👍 We stopped here for drinks one evening and decided to come back for lunch a couple of days later. The food was nice, the waiters were polite, but the service was very, very slow. We were asked to move table twice and it took exactly one hour after arriving for our food to come. People often mention good, service, Vienna, nice, restaurant, Austrian, Schnitzel, waiters, schnitzel, friendly,

5 stars no question. Rich menu that changes every day and marks what is fresh. The food was large in size and good in quality - some dishes in particular like the beef cheeks were to die for. The service was fast. The prices were good considering Vienna pricing, location of the restaurant and size/quality of dishes. Would sit here again

Half a portion of the Wiener Schnitzel is already huge! It’s very tasty. The potatoes salad was ok - I don’t like the certain after taste it leaves in my mouth. But all is good. Love that they have half a portion for many dishes. The service is good too.

The best potato salad I ever had! The Schnitzel tasted great too. The prices are in the upper segment but it's definitely justified for what you get. Would have been nice if the Schnitzel got served with Cranberries tho.

Overpriced. Rude waiters with no manners whatsoever. Let me say it again: OVERPRICED (no check, no receipt) 10€ for a pair of Muddy coffee that tasted really bad; a shame in a city where coffee is usually really good. I don’t understand the hype about this place. It’s a tourist trap for me

While visiting Vienna I decided to try this place out. I really enjoyed myself. Schnitzel was good and reminded me of the schnitzel I ate while growing up in Germany. The waiters were very nice as well!!

We followed a friend's recommendation and tried this place for dinner - we were not disappointed! The food was very authentic and super tasty (we had the Tafelspitz and Wiener Schnitzel). We also very much enjoyed the traditional deserts, in particular the 'Eisknödel' with apricot jam in the middle. The staff was also friendly with us, and I would stop there again without hesitation on my next trip to Vienna.

I came here with my family reading the good comments telling how delicious the food is. Well, you can see the picture I took, this was the schnitzel I was served. I call it “thin cut”. There was barely chicken in it. Overall in Vienna, same happened here, I greeted the waiters and staff and they didn’t greet back. We were served by 3 different waiters, First one didn’t even bother greeting, just slightly throw the menus on the tables gazing somewhere else and that was it. Another one approached 5 minutes later asking for orders. He was rather polite and trying but didn’t speak enough English. The third one just put the cutlery on the table. Well, everything is an experience and I take this dinner that way.

One of the oldest restaurants in Vienna. The place is extraordinary and very cozy to seat and drink. The food is great too. Prices a bit expensive... Located in the very centre of Vienna, a place one should not miss...

Please tourists be away ! During a recent family trip to Europe, we decided to dine at a local restaurant, expecting a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, our expectations were met with disappointment due to the service provided. Upon our arrival, we were greeted indifferently, and the issues began when I attempted to order a beer. The first waitress refused to take my order until everyone was ready, which was inconvenient as my family, who do not speak English or German, required additional time to decide. This response was not only unaccommodating but also came across as inflexible and unwelcoming. In contrast, another waiter agreed to take my order immediately when asked, highlighting inconsistency in service standards within the establishment. This disparity in service quality was concerning and detracted significantly from our dining experience. Furthermore, the behavior of the initial waitress, who was seen laughing with a colleague after I finally received my beer, was unprofessional and disrespectful. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere for us, leading us to leave the restaurant prematurely. In conclusion, this experience was far from what we had hoped for in a dining establishment. The lack of consistent, respectful service and the unwelcoming attitude of certain staff members were major drawbacks. I cannot recommend this restaurant to others and urge the management to address these issues promptly to improve future customers' experiences.

Traditional Austrian restaurant near Schottentor metro and tram station. Food was good same was service. Somehow not friendly, but maybe it’s an Austrian habit?

It was very good dinner. We ate shnitzel, rump steak, goulash soup. Everything was tasty, rump steak a lil bit cheewy and would be nice get more vegetables with it. Bigest problem the prices, I think to big for those portions. Atmosphere was nice, but no music at all and you hear what people talk around. Guys work very nicely. Good luck and best wishes!

Totally disaster. Rice was raw, almost cracked my teeth… Waited too long and everything was served cold. Waiters seemed to be busy for nothing all the time and were being very aloof. In general a bad experience

Casual and friendly. Definitely felt like we were amongst locals. The goulash was fantastic, and the schnitzel was quite good. Beef tartare was also good and the side salad hit the spot.

A really nice place with good food and wine. A perfect place to spend the evening. A big bonus are the waiters. They helped us to choose the food and drinks. The wine "Big John " is not on the menu but the waiter recommended to us. Better to reserve in advance.

A perfect dinner with ever-most authentic Austrian food. Waiter was attentive and cozy ambience for a great meal. Will definitely visit Zum Leupold again before we leave Vienna 💕

We came on our first night in Vienna, and we were nicely surprised with the service how nice everyone is and the food was delicious! The taste and quality was on point and the price was okay as well. We will definitely come back 💜👌

An amazing meal! The Beef Goulash was to die for. Great presentation not overly expensive at all. A++ (Plus an awesome Ice Cream stand about 50 yards away.) We recommend both!

Our first night in Vienna and we stumbled upon this nice little pub. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. BIG shoutout to Ahmed who was outstanding in the service he provided! Food was tasty and well priced, though not 5 stars…needing something a little more special to give it 5/5. The atmosphere was casual and cosy.

Zum leupold is a family run restaurant in central Vienna, with an overall good location, good food, atmosphere and service. cant say i have any complaints about most anything, the food was exquisite (ordered the wiener Schnitzel) and the atmosphere was cozy. The service, was not bad, however, there was a bit of communication trouble. It took a good while for them to come to our table with menus to order, then, whilst consuming our meals (i was with a party of three), we asked one of the waiters about a certain dessert, and when we must order it, the so called kaiserschmarren. The waiter failed to understand our question as we were asking if we could order it then and there. This is not to make a deal of the situation, we simply ordered 5 minutes later, it’s just to be descriptive. All in all, it was a great restaurant experience, would highly recommend to anyone visiting

Excellent Austrian cuisine! I had the huftsteak. Delicious and tender. The emmantaler and schnitzel were also very good. Our waiter was kind and courteous. A bit long on the delivery of food, but the dishes were very good.

Amazing schnitzel and goulash. The food came out very quickly, everything that I’ve ordered was really good. As expected, this was a classic Viennese meal

Traditional local cuisine with authentic wiener schnitzel. It seems a small place from outside but It was huuuge and filled with Traditional stuff. Right on the u2 schottentor with connectivity to almost all modes of transport They even provided the English menu which was a happy surprise Highly recommended 👌

One of the best vegetarian meals I had in Europe! Creamed chard soup with croutons - amazing flavors and textures in one bowl. And I followed it with the pumpkin noodle - delightful and topped with toasted seeds.

Food was good. Service was quick. It filled up fast for lunch so we was happy to get a table. Def. Recommendable and prices are moderate given the location. They have all the Wiener Classic food there so if you around and look for a traditional Viennese cuisine go for it.

An absolutely lovely classic Viennese restaurant. I was tempted by their daily lunch menu which had one of my favorite dishes: meatloaf with mashed potatoes and those delicious fried onions on top. It was incredibly yummy. The servers are typical Austrian waitstaff, very classy and dignified, and they will send the dish with an impeccably attired apprentice (busboy). The difference in an upscale place can be seen in the small details: in a place like this the cutlery is better than the one I have at home, nice napkins, and glasses that shine like crystal. This place is fabulous for business meetings.

Beef tartare with strange ingredients, such as sweet peppers instead of capers. Slow service with no manners. Waiters with heavy trays have to run along the street and colliding with pedestrians.
