Stayed
here
for
5
nights
in
December
2023
-
a
decidedly
disappointing
hotel
experience,
with
things
only
getting
worse
with
each
day.
-
Location:
practically
nowhere
-
not
in
suburbia,
but
not
in
the
city
either,
even
though
you're
less
than
3kms
away
from
Schoenbrunn.
Useless
if
you
want
to
do
any
sort
of
sightseeing
in
Vienna
on
foot
or
by
using
convenient
forms
of
urban
transport.
Taxi
ride
downtown
would
set
you
back
a
handsome
20
EUR
in
one
direction
-
so
it's
either
that,
or
you'll
need
to
choose
between
a
combination
of
at
least
two
different
buses,
subway
or
tramway
lines
that
will
all
take
you
there
-
eventually.
-
Ambience:
suffice
it
to
say,
the
insignifcant
shopping
mall
next
door
was
better
decorated
for
Christmas
than
the
hotel.
Nice
views
from
the
upper
floors
but
that's
about
it.
Rooms
are
a
tight
squeeze
and
look
terribly
tired
and
dated.
Oh,
and
-
those
sliding
bathroom
doors
need
to
be
outlawed.
If
I
wanted
to
slide
rocks
around
for
privacy,
I'd
probably
still
be
living
in
a
cave.
-
Housekeeping:
asked
on
numerous
occasions
to
have
room
serviced
before
2pm.
Only
got
lucky
with
that
request
(and
actually
having
the
room
cleaned)
one
single
time
for
the
whole
duration
of
the
stay
-
although,
to
be
honest,
it
wasn't
much
use
at
all.
Ladies
weren't
bothered
one
bit
either
way.
-
Cleanliness:
Atrocious!
Unkempt
common
spaces
with
dirty
carpets
and
dusty
windowsills
ubiquitous
-
rooms,
reception,
common
spaces,
restaurant,
elevators...
The
restaurant
on
floor
22
was
an
absolutely
sordid
affair.
Housekeeping
is
not
even
trying
to
be
thorough,
as
described
above.
-
Breakfast:
OKish
in
terms
of
variety
as
long
as
you
get
there
early.
Be
there
at
9.30
and
you'll
be
greeted
with
leftovers.
What's
worse
is
that
the
restaurant
is
such
a
miserable
place,
with
tired
furnishings
and
visible
muckiness
everywhere
you
look.
Case
in
point:
multiple
large
shards
of
broken
glass
(!!!)
lay
all
around
a
table
at
breakfast
one
morning
-
presumably
from
the
juice
that
had
gotten
knocked
over
some
time
ago
since
the
floor
still
bore
a
nice
dried
up
stain
across
it.
Seems
like
staff
hadn't
noticed
or
simply
didn't
care
-
far
too
busy
gossiping.
-
Facilities:
the
bathroom
boasted
a
broken
off
syphon
tile
simply
laid
aside,
not
to
mention
the
mold
buildup
here
and
there.
No
room
service
over
the
weekend
so
the
doner
across
the
street
is
your
only
hope
if
you're
hungry.
No
soap
in
the
restaurant
toilets
(!?).
And
to
top
it
all
off
-
the
worst
newfangled
elevator
system
ever:
pseudo-modern
but
in
fact
terribly
inconvenient
and
cumbersome.
All
in
all,
the
hotel
feels
terribly
disheveled
and
rather
understaffed.
The
staff
that's
there
could
definitely
use
(much)
better
supervision
-
it
feels
like
the
place
has
been
taken
over
by
people
who
just
can't
be
bothered.
Holiday
Inn
is
supposed
to
be
a
symbol
of
hominess
-
this
one
felt
anything
but.
