It's a nice place with good food! Had an original Wiener Schnitzel here for the first time and it definitely didn't disappoint. I was just missing some potatoes (there only were some cold ones in the salad) and it's quite expensive. The staff is really friendly though and the food pretty good.

Tucked away behind the museum quarter, with a nice garden area. The service is efficient yet non-friendly (a Viennese standard 😂🙈) and the food is good and slightly overpriced. It’s a nice place to come if you’re nearby but not really a destination place for me 🙏

Our hotel in Vienna recommended Glacis Beisl to us and it was by far the best food we had eaten on our travels around Europe. The flavour of each dish was amazing, the restaurant is a great experience in a relaxing setting, the staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend the black pudding on honey cabbage and the beef goulash.

As soon as we walked down the stairs I was utterly charmed. The beautiful garden, the smell of the food, the happy people dining. All delightful! combine that with the world class service from Peter, who read us right and recommended us a "Children's Disco" Orange wine that we would gladly have again and again! the good was great quality and well thought out. And also great value. I'll be back! And thank you again Peter for your friendliness and encyclopedic knowledge of all things wine!

Nice place. It was like an oasis in 30+°C summer day. Good selection of wines but not beers. Friendly crew. Had a very tasty (but salty) goulash. You can easily find a seat in weekdays around 4-5 pm.

During wither season, this restaurant isn’t that nice. I bet people come here for the terrace, it’s amazing. I didn’t like the food that much, it’d like it didn’t have any taste at all. We had the duck liver pate as appetiser and the beef steak as main. The dessert was also a disappointment: gingerbread something… The service was nice and fast. Overall, I wouldn’t comeback.

Lovely atmospheric garden - perfect for a summer's evening. You can have traditional Austrian fare - I went with the schnitzel, which was tasty, crunchy and delicious. Just be aware that you’re going to a very popular place, so book ahead 😉

We’ve visited for a Sunday lunch and have left with mixed feelings. It’s a very popular place also among locals. Interior is very classic, old-austrian style, I think. Menu is also rather traditional- we’ve both ordered Viennese Schnitzel with side salad and hash brown potatoes. Food was just ok, but portion size was massive. Overall I think it’s overpriced (especially drinks and side dishes) and the atmosphere is not so great. We felt we need to rush ourselves to order and eat fast, not to enjoy a meal during holidays in Vienna.

Amazing wine restaurant with a little pub feel. Hidden behind the MQ down a flight of funky stairs, the restaurants offers literally all traditional, authentic Austrian cuisine at reasonable prices. The Goulash was the best I had throughout my entire trip in Vienna. The place is very kids/baby friendly too! Definitely will return, thumbs up!

Although we arrived without a prior reservation due to my friend's oversight, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Our preference was to dine outdoors, and luckily, the restaurant had a charming garden area with perfect weather. I decided to take a chance and approach the manager, who was incredibly accommodating. Thanks to his kindness, we secured a central table that allowed us to fully savor the delightful atmosphere during our dinner. I am grateful 🙏🏼 for the exceptional service and wonderful evening.

Great food at very reasonable prices. The dumplings and schnitzel were excellent. The restaurant itself is down some stairs and away from the road so it’s quiet and the atmosphere is good.

Very cute place to have lunch in the garden on a sunny day. Beautiful nice people everywhere with great food. Be careful don’t order too much the portions are really big we struggled a bit there :). For starters we had the gazpacho and the goat cheese mousse salad which I for sure recommend. Price wise it is a very good deal. For our main dish I had the wiener schnitzel which was good but not worth the price around 25 EUR while my girlfriend had a caraméliséd pasta which was only 10 EUR and delicious. Beers and natural wine selection is also great and interesting. Thank you David for the recommendation we will be back :) I forgot it’s a great place to go for mother or Father’s Day or for a nice outing with you grandmother.

The food I had was very good. I had goulash with bread and homemade Marillenknödel as dessert, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The outdoor seating area is lovely. Service was robotic in English, but quite friendly.

This place is quite nice quaint little place in the center of Vienna. The staff is friendly, they speak English, and have the tastiest meals. It's popular with the locals as well, which always means a lot. And it doesn't hurt that it's situated in the dead center of Vienna either 🙂.

A wonderful place for a summer lunch or dinner in their garden. Cozy and warm for a winter evening. The menu has a perfectly balanced mix of authentic Austrian food and daily dishes. Reservation is highly recommended.

Really nice place with good food. The staff was nice and helpful. Just found it a bit expensive for what they offer, compared to other places in Vienna. Would come back to try other options, but didn't feel in love with it.

Friends from LA had recommended I stop in here as a highlight of my Vienna trip and it did not disappoint, was so packed that I had to sit on the side so I’d recommend making a reservation! Food was incredible, the hosts were warm and I felt very at home. As cliché as getting the schnitzel was, I’m very glad I did. Will definitely go back.

A good restaurant with many tables in a nice garden. We tried the wiener schnitzel and it was really good. The place is usually very crowded so you will probably have to book a table in advance if you want to try this place. Worth the try

Come for the Schnitzel (a humongous portion) stay for the garden. Strategically placed just above (attached, in a way) the Museumsquartier, between the 6th and the 7th district, Glacis Beisl comes with a nice garden, overpriced food and (average) traditional dishes. Great for visitors and fans of the Austrian cuisine in the summer looking for a Viennese Schnitzel, a Vienna experience imperative

We were lucky to get in without a reservation as the place was packed, and for good reason. Lovely atmosphere and even better food. Following the waitresses recommendations, we had the classic grammel dumplings on sauerkraut, which had an incredible texture, and a seasonal summer dish (it was July) with a delicious Schwammerl mushroom sauce. The dessert was also very tasty. Can’t wait to come back.

I really liked the garden, it's lovely and comfy! Also the location is very central. Since it's a typical austrian restaurant with a very short dish menu I was very happy to see several vegetarian options. But the portions were tiny. I had the stuffed paprika with couscous and veggies (vegan) and it was supposed to be a main dish, but as you see, it was really small. It was very delicious though.

Enjoyed a real Viennese lunch under the grape tree. Was a little annoying that ants crawled up to the plates, but they also seemed to know that the dishes we had were amazing. Such a nice place.

Really nice place. Food is well cooked. The service is good, but the staff was a bit stressed. They forgot to place my order, the wife got hers. Al in all, I'll recommend them.

I had a wonderful waiter and he was so kind. It is a beautiful garden area. Everybody raved about the food, but mine was just OK. The radler was good but warm. My salad was limp and the leaves were turning brown. It was drowning in whatever the dressing was. So I couldn’t eat it.

The cream soup is super great but salads are very basic. As main dish, we had meat ball which was named “dumpling” on their menu, that was terrible. it You should not try it. Interior is nothing special.

Best restaurant we have visited in Vienna. Authentic, welcoming, warm atmosphere and, of course, amazing food. The goulash was rich and unctuous and the dumpling with sauerkraut was super. All washed down with delightful Austrian wine. The place was mobbed as the Spittleberg Christmas market was close by (the best in my opinion)

Came on a snowy day after our visit at the museum. We were lucky enough to get a table for lunch even though we went without any reservation. This place was packed at lunch so service was not the best. Ordered the beef goulash and roasted trout, both are really good! We stayed here for quite a while to hide from the snow. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.

If you are in Vienna, not only you have to try Sacher cake but you can never miss Viennese Schnitzel. My hotel recommended Glacis Beisl. I asked my friend who is born and raise here in Austria and she confirmed it. It’s a beautiful setting offering multiple variety of schnitzel and traditional dishes. It took a while for my schnitzel to arrive given how busy they were today. The schnitzel was fluffy and crispy. So delicious I could eat a couple more, if I had room. For dessert, I’d had their ice cream and it was very good, loved it, ice cream had a great flavour, creamy and not too sweet. Service was great, my server was very helpful and had the cutest accent. I added this place to my have to return list. Especially in mid summer. When I return next, I would love to try the sausage, other schnitzels and more of their desserts. * you might see a strange fee on your receipt for €3.°° which I think it’s absolutely fair to charge for White cloth tablecloth, napkin, bread plate, knife, Butter or spread, house bread, bread roll. It is mentioned on the menu.

We were lucky to find a place without a reservation. Although the food was excellent. The service was pretty substandard, and I think its because they were short staffed. We wanted to try the highlighted dessert but had to wait for 20 min before someone asked us anything. We just asked for the check, thinking it would take another 25 min for dessert service. Well, if you have about 2hr time to spend over lunch. Then may be this is the place for you.

We had a Wiener Schnitzel on our first evening in Vienna! The schnitzel was really tasty, very thin and the crust was also nicely done. The homemade limonade is also very tasty! The place was full, so making a reservation would be recommended.

Nice location!! The menu is interesting. There are typical Austrian dishes such as Schnitzel but also dishes of the day. It is a little overpriced but the portions are big.

This place is good for having some drinks at a cozy courtyard, with a nice and fast service. When it comes to food - be careful: in the menu, everything sounds better than it tastes (and looks ?). And better stay away from Asparagus-Avocado salad (you may see it on the last photo) - it’s a pure disappointment.

Really nice tafelspitze and roast beef(super tender) a bird nest opposite of our table in a olive tree made it complete, only negative a waiter who was harsh and we had to look for our own table bcs he just walked awake.the rest of personal was really helpful and nice

Perfect Food for a cold afternoon! My son and I came for a late lunch/early dinner at around 4 PM. We had no reservation but we were given a nice cozy booth until 6:30 which was more than enough time to enjoy the lovely nutty pumpkin soup, the hearty veal goulash and the delicious schnitzel. The maitre’d was most accommodating and service was prompt. A wonderful dining experience!

Legit Weiner schnitzel!!! It comes with a salad and boy was I happy. It has a nice ambience with a garden which is nice in summer but I sat inside a booth. Service was prompt and food came in no time. I also ordered the dessert which was some kind of sweet dumplings and it was heavenly. I had food coma afterwards so I walked around the city to burn it off. Highly recommended!!!

Lovely restaurant. Eating in the garden was great. In the menu you can find traditional austrian food, or something more "innovative" and you won't regreat any of them. Excellent wine list, with many natural wines. Staff nice and friendly. Don't forget to book, It Is always crowded.

Fast service, classic Austrian cuisine, nice and plentiful outside seating in warmer months. Menu is limited but nice and constantly changing, and the dishes are tasty and not too big of a serving. Prices are a bit higher though, and the ambience doesn’t really ooze high class - more of a touristy feeling than anything, which is unfortunate.

I thought Glacis Beisl would be a pub, but it is a rather elegant restaurant. Hence the meals all delcious, the flavours distinctive and service is very attentive. Desert of the day was a little disappointing: a very simple traybake. Another minus for serving the beer in a wine glass. Make sure to book a table when the weather is good.

Usually an excellent place to enjoy a good meal, but .. Nice location w/ garden. Ok reception (usually, that is - see end of review) Ample menu. Great choice of beers and wines. Good service. Big and tasty portions. Fair price value. But. I wish I had not been there Friday afternoon. Overlooking a near empty garden I had the displeasure to ask one of their waiters whether they had room for two guests. The feedback can be best described as „borderline hostile arrogance“ A right pity.

Interesting place: though it could be just a tourist trap with that location, it isn't! Good selection of wines (also natural/orange wines) , three beers from tap and a menu with a rather traditional dishes, all very satisfying and good. A little crowded on Sundays.

This is a great place to be with Austrian cuisine. Great service and high food quality. I find it bit expensive but it is simply so good that it's worth spending time and money here. On certain days they have live piano music. Very lovely.
