👍👍 The best okonomiyaki ever. Great service & udon (okonomiyaki is no longer served). Really tiny eatery. Despite narrow sit and all, I would recommend this place. I had nabeyaki udon with shrimps. Udon by hiroko San is just fantastic 👌 People often mention Japanese, restaurant, Vienna, authentic, good,

Reasonably priced, family run authentic Japanese restaurant. They have limited menu to control quality, I’ve only tried their lunch menu but I’m assuming quality of others will be similar. Not amazing but good enough for Japanese (or non Japanese) to have something similar to what they have at home

Went there for the first time today (as it is open only until 5pm) and was not disappointed. Great and friendly staff that greet and say goodbye to you all together. Food was excellent, I had the Beef Udon: silky noodles, hearty broth and tender meet, simply amazing. The food does not arrive immediately, but takes a bit of time as it is prepared from scratch (soup comes boiling hot, so watch out). Definitively worth the short wait, which you can use to look around in the tiny shop, that looks exactly how I would imagine a Japanese Udon place to look like. 5 stars without any doubt, I will be back.

Great real Japanese food! Tiny place in Naschmarkt. The food is great and the selection large (no vegan, i'm afraid). The prices are not cheap but quality is top. Finally, the place is VERY small and takes no reservations, so be ready to wait... or order to take away. I made a pic of the menu. Enjoy!!

Hole-in-the-wall restaurant, quite tiny with just 8 seats available inside but the most authentic and delicious Japanese cooking you will find anywhere in Vienna. Staff is also incredibly friendly and kind. They're only open on Fridays and Saturdays but I highly recommend coming here if you want to taste real Japanese food.

Nice little Japanese place where you can find good authentic Japanese food. The drawbacks are that it can only seat 8 and that you can pay cash only. Preparation takes about 20 minutes, but all is hot. This is the only place I found when I was looking to eat something other than soups and sushi / sashimi. I ordered a beef okonomy yaki, but because of the preparation time, ordered some takoyaki also. Employees are really nice and try to help. They also don’t look funny at you if you ask for a knife and fork (they actually have a large collection). The restaurant is easy to find and has access to public transport, especially by underground metro, being in the Naschmarket. All in all, if I find an empty seat, I’ll take it.

It seems like a very authentic Japanese restaurant, my gf and I had two calpis with water, two miso soups and two times the teriyaki don (chicken). Calpis was good, served really chilled, the tofu in the miso soup was amazingly soft, it melted in the mouth. The teriyaki chicken was ok, it tasted different than at a random noodle bar as the sauce was self made. Also the rice was one of the best I ever had, really sticky and well cooked. Overall great experience, I would have wished for more veggies in the dish, just some pieces of chicken on rice for € 13.5 is improvable. Overall we paid € 40 what is ok - pricey. The restaurant is really small and cosy, if you are big I wouldn't recommend going there.

The best Japanese food I've had in Vienna. Delicious Udon and Somen, very tasty Onigiri as well. Tiny, cozy restaurant with very limited seating; seats 8 ppl at most on tables outside, not many more inside. It can be difficult to get a spot at peak hours (early lunchtime, approx. 12:00-13:30), as it's right next to the well-known market. The place has a very typical Japanese feel to it - not only because of its miniature format and bench-style inside seating, but also because of the extremely warm and friendly service. With their kindness and their delicious food, the family that runs this place provides some much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of Naschmarkt. Strong recommendation.

I have been their regular customer for many years, and the high quality still remains the same. Owned and operated by Japanese family from Kyoto, their home-cooked dishes are totally delicious and authentically Japanese; Unlike other Japanese/Asian restaurants in Vienna where the food is westernised to suit local/Austrian taste. Kuishimbo is very small but cosy. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. You cannot reserve so you must wait for a seat. But the excellent food is worth the wait. There is a 2nd larger Kuishimbo now (opened June 2018 & run by the son) at Esterhazygasse 12, 6th District.

One of the best authentic Japanese place in the area. There is only ten seats available. The owners are very friendly. It's quite expensive but what isn't in Vienna?

I am happy to report that this is still the best ramen you can find anywhere outside of Japan and that it is still served fresh, hot, and delicious, despite the restaurant changing names. I specifically made time in my visit to Vienna to come back to one of my favorite restaurants in the city and it is just as good as I remember. Friendly & kind staff, quick service and most importantly: so good!!! If this charming hole in the wall ramen spot doesn’t win you over I don’t know what will. Do yourself a favor and go here!
