compared to last year, care, terribly bad. not 5 *, the cleaning staff is perfect! but all employees are careless or not at all. the service in the restaurant is horrible and the room service is poor too, the food arrives in 1 hour, an iron did not arrive in 45 minutes. the maids are thorough and orderly. Compared to 2018, the standard is very poor. positive that the coronavirus test was given to the room. the girls in red dresses are nice. we did not give the dog any accommodation. fortunately we brought.

The Palais Hansen Kempinsky in Vienna is probably the finest hotel in which we've ever stayed. We were there overnight awaiting departure on our Ama Waterways cruise down the Danube. Our room was elegant, spacious, and well appointed. The lobby and restaurant decor were lovely. The breakfast offerings were great, The service was smooth and quick. The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. The concierge knew his city well. PHK is truly a great hotel!

Kempinski was one of the best hotels weā€™ve ever stayed in! The lobby is very beautiful with a nice lounge where you can grab food/dessert/afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was such an amazing experience, it was so much fun to try all the little bite size food on the tower! Not to mention the room, it was very spacious and clean, comfortable, and staffs were super attentive. Last but not least, the breakfast buffet was truly the highlight of every morning. With huge variety in options and made to order omelettes, it was one of the best breakfast Iā€™ve ever had. The different types of bread were all amazing, paired with nice butter and jam. Not to mention the coffee! If we ever visit Vienna again, we will definitely be coming back to Kempinski!

I was so looking forward to our stay in Kempinski, it was booked for my husbands special birthday. but it was to utter disappointment! Staff was rude and unhelpful. And the food was not upto standards I have been very disappointed with our stay here. Not sure how have people rated it good. Not at all worth the price tag I have stauwec in better 3 stars. Food was just below average. And not even a basic menu. Just so so disappointed

This hotel truly embodies beauty and luxury, providing a remarkable experience for its guests. The extravagant breakfast served here is a feast for the senses, leaving you indulged and satisfied. The pool, though not a traditional swimming pool but a hydro pool, is nonetheless a stunning feature, offering a serene and relaxing environment. The spacious rooms further enhance the comfort and grandeur of the hotel, providing a delightful stay. A highlight of this hotel is the renowned Michelin- starred restaurant, Edvard, where talented chefs craft exceptional dishes that elevate the dining experience to new heights. The staff, known for their kindness and proactive approach, go above and beyond to ensure guests' needs are met with utmost care and attention. Additionally, the lobby serves as a versatile space, allowing guests to hold meetings or simply enjoy a cup of coffee, even without staying in the hotel. One captivating attraction within the hotel is the upside-down chandelier, which has become a famous tourist spot. Its unique and visually striking design adds a touch of elegance and serves as a perfect backdrop for capturing memorable photos. Do not book at this hotel they have poor internal communication, when I checked out they said you did not pay for the breakfast and I already paid. They called the restaurant manager and gathered all the staff around me like I stole something from the hotel and they said we are not sure if you paid or not we will block your card with the amount and itā€™s not much only 45 euros!! I refused to have the amount blocked from my card, why should I pay twice because they have poor communication between the reception and the hotel restaurant? And they took them 45 minutes to find out that I paid and I was late for my flight and they didnā€™t even apologize for what they put me through they said ā€œYOU CAN GOā€ ?? They are very racist. Also When I wrote this review in Booking, they replied to my review making it look I was a liar who did not pay my breakfast bill on the spot by cash. Do not trust this hotel, if you pay with cash and have no evidence or receipt of the payment, they will accuse you of not paying and will try to block amounts from your cards which is not their right to do so. They do not bother to check their own records and instead stress out the guest with an attitude that makes it look like its the guest's fault + my sisterā€™s room bathroom shower head fell down suddenly itā€™s not safe at all thanks good my sister and her daughter were outside the bathroom.

Our booked room for three adults had a bed for camping. We accepted the upgrade for additional Euro 400.00 per day and we accepted. Very elegant spacious area with separate bedroom and extra toilet but again the same camping bed for our daugther 42 years old!!!??? We had a reservation of Gala dinner but during the dinner our daughter became very ill and did not consume her dinner ( she had just a soup) at cashier we explained what has happened but we were requested to pay full price!?

Amazing hotel in the heart of Vienna. The location is perfect, 15 minute walk to St. Stephen's Cathedral and other attractions. The rooms are modern and spacious. The breakfast is delicious with great variety. The spa area is accessible to all hotel guests (pool and sauna)

All props to the kitchen staff and the chef because this hotel has some of the best dishes Iā€™ve ever tasted. The hotel is absolutely magical, expresses the real soul of Vienna.

Stayed here a couple of times when my own place was getting renovations. Overall itā€™s a great hotel, the rooms are big, well equipped gym, nice spa/wellness area and the lobby bar is never that busy so easy to go for a drink.

  • 3/5 Matthias R. 1 year ago on Google
If you go there for the ā€œcigar loungeā€ be advised that they are not allowing any drinks in there, which is totally in line with the Austrian legislation, but should nevertheless be clearly stated on the website so that patrons are not making the trip only to be disappointed.

One of the worst hotel experiences ive ever had - DONT GO. Its not worth the price / fame. It takes forever to pick up any hotline service (internal contact for room service, reception, etc) and the people here seemed unprofessional in general. We were stuck in the elevateor when we were in a hurry for the flight back home on the check out day.. we used emergency button in the elevator, they still never answered that made us we carry heavy luggages all the way down using staircase. No apology for inconvenience and delay, and my imperssion is that they seemed to be more unfriendly to asians They were unbelievably unfriendly compared to other kempinski hotels we stayed in europe

The hotel is lovely and in a great location. The things you would expect of a 5 star hotel should be the norm. The difference I find is the attitude of the people and this can make your stay exceptional. So for example Leo the concierge is an extraordinary member of your team. Smiling, helpful, polite and genuinely cared that we were having a good time. By contrast you seem to have a high % of staff who are badly trained and seem to struggle to take and deliver a coffee order. We stayed with you from 22-27 December and I think twice we managed to get what we ordered (2x Americano coffees and hot milk). We stayed in a junior suite which was lovely thank you, on our last night we ordered too glasses of champagne via room service. The glasses arrived and they were tiny and there were no nuts or anything savoury. Had we ordered this in the bar we would have received a choice of 3 bags of savoury snacks. ā‚¬40 for two tiny glasses of champagne and when I think what we spent during our stay with you! Struck me as mean.

We visited in December 2023. The hotel has beautifully decorated for Christmas. The rooms were spacious and clean. The heated floors in the bathrooms and Ferrigamo soaps and shampoo were nice touches. It was a very short walk (15 minutes) to Hofburg and St Stephenā€™s cathedral.

Very nice property with large suites and beautiful lobby. No major complaints, but quite a few small ones that five star property shouldn't afford. It seems that all boil down to lack (or quality) of staff.

Overall I am very impressed, this is the very first hotel I have been to that the bar is included with the room, the lobby is just excellent and same with the rooms. Overall 5 stars

Perfect 10/10 on all aspects. Big comfortable rooms, best showers, convenient location, breakfast was luxurious, service was superb. Special mention to Concierge team Samy. He was fantastic. The location was brilliant. Trams & traibs stops a mere 2 minutes walk. Center of town was a 5 minute walk.

Amazing hotel! The lobby is a dream for the lover of architecture! The rooms are divine too! The suites welcome you with high ceilings and lots of space for you and your guests. Order the Apfelstrudel if you have an opportunity and fall in love with the beauty and dream of Wien! Wien really is the city of dreams and staying here is worth it!

This is our third time in Vienna. The past two times, we stays at the InterContinental and the Ritz. On our last trip, we stayed at Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna and we were blown away by the hotelā€™s meticulous attention to detail and excellent service. The room was clean and comfortable, and we were impressed by the attention to everything to make our stay complete. Best shower we've ever had. The pool, spa, and sauna were also great amenities that made our stay even more enjoyable. We felt safe during our stay there and the location was perfect for exploring the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable experience.

Only been to the bar but service was a desaster. I had to wait for an hour to order. Then 30 mins to get served and another 20 to pay. Deco is glamorous but a hotchpotch of objects without style or coherency. Feels more like an investment than a Hotel that cares about its guests. Lots of Russian guests.

My partner and I stayed at Kempinski for 6 nights from Sep 16 through 22. We booked through Amex FHR and were upgraded to a beautiful Hansen suite. Nice welcome gift of wine was already placed in our room. The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious. All the staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast had variety and all the food was tasty. Look forward to staying here again when we return to Vienna. Highly recommend this hotel!

Itā€™s always wonderful to be in Wein, itā€™s my 3rd time in Austria and this time I stayed in Palais Hansen Kempinski, it was a fabulous experience. I selected this hotel because of its location being few steps away from the metro station which connects you to all parts of the city and beyond. My check-in experience was great, the lady who checked me in was very helpful along with the concierge guys too. Towards the end of my stay I had to get my PCR test done, although the hotel provided me with a kit to get it done in my room, I preferred to do it the normal way, the people working at the reception guided me and helped me getting it done on time with no extra effort. I was assigned to room 278 and it was a very nice room, quite specious the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was really nice with rain shower. During my stay I also had delicious breakfast at the lobby resturant an open buffet with great variety of breakfast items. The SPA facility was nice too, I couldnā€™t get any treatment done due to its odd timing but had the pleasure of the sauna which was amazing. One of my friends visited my and I met him in the lovely and specious lobby area and the people working there were very hospitable, we both enjoyed the gathering. Finally my check-out experience was as good as my check-in experience even better and super quick. Keep up the great work guys, this hotel is going to be my favourite place to stay whenever Iā€™m in Vienna and I shall certainly recommend it to my network šŸ˜ƒ

The Hotel Kempinski in Vienna, situated in the heart of the city centre, offers a unique experience. The rooms are really convenient and the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is modern and a wide selection of soaps (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion) was given to us. Moreover, the service in the whole hotel was nothing less than perfect! Everyone was smiling, helpful and really comprehensive. If you have any questions, the staff will always answer with great pleasure ! I recommend 100% this hotel !

+ Š’eautiful building, central position. Room was quite big and very light. The service was very nice and friendly! - The hotel definitely needs to be updated. The finishes of the room are old and old fashioned. The phone in mу room didn't work, told that to the staff but nothing changed, so had to call from my cellular or use the phone in the toilet (wich was sooŠ¾ old). The pad for digital menu and all information, was so slow, and turned off by itself all the time. So very useless. Ordered couple of times room service.. asked breakfast (coffee and croissants) they brought exactly coffee and croissant. Nothing more, no butter, no jam, no little flower.. same for the dinner. Especially the plate called roll with shrimp (that's the thing to see) 26 euro for the рeace of bread filled with Mayo and shrimp.. did not expect that in 5 Star hotel. The spa is nice but feels like I went back to the beginning of the 00. Definitely not worth the money I spent there.

We had Afternoon Tea at the end of December. The foyer was nevertheless pleasantly empty and not crowded. The tea service was outstanding. There were plenty of sandwiches and a range of different cakes and tarts and many wonderful little pastry delicacies. In addition, 5 different kinds of tea or hot drinks were served, which could be reordered at any time. It was simply wonderful.

The location is very good for a weekend trip to Vienna, and we had a lovely time spending Christmas in the city, but the stay at Palais Hansen was underwhelming. The first room we were provided came with a broken shower, the room that was suggested as to resolve the issue was a downgrade from our room, and the third room we were provided had a working shower, but a broken rain shower. Because there was no alternative and it could not be fixed we opted to stay in the last option. We unfortunately never received an apology for this inconvenience. With regards to cleanliness, the rooms were not properly clean when we arrived and also during our stay the cleaners did not clean properly, leaving us with cleaning parts of the room ourselves. The minibar is included in the room rates, but not restocked, so after the first night you are out of water bottles. Although the outside of the hotel is absolutely beautiful, the inside is dated and looks like the love child of Buckingham palace and the Las Vegas Bellagio. Especially the shopping mall feeling you get when resting in the lobby is disappointing. The service from the staff in the lobby was wonderful, hence the 2 star rating, but the people at the reception desk and some of the door men was appalling and sometimes downright rude.

This hotel is a must. We were given the best welcome. Staff very caring and smiling, spotless clean, large & modern room and bathroom tastefully decorated, quiet, high quality & rich breakfast, dinner at Edvard's restaurant was a sublime experience, top class lobby, very central location, trams and metros 2 min. on foot. Thank you for having made our stay in Vienna so wonderful ! We look forward to coming back !

I travel a lot and I have never been to a 5 star hotel, this has been a fantastic experience and I can now see clearly the difference between competence to excellence. It was the attention to detail that has made my stay here wonderful. I will now measure all stays in a hotel agsinst this one. Breakfast was my highlight and in particular Diane was very attentive and encouraged the 5 star experience. II will definitely be back and my advice would be to enjoy the hotel facilities as much as possible alongside the everything Vienna has to offer

Everyone was very helpful and courteous. Breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay. There were many special touches that made you feel special. The only thing I would note is that our tablet in room only worked on the charger and everything is through there which was a minor inconvenience, but honestly I am just nitpicking.

The room was clean and nice. Other than that, we had many problems. For example, they do not open a restaurant for lunch and dinner. We ate our meals in a section such as the cafe in the lobby, and we ate bent and uncomfortably, since the size of the tables was not high. and our food orders came late every time.Mr. Leo, one of the bellboys of the hotel, was very kind, he was very respectful, thank you But your female and male staff who work at breakfast time in the restaurant are a bit rude. I don't know their names, but we have pictures of them. I think they came there to gossip and laugh rather than work. They are very disrespectful, we complain about them.In short, the hotel is far behind its name. It needs to be developed a lot.

I didnā€™t stay at the hotel but I enjoyed the cigar lounge. Sad to see that customers cannot even drink a coffee in the lounge! Iā€™m also disappointed to experience the unprofessionalism at the reception. I just kindly requested the receptionists to borrow me an iPhone charger for 15 mins! They told me that only one charger is available and theyā€™re ready to charge my phone in the reception. Despite indicating that I need the charger (to make an important phone call) immediately, they didnā€™t help me. Then, one receptionist told me that he could help me if I can be back in 15 mins to charge my phone because another customer was charging his/her phone. 15 mins later, when I was at the reception again, another receptionist said that I must wait because the charger isnā€™t available. They should have understood that I was in an urgent situation. Sorry to experience that.
