The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The location is impossible to beat with tram and subway stops right outside. Very walkable to the heart of things. The breakfast is also incredible and is served in their Titanic inspired dining room. Try to get an Opera view room if you can - it's worth it!

A historic place to stay with imperial Vienna vibes. We had a suite with the Opera view, which we loved. Staff and service super kind, and a big plus that they are pet friendly. Breakfast was delicious, many things to choose from. The restaurant is gorgeous and worth visiting also for external guests, for coffee and cake. The location is super central, in the historic heart of Vienna.

The stay at Hotel Bristol in Vienna was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped into the grand lobby, the atmosphere exuded elegance and sophistication. The staff's warm welcome set the tone for a delightful experience. The room itself was a haven of comfort, adorned with tasteful decor and equipped with modern amenities. The attention to detail was evident, from the plush bedding to the thoughtfully arranged furnishings. The panoramic views of Vienna from my window were breathtaking, adding an extra layer of charm to the overall ambiance. What truly stood out, however, was the impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every need was met promptly and with a genuine smile. Whether seeking local recommendations or arranging transportation, their expertise and hospitality were commendable. The hotel's central location made it a convenient base for exploring Vienna's cultural treasures. Additionally, the on-site dining surpassed expectations, offering a delectable array of both local and international cuisines. In conclusion, Hotel Bristol is a paragon of luxury and hospitality in Vienna. It effortlessly combines opulence with a welcoming atmosphere, creating an unforgettable stay that exceeds even the highest expectations.

Had a nice stay at Hotel Bristol. There were a lot of things to enjoy about it, though next time we are in Vienna we will not return. That said, I'm sure the hotel would suit the needs for plenty. First, the positives: -As a tourist, the location is fantastic. Right across from the opera, above the transit system and with a tram out front, there is also a hop on/hop off bus across the street, and it's easy access to the downtown area, Hofburg Palace, Belvedere and other major attractions -Stately decor and historic -The breakfast was fantastic with a great selection of meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables and juices. The negatives: -The walls are paper thin - we had a very loud snorer on one side, and it seemed there was a family on the other, which meant near constant noise day and night. Surprisingly, but positively, there was almost no sound from the exterior -Room service food was bad enough that we decided we would not order it more than once, rather surprising based on the quality of their breakfast. -There were several severely sick people in the hotel making no effort to distance themselves of mitigate the spread of whatever they may have had. -Since this was the first stop on our honeymoon, I'd contacted the hotel via email, the chat application and via phone to see if I could have anything done to make our welcome special. The staff was shockingly dismissive and unhelpful. -Despite being a Marriott Titanium Elite member no mention was made of this either, nor was there any attempt to accommodate an upgrade despite requests made via multiple channels (and with them available), nor were we even able to get some firm pillows as requested. I was told there were no rooms available, but when searching online found that was not the case. Personally, I'd opt for the Ritz or another hotel upon return to Vienna.

The most beautiful room I’ve ever stayed in. Absolute luxury and exactly where you’d want to stay in Vienna. Comfortable, clean room with every amenity that you would need or want. Excellent maid service with turn down service (with Vienna chocolate!) The very best room service I’ve every had as well. The American breakfast is enough for two people and they were the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had… I still dream about them! The people are professional, polite and a joy to talk to. The restaurant served us an absolutely wonderful meal. This hotel is also in the middle of everything you want to do and see; easily walkable to the beauty that is Vienna. I can’t wait to go back ♥️

The hotel is in the most perfect spot for tourists visiting Vienna. it’s actually a walking distance from every single tourist sight, shopping area or museum. the staff were incredibly accommodating and actually gave us a very late checkout and didn’t charge a fee which is unheard of and we’re extremely nice. That was an amazing finish to wonderful stay in this classy, reasonably priced and beautiful hotel!

I’m a regular customer in the restaurant and I’m always surprised how extraordinary this place is. Staff is remembering every single detail and the food and drinks are just how you’d expect them to be. It is so far one of the best places to have food, drinks or tea/coffee. In winter you have an open fireplace in the middle which gives it a living room kind of flair and in summer the winter garden is very nice. Have never been disappointed and will continue spending my evenings there.

Extraordinary hotel. Luxurious. Classic. Like living in a wonderful museum. Great personal service. One of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever had. Excellent Bonvoy elite benefits. Highly recommended. If you have a pet allergy, I suggest letting them know in advance. They are very helpful.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Bristol Vienna. We booked a very viennese looking suite with the State Opera right in front of us, this view was incomparable! The staff members were exceptionally friendly and professional. We are looking forward coming back to the Bristol.

Perfect place-hotel to celebrate some round years. Staff was exceptional friendly and on the mood to serve customers. From junior suite you have a view to Opera. The only small minus was the water in shower. It was extremely hard to get right temperature.

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff, however, there was some construction going on around when we visited that made it not as pleasant. It also gets super* busy right outside the hotel and although there's easy access to the tram system, it makes it easy more busy. We would prefer to stay at a different hotel and then visit here for brunch or something surfing quieter moments of the day.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The Bristol has a perfect location in the heart of Vienna, on top of the Karlsplatz U-station. The ground floor & mezzanine floor areas/rooms are decorated in the art-deco style. The Bristol Suite was spacious and tastefully decorated. The living room/lounge is equipped with two sofas, a desk and chairs, while the bedroom is equipped with a large wardrobe and armchairs. The breakfast was very good, with a very satisfying amount of different options. All the staff members were polite and willing to help. My status was acknowledged and my late-checkout request was honoured without any issues. Overall, I’d gladly return to this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the luxury 5 star hotel over a Vienna getaway weekend for the Xmas markets. The Bristol Vienna is a luxurious Art Deco hotel with rooms by renowned designer Pierre Yves Rochon and in the perfect location next to the Vienna Opera House. The hotel is within walking distance to all the sights and next to easy tram and metro transportation to view all parts of Vienna. Our amazing unique Opera Suite was beautiful in a chinoiserie style with opulent carpets and precious antiques and fabrics and a wrap around terrace overlooking the Opera House. Our comfortable bedroom came with a larger than normal bathroom and separate shower. We had the traditional Austrian breakfast buffet in the glorious art deco Bristol Lounge before embarking on our days enjoying the different Viennese Xmas markets. Friendly Austrian service and such a wonderful hotel makes us want to come back soon! We will bring gym clothes as well next time as there is a lovely gym area with running machines and weights to burn off all that tasty Austrian food.

I thought the hotel was beautiful and the front desk staff was very kind for the most part, but during breakfast I was sat at a table with no setting and no server greeted me or asked for my drink order. I felt very uncomfortable as all tables around me were given utensils and drinks, and when I asked for utensils I was told that I had to get them myself from the wall. This experience was the first time I felt differential treatment in my travels, and I was very disappointed.

Hotel is a lovely slice of history, with a good dose of modernity. Staff is friendly and helpful, and seems to take ownership of the hotel. Room 52 (Bristol Suite) was surprisingly quiet for being just above street level. Of course, we would have preferred a higher level with an opera house view, but the suite itself was excellent. Platinum status + Suite Night Awards got us good perks such as a suite upgrade and free breakfast. Breakfast was a lovely experience in a classical dining room, though definitely opt for tea rather than coffee. Hotel is in a very convenient location for public transit travel (Karlsplatz station), though street level is highly trafficked and not too nice. No fault of the hotel, but some unsightly city life has grown up around it. We were also disappointed that there was no rooftop bar/dining (early July, 2023). Pictures on the Marriott website lead us to expect it.

Concierge's knowledgeable efforts made dining magical. Location is dreamlike. Service is excellent, especially housekeeping.Breakfast is breathtaking and if you are able do not miss the experience at the Bristol.

Premium location and aesthetic interior design. Our room is spacious and well maintained. The bathroom is extraordinary despite the over 100 years’ history of the hotel. We also enjoyed the breakfast and room services. However, I was astonished and disappointed by the bar manager (or the lead bartender presumably)’s snobbish and indifferent attitude towards us, which devalued the integrity of the outstanding service by other staffers. What a pity!

Shout out to the Bristol! The greatest experience ever in my travels so far. As soon as you step in, the magic envelopes you, oh my! This hotel is absolutely beautiful with a seated elevator. Staff caters to every need you have. The room? I felt I was a queen admiring the view from my balcony. I loved the welcome fruit bowl and chocolates. And my cherry on top is their breakfast, hands down 💯🥂cannot express if any other way: freshly squeezed juices, real eggs, pastries that melt in your mouth and great service!

Absolutely a fantastic hotel!! As a frequent business traveler this property is a jewel in the Marriott portfolio. If my travels bring me back to Vienna it would be a privilege to get to be a guest again of the Hotel Bristol. Congratulations to the managers and staff at the hotel for creating a wonderful experience for your guests.

I initially gave a 5 star review since the hotel beautiful and upon checking in they upgraded me due to my status to a penthouse suite. However at checkout they charged me $200 Euros for the upgrade. They never said a word about a charge. Needless to say I will be calling the Marriott titanium service desk to file a formal complaint. SHAME ON YOU Bristol Hotel!!!

Bristol Hotel offers a great service to its guest from the moment you walked in. We had made arrangement with the hotel for the option of a limo service pick up from the airport and our chauffeur greeted us immediately upon our arrival. Once at the hotel our check in procedure was smooth. Since our room wasn’t ready we decided to have lunch at the Bristol Lounge and it was an excellent choice. The hotel accommodation and staff are wonderful without leaving its centrally location to all major Vienna attractions. Definitely will stay there again.

Grateful for the amazing stay – from the luxurious room to the sparkling champagne, charming tea house, and delectable breakfast. The gym with a stunning view, a variety of machines, weights, towels, and cold water made my workout delightful 🌟 Although brighter staff smiles were missed, my tip for light sleepers: choose a room away from the street view. 🤫 Thanks for accommodating my room-cleaning request, with a gentle nudge for quicker service

Just came back from a 3 night stay and wish we’d never left!! The hotel is gorgeous and elegant. The staff is exceptional. Rooms were luxurious and even had a bottle of champagne and fruit waiting for us on arrival. The hotel restaurant was some of the best food I’ve ever had. Location is central to many activities. Book here! We can’t wait to go back!

One of Vienna's heritage hotels, centrally located across from the Vienna State Opera. It is a great location in the center of Vienna, within walking distance to amazing sites, shopping, and restaurants, while the multiple trams and the underground metro are steps from the hotel's front door. The hotel is Vintage Vienna at its best. Stepping inside, it felt like arriving in Vienna in the early 1900s—classy and opulent from another era with just enough modern conveniences for our needs today. Our room was huge and ornately decorated with a nice view over the bustling Operning/Karntner streets.

We spent a week at the Bristol Hotel. Our room overlooked the opera house and it was gorgeous - huge, beautifully decorated with very modern facilities. Everything is clean, now it's the most important due to current epidemic situation. The hotel is very centrally located - you can literally roll out of the hotel into every shop and restaurant. This hotel met my needs almost perfectly and I would highly recommend it.

First of all, the hotel is in super location for a first time visit to Vienna…across the street from the Opera House, adjacent to the Old Town, close walking distance to Hofsburg Palace and the Belvedere…plus literally on top of the Karlsplatz Metro station (so easy to get around the rest of Vienna and to/from the airport). Staff was A+…friendly, accommodating and super helpful…and breakfast in the restaurant was excellent (with lots of choices…more than you’d honestly expect). The rooms are surprisingly large for a European hotel, but they are definitely historic in decor (so it’s a taste preference). Despite being in a busy area, the room I was in was very quiet without any outside noise. You honestly can’t go wrong selecting the Bristol…I’d definitely stay there again.

Stayed here last week for 3 nights. Overall it is was a pleasant and luxurious stay. Great location, right next to the opera, main high street, and the metro and tram stations. The room was lovely, clean and spacious, the furniture was of good quality. We were upgraded to a bigger room as I am an Ambassador Elite member but not a suite. The bed was very comfy, but it were 2 double beds put together. Housekeeping was thorough and friendly, I really liked how everyday they left chocolate with a leaflet about famous Viennese people and history. We chose the breakfast amenity for the welcome gift, it was decent with a small selection but could be better. The croissants were never fresh. Front desk staff were friendly and brought us a complimentary bottle of champagne as I was celebrating my birthday. Concierge staff however weren’t as friendly, especially one tall white man who never greeted us, smiled at us, or asked us if we needed any help with luggage when we checked in and out. Very bizarre and unacceptable from a 5 star hotel at this price point!

Very rude receptionist. When Marriott called him to make sure I get a late check out he made fun of me and humiliated me and mocked me for utilizing the benefits of platinum memberships . I will not repeat my stay here.

Only visited for dinner in the , because the dinner was included in my VIP ticket to the mozart concert Very beautiful dining room and I have never seen such service-minded waiters. the food was also fantastic especially the dessert was delicious .I may someday book a week at the hotel.

Historical, beautiful, elegant ….I was spoiled by the wonderful staff. Thomas the concierge is a very knowledgeable and he assisted me in finding the best restaurants that offered gluten free options, he directed me to the best shopping, found information I needed to attend the arts 🎭,museums. Thomas and the bell staff also made it so easy to get the countless COVID test required during my visit. Housekeeping was exceptionally, Magda went above and beyond in making my room perfect as I desired….My stay at the Bristol was a most wonderful, amazing experience…THANK YOU 🙏

This hotel has everything, friendly attentive staff and instant response to anything you want. Little touches like free bottles of water every day, an umbrella to loan, dressing gowns and slippers and a boxed chocolate every day make it special. It has old style elegance matched with modern charm. It's centrally placed with the opera house and a tram and train stop opposite, the shops and attractions are a short walk away. One small thing the shower was difficult to keep at one temperature but everything else the hotel supplied overcame that issue. Thank you so much Hotel Bristol we will return!

This hotel is part of the Marriot group's Luxury collection and definitely lives up to the name. The hotel is across the street from the Opera and it's worth spending a bit extra to get the views as it's a beautiful building and looks fantastic at night. The central area of Vienna is steps away and you'll have easy walking access to the city center and many museums and shops. The building is amazing and reflects its long history. The architecture, interior details, and artwork is worth exploring and there are many placards around the hotel providing background on historical items and prominent figures that have stayed there. The main elevator has seats (see pics) and buildings just aren't made like this anymore. There are several shops and restaurants in the lower levels and the breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious. Staff was very professional and friendly. This is a great location to stay for special occasions and if I had a minor complaint it's that the room walls were a bit thin and I could easily hear my neighbors when they were active. But wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This is truly a luxury hotel that goes out of their way to give you a wonderful experience in Vienna. The location cannot be beat if you wish to stay in the heart of Vienna. Steps away from the opera house and the Albertina museum and from your balcony you can view the steep of St Stephen’s Basilica. They have a nice comfortable lounge bar and the breakfast is very delicious. You also get turn down service and nice welcome snacks. One tip for you is that the penthouse suites are actually smaller than the deluxe rooms so if space is your preference then use that for your guide in your decision making process. Don’t get me wrong the penthouse suites are amazing as well!! This is not the cheapest place to stay I. Vienna but your money is well spent if you stay here you will not be sad that you did!

A beautiful old hotel with an absolutely perfect location. Right next to the Underground station as well as street car stops and looked out at the beautiful opera house. Very close to delicious bakeries and restaurants as well as the pedestrian shopping strips. The staff were so kind and friendly and we felt so welcomed. The room was quiet, had lovely robes and slippers, and a very comfortable bed. No complaints whatsoever - we have one night at the end of our trip in Vienna and I would rebook at Bristol if I could!

Beautiful room overlooking the opera. I give this an average rating because the front desk person who checked us in was extremely arrogant.

  • 5/5 Simon S. 3 years ago on Google
Best hotel in Vienna. You can’t beat the location and quality of service. Next door to the opera house and other notable sites. The room was in pristine condition and the attention to detail was amazing. Hotel staff were professional and friendly. I will definitely recommend to family and friends. Looking forward to staying again at The Hotel Bristol in Vienna.
