I walked up at 6PM (1800) and did not need a reservation. Although that is a very american time to eat dinner. They got us in right away and the service was quick and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed this restaurant and recommend other tourists check it out for a local experience.

The atmosphere is great and cozy. We ordered the classical snitsel and it was nice, we preferred the pork over the chicken.

What a treat. The atmosphere, the service, the food was fantastic. Appetizers were very tasty...baked brie, whole garlic cloves and Cranberry sauce. Wonderful combination. The beef broth with sliced homemade crepes and added vegetables...Hit the spot on a cool rainy evening. The schnitzel was perfect as was the pasta with ham Short ribs were very good, they did not disappoint. The desserts were incredible. I mean WOW! Chocolate Moose was perfect.. You won't want to share Sampled various desserts every one spot on...treat yourself!

This place is really nice with a cozy environment and decoration. The food was nice and the staff also were nice. The food was tasty. It was served between 10 to 15 minutes. The food is freshly cooked. I recommend you to reserve a table before going there. Because it’s always full. As it seemed to me. Which tells you that the food here is really good. I really enjoyed it. And it was worthy

We came following the recommendation of our hotel. Sadly the food was OK but not amazing at all..we didn't really enjoy most of the dishes. Service wasn't great either, inpatient and a bit rude. It cost us less than what we paid the previous night at a restaurant in the historical center (but I would rather pay more and eat well tbh) The food wasn't bad, just not great. A lot was extremely salty for example. We were a big group and we tried several things, overall we were disappointed.

the place itself isn’t bad, the location is ok and the position is good. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up the expectations. I got a beef roulade and my girlfriend had a schnitzel. Maybe i didn’t enjoy the food because it didn’t really meet my tastes, so i suggest you to shoot your shot and give it a try anyways.

The food was amazing however they were very unwelcoming to English speakers. We stayed across the street at a hotel and our receptionist recommended this restaurant. I called the restaurant and asked for a reservation where they told me no and that they’re booked out. I didn’t think anything of this at this point in time. Our receptionist found this out, and thought it was strange, so made a phone call to the restaurant speaking German and booked a table under a different name. They all of a sudden had a table available for us. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty. Nobody was sitting indoors and the courtyard had two other parties. They were indeed not full and had plenty of space, and turned us away most likely due to my English speaking on the phone. I don’t understand this as we want to spend our money there, leave a good tip… and they just turned away our business. Also to add, at the end of our dinner, the restaurant was definitely busier however it was nowhere near full.

Amazing restaurant just a little trip away from the main sites. The food is fantastic and the wait staff was so helpful. The prices are great as well. We had boiled beef, salmon and celery soup,.all were delicious.

Classic Austrian restaurant. When we visited, only locals were there so you know the schnitzels are tasty and well priced. Apero drinks are super affordable. €4,5 for an Aperol Spritz was a nice surprise!

My wife and I had dinner there one night and truly enjoyed it. We ate on the patio area and that was a must on such a hot summer day as it was way too hot inside the restaurant. The food was quite good and service excellent at a decent price.

A lunch or dinner at Fromme Helene in the heart of Josefstadt should be TOP of the list for excellent Austrian cuisine, lovely attentive service, and a cozy authentic atmosphere both inside and in the courtyard. My first night I enjoyed a perfectly cooked schnitzel that arrived steaming hot with a cold juicy lemon within 5 minutes of ordering with a cheerful elegant "Mahlzeit" upon delivery. The potato salad was a creamy tangy perfection. The waiters were generous with their time to answer questions about the menu and give personal recommendations on local Austrian wine and beer pairings. My second visit featured tender and highly flavorful goulash and my third night ended with a dream worthy, decadent, and highly recommended chocolate cloud cake served with silky ganache and fluffy whipped cream. Markus and Moritz are both exceptionally good servers who made me feel right at home. If you're anywhere near the Rathaus or Parliament - venture up the hill to Josefstadt and treat yourself to this restaurant.

As local as it gets! Authentic Viennese cuisine- Wiener schnitzel was delicious - light and full of flavour. Great wine selection too and friendly servers. The little courtyard patio around the back is a great spot lunch. Highly recommend.

Overall good dining experience. Ordered the smoked salmon, cream, and toast with the weinerschnitzel. The salmon itself was nothing special but the cream brought a needed bang to the dish. Paired extremely well with the toast and salmon. Good portion size. The schnitzel had a light airy batter. The traditional Cranberry sauce paired much better than the ketchup as it wasn't as overpoweringly sweet. The meat itself was a little dry, but consistency was perfect. Comes with a side of potato salad. The potatoes had an amazing creamy yet chunky prescence within the dish and the red onion topping made it a perfect intermission between bites of the weinerschnitzel. Good portion size. Fast and friendly service while not overbearing. Great atmosphere. No amex accepted.

The room was nice and spacious with nice detail such as the little coffee maker. The spa-area was great, nice saunas one hot and one wet. They also have a pretty dope gym if you wanna work off the schnitzel. We really enjoyed the location it was easy to go by first train and then bus. There were manny good restaurants around that area ,and it was a good starting point for exploring the city. The beds are on the firmer side, but to me still okay comfortable bed. But not luxurious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In short I had a great time staying at this hotel and I would definitely recommend it. No English tv channels, which we thought was kinda sad after a long days walk.
