serve you.

Good experience overall, the schnitzel in my opinion is better than that of plachuttas. The hostess however walked past us at least 3 times without even acknowledging us, I finally had to go up to her and ask her to sit us down with our reservation.

Such a lovely and classy yet modern atmosphere! Perfect for a romantic dinner date but also for friends and family. Various veggie options on the menu, try the vegetarian Tafelspitz, it was great! Staff was incredibly friendly and the house wine was great!

The schnitzel is quite good but we felt like it is more a tourist place. It was all quite quickly served. Make sure if you want a starter and a main course that you actually say these words, otherwise you get it at the same time.

  • 5/5 Michal K. 2 years ago on Google
Very good food, mostly traditional Viennese which was exactly what we were looking for. The service was good, although there was a little mix up with our reservation. They solved it quickly, which also shows what good service can do.

Not sure why this place is so popular and can’t understand why people say that the schnitzel is “phenomenal” here. It was very dry with a weird taste of oil it was fried on. The restaurant is quite spacious inside, but too noisy and overcrowded. We could not stand to stay long there and had to leave fast. I’m not sure I will visit it again. Too touristy and is not worth the price.
