Fantastic, old fashioned (in a positive sense) hotel with traditions in a great location. Service is as professional as you can imagine and very helpful with all your needs, and staying there is experience that is Viennese to the bone. Air conditioning works very well, and everything is very clean. Breakfast is fair and decent and includes all the essentials (also veggies!). Although it's not huge, fancy selection of bio-shop foodstuffs, and some egg dishes are paid extra, quality of what's there is high, and tea and coffee taste delicious too! Also they have a surprisingly good restaurant :) It's pleasing to find a hotel without all the fancy technology, where human factor is most important instead (service, quality, personal approach). Will come back!

An excellent hotel ideally situated for a visit to Vienna. Currently my last day here after a weeks stay and I can’t fault the hotel and the friendly and efficient staff. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean and have everything you will need. The reception staff are welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable of the city and all it has to offer. Restaurant staff make you welcome and their service is efficient and fuss free. Breakfasts are buffet style and there is an excellent range of foods and drinks on offer. Lot’s of history to the hotel with traditional Austrian features. I fully recommend the hotel to anybody wanting to explore this beautiful city and I hope one day to return. A great choice of hotel and thank you to a great hotel team, you made it a week I will always remember.

We stayed with two people in a double room. We arrived relatively early and were welcomed by nice staff. We were able to drop of our luggage and sign papers needed to check in so in the afternoon we only had to pick you our key. The rooms are sufficiently sized with a desk and lounge chair. The bed was really comfortable and big! Bathroom was pretty small but everything you needed was there and nice big towels. The breakfast was superb. Lots of choices (sweet/savory) and also vegetarian/vegan options!! Overall really great stay with nice staff and relatively late check out at 12:00 which is convenient.

The staff were amazing and lovely. Concierge staff recommended us some great restaurants to go to and where the best Christmas Markets are. Great location, easy to find and near the Uban (metro). Loved our stay!

Just loved this hotel. Perfect quality/price balance. Well equipped. There is an historical athmospgere of its own. Great breakfast.The location is also great, in between Wien Hauptbahnhof and the city centre.

I payed a significant amount and they provided me a small room. In the reservation it was written "large bed", but the bad was significantly small and definitely for one person. It was positioned next to the wall and my mother-75 years old had a very hard time getting in and out of bed. The room was very little. I would say that only the bathroom was proper. I read in the other reviews that some people argued with the staff. I wanted to do that when I realized that I got scammed but I did not have anymore the energy to do that. At the restaurant one of the waiters behaved so rude to us the first night we arrived and decided to go downstairs to eat, that I decided not to let any of (not even once!) my money there. He was extremely rude to us. Is it not my first and not my last trip Vienna, but definitely the worst stay I had ever had. When I checked out the person at the registration desk did not even say “thank you for staying here”, although I payed a lot of money for this stay and the provided services were not at all at the value of the payed amount. I am saying that considering that I stayed in many four starts hotels in Wien and I know what a quality 4stars service means. I had such a bad experience that now when I am going home I am left with such a bad taste of everything that happened.

Just back from an excellent 3 night stay. Location good as only 10/15 minutes from the centre and is very quiet.Room was nice and everything was very clean. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice with hot and cold options. Staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again.

Staying here on the imperial city's railway tour this is our second day staff very helpful ate with fellow travellers in restraint last night service a bit slow but we did arrive an hour late...breakfast buffet very generous hotel clean. Most important tools shower

I stayed here at the end of January. The stay was excellent. I had booked direct with the hotel and they were very efficient in handling the arrangements. There was a warm welcome at the front desk on arrival. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with an excellent range of cold items and some cooked items as well. Location is just outside centre, but convenient for tram and underground. Everyone I dealt with from the hotel was friendly and helpful. I thought it was very good value. I would definitely go back if I returned to Vienna.

We spent unforgettable days in this hotel. Everything was amazing. The standard room is very spacious and well decorated. The hotel has a great history and it shows in every detail. There is a small museum in the lobby of the hotel, which contains many historical items related to this place. The breakfast is very good and varied. The hotel has a very cozy restaurant where you can have a tasty dinner. The main sights can be reached on foot, enjoying the beauty of Vienna every second. I had a birthday while staying at the hotel, and after walking around the city, I found a small tasty compliment from the hotel in the room with wonderful wishes and a recipe of this compliment. Our stay in Vienna was like a fairy tale thanks to this hotel, we are very grateful for the hospitality

Comfortable rooms exceptionally friendly team, particularly Mercedes who kindly booked a restaurant for me before I arrived. Age of hotel does not lend itself for those with disabilities (steps to lifts, into hotel and down to the restaurant). However, easy access to most sights.

Could have been a much better experience. We stayed 4 nights. I booked the room in order to pay at the property instead of prepaying and ended up paying 250 euros more than our friends which pre-paid their stay. We also got a non renovated courtyard room which where the toilet was separate from the shower and sink and the beds were not as comfortable. We were actually paying more for less. I brought all these observations to the attention of the manager (Ricardo) and he very reluctantly changed our room to a renovated room after allot of arguing. The renovated rooms are much nicer with a complete bathroom and a newer and firmer beds. The breakfast is very good and the hotel has an interesting history. I travel allot and stay in many hotels and arguing is the last thing I want to do on my vacation. We did get the courtesy of 1 night free parking for 29 Euros.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Room spacious, cosy, classical. Nice selection of toiletries and other accessories. A lot of storage. Nice view from a window. Peacefully at night. The hotel relatively small so no queues to elevator, breakfast. Reception agents very professional and polite. Breakfast was very good. Staff serving the food was polite, asking if they can help. Food selection was ok, very good coffee. Everything clicked. They did a really good job.

My first experience of this hotel and I hope not the last. Its a lovely place and the staff in every decision clearly work well as a team. I have to offer special praise to the reception team as each and every one went beyond the call of duty in assisting me with my mobility scooter every day. Housekeeping team are one of the best I have come across and I had 20 years in hospitality. Breakfast, although not what I would choose, couldn't really be criticised. There was so much on offer it was incredible. I really hope I can return in better health some time soon.

Spent 4 nights here for New Year 2022/2023 with the family. Wow - what a super friendly place this is. Very welcoming, spotlessly clean and all round just great. Tram and underground stops are pretty much just outside too. Breakfast was very good every morning and staff attentive and friendly. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend accordingly. I loved staying in this hotel, staff was very friendly, warm and nice. They made us feel welcomed in every moment. Special shout out to the cleaning ladies. Room and bathrooms were also very clean. Location was perfect, everything is nearby. Overall, very pleasant stay. I would definitely come back.

This hotel is a gem which we have now used twice. All the staff are very professional, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are spotless and the decor is traditional but with all modern conveniences. The location is central with tram and metro services close by. Breakfast is varied and plentiful and the restaurant serves excellent traditional Austrian fare but you do need to book a table. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent hotel.

Our first stay in Vienna and so glad we chose this hotel to stay in. It is traditional in the best sense of the word: everything is exactly how it should be. The lobby area is small but charming and the hotel demonstrates pride in its history by showing off its early patronage. The breakfast room is a real highlight with oak paneling with art deco influences. The thing that makes the hotel really sing is the staff. Everything is geared up to the service of the customer, special mention to Barbara who looked after the breakfast sitting with the utmost diligence, politeness and attention. The rooms were serviced to the highest standard. We even got a letter from the hotel on arrival back in the UK thanking us for our stay. This hotel demonstrates a strong management culture. Great value for money.I can't recommend it more highly.

A nice hotel with amazing location close to Karlskiche (10-15 minutes to the Innere Stadt and Stephansplatz). The room was tidy, the personnel was very friendly. Breakfast was good, but not amazing: limited options. The room lacked a bathrobe and skincare/hair items (just plain shampoo: would be better if there were conditioner too). There is an option to leave your baggage after check out while spending time in the city before the departure.

This boutique hotel is friendly, clean and close to all attractions. The staff is great, the breakfast buffet is superb. We will be back soon as we loved our stay.

Truly one of the best hotel stays I have ever had! I traveled with a group of University students from the U.S. to Vienna for a study abroad trip and was nervous about how our group would be accommodated. Hotel Erzherzog Rainer went above and beyond for our group. They offered early check in for everyone so students could rest and change before the days activities. They quickly learned the names of everyone in our party and took care of our every need. The front desk staff were friendly and resourceful. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for group or individual travel.

This is our third stay in this hotel and we always get amazed how well trained and professional the staff is. For instance, we wanted to swap the room for the one we had stayed in last year and they had accommodated it upon our request with no further discussion. Also, we got our early check-in with no additional cost as this is our hotel of choice whenever in Vienna! Breakfast offer is plentiful as well. So happy to be your guests!

Excellent location within a km of the central area of Vienna. Fresh and hearty breakfast. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Stayed here with a tour group for 2 nites. A very nice place to stay and I would book this hotel again when we return!

Hotel in a great location with affordable prices, great breakfast as well as clean, quiet and tasteful rooms. The price for parking is a bit exaggerated but there are alternatives available close by. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and are happy to come back.

Rooms are comfortable and clean, and there is an attention to environmental issues. Location is superb, very central. I was there for work and also appreciated the relatively late check-out option.
