Outstanding. If you wish to experience Austrian food beyond Wiener Schnitzel, this is your place. Wonderful fine dining without any fussy service. Simply good. Daily short menu, any selection will be good. English understood. I would eat here every night during my visit and save myself from disappointment. Nice wine selection and reasonable prices for quality offered. A short walk from Volkstheater Metro stop. Inside and outdoor dining.

Very friendly, accepted us without reservation, excellent service, very tasty food and selection of Viennese and Austrian wines. Veal cooked and schnitzel. Recommend it.

We had a nice dinner. We tried beef soup, grilled fish, wiener snitzel - everything was delicious. The place itself has a nice terrace. Waiters were nice and kind. Suggested to visit it :)

Very cozy, lovely place run by one family for more than 50 years in a small house built in 19 century. Limited, not too chip menu and wine cart, however, wonderful atmosphere, very tasty local food and attentive people. Definitely a great choice for a romantic dinner in Vienne!

A lovely beautifully situated restaurant. We liked the climate here from the beginning. We have been 2 times and were not disappointed during our short 3 day stay in Vienna. We were served by the lovely waiter Emre. Very good food, from schnitzel to vegetarian dishes, ending with desserts. It gives 5 stars with a clear conscience. Greetings to the waiter Emre (Szymon from Poland).

Waiting for the mains for about 1,5 hours, getting rather bored. The waiter poured new wine in the previously used wine glasses. Chaotic. Meh. Sad because the food is good and the place is cute but the service is on crack. Would love to order desert but afraid will miss the flight in two days if we do.

I was in Vienna for the first time and it was my first taste of Wiener Schnitzel, it was delicious. I also ordered Tafelspitz and it was also amazing. I recommend this place if you are in Vienna

It is always a pleasure to sit in the outside part of this restaurant in the Burggasse and enjoy the daily specials and classic offerings on the menu board. For this particular luncheon, we enjoyed the tartar of young herring (Matjes) and the classic Tafelspitz dish with creamed spinach. Both were well-prepared and generous. Service is attentive and friendly.

Fantastic restaurant for traditional Viennese cuisine. Make sure to be seated upstairs for an authentic, classy 1900s era vibe. Their tafelspitz is the best in town.

We booked a table through The Fork app. Very friendly service, excellent beer, delicious food. Plus for the English menu. We recommend!

Website and description suggest it's trad but modern. Nope. Just trad. You can tell as you walk in - the place hasn't been redecorated since the 1970s. I thought I'd play it safe with what they should do best and so I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel but it was plain and ordinary. It came with mash and roasties and that was it. Maybe I picked the wrong thing off the menu. Waiter was nice but had too much to do so the service was slow. On the positive side, the "snack" at the beginning was a bone marrow thing which was actually lovely. Come on guys, the website's up to date, invest in your chef, your décor and some extra staff.

It is a simple and typical restaurant. I suggest the first floor with respect to the ground one. The service was good and the waiter kind. The food was good, we had schnitzel and potatoes. They were not excellent but good, I would suggest it.

If you make a reservation in this restaurant make sure to ask for a table in the room on the first floor (that’s what this place is famous for). It is indeed a tiny, cute, imperial -style room. BUT, if you don’t do so you might end up at a table at the ground floor. We still haven’t figured out according to which criteria the very rude waiter decided wether you get a table in the regular, beautiful room or on the ground floor that looks like a low-level Gasthaus with overpriced food, horrible furniture, poor service and gets freezing cold every now and then since the door doesn’t close properly. The ground floor is really small and people keep coming in all the time causing it to get very cold. The food was ok but not excellent and there are 5 main dishes to choose from. One vegetarian option only. After asking the chief waiter to please get a table in the regular room (since this was the reason why we booked this restaurant in the first place, like everyone else!) he couldn’t give us a plausible answer and had us waiting 30 minutes before coming to get our drink order. We asked in a polite manner and were at no time rude to the staff. As a waiter myself I was shocked and very irritated by the way we were treated at this place. I think it’s been one of the worst overall culinary experiences (service, food, location, management) I had in Vienna in the past 20 years.
