👍👍 Their sour dough bread is great and solid. Today the weather is nice and I have chance to enjoy their brunch. I ordered the vegan avocado with bread and green bean paste. It was really nice and the taste is seasoned and balanced. Simple but enjoyable meal for Friday. People often mention breakfast, coffee, good, bread, Vienna, service, great, nice, delicious, staff,

We stopped in Joseph Brot for and early breakfast because our hotel room wasn't ready, and it definitely worth it! My partner and I shared the salmon/trout spread with eggs and the French Toast. Both fresh and delicious, especially the smoked salmon. We relaxed here for about an hour enjoying our food and coffee.

We had found this place on Google maps, and there are photos from the owner where you can see tables and seating capacity. We had bought 4 drinks and 4 cakes and then we were told that we cannot sit inside - these tables are for the restaurant. With 2 small kids we were drinking coffee and hot chocolate outside where it was +5. It would be great to know in advance that the bakery with coffee is for take away only

This was my favourite place to eat at while in Vienna. I believe we visited 3-4 times in the time span of 5 days. The coffee is exceptionally good. The eggs Benedict were phenomenal and their bagel sandwich (not pictured) was absolutely delicious. This is a wonderful place to visit for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Highly recommend!

We had a very delicious breakfast here. One of the best omelets I’ve ever had - I really recommend the raclete omelet if you like cheese and truffles. Their bread is heaven. Also incredible apricot jam. Loved the raspberry kombucha. Very nice soap in the bathroom. Stylish interior, liked the huge windows. We were here on a Saturday morning and the place was full by 9am so it’s better to come early. Would definitely come back to try their pastries and sandwiches.

Everything was delicious! Their French toast and egg Benedict tasted amazing, so was their cinnamon roll! If I lived in Vienna, I’d come to this place everyday for breakfast. I wish we had it in Germany 🥹

Wow! What a hidden gem in Vienna! I've never tasted food like it! It's fresh, made on site, delicious, of outstanding quality and probably the best bakery I've ever been to. I highly recommend buying food from here.

A must dine in cafe when in Vienna. Don’t miss the opportunity to delight in the massive selection of bakery items. Well made and delicious. Amazing place. The ambience is fantastic. The service crew is excellent!!!! Friendly, polite, interactive and helpful. The secret is that this place serves the best Eggs Benedict in the city!!!!

We had breakfast there twice during our stay in Vienna. Both times it was incredible. The staff is super friendly as well. Highly recommend. The goods from the bakery were really good, the porridge was some of the best we ever had and the Marmelade tastes fantastic.

For take away - this is a great place. For seating, not so much. The service is slow and fails to be friendly. Several tables around us just left after waiting too long. The coffee (latte) was weak, the matcha latte was grainy.

Where do I even start. It’s such an exceptional spot. Our friends invited us for breakfast, and we immediately fell in love with it. As you enter, you’re instantly surrounded by a delicious smell of baked goods. Wooden tables and a minimalistic yet cozy design. Smiley staff that doesn’t rush you. A vegan option and gluten-free ones. A whole selection of breads, buns and cookies. Also, a separate fridge with homemade yogurts, milk, cheese and other goods. All in all, a must-visit. Super ambient place.

The smell of freshly baked bread draws you to this place instantly, especially sourdough. You can order sandwiches and snacks and there is a sitting area, where you can have table service. The staff and service is relaxed and atmosphere is wonderful.

Loved this place, really great location, pleasant staff and the comfortable window seats are ideal for people watching (the view was really good even though part of the street is closed off for construction). Half the place is a modern café, the other half is a bakery. I have to admit I was kind of sad that I already had a big breakfast at my hotel...

The bakery/bistro that produces bread and pastries that make you happy and crave for more. Go for the tasty breakfast menus such as the classic “Josephs Spread”. Make sure to have some of the tasty “Scheiterhaufen” snack! Really worth it. Ape strudel was average but could not stand out as the rest.

    • Last Visit • Sunday, October 2023 • Cost • €20~€30 per pax • RSVP • Walk-in • Details • One of the branches of Joseph Brot bistro. Open daily from morning to sunset. Baking fresh and organic dough plus pastries. Offering delicious breakfast and coffee. Outside of the bistro, it is their bakery which also sell other organic items. • Feedback • I know this will be a good place when it started to be busy at around 9am in a Sunday morning with queues waiting outside. I ordered a simple breakfast here and it is absolutely tasty and warming in a windy morning. I also like the bright interior of the place. Please also let me highlight the 🏆excellent service offered by the 2 young ladies that morning. They were so friendly and attentive. Made it a very comfortable place to stay and enjoy.

The breads are just gorgeous. The best in Vienna. I can say this because, without using that overused word "foodie", well, I guess, I am a foodie. And since I started living in Vienna, I have searched far and wide for good bread and have always gone back time and again to buy my daily 'brot' from this branch, because it is the closest to me. I have to preface what I'm about to say with this: that having been in charge of four successful cafes, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that polite, accommodating, and tactful customer service is king and key to continued success. To get to the point, three of the regular male staff at the bread/takeout coffee counter are rude and at one instant, made my sister (who was visiting from overseas) cry with comments they were making to her face (obviously they thought that she couldn't understand a word of German). I don't want to describe their physical appearance because it might indicate some sort of racial profiling and that's definitely what this is about. I know that if they were like that to myself and to some others, the truth will out sooner and later, and word will spread.

I wanted to go to this place for a long time now and I finally managed to go. It was worth the wait so to say. I think that I had the best eggs benedict in my whole life and the coffee was also super good. They have a section where you can buy pastry and another room where you can sit at a table and have breakfast ( if I remember correctly until 3pm), but they also have other dishes. I would totally recommend especially if you are in the area

Nice place for a coffee break or a breakfast. You can buy here baked goods and drinks to go or take a seat and enjoy the atmosphere of a busy modern coffee house in Vienna. BUT: The food is quite pricey. In the sitting area there are a lot of tables very close to each other which is not so comfortable regarding the crowds. So it's not the place were you could sit for hours. The service is average... although that's probably a Viennese thing.. ;)

Breads look incredible but if you want a slice, even at the cafe, or something a little different the answer, to me on a Sunday anyway, was 'no'. Also, not really clear from the quite expensive menu what you are going to get as far as the bread is concerned. If you are visiting the city and want to throw your luck into buying a half loaf or if you want a fancy cafe then fine but I came for the bread...and compared to other places, seems service is not so good...did not feel at all that they were interested in helping me... I ordered the omlette that came with potato bread...yeah, eggs and bread are somewhere under that lettuce in the pic below. Wife got the avocado toast so closer to what I was hoping for and she did give me a bite, but... Ok, it looks good enough but when you are dying for a slice of hearty sourdough bread (I told them first thing that I was there for the bread....it is a bakery, right?) with maybe a little butter in the land of awesome bread then you show up to this place and leave unsatisfied...

The coffee was simply cold 😅😅😅 you had one job to make us a hot morning coffee. The pastry i chose was not filled with anything. Just a huge amount of dough. The other one with cinnamon was good. In general, it was expensive and not that amazing experience. Won’t try it again.

Very hipster and very good. Right in the heart of Vienna, but won't break the bank Joseph Brot is a great brunch or lunch spot. In fact the brunch sounded so good that my companions opted for a second breakfast that day instead of ordering lunch! the only reason i give it 2 stars is because they actually sell you quality food. some people say "it was a little expansive" well that was probably a russian oligarch daughter. The prices are so incredibly outrageously high that i literally take it as an insult. you pay 4.20 for some whitebread with basic cheese. I was living in Amsterdam city center for 2 years now and i spend way too much money on food. But this takes it to another level. Please stop insulting people with your prices It's literally a joke and i can't take it seriously Don't give them your money, they are scammers
