Went for dessert. The restaurant was charming and everything was reasonably priced. We got a table on the second floor and the dining room was beautiful. The first floor had tables around the dessert counter/bar and didn't look anything like the 2nd floor. So if you have a choice wait to be seated upstairs. We had the chocolate torte and apple strudel. None of us cared much for the chocolate torte, I'm not a chocolate lover, but I've had better chocolate cake for my preference. The apple strudel was fresh and enjoyable. Our drinks were good. Nothing blew me away but I would recommend stopping by for an overall nice dessert experience.

The taste is good, I honestly expected it to be better. You have to wait in line minimum 30min. The interior decor is awesome, three cakes with two water is 50 euro.

Tasted the most talked about cake in Vienna, the Sacher torte, but to be honest it is nothing special. A little bit on the dry side, and Iā€™ve had far better chocolate cakes. Itā€™s one of the most overrated dessert and the waiters are a bit tiresome, not really friendly until i tipped them 50% -.-

We did not stay at the hotel. We enjoyed the famous Sacher Torte! The cake was amazing. We waited in line to get a table for about 15 minutes. It's totally worth it. When I visit Vienna next time, I will go back for another piece of famous cake.

Sensational visit! The Hotel is beautiful, warm and welcoming. The attention to detail canā€™t be overstated and the staff are absolutely lovely. There are so many elements to love about Hotel Sacher. The building itself is awash with documented history for you to see and read about. The staff are readily on hand to assist with any need you may have. The Breakfast is an event in itself. Best of all, enjoy VIP entry into their adjoining cafes/restaurants, you need not wait in a queue on the street. I can not recommend this establishment enough, we will definitely stay again.

Sacher hotel, birthplace of the infamous Sacher torte, itā€™s something you cannot skip, basically if you do skip the experience, might as well not mention to any one that youā€™ve been in Vienna. The torte is sweet, chocolaty and dense, have it with hot chocolateā€¦ even better. I booked for a Chocolate spa session. The service was amazing, the spa package was well thought out. I was relaxed for the day and to make it even more enticing, I smelled like chocolate all day. Loved it would definitely go for the full experience next time.

I visited there over a decade ago and I remember how I impressed we were with everything. Fast forward to today, when I received a special delivery all the way from Austria to Canada of their most famous Sachertorte. I nearly cried as I opened the box. It arrived promptly, perfectly boxed, beautifully wrapped and still fresh. A little slice of heaven. Now I need to plan to go back there again!

We had an absolutely spectacular stay at the Vienna Sacher Hotel. We got upgraded to a suite which was dazzling in its beautiful appointments and spaciousness. The service was fantastic - with every single person appearing warm, friendly and caring. The restaurant and cafe was outstanding as well and compared favorably to other Michelin dining establishments we visited while on the trip. I could provide a long list of little details that blew us away, but then I'd be giving away this hotel's secrets to their competitors :-). You have to stay here to understand how different it is from other, chain owned 5 star hotels - there is a secret sauce at play here and you will only understand when you actually stay here. Cannot wait to return.

The sachet torte is just an average chocolate cake but costs nearly 10 euros. Ok so it's famous. However, what is unforgivable is that the earl grey tea I ordered was tepid. I could put my finger in the teapot without harm. That should not be possible normally. So, a cafe that can't make a decent hot drink. Not good.

We were in the coffee shop where they offer the most famous "Sacher" cake according to an original recipe. I recommend everyone to visit it. The atmosphere is impressive. It's like you've gone back in time with a time machine. A unique place in the center of Vienna. The service is at a very high level. On the first floor there is a shop where you can buy a cake as a gift. I recommend!!!

What a wonderful hotel.. It simply is amazingly good. Great location .The breakfast is superb, great coffee and a wide range of offerings. The concierge staff were so helpful with reservations and advice . The breakfast staff were attentive. The staff in the blue bar were always there to help you relax with a lovely champagne or whisky. The owners ( whom we met ) are an absolute delight and so welcoming. If I could give it SIX stars I would.

Great ambience, but we just couldnā€™t believe why people from all over the world to wait in line for the Sacher torte cake. It was mediocre to say the least. The gingerbread hot chocolate was good, but not worth the price. The sausages were basically long Oscar Meyer hot dogs served on a nice plate- also donā€™t recommend. When we asked for the check, the lady who I believe was a hostess said ā€œthatā€™s not my jobā€ and did not help us out at all. We were overall pretty disappointed with the experience here, but did enjoy the Christmas decorations!

Absolutely stellar everything! The service, rooms, hospitality, and amenities were top notch. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in the door. The staff went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. They even got us right into the cafe when we wanted to try the famous Sacher torte. The rooms was very comfortable with thoughtful accents and amenities. It was extremely quiet at night. Overall, one of the nicest, most high-end places Iā€™ve ever stayed. We will be back!

The Sacher Hotel is one of the most beautiful, modern, and guest-friendly hotels with excellent staff. The food is of a high standard, and I am always impressed by the special smell in the hotel, which makes me buy their scented candles to take some of the feelings home. The location of the hotel is also excellent, as you can visit many attractions on foot. I love history and cuisine, and the Sacher Hotel offers both.

The ambience is impeccable. There is a long queue to enter the cafe if you don't have a prior reservation . Though they make sure that you don't have to wait more than 15min for a table. The coffee is good. The chocolate torte cake is their speciality but I found it to be too sweet to my liking. The service is good and the staff is very professional.

It was good and I also liked that famous cake. It is so delicious definitely recommend. While paying the bill, the middle-aged lady worker asked "would you like to give tip for the staff" I didn't know what to say. I think it's wrong to ask like that.

Hotel Sacher is a wonderful place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Every member of staff greets you even if you only pass in the corridor. The housekeeping staff are very meticulous. The serving staff at breakfast are quick, efficient and very friendly. The room service menu is extensive, our trolley was taken out onto our balcony for us to enjoy a meal in a magnificent roof top setting. I am so pleased we decided to stay here, it is a very friendly hotel with super efficient staff. Plus everything is in walking distance so you can pop back to your room to cool down and rest at any time. The wrap around balcony on the suite is equipped with loungers, table and chairs with a wonderful view across the old town.

What's the buzz with the Sacher-Torte cake??? Dry, and normal taste of chocolate cake, and way over-priced. Had a similar chocolate cake at a nearby small cafe, tastes similar (maybe a bit better), but qlmost half the price and didn't have to queue up 30ms to get a seat! Go elsewhere and enjoy a proper chocolate cake....

This hotel is a dream, real luxury next to the opera house. It's beautifully decorated for the festive season, all the services are high class, rooms are spacious, bathube is huge and we received more gifts like cake, chocolate etc. into our room than anywhere else. I had just one problem. Unfortunately the windows are poorly insulated and the cold came in.

My dream come true. Always wanted to try the original Sacher torte in Vienna. Did not have reservation, just walked past the Salon Sacher and asked for a table outside. Got it! First rate service (and prices). Can recommend the Original Sacher Hot Chocolate and Maria Theresa Coffee with orange liqueur to accompany the Original Sacher Torte with whipped cream. Credit card accepted , beautiful restrooms.

We went to Hotel Sacher for their infamous Sacher Torte. Very happy with the Torte and coffee. A tip for getting a table for desserts quickly - instead of going to the Cafe, we went to the Salon instead - a more pared back version. However, if you wanted the full grand experience with the chandeliers and the full decor the Cafe is the way to go. Otherwise the Salon is great for skipping the line.

Outstanding hotel all around. The staff made our stay in Vienna feel magical and surreal. I recommend, everything, about this hotel without any reservations

We had a beautiful stay at the Hotel Sacher. We were extremely satisfied with the room and the service. One of our favorite parts of the stay was the wonderful buffet breakfast which was included when booked through Amex.

Very elegant hotel done in the old style. This is where Austrian celebrities would stay when they are in town. Elegantly decorated rooms. Highlight was breakfast, which is done in a high end way, similar to a 5 star Parisian hotel. They give you their famous Sacher Torte, so no need to stand in the long lines at the hotel to get one.

I had dinner at the restaurant with my boyfriend of nine years for our anniversary. They graciously gave us a nice table and after an excellent meal my boyfriend proposed to me! They help him set up a private space with roses, chocolates and champagne. The wait staff were so nice and congratulated me. They also held my flowers until I could pick them up later in the evening after a concert.

Booked a table at the Restaurant Grune Bar, absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The service was impeccable, friendly not "stuffy", and the food was exquisite. Will definitely return when next in Vienna.

Fabulous...from arrival to departure, everything was first class! I made this reservation through LHW, and their recommendation was spot on! The front desk staff/concierge service was friendly, helpful and efficient. Our Suite was beyond beautiful, with a personalized welcome note accompanied with fruit, chocolate, water, and a gorgeous bouquet of white roses! I loved the little Cafe Sacher on the main level, and appreciated we didn't have to wait in line to get a table, as hotel guests. Decorated for Christmas, with it's Gingerbread city to all the other decorations was the highlight of our trip. I can highly recommend this outstanding hotel, and would love to return, especially during the Christmas season. Really, I didn't want to leave!

The rating and comment is for the kaffe only which is situated at the ground floor: Sacher tart has become very expensive but it still tastes wonderful. They have a difficulty to accept debit/credit cards since they prefer cash. This is not in line with the image and the glamour of the kaffe.

Superb across the board! The attention to detail and service is just really exquisite. This institution is a masterclass on Viennese nobility, elegance, and grace. I must also say that Alexander at the breakfast was delightful and stands out among the already wonderful staff.

Had my wedding here inā€™92. Didnā€™t appreciate it until now. Hotel Sacher claims that the cake was invented in 1832 when Prince Metternich of Austria requested a special cake at a time when the chef was ill, so 16-year-old apprentice Franz Sacher filled in and created the Sachertorte (which the hotel has trademarked as the "Original Sacher-Torte," and that particular spelling), a spokesperson explained to Insider.

The Grande Dame of Viennese hotels is alive and well! Service immaculate, breakfast buffet was sumptuous and they were gracious enough to move us to another room due to some drilling outside our original room. We felt incredibly special during our stay and it contributed to a magical experience of a wonderful few days in Vienna.

Staying here has been the best hotel experience Iā€™ve ever had. All the staff are so friendly and polite, and the rooms are truly opulent. The restaurants are also incredible.

I only went to the restaurant for the infamous sachertorte. I have to say it was a delicious dessert. It was the perfect bitesize, not too big nor too small. Aside from that they serve really good coffee. This place is a bit pricey but defenitly worth a try. It is one of Vienna's must do's in my opinion.

$700 a night can either get you a nice suite on one of the top floors or it can get you a room the size of a closet on the 1st floor. I stayed here two times, 6 days apart, in their deluxe room with a view. The first time we stayed here we were on one of the higher floors and had a nice room with a sofa, tub, and king bed. It was a beautiful room and we were looking forward to our return stay 6 days later. The room we got the 2nd time around was a complete disappointment. We were put on the 1st floor in a tiny room right across from the elevator with barely enough walking space for two people. It had no tub, no sofa, and the room was only made up for one guest even though there were two guests. When we opened the window curtains wood paneling on the wall randomly fell off and the hot water button on one part of the shower system was broken. Overall we are disappointed we didn't have a consistent experience at this hotel.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Everything was just impeccable; the service, the room comfort, the location. Everyone was very friendly. And lots of generous amenities, the breakfast was amazing. What truly set the place apart was how thoughtfully designed the room was. Beautiful marble, bronze scupltures, paintings, just very well decorated. And so comfortable. Great mattress, plenty of plugs everywhere, quiet. Loved everything about it, not a single complaint.

This was our first hotel to check-in in Vienna and we were blown away by the property and the service of all the staff. Special mention to Christopher. Went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.

Outstanding hotel! The best hotel weā€™ve ever stayed in. Fantastic location, wonderful facilities, great food and above all else superb staff. Would 100% recommend!

There are few hotels of this caliber in the world. The impeccable maintenance of the property along with the professional service is at the highest level equaling only a few other hotels anywhere in the world in this highest classic class. We had two adjoining rooms (suite and standard), and we could not have been happier. The Hotel Sacher will be appreciated by long-term, luxury hotel travelers who know how a premium classic hotel should operate and be maintained to attract the most world renown guests they continually attract.

A must stop location in Vienna. The Sachertorte is excellent and unsurprisingly better than other Konditorei we tried. Service was a bit slow but the staff were very good, it looked like they were understaffed when we were there (a Monday morning). Expensive, but what you'd probably expect. You should definitely book in advance since there was a queue when we arrived. Thankfully we had and so didn't have to wait.

We waited in line after 19.00 and thanks to the friendly staff we were able to enter just before closing time to have our cake. Sacher torte is good and loved the amaretto chocolate milk. Absolutely amazing inside. Worth to wait.

Booked a table in the blue bar. It's cozy (read small), but the staff are friendly enough. there's a good selection of cocktails, and they're happy to serve off menu. Nice to do once, but there are cheaper places around

We had such an amazing stay with my Mom. The staff is just incredible, special shout out to Lisa (Front Desk) and the young Belgian Wallon man working at the breakfast. The room was perfectly cleaned and the breakfast buffet, the lounge and the blue bar are just amazing!!! The location of the hotel is also perfect! Close to everything!

We came to this hotel/restaurant for the famous Sachertorte. A speciality of the house where it is famous for is this chocolate cake. There is a line of people who are waiting to get in. The line takes about half an hour to an hour. But it is worth the wait!

We tried The original Sacher-torte and it was delicious!! Plus, the place is luxurious and prices are fair !! Absolutely recommend, if you are visiting Vienna you cannot miss it!! Oh and Bathrooms are wow!!

For us definitely the best Sacher cake in Vienna. Every time we are in Vienna we are visiting. Waiting line is about half hour long, but definitely worth it. Ambient is amazing šŸ˜

I consider this the best hotel in Europe, The Sacher Hotel in Vienna is truly amazing in every aspect. From its elegant and luxurious interiors to its impeccable service, this hotel leaves no stone unturned in providing an exceptional experience. The location itself is superb, situated right in the heart of Vienna with easy access to major attractions and cultural landmarks. One cannot miss indulging in the famous Sacher Torte, a delectable Viennese chocolate cake, which is a specialty of the hotel. The dining experience is exceptional, with a range of culinary delights and an extensive wine selection. Overall, the Sacher Hotel in Vienna seamlessly blends elegance, charm, and top-notch service, making it an unforgettable destination for any traveler.

Hotel Sacher Wien was an amazing experience. It effortlessly and seamlessly combines the grandeur of a historical establishment with the generous and authentic people making the experience exceptional. However what truly made the experience impeccable was the the staff. The team at Hotel Sacher Wien consistently delivers a great level of attention to detail and genuine care for their guest. The food was great, the location cannot be beat and the concierge was good. I will definitely be back! Remy, the bartender was a favorite of mine during the trip and very personable. The bell-man, (I hate that I forgot his name) was great, personable, always with a smile and made the stay amazing. I highly recommend Hotel Sacher Wien, truly a Viennese historical establishment.
