I loved this place! First off, top-notch service, serious hospitality here. The staff were so friendly and accommodating! The restaurant is immaculately clean and you can tell that they really thought of every detail - even in the bathroom. As a non-meat eater it’s pretty tough eating at Austrian places but this place really tries to be inclusive, having at least 1 vegan/vegetarian dish per section, which was very appreciated! Their vegan dessert (caramel tart) was amazing too, and that says a lot considering it’s not so easy to accomplish that. Hats off to them, and I highly highly recommend it!

A completely unexpected, borderline fine dining experience. If you’ve spent time in large German/Austrian restaurants you grow accustomed to large portions of food prepared with care but little in terms of nuance. This restaurant was elegant and the food was absolutely incredible. The seasonal menu focused on ingredients at their peak. Cannot recommend enough.

Is authentic Austrian cuisine and top shelf hospitality are what you're looking for? If so look no further. This restaurant was highly recommended by the Manager of a local breakfast restaurant. We were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed and served by Mathias, Chris and three other friendly staff members. They are true professionals who pride themselves on the quality of their service, as well as amazing authentic Austrian cuisine. The food was incredible and may have only been surpassed by the experience provided to us by these warm and friendly people. If your in the area, do yourself the favor of enjoying dinner here. You won't be disappointed.

Impeccable food and service, great place. The clear beef broth soup was exceptional, and the schnitzel was truly world class. We skipped desert — no space by that point!

Highly recommended if you are looking for food and experience. I’ve been there with friends and we really enjoyed our dinner. Let’s start with the environment - live piano, friendly staff, nice restaurant set up. We ordered carpaccio and meatloaf as starters to share, then I had the veal schnitzel, while my parents ordered gulasch. The schnitzel was perfectly cooked - the outside crust was crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. The gulasch was also excellent, very tasty

The traditional Austrian food being served here was really to my liking. Everything was outstandingly good and the highlight was definitely the dumpling with potato wrapping. This dish could be too heavy, yet the way it was cooked here made it simply delicious. The stuffed meat was in dices instead of minced, so it remained the meat’s texture. The potato’s texture was in between boiled potato and Mochi, and the sauce of it enhanced the flavors of the whole dumpling. The pork stew was also great, it totally removed the stink of the pork meat and the meat could melt in my mouth. The cabbage served together with the meat was cooked, but still remained crunchy. It would be amazing if the chanterelle soup could reduce the salt a bit. Also even though the service was outstanding, just like all the other Austrian places I’ve been to, the waiters asked if I would like to tip. I feel very uncomfortable being asked for tips, but I guess it is an Austrian thing.

Nice Austrian restaurant in the centre of Vienna. The photos we saw beforehand didn’t pay it justice as it’s more fancy than it looks on Google. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was excellent. The food was great but the portions were too small and it was overpriced for us.

A pure Viennese treasure! This restaurant serves traditional Austrian food in the heart of the old city. The food is quality. The schnitzel must be tried. I also enjoyed the carpaccio as a started. Do leave room for some traditional desert as well. Wine list featuring a wide variety of Austrian vintages. The service is TOP! Probably best I have ever had in Austrian. Great team. Lovely atmosphere. Will be making this a regular spot.

Great place with different vibe in every room. We went for a dinner and tried veal schnitzel, tar tar and sour cabbage soup. All was lovely. Service was on ok side but all polite. On small side, I don’t understand why they charge 3.5 for tap water considering that it is indeed just tap water? But that’s a minor thing. Overall it is very nice

I was very surprised at the excellent service friendly staff and great food at this restaurant. I also like their philosophy of good quality food from good quality sources. And the prices were decent considering this is in the center of Vienna. When you sit down they will offer water which is at a cost so if you don't want to pay for water then refuse.

This is a very classy restaurant. It’s authentic In atmosphere and in their cuisine. The food portions were just right, not too small or too big. The service was very good. Classic music in the piano room. It was very soothing and relaxing. Bathrooms are very clean. Each room had a different theme and was beautifully decorated, even the bathrooms. I would highly recommend this hidden gem. I would definitely return.

As you can see, I don’t often leave a review but the quality of food, the service, and the ambiance of this place made our night tonight (4 september 21) We made reservations in advance and was seated promptly upon our arrival. We were given some starters while we wait for our two entrees. My wife had the schnitzel and i had the ox with chanterelle veggies. My ox dish was amazing. It was full of flavor and the pairings for the side was terrific but what surprised me the most was my wife’s schnitzel. We brought our baby in so my wife had to make our 4 month sleep and her schnitzel sat for a bit. Maybe a good 15 minutes before she eat it again and i thought she was lying when she said it was still crispy the schnitzel itself was thin, light, without a trace of oil. It was paired with an amazing potato salad and spinach. After our meal we stayed for dessert and it was amazing too! Our night was completed by a very friendly staff who were happy to assist us! All in all the experience was great with the live piano playing in the background and for sure, if we make our way back to Vienna, this will be one of our stops if we want some great viennese cuisine!

The service is a bit slow and the place was not crowded, but the waiting worth it and the food is very good. The restaurant has a nice local atmosphere with possibly to seat inside or outside. Highly recommend if you are walking around Vienna city center. The Wien Schnitzel was very good and they have vegetarian options in case you need it.

If you're a tourist in Vienna and in search of an authentic Viennese restaurant with superb food and friendly service, look no further than this gem. The culinary experience here is truly exceptional, with traditional Viennese dishes that will leave you craving for more. Every single dish we had was fantastic. While it may not be the cheapest option, the quality and taste of the food make it worth every penny. We will be back.

Expensive and not that good . This is a tourist trap kind of restaurant food is ok but not justifiable a price tag of 40 euro per person . They did also take 3.5 euro per person just for sitting in an area where you can hear Piano playing.

Absolutely loved it here. Stopped in early for dinner as a solo traveler and was welcomed and seated right away. Could hear on the phone that they were all filled up with reservations after 5:30 p.m. The food, atmosphere, decor, and service were all excellent. Had the wiener schnitzel and it as perfect. Impeccably clean, and nice drinks list too. I can absolutely recommend dining here at least once.

This restaurant was a highlight from our trip to Vienna. Serving Austrian classics with a bit of the chef’s touch to make your dining memorable. We enjoyed every single bite of each dish, all dishes were presented very well and are made with locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant is cozy and decorated in a traditional rustic manner, the live piano also created a welcoming ambiance. The menu included a full course vegan selection that was very impressive. Wine list was extensive. Staff was kind and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. The sunflower seeds before and after your meal are a nice touch and a little souvenir given to you is a nice gesture as well. We would absolutely return again, the food was perfectly delicious! Thank you for zum weißen Rauchfangkehrer for this excellent experience.

Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I took the 3-course menu and was impressed by the fine soup and main dish. We ordered the Salzburger Nockerl and appreciated that we had the chance to try it.

We were told that if we wanted the best wiener schnitzel in Vienna, this was the place to be. They did not disappoint! We tried the traditional pork as well as the veal. I have to say, the pork won by a longshot (though the veal wasn't bad at all!). Breads from a local bakery were served and were divine. Natalie was very attentive and nice!

Couldn’t recommend this dining experience more. The food was incredible. As a vegetarian, it can be a challenge to find local dishes in certain places. I was so delighted to have so many options here that were all wonderful. The staff was so helpful and pleasant as well. They have great recommendations. I love how sustainable and locally sourced the ingredients were as well. If you’re visiting Vienna and want a classic Austrian experience, this is a must!

Outstanding combination of food, service, and environment. A traditionally decorated restaurant offering classic Viennese dishes. The stuff was unexpectedly friendly and polite (for Austrian standards). I ordered the ‘szegediner krautfleisch’ which was the tastiest dish I’ve tried in the country.

Decided to go there for dinner at the last minute and it exceeded our expectations. The place looked warm, cozy and authentic. Once entered, we were greeted cordially and accompanied to the table by staff who wore Austrian traditional costume. Nice touch! (and their service was impeccable) We ordered some of the signature dishes and local delicacies. They were exquisitely delicious. Since we were in the piano room, our dinner was also accompanied by live piano music. Everything was perfect!

So nice, I ate here twice! The atmosphere is traditional Austrian with little touches everywhere you look. The service was traditional Viennese, prompt and direct. The food, was next level. I had the parsley soup and the veal schnitzel, both times and I’ll be dreaming about it for years. The veal is so tender you can cut with a fork. The breading is light and crispy, even after covering it with lemon juice, it maintained the crisp crust. The potato salad was incredible with a creaminess and slight vinegar taste which I really loved. The bread was very good, the cheese bread was my favorite. I recommend getting a reservation because a table is not guaranteed. Great food, service, and ambiance!

The greatest WIENER SCHNITZEL. I tried Figlmüller, Meissl&Schaden and more. But this one is absolutely the BEST. We found the place by incident a bit hidden but very central. Cosy and old traditional interior, real original old vienese Restaurant. I hope the keep this good standard as we will be back regularly.

Excellent food, great service and atmosphere. Very much enjoyed. Very friendly staff with local vibes and recollections. Main course (ox) was excellent, loved the dessert and wine pairing. Enjoyed!

The ambiance was great, the food was good, ate sweet potato soup, delicious, pasta, also delicious and an accidental vread with i guess ham in it, i am a vegetarian. I was unfortunately at toilet when the waiter told my partner that the bread contains meat and accidentally ate one. Be careful about the complimentary food if you are vegan.

I came one day before but it is full then I came again on the 2nd day. So it is normal that I have a little bit higher expectation. But it is a sad story. I order beef tartar as starter and lamb as main course. The beef tartar looks nice, red mix green, but not the flavor. The beef itself mix with some very strong flavors ingredients which make the avocado totally missing. And so thus the beef itself, I taste nothing but the strong flavor. And then is the lamb, how to say, it is even worse than the tartar. Cause at least the beef tartar could bring you some surprise, the lamb brings only disappoint. 3 stars is because of the service and the beer.

Highly recommend Great food. Great wine list. Very helpful manager. Very well priced. I had, what I would say is a deconstructed pork knuckle. Wonderfully presented, refined and thoughtful taste.

Had an amazing meal. The service is profounding, you really feel like they care. If you want to try a true vienna schnitzel that's definitely the place. Also the piano player really helped making the mood even better.

One of the top rated places in the city for Wiener schnitzel. The interiors of the restaurant is also designed in a very creative and funny way. It offers a very cozy environment.

First visit in Vienna and first time to try the famous dish « Wiener Schnitzel ». I chose the veal and it was very tender and well golden crunchy. The portion was very big and it comes with potato salad. I found that it tasted better with cranberry sauce. I also ordered grape juice which was very refreshing and sweet. Lovely ambience and great service. However, i think it’s quite expensive for the schnitzel (23€+2€ for the sauce).

Wonderful food, service and atmosphere We had deer cuts and schnitzel, both delicious. They have a vast choice of local schnapps. The place is beautiful and cozy. Service was great, the host was very warm, welcoming and helpful.
