Decent hotel close to the metro station. Our room looked modern and clean although we found some belongings (i.e. hair clip) after previous guests - that doesn't leave very good impression about the cleaning staff. Toilet is mounted on crazy height so if you're below 170cm your feet will hang 😀. But it's a detail. Breakfast was OK. Nothing superb, ham looked a bit dried but most of the food was tasty. There is no hotel parking (advertised in the hotel's details) or at least we didn't get the spot. I've asked for it at the reception and have been told to park at the street in front of the hotel. You have to be lucky to get the spot and you have to pay for it after 8am on weekdays.

We arrived at the hotel on the 15 of December with -2c degrees and the weather forecast fo the next days was -6 and snowfall. Although the room was really nice the heating was not working !! The first option they offered us was to give us more blankets! Keep on mind that we are taking about a 4star Hotel !!! We finally moved to a new room at 11;00 pm ! We were awake from 5 in the morning that day . The new room that offered us had 2 single beds since they could not offered a bedroom with a double bed ! It was hard to believe that there was no free bedroom with double bed, in the hotel. Unfortunately the one mattress was totally destroyed ! I had terrible sleep and I woke up with a pain in my back. I called them 8 o'clock in the morning to inform them that they have to find a solution ! Both the lady that was in the front desk and the "manager" were so rude and without any concern about my problem they just informed me that the housekeeper will come up and check it ! After one hour of the phone call I had no news .I had to go ro the reception by myself just to inform. Me that the housekeeper had not informed the m about the mattress!! It was insulting not only the fact that they didn't t believe me but also that they acting like the didn't care of what I was telling them . The result was that I obviously I was very disappointed so I asked the manager to come up with me and check the mattress. THEY NEVER ADMITT THAT THE MATRESS WAS SUCH IN BAD CONDITION! THEY TREATED ME IN AUCH A BAD MANNER THAT I COULD NECER IMAGINE ! Of course I asked for their business cards but only the manager offered me one . The other lady said she does not have one ! All these in Novotel Wien 4star hotel !!!

Pleasant hotel for a short stay in Vienna. The room wasn't huge but didn't feel cramped, and was clean and comfortable. The big TV in the room was nice, though only one side of the bed had a plug socket which was disappointing. Location is okay, not in the city centre but close enough to tram and metro stops. Service could be improved a little bit, we were initially given the wrong type of room though we did get the correct room once we went back to the reception. The coffee / tea sachets also were not replaced day to day. We were given a slightly later checkout when requested which we appreciated. Overall had a nice stay.

    1. Miserable room: - the bathroom (toilet) with traces of urine and dust all over the toilet bowl, - there were hair in the shower (it was horrible to put the little girl in the shower), - torn papers hidden under the bed (and the beds are high, so you could lightly vacuum under them). I reported this fact to the reception, but in vain, they only changed the sheets on which our little girl had an accident. It is the first time that at a 4-star hotel, we do not find slippers (we did not carry the slippers with us in our luggage), and it is also the first time that we go to a hotel and do not find the cards that are placed on toilet and bathtub/shower cabin, which mention that they have been disinfected. 2. In the restaurant, many chairs that looked like after the war. 3. The playground for children, miserable. 4. Honestly, we got tired of the same breakfast every morning for 5 days. Effectively, the same breakfast. In the last 2 mornings, I only ate fruit. 5. I asked the reception to be told to bring us garbage bags, as we have a baby who wears diapers. On the first day, they brought us 2 garbage bags (you could hide 2 cows in each), then... break. It is inadmissible that we could not have the comfort that we paid for. We were shocked that such a thing is possible at Novotel. We were on our honeymoon and we expected more than decent, but if we had known...I think the Ibis hotel was a better choice. As a conclusion, Vienna is gorgeous (we plan to return in the summer), but we will definitely not stay at Novotel again, at least not in Vienna.

Nice room, bed a little too small and not really comfortable. The disappointment was immediatly upon arrival ( 16:00, 29.10.2022. ) to the hotel when the staff at the reception told us we can’t get the room we reserved because of renovations in the Novotel Wien City and sent us to Novotel Suites. Shocked, we tried to explain that this was something that we should have known before coming to Vienna and their hotel. This staff member wasn’t very helpful or kind to us, rather hostile, because he didn’t try to suggest this option to us or explain anything, he persuaded the idea of us going to another hotel. We came to Novotel Suites and were met with a building full of renovations in the lobby and reception area. The staff there was more helpful as they understood that we want the room we booked at the right hotel and told us the Novotel Wien City isn’t unable to accommodate us because of renovations, but due to their lack of organisation and overbooking. Then they again sent us to Novotel Wien City where we finally got our room. Later on, we checked and saw the price difference between Novotel Wien City, which has already been paid for, and Novotel Suites which aren’t in the same category at all. The worst thing in this whole situation is that we felt a slight discrimination because when we were sent to Novotel Suites, the staff spoke our language (Balkan region). We didn’t want to make our stay unpleasant or get the staff in any trouble, so we haven’t tried to talk to a manager even though we thought we should have. I just hope you work on these issues in the future because the hotel has potential.

Thank you for the polite service from the waiter Sebastian and the team. The main courses especially the boss burger was delicious. We will come back.

The reception staff is very rude. No courtesy or hospitality offered. Racist and Disparity being Indians even after requesting a lot of times. Basic services for the rooms weren’t provided. In addition the rooms were dingy and small. Teodora at the reception was racist. Wasn’t expected after staying at chains of novotel and travelling throughout the world. Terrible terrible experience. Bobby was the only helpful one!

I gave it the 2 stars because it was clean which is hard to find with 4-stars hotel but its first Novotel Hotel that felt like an accomodation or a hostel in terms of service. The room had no amenities only towels and 3 in one shower gel/shampoo/ hand wash. The staff were so unhelpful, 2 nights in a row we asked for different things and they told us that it will take 15 mins, the other night we asked for water to buy, they said that management implemented a new role not to send water upstairs and that we have to come down, but i wasn’t going to go down in my sleep, and they only brought it when i told him i’ll email Accor group because this never happens in Novotel hotels around the world. So it mainly lazy staff refusing to help guests.

This hotel is a very reasonable compromise for those that want easy access to the historical heart of Vienna, but want a modern hotel with a good quality fitout and slightly cheaper than if you were staying within the ring. Whilst I would certainly not recommend the buffet breakfast, the rooms were excellent, the hotel was around the corner from a train station, and a short walk to the old city, plus an easy walk to the prater. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I was lucky enough to return to Vienna.

Reception was very friendly. Room was good. We didnt like the breakfast and the how the restaurant area is narrow. It seems like they are saving the salmon in jars as very precious thing and they put only few jars which i never actually saw them being available. Upon request we got 2 jars but next day they told us if it is not there it is not there, sorry... As not pork eating person, i usually appreciate something that is not pork. Choices were limited. We have stayed at other novotel hotels and expected same quality but we didnt find it so. The staff is hard working. Location is good.

Good location with easy access to the underground network. Not super close to central but access is easy enough. Room was clean and staff were friendly. -1 star as they did not stock the mini bar once we had used items, perhaps missed by the service staff. We did use their QR code to request for new items but this was not followed up and we did not receive anything.

Great affordable hotel in a good location. Dealt with francesco at check in who was really nice and offered advice on what to do while on vacation in Vienna. Really nice comfortable rooms with everything you need. There was a mini Fridge in the room which was great and also the tap water was drinkable and better tasting than the bottled water here in Ireland. Really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be back.

Was looking forward to this hotel stay, based off the great reviews. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our stay here. We were placed on the second floor with a room facing the street. There is a MASSIVE amount of construction going on directly in front of hotel. The noise in the mornings was unbearable. We were woken up at 6am everyday by the loud construction. This was very frustrating. There is also no AC during the winter at this hotel, only heat. We did not know this until our room got unbelievably stuffy and hot at night and we called the front desk about it, only to be laughed at that there is no AC in the winter. Yes the windows open but good luck sleeping with the windows open while construction is going on. This made sleeping very uncomfortable and nearly impossible during our whole stay. We asked if we could move to a higher floor or the back of the hotel and front desk told us there was nothing they could do to help and that “every room is affected by the noise.” Just beware that you will not sleep good here while the construction is happening. Location of the hotel is nice, but that’s about it. Breakfast costs extra $ and a bottle of water from lobby is ridiculously overpriced. Stay somewhere else closer to heart of Vienna, unless you love loud construction at 6am everyday. *attached is the pictures of construction directly in front of hotel*

We liked staying at this hotel. The room was tidy, warm and spacious enough for a mother and 2 kids. Breakfast is worthy ordering in a package "b&b". Close walking distance to the city center and metro station. Highly recommend

The location is good, but there is no parking. The rooms are showing their age, things are chewed up on the corners and there's mold in the corners of the baths. Cleaning lady didn't bother filling up the empty shower gel dispenser for 3 days...

Good Hotel, good placement, nice and tidy! Found the room nice and cold ! One thing i want point out: made the reservation while we were underway on the Highway. Had a car problem and thought we couldnt make it and send a request to cancel the Pre-paid room, hoping for understanding from the Hotel Staff….but they rejected our request. Made it to the Hotel very late, not to lose all money for nothing.

This hotel is very convenient both from the station and airport and for accessing the city. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very helpful. We asked for extra pillows and they were very promptly brought up, there is complimentary water in the fridge and the hotel as a whole is quiet. The gym is clean and modern. Three things we noted during our stay: The room was a pleasant temperature at all times but the toilet and bathroom were always on the chilly side We had a room with a bath, when using the shower the water had a tendency to escape under the shower screen and flood the floor. This seems like a design flaw with the screen If, like us, you pack light and wash clothes, there is no heated towel rail or similar to dry clothes. All said we would stay here again if we visited

Horrible experience at Novotel ! The room doesn't have any amenities. At the time of check in itself there was no hand soap in the washroom. After calling and asking them several times, they said they will let housekeeping know about it. We stayed there 3 days, the soap was never refilled (even at checkout ) . Other basic amenities were also not there like conditioner, iron, soap, dental kit or anything (even after informing the reception every single day and asking for it ).

My experience with this hotel was absolutely horrible and please be careful if you wish booking with them. My partner and I booked a 3 days stay at this hotel a few weeks ago (we booked it on their own website) and our flight was delayed on Friday evening and we arrived later to the hotel (arrived on Saturday 23 around 2am ish). When we arrived the receptionist told us he could not allocate our reservation number and the show started in here. He said we must booked a room in another hotel (we had to show him again the booking number and the address of the hotel we booked the room ) and then he said he was new and did not know how to use very well the “software” of the hotel and therefore he will give us a room for that night and next morning we will be allocated in a new room. Went with him to the first floor and he opened 1 room (someone was inside) and said oh the system must flagged a wrong room please wait in here and I will come back in a few seconds. My partner and I waited for him in the corridor of the first floor and the guy came and opened a second room . Surprise! Someone was inside too. He told us to come to reception again. After 30 minutes trying to check how his own system work decided to call a friend that works for IBIS (asked why he did not call his boss; he replied “my boss is in bed”). The friend that work at IBIS tried to guide him to find our reservation number but he could not do anything and after 1 hour and a half ish he mentioned that our reservation does not exit and that the hotel is fully booked and can’t allocate us in any room. He told us to pay a cab and go to his colleague’s hotel (IBIS and far away from the centre). After being patience I started getting nervous and complained. He told me was not his problem (told him but you work here can you give us a solution?) he said he was new and did not know how to use the system of the hotel (meanwhile this happened to us another customer came to tell him he forgot his card inside the bedroom and wanted to have a new card to get in and he did not know how to activate a new card and customer was waiting for a very long time (he had time to go for a cigarette) and after a while he made a complain and the receptionist being rude said to him in a quiet way f***O** (I could hear him). Also, I Forgot to tell that the price for our first night was 175 euros (not crazy expensive but not cheap either). To end with my review my partner started checking for another hotels around the area and a Italian couple arrived. The girl provided her reservation number and guess what happened ! He could not find her reservation number either. The issue is that the couple paid already and we did not pay (select the option to pay at arrival) so I don’t know how their situation ended up as he said they could not give the money back. We decided go to Eurostar that even though was further away was 3 am in the morning and we did not have another option as the 2 other hotels my parter called nearby were fully booked for the next 3 days. Ofc we paid for the cab. Conclusion ! Don’t book any room at this hotel at all and please note that I wanted to make a formal complaint at the hotel and the guy did not provide any complain form neither his name. Will call customer service to make a complain in case I can help another Customers. Hope this can help someone.

I stayed with my family at the hotel for a week and was genuinely impressed by the exceptional service, particularly from the waitress ALISA at the restaurant during breakfast time. Her attentiveness and genuine warmth made our visit truly memorable. From personalized recommendations to swift responses, Alisa's dedication to ensuring a delightful experience set a high standard for hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel, where Alisa's outstanding service adds an extra layer of excellence.

My family and I stayed here for a week during December 2023. My stay at the hotel was truly delightful, and the standout hospitality from waitress Alisa and the chef, the one with the long beard, added an extra layer of warmth to my experience. Alisa's and the chef's attentiveness and genuine friendliness made me feel truly welcome. Kudos to this dynamic duo for making my time at the hotel so enjoyable.

Nice clean place with good view. Average breakfast. Room size is small. There is no place for additional bed, so you need additional room if traveling with kids.

I booked 3 rooms. I travelled with my family and another 2 couples (Xuereb and Baldacchino). In 2017 i stayed at the same hotel and received excellent service. The problems happened on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of December, both for breakfast and for dinner. I was very disappointed to have booked for the other couples and having them to wait to get a coffee cup for a coffee during breakfast. Most of the food items had finished. On 2 occasions we had to wait for about an hour to get our food after ordering.

Everything was so good till our last day of our stay where we were told in front we f many other guests that we are not allowed to enter the breakfast area. I asked why this happened and told us that we haven’t paid. When I booked the extra day I asked to book the same room with same terms and to pay extra money. In the end they did not provide breakfast as agreed and they asked me to pay 20 euro per person for the breakfast which was very disappointed because I paid extra amount of money for not my fault. It’s really disappointing.

We booked the hotel because we wanted parking, but their parking was full. They helped us to fing another parking (6euros a day). The breakfast was not so good for a hotel for that price. The room was nice.

Liked - Location in the centre of Vienna Breakfast was ok for 4* hotel It's Novotel - so if you've been in one, most of them are the same :) Disliked · We missed information about parking being in a remote location and looking by a long row of cars parked on the street in front of the hotel, we weren't the only ones. It's 300 meters with your luggage or you can unload your luggage at the very high traffic street with no parking. The hotel should be much more proactive about communicating this upfront. The receptionist (blonde woman) was quite annoyed by my disappointment about parking being remote. Restaurant/bar staff was also quite a low point. In the empty bar had to wait good 5 minutes to be served as the barman was busy talking with the only other customers. On most of the days was offered an omelette etc. for breakfast, but not at all - not sure why. My one very good staff experience was Mr. Dariusz at the reception who gave us couple of tips about public transportation around Vienna.

The receptionist with glasses was bad with us, I've stayed in the hotel before, but I will not repeat the experience

  • 5/5 Ghinea D. 1 year ago on Google
The location was excellent! We arrived a bit earlier, but we had a bit of luck because our room was ready, and we could check in earlier than the designated hour. The receptionist was indeed helpful, and the process of check in/check out went smooth. The rooms are clean, and the housekeeping does a good job as well. The breakfast isn't something spectacular, but for the price paid, it is more than you need. You can find every assortment you expect for a proper breakfast. Our stay was excellent, and I would definetly say that it was a great choice for our first time in Vienna.

A great hotel in an excellent location with pleasant and helpful staff. There is a gym and even a small playground for the children that kept them busy for quite some time while the parents sat in the restaurant leisurely. The rooms are modern and clean with USB sockets everywhere although there is not much room for luggage when it comes to a family with children. The breakfast was good and varied. In conclusion, a recommended hotel for visitors to Vienna.

The rooms were very small not really suitable for 4 people (2 adults + 2 kids). We reserved 4 rooms like this, we didn't have any free place in the room. Bathroom and shower have no door lock. The patients of the worker was not so pleasant. But other than that the location was perfect, and the parking is near by, and there was a nice room with games for the kids.

Hotel is really nice located near the city center. Its rooms are spacious and modern. The thing that needs to be improved is the way the server clean up in the morning at breakfast and also, the rate the dishes get refilled. If you happen to arrive at 9 am you might not get much.

I didn't have a reservation and I arrived after midnight due to an unexpected flight cancellation. The person at the front desk was very kind and helpful. He let me in even though the hotel doors were closed for security reasons. Most hotel rooms were reserved in the city because of an event, but luckily I found a room at Novotel and I was able to spend the night there after 3 hours of walking around the city trying to find a hotel room. They definitely saved the day for me.

Perfect location, city centre within walking distance. Rooms clean and big, breakfast extremely rich, offering a variety of food and drinks. We were extremely satisfied with service. Public parking available just around the corner of the hotel (3 min walk), we paid 16€ for almost 3 days of parking.
