DO NOT STAY HERE! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WITH CHILDREN! Awful experience here. We decided to stay at this hotel/hostel as I had read they had a “no noise after 10pm” policy. I quickly discovered, this was not the case. Constant noise throughout the night, people sat outside talking very loudly gone past 2am. It was also brought to my attention that there is staff on reception until 2am so for a place that says in every room “do not make noise after 10pm” I was completely baffled as to why there was so much noise. To make matters worse, at around 2.30am the people in the room next door decided to have to worlds loudest intercourse, to the extent where we thought this was taking place outside our bedroom door! As you can imagine, this was awful to have to hear and prevented us from sleeping. When I went to complain about this and ask for a refund, staff in reception were completely rude and unhelpful. The Lady tried to shoo me away from reception whilst I explained what had gone on. There was absolutely no apology for my bad experience at this hotel or any attempt to resolve the issue. I was told I would not get a refund, and wasn’t even offered the option to move away from the loud room. The customer service was horrific and very rude. So much to the extent we checked out early and lost all our money. If I could give this place a 0.1 star - that would be generous of me. I have never in my life left a bad review on a hotel before, but I hope this review means someone won’t make the mistake we did and stay here!!

I’ve never posted a review before, but my experience here is worth my first review. We came here with a tour group of 16. The hostel knew well in advance about us coming, but we were still made to wait for over an hour before we could get into a room because upon arrival, they had said 6 of us girls would be rooming with two random men (which is strictly against our tours policy). They made us wait while they “cleaned” another room for all 8 of us to get into. We would later find out at 3:30am in the morning that this actually meant they were just going to take out the person’s belongings who was staying in there without telling them and clean it. This man then came into the room with his key at 3:30am yelling that this was his room and scaring us all to death. The receptionist’s “plan” was to deactivate his card so that he’d go back to reception after trying to get in and they’d tell him that they moved his things….this clearly didn’t work. Extremely unsafe and invasion of our privacy and his property. The rooms were way too small for 8 beds and the supply of a small pedestal fan for 8 people in the middle of summer is horrifically insufficient. Using the supplied linen and hand towel felt dirtier than using nothing at all. Other people in our group were made to stay in an entirely different building in the basement level where there was mould and windows they couldn’t open. I’ve stayed in many, many hostels and can easily put up with pretty poor conditions, but it was so bad I forked out extra many to stay somewhere else for the next night. Overall really bad experience. Wouldn’t recommend.

Stayed in a double room for two nights, picked this place as was checking in after midnight (you just have to let them know and they are fine with it). Overall the room was fine, good for the location as Vienna is expensive and very Ideal as right by the train station so can get to centre of Vienna in under 20 mins.

The rooms where small and really hot, the shower wasn’t working, the staff was really rude and unprofessional, the locker in my room didn’t locked properly and they try to charge me 7 euros to fix it. The kitchen wasn’t clean and the cleaning person clearly goes through your stuff while they clean, this is without a doubt the worst hostel in Vienna, check in at your own risk

I do not recommend this at all. Stayed here for 3 nights in 2 different rooms. In both rooms you here people talking loud outside until 02:00 when there should be a policy of silence after 22:00. The fun fact is that the employees are also participating in the noise?? Room itself is very small without a table or any place beside you're bed to put you're glasses or charge you're phone. (Been to multiple hostels this one is the smallest) Bedsheets contain stains, are dirty and don't even fit the matrass. The pillow is the fun thing, its pretty much non existant and the size of a hand, which sleeps very uncomfortable in combination with the terrible matrass WHICH IS SOMETIMES SMALLER THEN THE BED ITSELF. Wouldn't recommend for sleeping only when you like backpain and poor sleep. On a positive note: the bathroom is clean, but thats it.

Terrible sleeping experience; People make a lot of noise outside during the night, even though there should be a 'quiet after 10' policy. The beds are terrible, because you get a pillow the size of your hand, it's 50/50 if you get a bad quality matrass, too many people in a small room, only a couple of outlets per room; not close to beds and no table or something else to put your stuff on. Positives: clean bathrooms, friendly staff, luggage room, lockers, good location. Conclusion: don't go here if you want a good sleeping experience, out of 6 hostels we went to this was the worst and the most expensive hostel.

I stayed at hostel during my Christmas trip. Hostel is located near Westbanhof station, there is also metro nearby, it's easy to get train or bus to airport which was very important for me. Room was clean, towel was free, heating was good in a room. The only thing which I didn't like it's that powersockets weren't located near bed which isn't comfortable. Breakfast was quite good, coffee ☕ was delicious. I enjoyed my stay , I recommend.

Could not sleep, cleaning lady played radio in the morning, americans talking 4 in THE Night. Sleeping on the train is quieter. Room gets too hot, Windows must be open... No ac. Only one fan with No outlet, very strange. But very friendly reception and easy check in. Very Close to westbanhof. Nice with coffe vending machine. But for THE Price it should have higher standards.

Would recommend a homeless shelter over this place. While the young workers at the reception are kind, the higher-ups are some of the worst people I've encountered and absolutely not suited for working with people, let alone hotel business. Extremely rude and patronizing. I got scolded like a child for TALKING (supposedly breaking the 10pm no noise treaty) meanwhile the very next day staff literally had a party at around midnight with other guests outside. Cleaning staff just barges into the room without a word or a knock, i don't think they speak any English either. Bedsheet covers half the bed, the pillow might as well not even exist, cards break all the time - had to get mine literally replaced for it to work. Rooms have sockets smack dab in the middle of the room so good luck trying to keep your phone on you while charging overnight. Premium WiFi is even slower than their free one for some reason. The only good things about this place are the price and location, I'm baffled how is this place still around considering how they treat paying customers. Do not give them a penny unless you're desperate for a cheap stay.

It was nice that it was located in westbanhof. There's a lidl and metro just two minutes away so you don't feel isolated. I stayed in the 8 bed room and everyone was friendly and kept to themselves and were tidy. I felt my bags and things were secure if i left them in the room.

Room and bathroom is very neat, each room has its own toilet and bathroom even the shared rooms. However internet does not work in the rooms far from the reception. Hence a 4 start but I'll recommend because its 6 minutes walk from the bus and train station and have stores around it too. There is also a bar in the property.

This is easily the worst hostel experience that I have ever had. - The rooms were far too small for purpose, poorly lit, stank of cigarettes and were very hot despite the fan they placed on the windowsill. The heat was unbearable during the night. There was nowhere to put our bags so they clogged the narrow walkway between the beds, making moving in the room very difficult. In our 8-bed dorm, only 6 of the beds actually had privacy doors and access to a reading light and plug. The remaining bunk bed (which had clearly been shoved in as an afterthought) had no access to any such amenities, making charging our devices very difficult and inconvenient. For the member of our group that had a plug, it did not work. - Security was very poor. There were no lockers, and the beds were not lockable as had been advertised, despite the passcode system that had been attached to the privacy doors on the beds. When we asked reception how to work the bed locks, the response was disinterested and we were essentially told that they just do not work, and are just for show. During the day, we had to place all of our bags into the one bed which had a door and use a bike lock to chain the door handle to the ladder, but even this wasn't a perfect fix as the top bunk is open from the top. It made it difficult to enjoy our day out in Vienna due to our concern about luggage. The window (which certainly opened far enough for someone to climb through) was a major concern as it opened directly onto the street, so the shutters had to be kept closed at all times if any privacy was wanted. However, one of our roommates, an older man, kept reopening these shutters whenever we closed them. - This roommate was also a major problem. When we entered the room, he was lying there in his underwear, drying his underwear all over the dorm. We are a group of young women, so this was already rather uncomfortable. During the night, he opened the window frequently to smoke, had multiple showers at unsociable hours which was very loud given the proximity of the bathroom to the bedroom, and was constantly coughing so loudly he retched. This happened both nights we were staying there. He also made inappropriate comments towards us, which worsened our discomfort. I understand the hostel is not directly responsible for his actions, but it made our already bad experience even worse. - A staff member came into the dorm room early in the morning when the majority of the guests in the dorm were still asleep for no apparent reason, which felt like a breach of privacy. - The 'free towel' that was provided was very small, the beds were not made upon arrival which is just demoralising when arriving tired at the end of the day, and the sheets that were provided did not even fit the bed. Overall, I can only advise that people staying in Vienna look elsewhere for accommodation. Our experience here was awful, and I do not at all recommend.

It's unexpectedly good. The hostel is well managed and has all the facilities to the backpackers. They have a nice bar and a well-equipped kitchen. You can also rent a bike. Good value for money 💰.

The owner (female) is extremely rude, insulting and aggressive. Room is very small and overpriced. Any other option would be better for you. It's like living in a wet closet there.

Definitely not recommended! Firstly, when I checked in the evening, they gave a used bed in the dorm. Reported this at reception and got a new bed assigned. Confirmed the bed number & I set my bed and went to see the city. Came back at midnight to see someone else using my bed! Apparently the same bed was given to two people. Very disappointed with service & organization. Response from one of the reception staff was 'why don't you just pay for a private room to prevent such issues'!! Unbelievable! No words.

The good: The location, the prices and cleanse The bad: Too noisy, noise from the street and from the shared rooms next to your room, slims wall that let pass through all the sound, in the bathroom you can't turn off the lights, works with a sensor and this turns off by time, the bathroom light leaks inside the room, no hair dryer, the toilet paper came in piece of one to one, is not a roll. Although can be one of the cheaper hotels in the zone but if you need to rest properly recheck your options. Maybe it can be fine if you are really young

The experience ne and my friends had in this hostel was nice. The rooms were clean and also the bathroom we had in our bedroom. We liked the general atmosphere of the hostel and mostly of the city. The breakfast didn’t fully satisfied us, cause there are not many things to eat and the staff keep going around your table rushing you to finish. The only thing we didn’t like about this hostel was in fact the staff, they were a bit rude and not very helpful or open. We also have to communicate that the lockers of our room didn’t work: even if you closed them with the appositive locker they would still be open.

The price is just great; you get a clean and modern room with an own bathroom consisting of wc and a shower and it's just a 3-min-walk to the next underground station. Especially for young people who'd like to save money the best choice in vienna. The only thing one might consider an issue is that most rooms are really small, like it's filled up with two beds and two small wardrobes with just enough space to get to the beds and open the bathroom door. However, in my opinion no problem as you're mostly somewhere in the city anyway and only need the room for sleeping.

I recommend this hostel for Vienna. First of all it’s well located, near the metro, tram and train stations. The rooms, bathrooms and the kitchen are well cleaned. It has a friendly staff. In the hostel there is a small bar to have breakfast. It is in front of a super market too. The negative points are that you must have your own lock in order to use the locker in the room, also the rooms where a bit cold during the night.

Amazing place and friendly staff. I stayed there in 2018 for 8 days and 7 nights. It was my first international stay which was made comfortable with the prompt service and response to any request. The kitchen is well equipped and clean. The decoration and interior design is apt for a friendly and cool atmosphere. It has a playful vibes in it. The staff will also help you in guiding / suggesting the routes and places. Being located in a prime location...one can find all means of transport in walking distance. The Westbahnof railway station is minutes away from the hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Don’t Step Inn. I wish I could give this hostel zero stars. I was staying here with a tour group - we had to wait 2 hours for our room to be organised because when we showed up to check in they hadn’t had anything prepared. We waited, waited and waited. Turns out they were scrambling to find us a room, then spent a long time trying to clean it. When we finally got in, the floor was slippery wet with mop water and disinfectant - and it felt anything but clean. The pillow you are given is a small cushion, and the bed sheets don’t even fit the bed. The bed resembled a coffin or cupboard - and the door on the bed could slide shut if you felt like dying prematurely from lack of airflow. Speaking of airflow, there’s no air conditioning and only 1 small window at one end of the room which opens to a busy and loud street. You are given 1 small desk fan which is simply not good enough to ventilate or circulate the air in a room with 7 other people. The heat in the room was horrific. At 3am a man entered our room claiming it was his. He had a key, so it seems he wasn’t at fault for anything. He’d simply returned back to the hostel to go to sleep to find all of his belongings had been moved by the staff without being told and 8 women were now in the room he was in. This is why it took so long for us to get our room, because the staff were busy kicking out another patron without his consent and without even communicating this with him. 8 women waking up to a stranger in their room at 3am in the morning is absolutely completely and utterly unacceptable and all that was offered for compensation was a free breakfast. Don’t stay here unless you want to leave feeling traumatised and dirty. I will be seeking a refund for this stay from the organisation I have booked my tour with, because I ended up booking an Airbnb around the corner to save myself another night in this hell hole.

Good location, just a few minutes walk from Westbahnhof. Good and polite staff with friendly service. Good rooms with windows, comfortable mattress and blankets, clean well equipped bathrooms with hot water. Good prices as well. Would recommend. :)

Had triple room if I recon 306, very nice and bright. Very clean, furniture is new and fresh. Location is a bit remote from very central, but still walkable - 30-40 minutes. Staff was very friendly and good priced bar. Breakfast was a bit disappointing though so won`t recommend, but apart from that i would return to this hostel.

Good for its price. Location a bit far from the city center (around 30 minutes walk), however there are good connections with metro and trams. Friendly staff. Several inconveniences: no elevator, towel provided (for free) is really small, bathroom light working with detector therefore can turn off and leave you shower in the dark. Uncomfortable pillows and linen small for the bed size

Very nice staff and great kitchen area. Bit far from city center but good public transport is near. Rooms very comfy and good sized. No proper blanket cover and too short mattress cover was a minus. Lidl was really close by as well as cheap food places. Overall really good.

Cozy place, has everything you need, and with good service. Very convenient location near Westbanhof where one can easily go amywhere.

The best: the confy rooms and the whole service. From the entrance, you can enter anytime with the card key. Breakfast, buffet style, is cheap (6 the regular or 9€ with eggs, ham, and cheese). The luggage room is available without an extra cost. The kitchen is cleaned and they have some free food from where to choose from. Beds are confortable, they have a locker for each room. They give you towels for free too.

We loved be there. Small but cozy and clean twin room. The location is perfect for tourists. Staff is nice. I didn't like the smell in the kitchen when you cross there to go to the rooms, but is not a big problem because you didn't feel it in the rooms.

Pros: Good price Near Westbanhoff Near a supermarket Very accessible Cons: One of the most cramped hostel room I’ve stayed in. I can’t really complain. I got a good price for it. Despite my last minute booking.

nice staff, only good experiences. i enjoyed my time there and was able to really discover vienna. i’d like to be back for sure! only thing i’d complain: the sheets. not cool. and some guests were very noisy, but that depends on your luck.

The place is great regarding it's location and bedrooms. Good for traveling with friends. The bad side in my case was the breakfast part (buffet). We arrived at 9:30 (it's served until 10:30) there were a few pieces of ham, 2-3 sceambled eggs, a few buns, 1 dl of milk. Not enough for a single meal, let alone for 3 people in our party. We scraped what was fhere and tried to make the best of it. during 20-30mins we were there the staff refilled the milk jar (not to full and not enough for the 3 of us to at least have cereal) and they put 2 more sceambled eggs. We would not pay the 7,9€ each if we knew, we left hungry. Staff at the reception was polite but very uninterested or mindful.

This hostel is fine. Clean enough but the rooms were average at best. The sheets didn’t fit the bed and there was nowhere to hold the shower head up. The lockers were broken and the heater didn’t work properly either. I would stay here again though if not for the rude receptionist! I normally don’t do stuff like this as I understand everyone has off days, but out if the 30+ hostels I’ve stayed at across Europe, this was by far the worst customer service I’ve ever received. During my stay there was a mix up due to a failure of the hostels self checkin system. I spoke to a staff member about it and it was “resolved” however I later received an email saying my booking was cancelled while I still had one night left - which as you can imagine is quite distressing. In addition to this my key no longer worked for my room? When I went back to speak to the woman at reception she was exceptionally rude to me, showing no sympathy or willingness to listen at all. Such a shame, rude staff are such a turn off - do better!
