A
few
tips
for
visiting
the
Opera.
There
are
small
screens
in
front
of
your
seat
with
captions
in
multiple
languages:
German,
English,
Spanish,
French,
Italian,
Russian,
Japanese,
and
Chinese
(I
don't
know
if
it
was
Mandarin
or
Cantonese).
You
can
buy
standing
tickets
for
cheap
on
the
day
of
the
opera.
You
can
do
this
in
one
of
two
ways:
either
queue
up
about
2hrs
before
the
performance
or
buy
them
from
the
website
at
10am
sharp.
I'd
recommend
doing
it
online
so
that
you
don't
waste
precious
holiday
time
by
standing
in
line.
I
bought
standing
tickets
on
the
ground
floor
for
€18
and
the
view
was
amazing
(pictures
attached).
My
standing
ticket
had
a
reserved
place,
so
I
didn't
need
to
worry
about
arriving
early.
However
I'd
recommend
getting
there
at
least
half
an
hour
before,
possibly
more
if
you
would
like
to
wander
around.
You
need
to
check
in
your
coats.
You
can't
just
use
any
cloakroom
however
because
it
depends
on
your
ticket,
so
be
sure
to
have
your
ticket
ready
otherwise
the
cloakroom
staff
will
become
impatient.
The
lines
at
the
bar
can
be
very
long,
and
the
intervals
are
quite
short.
You
are
not
allowed
to
take
drinks
into
the
auditorium,
so
I
would
get
a
drink
before
the
show
instead.
