While I will say the food was delicious and I have no complaints to the chef. I had the steak sandwich and it was delicious as well as the cinnamon desert. However the service was a completely atrocious. Once the food was served we did not see the waitress again. Our plates were taken and we continued to wait 45 min for the check and another 15 to take our payment. this happened after repeatedly asking for someone to help us. Even though the food was great this establishment is headed downwards if this quality of service does not improve.

Lugeck is a fantastic classic Austrian restaurant that is absolutely worth your time. Whenever we visit a new country, we always want to try the local cuisine first, and as one of us is gluten-free, sometimes it is a bit of a struggle. Not here - they even have gluten-free wienerschnitzel here! Can you believe it?! And it’s even better than most regular wienerschnitzel!! We came very late and despite that we’re given excellent service, food came out very quickly, and it was all very good. We got the organic Herr Frischend sodas as our drinks, and they great - definitely would recommend if you’re not wanting something alcoholic. As for our meals, we had the gluten-free wienerschnitzel and the Viennese-style boiled beef in a pot…it doesn’t sound very impressive, but it actually was very good. It’s a fun and unique dish - you first pour the broth on top of the meat/vegetables in your bowl, have it as a soup first, then eat the big slabs of beef at the end! It was very filling! All in all, awesome restaurant, and we will definitely be coming back next time we are in Vienna!

The boiled beef, is very simple but the best broth you've ever tasted. It was a very nice surprise. The potato salad that comes with the schnitzel was also very tasty. Waiters had no problem with our dog. A lot of food. Totally worth it and less crowded than the resto next door

Tried for the first time Wiener Schnitzel and Potato Salad and both was superb. We enjoyed especially the potato salad and their craft beer. At first we were skeptical about the prices, but definitely worth it, not just because of food but also because of the great service.

Walk-in on a Sunday late afternoon worked out just fine! Quick sitting, clean environment, nice decor and attentive service (without being exaggerated). Schnitzels were quite good (a little more paper thin than ideal) & potato salad was very well-balanced. Fair prices to top it off. It’s a place worth giving a go to try Viennese classics!

Came here to sample the schnitzel and it did not disappoint. In fairness, everything was yummy. I loved the cauliflower curry, the beet salad, and the soup as well. All were fresh and full of flavour. Loved the modern vibe in the place too. Highly recommend.

Amazing meal here at Lugeck. It was not where we had planned to go for lunch, but since the other Figls seemed to have neverending lines, we were told they could always seat us. And they did! Lovely table and a beautiful modern decor. Service by Umut was really great! He gave us lots of suggestions and I am so glad I opted for the goose! It was like Christmas on a platter - perfectly cooked, delicious and delicate, and BIG! My partner got the Schnitzel since that’s what we had planned to eat at Figl - also really great, and a lovely crisp Austrian wine. Would definitely recommend, and I have a feeling we probably got a less rushed service than had we continued waiting in line across the street.

Overrated. The schnitzel was decent but the price is always getting higher. We asked if the chicken schnitzel (which wasn’t on the menu) was the same price and the waiter said yes, when in fact it was much cheaper. A bit of a tourist trap. Much easier to find better and MUCH cheaper schnitzel elsewhere.

Had the Viennese Soup with a semolina dumpling, and then the Viennese style minced veal with mashed potatoes. Excellent, with wonderful draft bear on the side. Great atmosphere, very good service.

Such a great experience! The food was delicious. I can't remember the last time I eat so well. The decor is interesting. Customer service is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to everyone who visits this beautiful city.

During our first visit to Lugeck, we decided to try a variety of authentic Viennese dishes. We ordered the grilled charr special, herb pasta, Viennese fried chicken, and Schnitzel, and all were absolutely delicious. Fried chicken was our favorite - it was incredible. Overall, we were extremely pleased with both the quality of the food and the level of service provided by the restaurant.

The schintzel and the deep fried chicken were delicious! A bit on the expensive side, but I think it's worth it. Highly recommended only if you book in advance, as the waiting time in the queue can be quite long.

We have been 2 times, the first time the Wiener Schnitzel was good because we took the version of the meat of the veal and fresh fries. There was also a portion of the salad, but a large amount of breading compared to others. The service was ok. The second time we ordered the same, but instead of a veal we got pork on the day at this price, maybe a waitress's mistake, maybe a lack of veal meat, which was tough, tough and evidently already prepared in advance, warm of course, but the taste and smell were already not the one that interested us. Desserts big and good but this is a restaurant closer to fast food, fast, lots for mass quantity. There are better restaurants.

Great food. My favorites were the potato salad that came with the schnitzel and the kaiserscharren. Really appreciated the mixed greens salad that came with my cabbage pasta. Would recommend this restaurant for a great selection of traditional food. They have some vegan and vegetarian options. It took quite a while to order and to pay but the food and drinks were served very fast. Like the interior.

Stumbled upon this lovely restaurant randomly. The menu is awesome and for anyone. The steak sandwich was heavenly, so all the other food we ordered. At the moment they have a huge beer menu as well, where you can discover beers from rather small breweries across Austria. Loved everything about this place.

One of my favourite restaurants in Vienna at any time of the year! This restaurant is part of the Figelmüller family but is a slightly different concept to their Schnitzel restaurants. Lugeck is more of a high end contemporary inn serving an array of traditional and non-traditional cuisine. The traditional is of course Viennese/ Austrian! There is always a specials menu too and it invariably reflects the incredible seasonality of Austrian cuisine. The food is consistently good, the service efficient and friendly and the ambience bustling! In summer they have a lovely outdoor area which is well shaded too

Came here for dinner with my team tonight, and the food was amazing! The Truffle Potato Soup was delicious, they were not cheap with the truffle oil in the soup - I could have another bowl. The Wiener Schnitzel was great, very thin and the batter was light and perfect! Dessert was also amazing! Overall, highly recommend coming to get a taste of Vienna!

We came here twice during our stay. The big plus is that it’s quite a big restaurant with multiple floors so although there is some queue, you can get a table quite easily. The food was delicious, specially the veal goulash, fried chicken and steak sandwich.

Visited 2022. Great restaurant in a cute area with great outdoor seating. They were very busy but we were able to get a table. They warned us that they had a reservation coming at a certain time but was plenty for us to eat and sit for awhile. Had a traditional Viennese dish and it was delicious. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful also. Nice staff.

It was an amazing experience! We haven't booked the table but we're seated right away anyway. The staff speaks English and can explain the dishes well. We ordered schnitzel ofcourse and a salad with goat cheese. It was absolutely delicious! I recommend it 100%!

The schnitzel was very good together with the salad, the potato truffle soup was also super creamy. Service was good and prompt. We visited during lunch on a Monday but they did manage to squeeze us in.

The restaurant tends to get very busy on weekends, so it's advisable to make a reservation to avoid waiting in line at the door. It truly captures the essence of Austrian cuisine, with a majority of their main dishes being Austrian, some even specific to Vienna. The goulash dish is prepared in a unique way, and I had the pleasure of trying Viennese-style goulash for the first time. I must also mention that the veal liver dish was absolutely delicious. The restaurant offers a diverse selection of homemade wines, with more than 4 varieties available. The service was satisfactory, and the restroom facilities were well-maintained. In terms of pricing, we paid a total of 50€ for a veal liver, goulash, bread with butter, and drinks. Overall, it was a good dining experience. The only minor criticism I have is that the bread served was not heated, which could have been a more thoughtful touch considering it was a separately ordered dish. In summary, it is a place worth revisiting to explore other enticing flavors.

Great Viennese food! Welcoming hosts and team was attentive, and the timing was great. Can be slow when very busy but not an annoyance. Location is great and the restaurant itself is great! Food is great, perfect schnitzel and potatoes! Affordable and the dessert was excellent! Always reserve before coming as the line can be very long.

I go there without any reservation and after a short time they manage to squeeze me and my love in. We had a nice table in the corner of the restaurant with a view from the window. I had Wiener schnitzel with a sauce recommended by the waiter. The food was amazing, but the price was also expensive :))

Great restaurant! Food is tasty (big portions), and it was fast prepared. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I tried fried chicken with potato salad, it was great! My friends had traditional Vienna schnitzel, with roseberry sauce and green salad, it was also great. Highly recommended! (And, if you can't eat everything, since the big portions, they are more than happy to prepare it as it was takeaway)

I was very curious to try this restaurant and it was nice! The goulash with potatoes was superb, the Schnitzel also delicious but non the best one I’ve tried so far. It’s a cozy place but a little bit pricey compared to other good places in the area. The service was very good and fast!

Great location, very nice and relaxing vibe. The food was not what I expected (had the shnitzel veal but prefer chicken), but truffle mayonnaise was very tasty! The salad is simple with a delicious sauce and comes as a side dish for some meals such as the Austrian pasta.

Definitely a must-try when you visit Vienna. Lugeck is in such a cool and impressive building, and the food, interior design, and service match the exterior. We ordered a salad, Wiener schnitzel (make sure you order the lingonberry sauce on the side if you like sweet and salty), and steak sandwich, and all were delicious. The portions are generous, so make sure you go hungry! Also, would highly recommend making a reservation so you don’t have to wait in line (it’s a very popular spot!)

  • 5/5 Angie B. 1 year ago on Google
Great location in a stunning building with an equally impressive & chic interior design both upstairs & downstairs. More importantly, friendly service with great Austrian food & their house craft beer. Was busy during lunchtime so best to book ahead. Weather was sunny today so we sat outdoors with our Lugeck beers, appetisers of sourdough bread which was served in a paperbag with herbed cream cheese butter. Then had the salmon beetroot with avocado smash on toast followed by their famous Wiener Schnitzel made of veal which was super light, thin & super tender - they perfected this well ! Brilliant meal - enjoyed it very much - would highly recommend!

We ordered Chicken schnitzel ( served with Potato salad) and boiled Beef ( served with fried potato salad), both were very tasty. The best potato salad I have tried so far 😋 Very central location, average prices, for dinner reservation is needed.

  • 5/5 Anahita K. 4 months ago on Google
We did not have a reservation for lunch but were seated quickly. The place does get very busy for dinner with lines forming out of the door, so if you don’t want to wait lunch seems to be a better option. Both of the dishes were very tasty! Schnitzel was tender with a crispy crust, and the Tafelspitz was beefy and hearty! Their potato salad was phenomenal!

  • 4/5 Fang H. 7 months ago on Google
The place is nice. Ordered the boiled beef. It was a bit salty but compared with other Viennese restaurant, I think it was ok. The portion was ok. There's no bone marrow in the soup and not much vegetables in the soup. The rolled horseradish was heavy.

  • 5/5 Cristina P. 9 months ago on Google
The food here was delicious. The cream potato soup is just… heaven. I also recommend the house beer. I would advise to make a reservation online because there can be long waiting times for a table if you don’t have one.

Chic and super fun! This cafe has a relaxed vibe and the location makes it perfect for you to sit by and soak in the flavour of the city. We ordered local beer, Austrian pasta which came with a salad on the side and a veggie burger which was huge! Felt the pasta could’ve been better as compared to other Viennese places we tried. But the overall look and feel was quite fun so do drop by here if you’re visiting Vienna.

4/5- food was very good, service was friendly and professional and Atmosphere was nice. We were promptly seated inside (no reservation), the external garden seating area is most popular but be sure to make a reservation- not available for us. Inside there was some background music and the restaurant was busy but not too loud. Perfect for conversation. The service was professional and friendly. Meals were served in a timely manner considering the steak cooking/rest time. I ordered the Tafelspitz, my daughter had the Fillet steak, and my wife had the chicken salad. The Tafelspitz (my first time eating) was very tasty, but did not have the traditional bone marrow -but overall a very nice dish. My daughters steak was amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and very tender. My wife’s chicken salad was also nice. We paid €105 (with a tip) for the three of us a no alcohol.

The food was OK, we ordered Schnitzel and Truffle soup, we tried both the Veal and Chicken schnitzel, they taste almost the same, I liked the chicken slightly more, the soup has a strong truffle taste which I didn't like a lot. The service was good except that at the end the waiter asked for a tip and added 10% as a tip without asking me the amount I wanted to tip.

Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were able to eat our meals after waiting 40-45 minutes. We preferred Schnitzel, it was very delicious. Especially the potato salad on the side!

A great restaurant under a historical building. It was the best schnitzel I have ever eaten in my life. Additionally, the Austrian style potato salad I ate with it was also very delicious. 🤤

It was very busy at Figlmüller so we decided to walk a few steps to Lugeck. We could be seated immediately eventhough it was very busy at that time (Thursday evening). The waiters were friendly and they had an English menu. Drinks menu had a lot of variation just like the food menu. I ordered the classic schnitzel and it came together with a very delicious potato salad. Portion is quite big! My friends ordered the Schnitzel burger and it was super rich in taste. The smoked BBQ rib was very fragnant and pleasing my taste buds! They have apricot soda and it is not usual to spot it on the menu in Austria I think. However, when we got the bill the waiter asked us to give tips and we were a bit awkward with that so he said people usually give 5-10% of the bill. Hence, the minus 1 star of this review. Also, the waiter looked very disappointed when we tipped him 5% of our bill….to us, we did not get much service so we did not think of giving a lot of tips.

Good service (even on closing time), nice schnitzel. Prices were normal -bit expensive (€25 per person for a meal and a drink). Give a try to their lugeck beer. Especially thank you Marijo, your service was the best 👌🏼

The fried chicken was tender and crisp, but I would like it more if it have been seasoning. Cause it became very lame at the end. Furthermore it's the first restaurant which couldn't let us go Dutch. 😟

Good place for those seeking good quality comfort food and family-friendly location. The service we got was prompt. The only glitch was our waiter ended his shift before we finished eating and they forgot to tell us, so we were sitting for a spell before we inquired and could get our bill paid, but that was a fluke, I think.

  • 3/5 Juan C. 2 years ago on Google
Good food, poor service. We almost left when the not very friendly host basically let us know that the table we did not like was our only option, although the other options were empty during our whole meal. The food was nice, which almost made up for the bad service, but not quite.

  • 5/5 Berenika W. 2 years ago on Google
Good food and friendly stuff. You have to wait a bit to enter (approx. 10 minutes for us) but still better than other restaurants from this “chain”. The decor is very modern which might be disappointing for someone looking for a traditional Viennese experience

After visiting Fglmuller the night before, it was time to visit Lugeck last Saturday and try the Tafelspitz. The setup took the entire table. I looked puzzled for a few minutes and was rescued by Johnny who served and explain how it should be eaten. It was so tasty and a great meal to have especially with the cooler weather. It was an experience I will not forget. Thank you Johnny for the great service.

I want to say a big Thank you to the Lugeck's staff, he had a booking and we were 30 minutes late, and they still found a table for us. The food was great, the waiter Marijo was kind and polite, super patient with us because we kept asking him things about the menu. The food was served very fast as well. The location is great, very close to lots of touristic places. I highly recommend

Amazing Schnitzel! This place belongs to the Figlmüller family, but they don't serve the famous Figlmüller Schnitzel. Therefore they have an incredibly good Viennese Schnitzel (which is the actual original recepy). Either at Figlmüller or here, you'll be very satisfied and I HIGHLY recommended them both to anyone who wants to have a good Schnitzel 😊

  • 5/5 charlie just c. 2 years ago on Google
the Figlmüller family is a bit of a legacy in Vienna's restaurant business and Lugeck seems to be a newer location of theirs that tries to be a little more modern than the traditional Austrian cuisine- and they're definitely succeeding. the prices are okay, the meals are delicious, they offer meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as a children's menu, desserts and great wines (the beer seems pricey though?). their staff is very friendly too, the atmosphere laid-back, the location right in the city center and the interior tasteful yet not over the top.

  • 5/5 Maricha M. 1 year ago on Google
Ideally located in the touristic heart of Vienna, this restaurant offers a diversity of Austrian recipes. The inside turned out to be bigger than I expected, and while at first the waiters were a bit grumpy, they clarified all our doubts without any complaints. The food was delicious, and so was the ambient. Note that this place appears to be popular, so you can easily find out that it is full and maybe even have to wait for a table. It is not cheap, yet I would certainly go back and recommend it!

When I was in Vienna for work, the host took us here to experience the local cuisine like Wiener Schnitzel. They offer a wide range of dishes and drinks. Apparently this is the place to eat the famous schnitzel. The location is right in the city centre of Vienna and approx 5-10min walk from the main cathedral. It gets packet really fast and it's always packed. You might be lucky if you don't have a reservation but would recommend to have one. The portion of the food is big and you really get full, I would suggest to avoid the delicious bread that compliments the home made butter. Cus that will full you up real quickly. The serving and food that got served was as fast as the churning of people arriving and departing. If you were struggling eating your main, from experience and trust me don't force yourself on having dessert. I guess we were lucky in having a local who did the ordering so I would say the service was good. The staff was friendly even though they were running literally all over the places.

Dined here in Aug 2022 We had a late 9:30pm reservation and in spite of ordering quite a few items, the service was quite fast without any compromise in cooking quality. The food was quite delicious and the waitress was kind enough to to help with wine recommendations. The schnitzel and steak were good and would definitely recommend those 2 dishes. Location is quite convenient and within short walking distance to public transport

  • 5/5 Bachar F. 1 year ago on Google
Waited in the line around 30 mins. But it was totally worth it. During my trip, I have never had a better food. The schnitzel was so tasty and the minced veal meat was beyond tasty. The potato salad is one of a kind. I tried in in different places but that one is another level... The staff were friendly and the place, in general, is fancy. A bit expensive but worth it.

I don't know from where to start. It was one of an experience! I would repeat it 100 times!!! Placed inside a luxury palace with an amazing atmosphere and cozy/classy interior. Kind stuff who are english fluent. The Food was EXTRAORDINARY!!! From the beer to the fries to the potato salad reaching the main dishes that are all high quality!! Would surely recommend it!!! Expensive but it was hell of an experience in the heart of VIENNA

Compare to 2 Figmüler restaurant, i think here is the best. But frankly the taste of Wiener Schnitzel, the oldest restaurant “Griechenbeisl” is better. I am not talking here is bad. One of the best Austrian restaurant in Wien. I strongly recommend Tafelspitz!!!!!!! Beer, sour dough bread and butter are also nice. Crews were very kind, speedy and supportive!

  • 5/5 Georgi G. 1 year ago on Google
A very nice restaurant in the heart of Vienna city centre, just a few hundred meters from the cathedral. It offers a lot of traditional Austrian meals like the Wiener Schnitzel, which is wonderful. The beef steak is also very well-prepared. The servings are relatively generous and the prices reflect the combination of perfect food and the superb location.

  • 5/5 Carlyn M. 1 year ago on Google
Delicious tafelspitz if you want to try traditional Viennese food. Try their sodas, fizzy, fruit-based ones that somehow feel healthier. 😅I forgot my purse and our waiter was so helpful in helping me find it. In photos is the schnitzel burger.

  • 5/5 Anca S. 1 year ago on Google
I really really wanted to try the potato salad. A friend of mine ate at Figmuller and he was going on and on about how good it was, and it is quite good. I also had the calf’s liver which was also very delicious. I really wanted to go to the original restaurant, but reservations have to be made in advance at least a week, and I was not lucky to find a seat without one, so I decided to try Lugeck. This restaurant is slightly more expensive than Figmuller and also they have a slightly different take on the menu. To me to food was great, but the potato salad is around 8€, and I’m not sure if it is worth it. If you really want the “Figmuller experience” try and book at the original place.
