The service was great. The waiters were super friendly. Even though it’s not the cheapest place to dine, but the food was really good there too!

Good food, a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. We took a vegan burger which could have had a bit more flavour to it but the sweet potato fries were very good. Cozy terrace.

It’s quite a big restaurant and provides the option of sitting inside or outside, on sunny days sitting outside near the large green lawn is very pleasant especially as it doesn’t feel like you are located in the centre of the city. The presentation of the dishes is nice and they taste great too. The staff is pleasant, and relatively fast. Overall a great experience! Also if you are planning to go on the weekends for brunch I would definitely recommend reserving in advance.

The food tastes good, there are some interesting combinations, however, the options are limited. The place is very nice and fancy. The terrace looked great, but unfortunately was closed during our visit because of the rain. We will come again.

Actually this place is perfect for breakfast. The only thing i would not receive here is Croque Madame (too much bread in their version of this dish). But everything else that we have tasted in a menu was really good. And they have Matcha Latte as well, which is rare in Vienna.

Just plain bad is the best description We had normal expectations, but the result was disappointment on many levels. The room is beautiful, so at least they have that. The food was a let down. Service was timid and unskilled. Starters were good....beef tartar and parsley root soup. The main dishes of duck and salmon were inedible. We tried but left most on our plates. When asked how it was, I was honest and reasonable in my description of dry fish and tasteless duck. Dishes were cleared with a "sorry" A more senior server appeared, and I explained in detail the issues and disappointment. We were offered complimentary coffee and a possible explanation for the poor food ..."maybe the kitchen was stressed by the evenings large parties". I didn't expect a complimentary meal, but the servers response shows the policy turning tables and not quality of product or level of customer satisfaction. Vienna is full of good restaurants. This one should be avoided.

Traditional restaurant in Vienna. It has a beautiful interior design. Kind waitresses, fast service, fresh and quality food. The price is reasonable! It offers breakfast, lunch and dinner a la carte menus. The assortment for lunch could be more extended. Spring and summer time they open their terrace back in the garden. If you visit the MAK Museum (same building), I recommend to have a meal here. Street parking around is nearly impossible but there are parking garages around in walking distance and public transport is in the nearby.

Nice place to have brunch! Staff are friendly. I like having brunch with friends here. I also just come here alone sometimes. Food and drinks are good. The atmosphere is also nice. One of my favorite brunch places in Vienna!

I've known and been at the location (where the restaurant is now) for over 15 years at least. From when it was just a simple, rather neglected, but beautiful bar/cafe, to the time "Salonplafond" took over about six years ago (I think) and re-designed the place (aside from the ceiling - thank god), I always thought it was the place to go. Too bad I don't have old pictures of it. Google images of "Österreicher im MAK'. When it was taken over by some star chef (six-seven years ago) many people I knew (including me) were rather disappointed. An expensive, fancy restaurant at the Museum of Applied Arts. Didn't think much of it. Nevertheless, I must admit, the new design was absolutely brilliant. From the very first moment I saw it, I thought it was one of the most beautiful reastaurants I have ever seen (I am not exaggerating). The "Salon" is absolutely gorgeous and the garden exceptional. However, after trying some of their dishes, my conclusion was that It Looks Better Than It Tastes - much better. As a result, overpriced. About one week ago, since my visitors liked the place so much, I made a reservation and went there for dinner. To my surprise, for the first time, after at least 20 dining experiences (breakfast, lunch and dinner), the food was getting closer... Still below the location, but pretty damn close. The fact, that Mälzer (star chef) went away, I think, improved the dishes. It had to - they were not got at all. Since It is a bit overpriced, I usually recommend it (at least) for a drink. If on a budget I would still go there for a cup of coffee or a drink - before lunch or dinner time. Aside from a terrible pulled pork (some 5 years ago), their breakfasts never disappointed that much. In short, I think you should most definitely see the place, but not necessarily (always) eat there. if you can, go there for dinner at least once and tell me if "It Looks Better Than It Tastes" (still).

The place is ok if you wanna have a drink, but the food is really disappointing, especially given the price. I got salmon as a starter and there was some flavoured ice that came with it, which really didn’t bring anything to the dish (I even left it on the plate). Then I got the duck and God, it was really salty. The restaurant had kind of a loud music, and the light was also low, so it gave this impression of a bar, pretty far from what you would expect in a restaurant

The location is very good. You can enjoy the cafe indoors or outdoors, and children can run and play outdoors. Light meals are also available, and the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. If you are looking for a new cafe outside of the traditional cafes in Vienna, I recommend this place.

The food not only looked fantastic but also tasted great! A lot of vege options which is a huge plus! Only “-“ was the service - very slow and one from 2 waiters who took care of us, has a lot to learn and improve in his service quality.

Design of the restaurant was good. Staff was kind. The variety of the menu is inadequate. We ordered ravioli and beef burger, portion of the foods are okay. They taste good.

Found this place by accident and would highly recommend having breakfast/brunch at this lovely place. Very cute ambience & delicious food. Better to book in advance as place is pretty full even at the early morning. Tip for vegans: Greta’s vegan choice is superdelicious, if you are fond of hummus & braised eggplant.

Had my birthday brunch here with friends .. and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. This cozy reataurant is beautifully designed .. high ceilings with a cool vibrant design. Our host “Panayota” was the sweetest! She welcomed us warmly and helped us choose our dishes .. she even surprised me with a birthday dessert which was such a sweet geature! 🫶🏻 Food, location, decor and atmosphere 10/10 .. I will definitely be coming here again with more friends.

Had a table for 5. Very nice and professional staff, experienced as well when asking the one or the other detailed question. Clean and good decorated tables, as well as the entire restaurant is on top. Food was plenty and delicious. Coffee, somehow, wasn’t the greatest of all tastes a coffee can have, you should try a better machine if you can’t tune it anymore. I was positively surprised, especially after some not nice reviews seen before the visit. Our Greek native servant was a highlight when it comes to service, she is a diamond. Thank for all.

Excellent food, poor service. The food we ordered was very tasty, looked amazing and was reasonably priced. The same praise, however, does not extend to the service: while some tables were pampered and well taken care of, others such as ours had to "hunt" for a waiter. We had to ask twice for the bill, while seeing other tables being immediately able to pay to the very same waiter we had spoken to! Pretty disappointed, to say the least. I would say try at your on risk - you might be on the lucky side of service.

I have never eaten such an amazing eggs florentine and the coffee was divine! Plus the service was great and a lively impressive atmosphere. Five stars!

Menu not many choices but quite expensive. (30 euros for a chicken or a schnitzel for instance) Service was ok. Ambience is great, beautiful place . We went for a birthday, mentioned in the reservation, to the waiter, we saw other people receiving a candle to celebrate … and we.. nothing. It was nice, but won’t go again.

Lunch was great! Staff was very friendly - only minus would be that it is unbearably hot under those massive umbrellas outside and you’re apparently not allowed to eat and sit on those lounge / garden chairs

I've been there for both breakfast and lunch, the lunch is much better with lot of variety to choose from. Breakfast is on the other hand rather more limited but also great as well. All in all always had good experience with the staff and it has great environment as well.

Located adjacent to the "Museum für angewandte Kunst", this restaurant is a haven of beauty and serenity. Its garden provides a peaceful retreat, an ideal backdrop for a delightful culinary experience. The brunch menu is exceptional, boasting dishes like the perfectly poached egg Benedict, fluffy pancakes, and a flavorful vegetarian shakshuka. And for those with a sweet tooth, the cake is an absolute treat. What elevates the experience further is the attentive and super friendly staff.

Love the food, decor and environment at all times (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Not the cheapest in Vienna but worth the price if you appreciate other aspects apart from the food in your restaurant experience. I would recommend for fun group events.

Was a pleasant evening in a nice atmosphere. However, my beef was quite hard to chew to be honest … especially for the price, I think the food did not match expectations

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a charming brunch restaurant and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the stage for a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance was charming and cozy, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a leisurely brunch. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or on your own, you'll feel right at home in this inviting space.

I was there for breakfast. The food nothing special. The outraging point though was when my friends surprised me with a small bday cake bought from a pastry shop. The restaurant charged us extra 6.50e PER PERSON because we dare to bring a cake and not order something from their dessert list!!! I wont comment on waitresses attitude when they saw us tasting the cake!!! It was the first and my last time to visit this place!

The worst sparkling wine we have tried during our 12 days visit in Austria. 12.90€ for a very tasteless sparkling wine, money waste. It would only worth 4€, but not 12.90€ per glass

November 2022 Easily my favourite restaurant I visited while in Vienna. The ambiance was amazing the food was spectacular the staff were a 10/10. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Vienna. Great vegetarian options too. When I plan my next trip to Vienna I will definitely be going back.

Amazing vegan options! Best dessert I’ve ever had - chapeau to the kitchen. excellent service. Really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere during the evening. Not cheap but it’s worth it for special occasions.

I went both for brunch & dinner to Salonplafond - really good food. Staff could be better

  • 3/5 Myroessa M. 1 year ago on Google
Nicely designed, colorful and bright. Comes with a (noisy, when crowded, given that the tables are very close to each other) garden for the sunny/warmer days. Food is mediocre and prices, as anticipated, are of course on the higher end.

  • 5/5 Akira S. 1 year ago on Google
Dimly lit, stylish and elegant atmosphere and can host a large number of guests in one sitting. The bar space was cosy and intimate and the cocktails we had were good. They also seem to have a garden space 😊The service is friendly and swift and reasonably priced. A good place for a relaxed drink and I’d love to come back to eat.
