It is one of the most beautiful places in Vienna. Highly recommended for all tourists to visit this place. In my personal experience, I was many times inside and outside of Rathaus, and I loved it to be there and enjoyed my stay. Everything is just amazing and beautiful there.

A small part is covered for renovation and due to the festival hosted at thecfront. Vienna City Hall is the seat of the local government and a beautiful example of Neo-Gothic architecture, dating back to the late 1800s. Its richly adorned facade is modelled after the famous Brussels Town Hall. If you do not have time for one of the guided tours of the representative rooms, head down to Restaurant Rathauskeller instead. The restaurant consists of several ornately decorated Baroque rooms and is well worth a quick look. City Hall Square is home to one of Vienna’s biggest Christmas markets as well as a ginormous ice skating rink that even includes skating “paths” leading through a small park. Check out Vienna Ice World for more information. This period hosts the Film Festival 2022.

The Rathaus is located at Vienna's heart. It plays not only administrative role, but it is as well a conference building a tourists attraction due to the magnificent architecture. I recommend if you visit Vienna to join the tours that are organized in it. The guide was very helpful, detailed explanations were provided. Everything was great. You will learn interesting things for the building and the city. Of course the Christmas Market behind the building is magnificent because it is probably the biggest one in Vienna.

Constructed in 1872 in the Neo-Gothic style, Rathausplatz serves as the seat of local government housing the Mayor of Vienna’s office and city council chambers. This building was briefly the world’s tallest building (1892-94) and still exudes a magnificent presence. The building offers Monday, Wednesday, and Friday guided tours and also hosts various events on the grounds.

We had our dinner event in the city hall and it was the right choice in Vienna. The place is majestic, with red carpet overall and chandeliers decorating the high ceilings and a lot of history on the white walls. If you are ever invited to such any event in such a place, never say no.

Perfect place to visit, for anyone. This gothic cathedral was the first one I ever saw when traveling around the Europe, and so far it is the best one for my personal taste. Date taken: 17. Feb 2013.

Didn't get a chance to enter inside. It is for a guided tour only. In summer they have the film festival outside , if you like a film in the event with food , it might be a good option for you. P.S. this film festival is not like independent films more for documentaries.

Since Google maps doesn't allow me to rate the city itself I'll rate its center piece as a symbol of the same. I've come to Vienna to enjoy the city views, it's famous pastries and cakes, etc. But much of what I found was lacking. Most services and products are over priced, which has become far worse in the inflation of today, in terms of quality the famed baked goods are lacking, to say the least, and they are more or less the same everywhere you go, whether the cafe or pastry shop is a chain and franchise or they are not, it's really the same. With the exception of a few places here and there Vienna has become a tourist trap, where everything is expensive and most things are below expectations. I really don't recommend this city. Try Budapest or Wroclaw, or pretty much any other city in central Europe where tourism and local lack of standards has not ruined whatever was, if it ever was.

Vienna City Hall, Rathaus, is a grandeur of Neo-Gothic architecture, dominating the cityscape. Its intricate spires and arched windows exude timeless elegance. The Rathausplatz, a lively square, hosts vibrant events. Inside, opulent chambers echo with history. The Rathaus is Vienna's emblematic civic gem.

What a great Town Hall that has transformed into a place for PEOPLE and for EVERYONE. I am pleasantly impressed by the concept of a government building and its surrounding areas for the community. I haven’t quite seen an outdoor ice skating links in this scale, too. Everyone seems happy and is having a great time here. Well done, Vienna. Bravo!

City Hall, One of the Most Important Places in Vienna Come see the beautiful City Hall and all the wonderful surrounding areas City Hall (Rathaus) is the most important secular building in Vienna, Austria. The fantastic structure was designed and built from 1872 to 1883, and includes the famous 98-meter high tower, a renowned Vienna symbol, and over 1,500 rooms and 2,000 windows. Vienna’s City Hall is the official seat of the mayor and the meeting place of the city government. The building houses the Vienna City and Regional Library and the Vienna City and Regional Archive. Vienna’s City Hall is host to many important events throughout the year. Several balls, including the exciting and important Life Ball, take place there.

Simply stunning. I loved the architecture of this building and I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Vienna...there were beautiful red flowers all over the building adding a nice pop of color. In the summer there are outdoor movies and a nice feel to the beautiful city.

Was here when the New Year Silvester Gala 2023 was held. Extremely nice building inside and outside, and a must too see when you are visiting Vienna.

Incredibly beautiful place. Especially now, when the Christmas market is open in front of the Vienna Town Hall. I especially liked the fact that an open-air city skating rink was set up here. The cost is 10€, +9€ rent of skates, +3€ rent of a box for storing things. There is a 10% discount when buying tickets online. The rink is very interesting, it is arranged like streets, with ups and downs.

Rathaus is the city hall of Vienna. It's located in the heart of the city and definitely worth visiting especially in the holidays season when there is huge Christmas market and ice skating area in front. There are organized free tours of the building every hour (English audio guide available).

It is one of the most beautiful buildings that give its shape to the Ringstrasse, the main and majestic avenue of Vienna. The building itself makes an amazing impression from the outside - huge and decorative. I did not have the opportunity to be inside, but it is probably also interesting. In front of the building there is a great urban park - lawns where people lie on blankets, many benches, trees, a place for picnics and festivities, sometimes even an open-air cinema. Generally it's an interesting surroundings, usually full of cheerful, partying people.

However, anyone can sneak into the toilet from the auditorium because a door stop has been installed. Just like the park, the farmers didn't save on benches here. So you can always find a seat.
