We found this place on TripAdvisor as a second best restaurant in Vienna. First impression was small, cute and authentic local place. Service in this place was 3/5 with quick food service, but as you finished your meal and asked for bill you have to wait and they don't care. FYI - you can pay only by cash. We had soup and two main meals. Soup was really good and it was served very quickly. Right after soup they brought main meals. We had wiener schnitzel and cordon blue. Positive moment was size of portions and that's about it. The quality of food was very average. We expected more since it was very highly recommended by TripAdvisor. Schnitzel was quite dry and cordon blue was the same thing with little bit of cheese and salami. As sides they brought us their traditional potato salad and it was ok. Second side was coleslaw salad but it tasted like spoil food. If you really like high quality food this is NOT the place for you. We have tried another place for less money, less crowded and with better quality.

One of the best restaurants we visited in vienna. We had the lamb and the pork with sauerkraut. The sauerkraut is delicious and the pork was tender. Definitely recommend this dish. Prices are reasonable and cheaper than city centre. Make sure to book for evenings as it can get quite full. Would come back here if in Vienna again.

Really good Viennese traditional style cooking in a charming, comfortable little restaurant. Friendly, attentive service and a menu which offers the obligatory tourist must haves as well as some more unusual dishes. I recommend booking, you won't regret it.

Hands down one of the best food experiences of our trip to Vienna. In search of a place to eat a really good schnitzel, we picked this place over some more fancy-looking options for its relaxed and cozy atmosphere. It did not disappoint! Albeit popular with tourists, the place retains its authenticity and warmth. Service is very friendly and kind. It is super kids friendly as well. The food is amazing, the perfect place to experience real wiener cuisine! Schnitzels are a must of course, but do not miss out on the Wiazhaus cordon bleu or the grilled sausage, all equally delicious. Word to the wise: the portions are plentiful, 3 dishes were enough for 2 adults and 2 kids!

The place is ranked among the highest in the city and in my opinion the ranking is completely justified. The food is extremely delicious. The staff is pleasant, the place is beautiful and accessible. The prices are not cheap but definitely worth a visit.

We had the wiener schnitzel, and it was the best of the ones we tried! We also had red beer with it, which was ok, I'm not much of a drinker😅. The place gets quite full and it's cash only.

Polite staff, huge and tasty portions and great atmosphere. It looked like we cane just in time as a lot of tables were either taken or reserved. One thing to keep in mind - it is cash only.

Amazing service and food. I can say that the wait time is reasonable. Very nice drinks. The location is very intimate. Also paying by cash is preferable so do not forget to get cash before you come to the restaurant. if not there is an ATM right across the street from the restaurant.

This is a great family restaurant with a casual atmosphere and really delicious food. A massive veal schnitzel with delicious potato salad and side of cranberry sauce. Cash only and hard to get a table. Call ahead! Expect slower service but we really didn’t mind. Worth a trip!

A small and cozy restaurant that is well worth the visit. The owners and staff are very attentive and keeping the place very clean. I tried their schnitzel and it was easily the best I had in Vienna! Make sure to book in advance since the seats are limited.

We ordered the classic schnitzel and the cordon bleu. Personally, I preferred the cordon bleu and it was also much cheaper. Serving was huge. They accept cash only. Restaurant ambience was very cozy.

Absolutely the best restaurant to eat traditional Viennese food in all of Vienna. I am not exaggerating when I say the lamb was probably one of the best I’ve ever had in my life! 10/10 in food, service, and overall experience. Absolutely delicious!!! My eyes rolled back! Every plate is a win!

Very nice Austrian typical food! Generous portions and friendly owners. A super introduction to what Vienna food is all about! The beef goulash was fantastic :)

Excellent food and service. I had a Tafelspitz (meat was tender and melted in my mouth, soup was spiced well), an Apfelstrudel (crumbly, tangy, with a nice sweet sauce on the side), and a cup of coffee. The shop has a retro feel with many nostalgic and old posters.

Ordered the lamb and veal schnitzel - absolutely delicious. Lamb was super tender and not gamey at all. Breading on the schnitzel was thin and crispy. Potato salad was also great.

Great place, the quality is just amazing and the staff is attentive. The location is nice, the simple interior makes it feel very cozy! We had the classic schnitzels and an appel strudel and were very happy with it all. Would recommend and come back again.

Delicious Austrian specialties. The Leberknödel soup is wonderful! Lamb very tender and Zwiebel Rost braten just great. Really like the atmosphere here as well.

Good schnitzel and huge portion! It is a safe recommandation for typical food from Vienna

Great restaurant. Food was so great, an artwork I would say. Consider ~30 Euro per adult which for Wien and that food perfectly fine. Absolutely recommend it. Only they don't accept EC cards so have some cash with you.

We were not blown away, as other reviewers seem to have been, by the food or place. We had booked and were sat out side on a small table with fairly uncomfortable chairs. The street view is hardly compelling with a rank of giant bins directly across the street. The menu looked enticing with lots of choice but both our meals were frankly disappointing. The main issue was that the huge Viennese fried chicken my wife ordered was red raw in the centre. Raw chicken is a total no no anywhere and to have it served in a restaurant famous for exactly that dish for over 100 years is inexcusable. My pork dish was ok but there was no attempt to dress the dish in anyway and make it look more presentable - just two huge slabs of pork, a mountain of slaw and an igloo of a potato dumpling. I’m not looking for haute cuisine here but if they had just sliced the pork and tidied up the plate it would have helped. The chicken was replaced with an apology but nothing was taken off the bill which surprised us both. All in all, I reckon this place runs off its reputation but really needs to take a fresh approach to how it presents its food.

Wonderful place for lunch! If you are in the city center, do stop by for their food. Cozy and traditional at the same time. Quick and top quality service. I had the Rinder-knodel Suppe, Apfelstrudel and Holunderwasser.

No complaints except for "cash only" :) The food was perfect, with a considerable portion of meat (and I am from Croatia, where that is a standard :D ) and friendly staff. The prices are in line with the rest of Vienna, especially considering the portion size and quality. I am coming back!

Amazing dinner on our first night in Vienna. A family run restaurant. A very cool interior to the restaurant with such a warm welcome from the staff working there. The food was delicious and a very generous amount. We are so pleased we found this and booked it before we arrived. Try to book as it gets very busy as it’s such a fabulous restaurant. As many have mentioned, cash is preferred and there is a cash point/bank very close by. Loved it. Thank you so much for having us!

Had Wiener Schnitzel & Tullnerfelder Pork Cutlet, Apple Strudel Not only the best food in Vienna, but one of the best restaurant experiences I've had anywhere in Europe. Recommend to reserve a table beforehand as it's also very popular.

The schnitzel was perfect and I loved the potato salad, it was sweet and acidic. The fried chicken stole the show though. Absolutely perfect. A local woman told us this was the best schnitzel around and not a lot of people visiting Vienna go. Make sure to get a meal here.

We really enjoyed our meal here. Classic tourists looking for good schnitzel, strudel and beer. We got all three. We were there for evening opening time and managed to get a table but it filled up fast. Good service and a quick turn around. All great :)

Amazing food, we had the boiled meat, the roasted goose, and the tiramisu, all of these were incredible. The best restaurant in our 3 day Viena trip was this one!

This was my favourite restaurant in Vienna. We went here for a quick dinner before going to the Musikverein, which is just around the corner. I had one of the most delicious salads in my life with breaded chicken (almost like a schnitzel) and potato salad. It tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous but we sat on the terrace outside because the weather was so perfect. The staff were super efficient and friendly and I would definitely go back there for my next visit to Vienna!
