I would give the hotel negative stars if I could. The staff were extremely unprofessional. They opened the door without knocking while we were in the room a couple of times at night. The room was not cleaned thoroughly. Glasses were left as is and the towels were not clean. The location of the hotel is the only positive as it’s close to the railway station.

I liked the hotel. It was nice because we landed from a long flight early and the room was ready and they let us check in, which honestly made my day! Staff was nice and room was what we needed. Nice larger and new hotel. Some nice restaurants nearby too. A bit far from the tourist Center, but we like to walk so it worked out for us :)

Really well located hotel next to the central train station. There is also a supermarket under the hotel and a great outdoors area to spend some time under the sun or even work. Service is super respectful and helpful which makes things even easier if possible. Rooms are super clean and well looking. Beds are comfortable and there is a café machine and a kettle with some tea, sugar and coffee as well as cups and spoons for preparing a quick breakfast.

Beware if you might get in late or potentially delayed into the early morning. The hotel itself was very nice. I liked the room and the bed was very comfortable, but I almost didn’t get to enjoy it. My flight was delayed resulting in my arrival around 2 AM. The front doors were closed and locked, not unexpected. However, I rang the bell to alert the front desk. The woman behind the desk saw me (it seemed like she did as we briefly made eye contact) but she was moving around. I assumed she would let me in after she finished what she was doing. Nope. She disappeared. I gave it another 5-10 minutes and rang the bell again, maybe she forgot. Nothing. I called the front desk, nothing. I rang the bell again, called again, nothing. I was left stranded outside for an hour at 2 AM in a city I’ve never been to before. I started to panic, I had work to do in the morning but no place to go. Luckily I was finally able to get inside when some drunk patrons arrived with a key. I followed them in and finally the woman behind the front desk emerged. She acknowledged everyone but me, the one with the bags. Finally I checked in but was treated very rudely considering she just ignored me for an hour. No apology, no kindness, just rude as if I was disrupting her evening. If she was at least kind, I wouldn’t have been so mad. When she wished me a nice evening after her rude attitude I hit my limit. I went to my room and struggled to sleep because I was so mad. I have every intention to report them to our travel company that arranges travel for our company and will never even consider this hotel if I come back. Luckily my other days in Vienna gave me a much better experience. Not a great start from this hotel. Beware if you’re getting in late.

This is a review for the restaurant. At first I didn't think it was going to be anything special. But we ordered the steak tartar and that was the beginning of bliss. It was deliciously prepared with the egg on top and the nice slices of bread. My husband had the ribs, which he said were the best he has ever had. And he's from Ireland so he knows good meat! I had the beef stew. It was simple but clean. Overall the food was quality. I defiantly recommend. Especially if you get the tartar!

The hotel is very close to the train station but the neighborhood is very empty at night and a bit far from the center. The hotel lacks personality. I would not go here for a romantic stay and if you want to stay near the city attractions. The room does not have kettle or mini bar. The room was quiet and shower was good as well.

We had a fantastic 3 night stay here last week! It was a 5 minute walk from the train station and very convenient for the buses, trams, and underground. It’s a half an hour walk into the centre which we didn’t mind as there were lots of streets and interesting buildings to explore! The staff were friendly when we checked in! The rooms were clean and spacious for us. We could check out at 12 and leave our luggage at the back for collection later. There’s lots of coffee shops in the surrounding area, plus supermarkets, and restaurants. You can walk to Belvedere palace in 15 minutes!

While the location of the hotel was really good, however I don’t think it stood to its reputation of having such a good rating on various websites. The rooms did not even have a kettle or tea bags (which I feel is so basic), further the pillow in the room was very very soft, when I called up the reception to enquire if they had a different variety of pillow, I was rudely told by the person at reception that the only pillows you get are the one in your room. In an era where hospitality industry goes above and beyond for the customers, they didn’t even offer basic courtesy of interacting politely with customers. I have been to so many hotels in Europe and even the 2-3 star hotels offer a choice in pillow, which is a basic necessity these days.

The Hotel is good located, u can reach U- bahn about 5 Min, you have a Supermarket just about the Hotel. The personel are also Ok!, Breakfast is good and tasty, our room was clean and big enough, I used Sauna too, but 2 out of 3 was not hot, you have to call Reception befor and they will turn it on for you, we were satisfy overall. Thumbs up!

Great hotel with friendly staff and a superb location (5 minutes from station and 20 min from the center). Rooms are clean and have comfortable beds. Breakfast has plenty choice and is good quality. I would stay again!!

A modern hotel ideally located near the main railway station. Some distance from the tourist centre but easily reached via the underground. Good breakfast selection and friendly staffed reception desk. Room was clean and well furnished.

Conveniently located by the train station and only a few stops away from the central area. We chose to stay at this hotel twice, while travelling through Vienna. The rooms are a decent size, pleasantly furnished, cool and quiet, with comfy beds and bedding and clean bathrooms. The staff have been polite and accommodating, offering helpful tips. The only slight downside is that the breakfast is rather expensive and advertises more than what is actually on offer, but still good.

The hotel was a stone’s throw away from the train station & very well sign posted (there was a large banner that we saw upon exiting so we managed to find it) Check-in was seamless & we lucked out as the room was ready so we were allowed to checkin before the early check in even Room was quite sizeable and more than sufficient for us. Water pressure slightly weak but didn’t really pose an issue for us. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so can’t comment on that

The Zeitgeist is an excellent choice for any purpose while in Vienna. As a tour guide staying here with a group of 30 French guests, I found the rooms to be perfectly equipped, clean and comfortable, with effective AC, great showers and superb beds. The breakfast buffet is excellent, the coffee top-notch. The best attribute is the staff, who are friendly and helpful (without being stand-offish), solution-oriented and forthcoming. I especially want to thank Jaqueline at the reception, who went above and beyond the call of duty to find a practical solution to any problem or request I had (and I had many!) during the 3-day stay of my group. My clients were delighted in spite of the modern, non-romantic outward appearance of the hotel and surroundings. Highly recommend! You do have to take a subway to get to the historical center, but the location next to the main train station easily compensates by placing you within easy distance from any destination in Vienna you might want to reach!

The staff seemed a bit annoyed by having to deal with customers, which may be a culturally-influenced observation. The rooms were well appointed, but the pillows were thin to the point of turning to nothing when used, the shower was not quite clean, the hairdryer not quite functional. The location was extremely convenient, however, a short straight walk from the main train station and next to a grocery store.

Stayed here in June for 11 days. Close to shopping/outdoor markets and transit. Clean rooms, the bar/bistro and outside patio were a great place to work or socialize depending on the time of day. Bike rental, laundry/dryer, gym and sauna all free were a huge plus.

Stayed two nights as part of a guided tour so I didn't pick the hotel. Seems like a newer property. Room was bit smaller than average, and a little too high-concept for me. The shelves, desk, wardrobe were cheap construction like Ikea. While the toilet was in it's own tiny room which can be good, the shower and sink area was weirdly open to the room without a door ... limiting privacy and exposing others to unnecessary noise (like when an early riser is getting ready in the morning while his partner is still asleep). The TV was small for the size of the room although we hardly use it. Front desk personnel weren't as friendly as the other Euro hotels we stayed at this trip. On the positive side, the room and rest of the hotel was spotlessly clean, and the Underground was just a couple blocks away so getting to Stephansplatz was less than 20 minutes total. It's also just a couple blocks from a major train station although we arrived on a tour bus. My biggest impression was the unusual shower and sink design, but if you don't mind that it's a decent hotel.

Our recent stay at this hotel left us with mixed feelings. While the location was convenient and the hotel itself was well-maintained, we were disheartened by the lack of attention to detail and guest engagement. We had chosen this hotel to celebrate our engagement proposal, but sadly, our special occasion went unnoticed. It would have meant a lot to us to receive a small complimentary gesture or even a congratulatory note. Additionally, the check-in process was impressively fast but lacked a warm welcome and an introduction to the hotel's services and facilities. We were left in the dark about the sauna and gym's location and how to make the most of the amenities. These small details can significantly impact a guest's overall experience, and we hope the hotel can improve in this aspect for future visitors.

Wonderful and friendly staff. Rooms are well maintained but a tad small. Their breakfasts are divine.

Over the years, the service has deteriorated and become significantly more expensive. Breakfast of 27 euros per person is the most expensive breakfast in Europe! Any nonsense is charged, they took over the business from Ryanair apparently.

My wife and myself stayed at this hotel for three nights recently. Being so close to the main train station it could not be in a better location to visit the whole of Vienna and of course a direct link to the airport. The hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean .The staff are all very polite and very helpful. The food is excellent especially the breakfast. Last but not least it is very reasonably priced and good value for money . All in all I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and when we ever go back to Vienna I wouldn’t bother looking for anywhere else to stay.

The hotel common areas and our room was very clean, staff was helpful and polite, and there was always someone at the counter. The check-in process can also be done online and it does help speed up the process when getting your room.

Coming from a luxury hotel in Dubai, my first impression was just about satisfactory. I found out very fast that the rooms are very practically and functionally designed. The fromtdesk service, food, and housekeeping were all excellent. I look forward to staying again at the Zeitgeist Hotel when the occasion arises. Thank you for everything and kind regards Walter Tappeiner

One of many good hotels in the main station area. Value for price is similar but a bit better than the nearby ones like motel one. The concept however is similar, quite small but clean ans sufficient rooms reduced to the necessary. The staff is friendly, breakfast good. If you are looking for a cheap choice with good infrastructure for a few days, I recommend zeitgeist over other nearby solutions.

Great location, clean hotel. This is a very good 3 star hotel but of course not a 4 star. Funny note: I had only 2 napkins and finishing toilet paper. No mini bar, rooms are small. For 1-2 nights quite ok. Great that they have hourly rates.

Hotels were sizeable, clean, and comfortable. Bathrooms were large and the hotel provided a number of amenities including slippers and a shoehorn. Service was friendly and efficient. The location was good but not great, it was conveniently located next to the train station but it was relatively far from most of the cities main attractions. However, it was the rail station as well as a nearby streetcar station allowed easy access to the cities main attractions.

Lady on the reception who attended me and my wife when we left the luggages in reception to sightsee the last trip day was very friendly and kind. Plus the whole structure was beautiful, cozy and modern. Loved it.

Reception is 24 hour and close to the train station so good if you are arriving late in the night. This hotel is very modern and clean. Most important thing to me in a hotel is cleanliness and they get top marks. Laundry is available from 8am-10pm (preferred hours ) and you can buy one load of detergent for 1€ at the reception desk.

  • 1/5 Maya D. 1 year ago on Google
I will give 5 stars for cleanliness and that is it! Room is kinda claustrophobic, but for 1 night stay it's decent. However, Stuff is too confused. I came for one night only as a business trip. I explained to the lady at the reception that I cannot pay by using contactless payment as I need to use virtual card provided by my company. She made me wait 10 minutes just to give me again option to use contactless payment. She wasnt even listening to me. When I said again that I cannot do it she made me pay the stay with my private card stating she cannot enter virtual credit card with expiery date on it. Funny that in all other hotels I didnt have an issue paying with my virtual credit card. What if I didnt have private card with contactless payment? I believe I was disrespected and not treated correctly. You must have different options to pay! Very close minded thinking! I will avoid this hotel in my future business and leisure stays in Vienna! When I was leaving they didnt even ask how was my stay. You know being only polite without being truthful is not good customer experience and you should work on it.

One of the best hotels in Vienna, nice clean and spacious room's, the only thing missing is a small fridge in the room

I was there before covid period and the hotel it was very clean, modern and with good breakfast. I will visit again when I found some time for vacations. It was near metro station!

A nice hotel just a short walk from the main train station. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and everyone was very friendly. At 19euro the breakfast buffet was too expensive for me but the lounge in the lobby had a nice a la carte breakfast. A nice place to stay.

Great hotel! Big and super comfortable rooms, super clean, great location right next to the Central station (easy to arrive from the airport), and just a few mn bike ride away from everything. Talking about biking, the huge perk of this place is the free bikes!!! That’s one of the main reason why I choose to come here every time I visit Vienna. Prices are great too, especially if you book directly in their website and a few weeks/month before your stay. Zeitgeist has become my blueprint for what a perfect hotel should be!

  • 5/5 Sofia Del R. 1 year ago on Google
Staff was super friendly and extra helpful, food was also great. Cleaning staff loved my dog and would pet her everytime they saw her. I think the staff is what made this hotel stand out. Would gladly come back to this hotel.

Expensive No service according to amount I paid. The bed in Room was dirty. Hand Washing liquid and shampoo in the shower were the same, I mean I don't know If it was a shampoo for hairs or was just for hand washing that I used for my hair! Room smelled a bit bad and was so warm.

Pros: 1- The location is superb, a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof 2- The hotel itself is so nice - extremely clean and modern 3- The staff is extremely friendly and nice 4- Everything in the room was clean and shiny new 5- The hotel is great value for money Cons: 1- Just felt that the breakfast is quite expensive (€25 seemed a bit expensive) - but everything was organic and fresh so I guess that is why

  • 4/5 Siddharth 1 year ago on Google
Nice comfortable room, but the concept of an open bathroom makes no sense in a hotel where it's possible that people who are not couples also stay! Apparently every room is the same and they don't have doors for the shower and no privacy! The TV was old with no apps for a modern hotel. Breakfast was quite good as well, and the main station is close by.

  • 5/5 Nathan J. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely hotel, extremely clean with modern decor and good facilities (including a very nice sauna). The staff are very friendly/helpful, the breakfast is brilliant (lots of choice), and the location is great (5 mins walk from the nearest underground station and main bus/train station). On a side note, it's well worth getting the 72 hour Vienna metro pass for just €17 per person. This provides unlimited use of all public transport - you can get to pretty much all of the tourist hot spots within 10-15 minutes of leaving the hotel. Our 4 night stay was excellent, thank you to the Hotel Zeitgeist team!
