For me it was like a nightmare. Although the kitchen and toilet were clean, the bathroom was dirty which was obvious it hasn’t been cleaned for a while and the mattress was a disaster. It was torn and literally dirty. I asked them to change my room but they said all rooms are occupied and they will change the mattress, again they told me they just have a single size mattress… In the end, they charged me full price (50 euros) for that nightmare.

The location is excellent, close to the main attractions. It took us not even half an hour to walk to the city centre. Customer service was very helpful and friendly. We checked in before noon; it wasn't a problem. For the price we paid, we didn't exactly expect it to be perfect. We also paid extra (not much) to upgrade our double room to a studio with a kitchenette. The building definitely needs some renovation. There was mould everywhere; you could actually smell it, even on pillows! They could use some deep cleaning as well. If we had stayed longer, we would probably get sick.

Nice place to stay. You get one room in a 3bhk apartment with common kitchen and bathroom. The receptionist is very joyful filled with energy and humor ready to entertain you after a tiresome journey.

Breakfast was very generous, decent spreads, cold cuts, bakery goods, fresh fruit etc...Transport and logistic wise pretty good again, if you like a young , vibrant healthy atmosphere, with lots of internatonals this could be strongly recommendable. Bath and toilet not the best in the world, hence the four stars, but then again good value for your money

Very friendly man at Reception. Studio room with kitchen as expected, clean, slightly worn looking but no problem. Unfortunately, the room is right below either a flat or another hotel room whose occupants are very noisy. They also stomp when walking. Pretty annoying. Street is pretty quiet. Plenty of electric outlets, lights, small TV, kettle, fridge, coffee maker, cooker, cutlery, dishes, mugs, and glasses. Good price for 2 nights. Extremely easy tram ride from Wien Hauptbahnhof (Follow the signs at the Hauptbahnhof for Sudtiroler Platz/S Bahn #18). Get off at Mariahilfer Gurtel stop. Cross the road to your right, walk straight down and you'll see Kurzgasse street. Wien Westbahnof is even closer. You can walk to Happy Hostel from there.

I booked a quadrouple room with private bathroom but ended up receiving an apartment which did not even belong to Happy Hostel (Guesthouse Arabella), this i found out during the checkin process. The apartment we got was extremly dirty (everything was sticky, the sheets were unchanged, the towels were used and stained). When we went back to the Happy Hostel reception, the response we got was -We are not responsible for that apartment. We did however get in touch with the owner of Arabella Guesthouse ( who talked rude to me and wasnt helpful at al) and we managed to get the sheets changed and some basic cleaning was done the following day. However, I ended up having to stay 5 nights in a place i didnt even choose to, without internet or cable tv. Basically, I did not receive what I paid for! The reception guy from Happy Hostel was also not helpful, he wasnt able to give us basic information about parking and so on. When I called the reception, the night of the arrival, regarding the extreme dirt problem, he was “nice enough” to just hang up the phone. Also, at the end of our horrific stay, I received an invoice from Happy Hostel, even though we did not even end up staying there!!Extremly dissapointed and I wouldnt recommend this place!!!

Great location, located between Schonbrunn Palace and the city centre. The road is nice and quiet, but shops and restaurants are still close by. Amazing room: comfy bed, lots of space for belongings on the tables, and a couch!

Generally it's good. Good location, close to the subway station, it has a kitchen. The room was a little old fashioned. Bedding was a little smelly. The reception guy was very nice and helpful and let us leave our suitcases there after the check out ;)

For us, everything was clean, everyone was friendly and we had a nice stay. The people are nice and they have dogs!! There is also a washing machine and dryer which guests can use for 4 euro, and a kitchen we shared with only one other room. Towels, bedding and shower gel were provided also

Very impolite people. I have problems with the border control traveling for 24 hours and tried explaining this to them via a message and phone call. When I called on the phone, a rude man answered me speaking German only and refusing to speak in English and then he just hang up the phone. I never received a response from them as well via the booking messaging system. They cancelled my reservation and charged me 40 euros despite my several attempts trying to explain them the miserable situation I was experiencing. All they just cared was taking the money from my account with zero tolerance or response!!

We stayed in one of the apartments which was funny equipped. Perfect for several days, very convenient location walking distance to West train station. The owner was really friendly and helpful. A storage is available for luggage if you arrive before check-in time

Happy Hostel is quiet, simple, welcoming, at the reception you are always greeted with kindness and sympathy. It is very close to stop 5 of the Big Bus tour, it is located in an area outside the center and away from the chaos of the nightlife but perfectly connected to everything, to the shopping streets, restaurants and the museum area, for those who are not afraid of walk in 15 minutes you reach the center. Spartan decor, no particular design, maybe a creative vintage boho restyling could improve it. Anyway highly recommended!

We stayed for two nights in a double bed room with shared toilet and bathroom. (You need to share the toilet and bathroom with two other room.) We really liked the place. It was clean and there was a shared kitchen too. It is close to the Westbahnhof and it on the MariaHilfer strabe.

Do not stay here! I suspect some human trafficking is going on in his location. Dirty and need some deep cleaning.

5 min walk to Subway station and move all around the city. Looks like a family run business. Extremely clean, well served, kind and polite staff. Very well adjusted quality to price, for a city like this. You may like to have your ensuite bathroom and shower, and not share it with other room guests. I didn't care. Free fast and easygoing internet too.

A very nice friendly family hostel minutes away from Westbahnhof railway and metro station. The room I was given was spacious and clean, it had TV, free Wi-Fi and a fully equipped kitchen! A good value for money!

Stayed there for several weeks and enjoyed my stay. The rooms are cozy and provide you with anything you need. The personell is very friendly, accomodating and solicitous. The prices are fair and reasonable. The only point of critisism is the wifi connection which has a bad reception at some times.

An amazing place to stay for the price. It also had a kitchen with microwave, coffee maker. A huge closet was also present to store our stuff. Close to the metro station Westbanhof.

You can pay with credit card and the hosts speak decent English. The rooms are fairly spartan: mainly beds, chairs, and a table. Some of the rooms have a shared kitchen with a fridge. There's no view to speak of from the rooms. The location is good though, and is very close to both metro stations and the Westbahnhof.
