One of the best lunch deals in the first district, a 3 course menu for about 11 EUR is truly unbeatable. On top of that the food was delicious. Exceeded my expectations. Thank you! Cards accepted.

Not bad, came to this place since another famous local restaurant was full. The staff was kind, the food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. The goulash meat was tough and a bit dry but the pork schnitzel was good. The beef soup tasted a bit like instant soup. The beer was cheap which is also a good point.

I went with my family to this restaurant which at first glance looks pretty good. The service was excellent, the guys attended to us quickly, with respect and kindness. The beers were pretty good. The atmosphere is good with good music. The only thing I don't recommend is ordering the ribs, they were pretty bad for the price and quality. fake ribs Better order hamburgers. not the best place to eat honestly. I wouldn't go order food again, only drinks, unless I'm drunk.

Very good typical Austrian food in a nice pub just 5 min away from the city center. Goulash and wrustels are worth it. Price is reasonable (try and ask for tap water in case you just want to hydrate yourself, it's free).

We had a great meal here in July. We had schnitzel and an apfelstrudel, both of which were delicious. The staff were lovely and very funny. They were also very tolerant of our terrible German! Would definitely recommend this place for tasty food and friendly service.

We managed to eat without a prior reservation, probably due to the time we arrived (around 1). I had a craving for sausages, so being a local restaurant, I didn't encounter any difficulties 😀

This restaurant has amazing service. The waiters are friendly, kind and helpful. Food was on the table in only a few minutes. However, food wasnt the best. We ordered pork schnitzel, ribs and hamburgers and they were okay, not bad, not extremely good. An upside is that the place is very nicely decorated. If you're not too picky about food, but like to eat in a very nice place and want extremely good and fast service, this is your place.

Tasted the schnitzel but it was quite disappointing. The meat was really dry and not flavourful enough. The potato salad (not sure that is how it is called) that came with it was not good either. I didn’t try the other food so I can only comment on the schnitzel. Beware of the construction work at the building too. I sat outside during lunch but there was renovation work going on for the building (I think for the exterior wall). It could be quite loud at times. Service was just satisfactory. The waiter takes your order and gives you the bill and didn’t even ask how the food was etc. Would not recommend this place.

If you are looking for a traditional Austrian restaurant (Wirtshaus) you will be pleasantly surprised. Food is good, though nothing special but great for the price (low prices for Vienna‘s 1st district!)

We initially went there for a rather basic and functional dinner after a long ride by bicycle, but after having a seat we were really surprised about this place. The location is very cool looking, we enjoyed very delicious beer, had great food and the staff is very friendly. This place is worth going :-)

The food is absolutely normal. I can't describe more, meat is meat , noodle is noodle, sauce and meal do not mix well. I keep adding salt and pepper LOL. The weather is good, beer is good as well. If either weather or beer went bad. It would be 1 star absolutely. By the way, I wait more than 40 minutes for my meal. Some customers came late and left earlier than me.

The steak was super tender, very surprising and the goulash was very spicy and tasty and the beef was tender too. A nice place in Vienna to eat and have a beer. The waiters were very friendly. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Beer was great. The only thing that kinda disappointed me was the fact that they serve mustard in a package instead of a regular sauce jar

We were in a rush and didnt expect much from this place but we were pleasantly surprised. The beef tartar was very good and the schnitsel seemed fresh and was very tasty! Also very fast service and the staff is polite.

The service was fast, the food was really good and within an affordable price range. Just like someone said here in a review, you can’t go wrong with a classic dish in a classic pub.

Food was really tasty and pretty inexpensive. Staff was really friendly. Getting a reservation beforehand is recommended to get your food by the time you arrive. Will definitely be coming back if I'm ever here again.

Second time we have visited here. Sat outside this time. Both had the Wiener Schnitzel. Perfectly good quality. Very quick service. Friendly waiter. Good beer :)

Outdoor seating in a calm area. This place has good prices on typical Vienna food. They also have one vegan dish which taste great and is well made. Service is fast. The salad with chicken was just that, chicken with lettuce and nothing more.

Solid 4 star rating! Good service and delicious food. We searched for a restaurant offering traditional Austrian cuisine. Bettelstudent is a fairly well-known Viennese institution ("Beisl"). Without a reservation we we were lucky to find a table for 9. The drink options are quite extensive both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages - the food options plentiful. There is a weekly menu as well as some seasonal dishes apart from their standard menu. We ordered various very un-Austrian hamburgers, which to some where the best they had eaten to date or in a long time (all 3 love burgers!). The remainder ordered Wie ner Schnitzel, Backhendl Salat (fries Syrian chicken with salad) or plain Backhendl (fried Syrian chicken). For dessert we indulged in 2 Kaiserschmarrn and a Griesflammerie with Blueberries. Frankly everything we ordered was top notch! The final bill surprised me positively as in a different restaurant we had paid substantially more. Definitely a place you should check out if you wish to try traditional Austrian cuisine on your own or in a large group. You can sit at tables or on high stools. All major credit cards accepted.

Excellent place. Fresh food, big portions. We arrived just in time for dinner and ordered famous Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad. We drank local student Bier. Excellent service and friendly stuff. Really nice ambient, with timber interior. Highly recommended. Reservations not needed. Don’t miss this place if you’re visiting Vienna. Fun fact: Big portions. We were in 5 people and 4 people shared two portions of Viennese schnitzel. And some still didn’t finish it as tomato salad got priority 😅😂.

Very bad experience. The waiter didn’t even listen what is ordered and was very annoyed to take our order. Menu had option to have chicken with mixed salad, indicated the option by finger on the menu. Waiter apparently marked only salad. We needed to ask where is the whole salad. When asked where’s the chicken he pretended, that don’t understand and told: “i don’t want to hear anything, you ordered mixed salad”,” i don’t understand you”. When asked to pay for a half of the order because of waiter behaviour he got angry, repeated that “i don’t understand what you are telling me”. Very bad and far far away from good customer experience place. Really don’t recommend to eat in. Dissapointed.

Der Bettelstudent has a nice vibe for coffee and just relax in a tiring day. We have tried Kaiserschmarrn there. 2 person loved it but other 2 saw nothing special 😅 So it's up to next guests to judge for themselves. They got a kind, friendly gentleman works there as waiter. Btw I will be waiting couple years like a treasure hunter for the coins under the floor outside 😀😀 That 2 euros was my investment 😉

We went there for a coffee. It wasn't busy, but it took them ages to take our order. Good prices for that location, cozy atmosphere.

I called for reservation and asked for a table. Although I emphasized that we want to sit upstairs, but they gave us a table upstairs at the worst place of the area, exactly in the middle. The waiter was rude and did the quality of the food was not something special.

It's a classic pub. If you expect high end anything you'll be disappointed. But service is fast, they have a decent selection of beer on tap. Food is decent. Liked the music. Very lively

Typical Austrian restaurant, where you could taste their national food. It's quite cozy and the personal is very friendly.

We wanted to drink and eat something really fast. The waiter told us we can sit here only for one hour - no problem. But during the whole hour nobody wanted to take our order. Never again!
