It’s like a small palace in the city centre. Amazing staff. Always open to questions. Spectacularly big and beautiful bathrooms. I was taking bath and I pressed a button randomly and all of a sudden I was hearing opera. Soo unforgettable. Very good restaurant at the top floor with very good customer service.

Beautiful rooms. Hotel is beautifully decorated and we love the huge x-mas tree in the lobby. Breakfast is awesome with many many options. Hot food is ordered off the menu and included in the buffet price. The location is fantastic and only 1 min from the state opera house and downtown shops!!

Addendum: The operations manager in the day was extremely kind after receiving our review and I have amended it as they have rectified the situation pleasantly. It was an easy experience checking out and they were very sincerely apologetic about the situation. I have to say, the old-world charm of this hotel was completely RUINED by its service and put a sour note in our vacation. We drove in at night and could not find the concierge on duty to assist with our car causing a jam down the main road and had drivers coming down our way to tell us off for blocking off the road. After checking in, one of our rooms completely fell short of the expectations with no luggage rack and we had to ask for them, and the coffee machine was dumped onto a bedside table. Once more, we drove out to the countryside on our third day in Vienna and upon returning to the hotel we could not find the valet, and with our prior experience of clogging the road, we ended up parking further down the road (barely 100m) as there were cars honking at us from behind. Half of our party went to search for the valet who was COMPLETELY UNAPOLOGETIC in telling us we needed to drive our car around again at their convenience as they had 'other guests' to attend to. Even more so when we brought the car around he still maintained his position and refuted at us. To make matters worse, the lobby was completely empty in the evening! Furthermore, we wanted to bring back a few bottles of wine and asked for bubble wrap, of which the two concierges at the front desk simply told us "no". We would have to wait for tomorrow morning for them to ask their colleagues in the inventory department. This is atrocious service unbecoming of a hotel of this expected standard - clearly the guests have to work for the staff and not the other way around. I will never be recommending this hotel again and I doubt I will even have a shred of service recovery from them, but this is a fair warning to others. After travelling around Prague, Budapest and other more pleasant European countries, Vienna has been the worst experience our party has had.

Amazing hotel. I’m obsessed with how beautiful my room looks. The warm ambiance is just perfect, and not to mention how warm everything feels and looks. Anyway, 5/5 for the amazing classical atmosphere this room has.

More like a 3 to 4 star hotel. Pretty old and not renovated. Filthy. Pretty basic. Bad service overall. Not worth the price at all. Good location though. Best to stay near high street such as the Hyatt. Don’t recommend this hotel at all.

I'd move into this hotel if I could. We had the most basic room (queen bed, no view) and it was still quiet, beautiful, and comfortable. (For reference, I'm not the biggest road warrior, but I stay in a hotel on average once a month, and I often get to stay in bigger rooms or rooms with a view, etc.) The hotel breakfast was delicious; be sure to try the apple tart! The hotel's location is perfect if you are planning on hitting the museum quarter. But most of all, the staff at this hotel (all of them! From the front desk to the breakfast restaurant to housekeeping) are so nice! They were definitely a highlight of the stay.

Beautiful building and excellent location... but extremely poor service & maintenance. Still staying at the hotel: first two nights they couldn't fix the air conditioning; had to sleep at 19 °C🥶, warmed up the bathroom with hair dryer so we can use it. Received an unrequested wake up call at 3 in the morning 😡 Changed room: missing towel, bathroom fixtures not working properly, bathroom scale not working... Don't expect a 5star Hotel. All the management said was : we're sorry 🙃

I have never been so humiliated in my whole life of travelling. With the borders closing, I solicited a refund of my reservation, as it si customary, but the reservation manager raised her voice and called me "cheap" for booking the prepaid rate. When I requested to talk to a supervisor she said she is the authority in the hotel as they have no general manager. I have written emails and no one answers. Shame on you, 5 star hotel. Beware when booking directly, as I did thinking they would appreciate that, this is how you will be treated. Worst customer service and no human decency.

A wonderful three nights we stayed here. This is truly a living hotel, as soon as you enter, you feel at home and are made to feel at home by the reception team and the atmosphere. We then went to the room and it was of a very high standard, with a nice decor. Once we had freshened up, we went back down to the lobby and the The Rosengarten for a drink and some food. This has a super ambiance with delightful food and service. We ate there every evening. After a good night’s sleep we enjoyed the breakfast tremendously. Eggs Benedict were perfect as was the whole choice. The breakfast service team were top level and did everything to make sure the day had the best start. Thank you for a great three nights, Kind regards, Ben and Alice.

Recepcionist Marie, Livia and also Anna were so great. They were smileing 24/7, and greeting me when i just went to the lobby. Great job. Portier service is also very nice there. The servise at the bar from Klaudia, Saad, Ahmed, Michael, Shamil was excellent. They were there, when i wanted something at the bar. Our whole staying was amazing becouse of the great FO team and the bar team. Those are the best in class! Also the location of the hotel is so good. We will visit this hotel again for sure.

Hotel is located close to many of the tourist attraction sites and has a parking garage. Breakfast is nice and some of the staff is trying to be helpful. Our room was decent size, bathroom was larger than most. Our room windows were looking into the mall and we had no street view but I did not make that a problem since we were only going to stay a night and needed the room just to sleep. Bed was comfortable but ot was one of the smallest I have slept in at a hotel, pillows were comfortable. WHY ONE STAR ! After a long day out we came to our room to relax and the shower drain was clogged, water was overflowing from the shower. I called the reception, no one answered. I went downstairs to explain the situation and instead of offering us a different room, they wanted to send in someone to repair the drain. I declined that offer. I got my car keys and went down to the garage to get something from my car. The garage doors are automatic and you have to use the doorbell camera to get back into the hotel. Unfortunately tbe ring was broken, I walked for a while to find another exit to the street but there was none. I called in the hotel reception and told them that I was stuck in the garage, it took them an other 5 minutes or so to open the door. At 0800 house keeping knocked my door with the plumber, I told her that we are sleeping and send them back. Unbeliavably they camenback around 0900 and this time I let him in, it took him about 10 minutes to take out a big chunk of hair from the shower drain. I stayed in many hotels all around the world and I can easily say that, my stay at the Grand Hotel was the worst.

Excellent grand hotel in the perfect Vienna location. We got an upgrade on arrival. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The service was great. We came in late to the Rosengarten bar . The kitchen had just closed but the staff in particular Saad, had them make us beautiful club sandwichs and we had great cocktails with them. Really amazing service you don't get very often today. Highly recommend

Rooms are dated and need renovation: stuffy carpet, old mattresses (you can feel the spings). Bathrooms are nice though, elegant and wrll maintained. Buffet restaurant is average and areation is not good (smelly). Rooftop restaurant is good (nouvelles cuisine-like). Building has a lot of history and is overall very elegant. Personnel is very polite, fast and effective. Meeting rooms for business are also dated and need renovation.

It feels so grand!!!!! Gosh! the room felt like I was on the set for the movie, Napoleon. What an amazing and spacious room. Well maintained and clean. Wow, just wow! The room service quality was excellent. The front desk crew were helpful and polite. Excellent service. The toiletries provided in the room are an excellent choice. Lovely scent and texture. The location is brilliant as the Christmas markets are just around the corner.

Fantastic hotel with great service from staff. Food also excellent. Had no kettle on the room for tea (although there was a coffee maker) but one was very quickly provided! Would highly recommend!

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Vienna. We had 2 great rooms on the 4th level. All food options were very good. Service with a smile, great concierge. Short walk to the heart of Vienna. Made our stay special. One of my favourite cities thanks to the Grand Hotel Wein.

Location couldn't be better, make sure you get an upgraded room as opposed to the standard lowest room as the room appointments are significantly better giving you an 18th century feel. My kids were in the standard room and there was a significant difference. Breakfast Buffet in my opinion was one of the top 5 that I have had. When booking definitely well worth getting the breakfast.

Don't waste your money. We stayed for 7 nights for New Year's. Extremely expensive. The hotel is badly in need of renovation. Terrible mattresses. We requested a twin room to unite the beds as our 2-year daughter sleeps with us and a double bed was too small, but not available at the property even if it was confirmed in an email by the reservation department. We had two fire alarms for 2 nights and we had to evacuate the hotel. The problem was in one of the hotel's kitchen, a fire detector was glitchy. We had to wait outside in the cold for the firefighters (like 20-30 minutes response time - this was a surprise) to get back in. Breakfast is above average. The location is excellent. But there are far better alternatives. Oh and for New Year's Eve party we reserved at the hotel's ballroom. Terrible service, the buffet was ready later than announced. For 45 minutes nobody came to ask us for drinks. We could get water to drink after 1 hour. And the champagne came later than 2 hours, after numerous complaints. We took 2 sips and we had to evacuate due to the first fire alarm.

It was a great option for our weeding celebration exactly on this day one year ago! Presidential suit was ideal for the first night💞 The Japanese restaurant on the top floor was absolutely delicious and the fire show there was fantastic! Special thanks to the reception, the cook at the fire show (from Philippines) and portier (from Albania) for amazing options provided 🙏🏻

Hello Vienna, I was very disappointed by the service level this hotel has reached when I first arrived. I stayed here before and it was like heaven but not it is far from what I expected. Although the front desk tried to help but nothing was done. And their supervisor was not picking up their phone calls around 8:30 pm!!! What if there’s an emergency. Today is my first day, check in experience was very 2 stars level. We had dinner at a Japanese place the staff didn’t recognize the ihg level we do have while the restaurant was half empty they insisted on seating us on high chairs. Don’t order steak at the Japanese place. Room are still spacious, although we booked an expensive room and got an email confirmation for the upgrade they gave us the same room level at check in and told us this is the upgrade. The best thing so far is about location very central. I’ll update you about remaining days, hopefully it can get better. After I contacted Thomas the front desk manager the whole experience changed. He is a real hotelier and makes decisions that are logical and reasonable. I will be staying at this hotel next time after I worked with Thomas. The hotel is lucky to have such a resource. Snacks were good though. Enjoy your time in Vienna 😁

Beautiful and stylish hotel in a very convenient location in Vienna. The breakfast is diverse and the food is very tasty. The staff is friendly, helpful and prompt. The room was spacious enough with plenty of amenities. I love that they have a socket in the bathroom. They also provided an iron on request. The only problem (I would say it is an important one) is the bed and the pillows. They are both so soft and uncomfortable. I woke up with back and shoulder pain.

Although its classic hotel, I did enjoy my stay there. Location is perfect just couple of minutes walk from Stephansplatz. The hotel has a nice restaurant and a cafe with a terrace overlooking the street. What makes this hotel special are the staff. So welcoming, friendly and helpful to guests. Thank you

We went for a meal here. My husband booked it as a package with the Mozart concert. The interior is beautiful. There was a nice atmosphere. The food was well presented but unfortunately lacked taste. It was bland. They forgot our bread with the soup. I saw the waitress realised whilst clearing our plates and never said anything. We have eaten at many establishments in Austria and this meal didn't live up to expectations and was the least favourable of the week. Our water was filled regularly. However we had to get someone's attention and ask every time we wanted to order a drink. For a 5 star establishment, we expected more.

Historical, beautiful, comfortable, spacious, luxurious, without kitch (that might look from the photos). I loved this hotel, I wish to score it at 4.5 stars. Thank you, all the teams, for your professional and pleasant welcome. 🛏 We booked last minute, only suites were available during this holiday season. The room was very spacious, ~60sq m, furnished elegantly. Being a cleanliness maniac, I checked the curtains and the chandelier lights, all crystals were impeccably clean and shining. 🍽 There are 3 restaurants currently operating (out of 5 mentioned on the website) downstairs bar / restaurant that serves excellent local food and cocktails with live piano 🎹 in the evening, and authentic japanese restaurant with teppanyaki (reserve!) + sushi bar. And breakfast area, we haven't been to*. 🛋 After sinking in bed for 2 nights I mentioned it at the reception and they proposed a solution, a plank under the matress gave better back support. The room temperature was difficult to control, too hot for us. The beautiful marble bathroom (also overheated, ask at the reception to control the temperature) with radio was my favourite. 🧖‍♀️ Visited the spa area (sauna, steam, showers and lounge leather chairs), free 45 min slots need to be reserved, due to sanitary measures. So u have the area to yourself! 📺 Surprisingly, fixed TV had no movie channels in English, no acess to hdmi, no casting. Movies on demand for 12-15 euros* available, though!! No bluetooth speaker. That is tough for modern generation! *Hotels and everything in Vienna are pricey. Almost 80 eur per 2 for breakfast is exagerated, in my opinion.

I recommend you read the other reviews before staying here. We booked a superior city view king with a terrace for 12/31. We planned to celebrate the new year on our terrace since we had an early flight. The room was 900 euro. We arrive and are not told anything but get up to our room and have a view of a concrete building and no terrace. We immediately call down and are told that the hotel is fully booked and we were “upgraded” despite this room having no view, 2 twin beds pushed together, no terrace. There is about 10 extra feet of space near the couches which we do not need nor want and is not what we paid for. My partner spends 30 minutes downstairs and eventually finds out they let someone else extend their stay in what should be our room. No refund is offered. The best they can do is push two twin beds together and put us in a room with no terrace and not the city view, but a plaza view which we decline as we paid for a room with a terrace and a city view. We are given a bottle of sparkling wine not champagne and only offered free breakfast. My partner asks that we have a reserved spot with champagne to at least watch the fireworks on the rooftop at 11:30. We are told this will be done. We arrive and the staff have no clue of this arrangement and offer that we can buy some champagne there. We call down and are told only that they will make a note of this. The whole stay was unbelievable and we spent much time trying to make it right than they did. The spray handle of the shower leaks, there are no bidet towels.

Feels like stepping back into the luxury of late 19th century. Grand rooms and amenities, music in the foyer, friendly and helpful staff. Sauna (wet and dry) available to all guests. Awesome amenities. Walking distance to Opera and concert hall. 30 min to the airport. True taste of Vienna

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. This site will compare thousands of booking web sites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the highest rated in this area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be disappointed. Excellent luxurious hotel by all means. Great location in the city center with many attractions around. Rooma are big, fancy and clean. Services and staff were beyond expectations as well.
