Amazing place, something you need to visit. It is very entertaining for kids, but for adults too. So much animals. On top is amazing Cafe with nice view. Perfect place to drink coffee and enjoy in view. Tickets is about 20e, not so expensive for such zoo. Definitely new favorite place to drink coffee.

Great for kids, but also nice for « old kids » 😂 but better doing in families/groups. It is 11 floors of discovery and fun ! Really worth it to go all the way up and enjoy the 360° view. There is a space with many birds and bats flying around, so avoid only this one if you are really scared of birds in general. Stairs and lifts. Students price only at weekends.

Fine place with a lot of interesting exhibitions and animals, we spent almost 3 hours there. There is a fast line if you have online tickets. Parking house is 5 min away, about 4 eur/hour

The place is better than the zoo. There are rooms where the animals can move freely around you. Definitely recommend. Also, no one checked our tickets when we came in from the cafe because we were there first.

The idea of turning the tall concrete flak tower built during World War II into an aquarium is amazing! The feeling of being there is very special. Although it is an aquarium, it does not only have fish. Also, the tenth floor, which recreates a flak tower control vault, houses WWII exhibits. And the panoramic view from the roof deck is stunning. You should go!

This was a very interesting aquarium, mainly because it wasn't only an aquarium. We loved the "jungle/forest" walk through areas with monkeys and birds--they were an awesome surprise. Those areas were also immaculately clean and all the animals looked healthy and well cared for. Despite our delight with all the other animals, the layout of the aquarium itself was super confusing. There were two staircases on opposite sides of each level, with people moving in all directions, so it made it hard to figure out whether we had seen everything on a given level without wandering around in circles a bit. There were some nice educational pieces throughout and I guess the highlight was the large tank with the small sharks. We also liked the touch tank at the end, which was happily located next to a bathroom for easy hand washing afterwards. We visited on a Friday at 11:30a and it was quite crowded. We didn't get to spend as much time just taking in the animals as we would have if there had been fewer people. Also, the open air areas with monkeys, etc had employees monitoring them, but none of the aquarium levels had employees present and there were several times kids were banging on the tanks and screaming, despite there being signs everywhere to respect the animals' quiet. We stayed for 2 hours, which was more than enough. The gift shop had lots of cute (albeit overpriced) stuffed animals for sale.

We are visiting this aquarium for the second time. We first visited it in 2017 and we came back this year to show it to our second kid as well. It is a great experience for kids and parents. Offers huge variety of species and a lot of information to read about them. The exhibitions go up to the 10th floor and the top offers incredible views of Vienna and a great restaurant. Better purchase your ticket online. The lines are always huge and especially on weekends it will take you a lot of time to get into the building and then to get a ticket.

It is very nice if you have kids so they see the sea life! It is good that you should know before going that there are a lot of stairs and when you want to take the elevator it might take few minutes. Keep going up until you find the breathtaking rooftop view and you can shill in a nice cafe looking to the horizon

One of the best places in Vienna Austria to look for exotic animals and birds. Some people may say the tickets are a bit too high, but I would say please look at this way these exotic animals need special care and attention. There needs to be a good Veterinary Doctor on site round the clock to ensure the animals are always in the best of health for us. It's also important to note that the costs of running the water filtration plants don't come free. So in good faith I personally feel that one should not complain about the costs of the entry tickets but rather look at the hard work and the efforts being put in but this institution being put in so that we and our children can see nature in its full splendor in the City of Vienna.

There are many different species of animals, such as fish, crocodiles, turtles, reptiles - the biggest anaconda I've ever seen. But what I haven't seen anywhere else in the Sea world were the cutie mini monkeys, we even saw the newborned one relaxing on his mummy back. On the top floor there is a bar with a restaurant and a terrace from which you can see the whole Vienna and take some nice pictures . Beautiful view! You can get upstairs gradually by stairs or you can use the elevator.

Nice location to enjoy with kids. Online bought tickets are valid after 1h period slot, so I advise to buy online and skip the line. Corona registration for guests is mandatory, it can be done online. You have to show proof of vaccination/proof of previous disease/recent test for peoe over 6 years. There is a free nearby test center should you require testing, you cannot miss it. Admission is rather expensive, as a sole adult I wouldn't have entered, because attraction is meant for kids; but to explain it to kids it is definitely worth it. Spent there solid 4 hours and could have been longer in case of rainy day. As a non German speaker I can say that staff was friendly and supportive with English. There were some of the details provided mainly in German, but one could live without them. Tour normally starts at ground floor and you go up. If you arrive in the morning, I would advise to take the elevator up to 10th level and continue down with the tour to separate from the crowd.

This may very well be the best aquarium I’ve ever been to. The floor plan itself is such a cool concept. Our son loved it here and was very intrigued by all the animals. There is a very large variety of different animals so there’s never a dull moment in this aquarium.

This place is amazing! It has the best underwater experience I have ever seen! It's massive and definitely worth the money! The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly! Especially Dominik who took the time to talk about the sharks and tell us about them and gave us so much information about differentiating between males and females and babies and adults! The place deserves much more than the marketing it has at the moment! I was so happy with my experience there! It takes a while to finish the whole place but definitely worth it! It's also expanding and adding new things to see. I enjoyed everything there and was so happy they I got to see so many things for the first time!

One of the must-have experiences in Vienna. 1. Give Atleast 4 hour on this. 2. Go before 2-3pm otherwise you might miss monkeys as they go to sleep early. 3. Rooftop has the Best view in Vienna and worth spending some time. 4. If it's sunny, go 4 hrs before sunset to end with perfect evening on top

Nice for families with children. A lots of interesting animals, very nicely arranged aquarium and tanks with variety of species. Love it. Still, it was a bit too crowded for the Corona time. Nevertheless, all measures were considered and flowlessly followed (masks and 2gplus rule).

Really an amazing and impressive place with more than 10 floors of different animals. The aquariums are really impressive and the idea to build this zoo in a building is really a genius idea. I would recommend it to any age!

This is a very nice place. Lots it beautiful animals to see and very well presented. I went on a Saturday and it wasn't crowded. You can even touch some fish. There is some info in English beside each animal but would be nice to have more in English. Also sometimes it's a bit confusing which direction one should take in order to be able to see all presented animals. On top there is a nice view of Vienna. I would highly recommend visiting this place to anyone but especially people with kids. Also ticket price of 21e for an adult is reasonable for such an experience.

Superb aquarium and very different to other aquariums around the world, as this aquarium is more than just fish. Furthermore the Roof top views are spectacular … top tip try to be on the roof for sunset !! A great way to spend a couple of hours especially with teenagers … lots to see on every floor ! Note there are lots of stairs so a great workout also to burn off the calories from the Vienna cakes 🍰

And bonus of this place is a breathtaking view to Vienna. Really beautiful. There is also a restaurant on the roof of this building but mostly visitors drink there not eat. Not cheap place

Absolutely fantastic. You pay 21 euros full adult price to see plenty of kinds of aquatic animals but also tropical ones and many different bugs. Then you go to the top floor and there is a mini museum about the military past of the tower which used to be an anti-aircraft tower during WW2.There are precious historical artifacts. And when you finally finished the exhibitions you can rest at the top floor where there is a cafe/ restaurant bar. I highly recommend it if you visit Vienna for a few days

If you are with kids in Vienna (I'm sure they like underwater life), don't miss up this place. Our kids loved it.(12y old and 4y old) It is a 9 floors building full of aquariums. What's really cool is that you are allowed to touch fish in some aquariums. You will find here: sharks, octopus, starfish, turtles, crabs, snakes, crocodiles, iguanas, monkeys, some birds, seahorses and more... At the top level is a terrace for a snack and outside the building is a children park, good for a break.

(Translated by Google) Very very very cool! There are so many animals! But there is a problem. The sharks and the sea turtle are very poor because they actually travel several thousand kilometers in one year in nature but are in an aquarium.😟 Especially the baby shark is very poor in an aquarium! He can only swim in a circle! ☹️ That's why there are only two stars but still a very cool attraction! (Original) Sehr sehr sehr cool!

A great experience. There is also a separate exhibition about plastic waste in seas. You see a lot of different animals and get useful information. Floor for floor you dive into another world of the sea, but also some animals living on land. Highlight is definitely the shark aquarium(s) ... Also the location is easy to reach and the building has a history ... check it out

A truly astonishing aquarium, probably the best I've seen so far. Some facts & impressions: - It's likely the only establishment of its kind located in a former Word War 2 anti-aircraft flak tower/bunker - It's not only that the range of creatures exhibited is so wide, but also the experience was for me insanely immersive (there are even fish tanks where you can submerge your hands to pet the fish). - The super-sized shark tank was very neat to see. - From the rooftop you also get a great 360 degrees view of Vienna. - It has a cafe, a restaurant and plenty of restrooms. It's quite pricy, but it's worth every penny.

We were there on Wednesday in the beginning of November. When we came there, at first it wasn't crowded (around 10 am), but since it was a rainy day we could saw from inside the building, that outside was long line of people, waiting to get in. In my opinion it was well worth the money we spent on tickets. Children loved it, we loved it.

It was cool like how it had been converted into this aquarium from an old flak tower. Nice range of fish, monkeys, birds and other small insects and reptiles. Lovely view of the city from the top. Only down sides were it was quite crowded due to children on school trips meant lots of shouting. Also at the top if you want to sit you have to enter the restaurant. Overall would visit again just at time when less school trips were happening maybe earlier in the morning would of been better time as we visited around 11 till 1pm.

A unique experience. We arrived in bad weather and waited more than half an hour to get in. Employees distributed umbrellas to those who needed them. It was worth the wait. Nicely designed, I recommend taking the elevator up to the top floor and looking around from the top. A big complaint is the suffocating air. The ventilation is very poor. And no matter how bad the weather is outside, you'll need to remove thicker clothing inside the facility. And take a bottle of water with you. An unmissable place when visiting Vienna

Unique and interesting aquarium! Definitely worth a visit. Lots of interesting sea creatures and other animals to see. We took our 2 year old son who is obsessed with sea creatures and he loved it! We had a wonderful experience. We went on a Sunday morning and waited in line before it was open. We took the elevator and went to the 10th floor and just worked our way down. It got more and more crowded as we reached the lower floors. I would not take a stroller inside unless absolutely necessary. You would have to use the lift to get down every floor which can be difficult and time consuming. We left around 11:30 and there was a long queue to enter so I recommend buying tickets in advance. I will definitely visit again but try to go on a weekday. I would also like to visit the rooftop restaurant next time.

Absolutely amazing aquarium. Though do keep in mind the line is extremely long. I'd recommend getting tickets online so you can get in faster. Lots of exhibits from around the world and from different ecosystems. It was pretty packed when I went, so I had a hard time seeing some of the animals, but overall, it was nice. It's kind of hard to tell which direction you should be going and be ready to climb lots of stairs if you aren't elderly, or with a child since I feel like it's looked down on if you take the elevator. Reasonable prices in the little store wish I had gotten some of the items in there.

Every floor provides a certain type of view, of course when you reach 11th floor it has a very gorgeous view over Viena and it is definitely worth the visit. I recommend to try it, pictures are allowed, it is a big crowd but it is breathable.

Absolutely bizarre experience. The animals and insects were so random, and it made it so much fun to explore! The monkeys were FREE RANGE in their exhibit- which was exciting. They have a huge rock wall on the outside of the building, a 360 view cafe on top, and endless creatures to explore. I can’t wait to come back. I’d recommend getting the annual pass if you see yourself going more than twice, as it’s the price of just two visits.

This is a must visit when in Vienna! Did not have high expectations for this place but I was in for a surprise. Go to the 11th floor with the elevator and move your way down while being amazed of this place. Besides fish and sharks there are also other animals. There is an area where you can walk with monkeys running around you! Grab a selfie with one, they are so used to people and do not mind a camera! And the outdoors view from the roof is to die for! Best view I have seen in Vienna.

Great place with lots of fish and animals. You can feed some of them for extra money. Very relaxing. Advising to start from level 10 and go down and then take the lift to level 11 and enjoy the amazing view on the city. The restaurant there is too expensive and the hot chocolate we ordered was not quite good. The entrance price is aprx.22 euros , children under 3 are free. I think the price is a bit high for this experience though. But you can buy an annual ticket if you like this place and the price is very reasonable for it.

Very interesting, lots of variety, options for food on two different floors. The marine displays are great, but there is also a tropical forest area with monkeys and birds, and a reptile area. Great for families of all ages! There's even a small museum about the original use of the building as a flack tower, plus lockers for coats and such, and a nice gift shop. Some areas are still under construction, so it will be even better soon!

The place is amazing. I loved the tropical area the most as those little monkeys were running around me and also the birds in there were just amazing. Even "Zazu" was there ? yeah the one from the Lion King. The sharks were amazing. The snakes were awesome. Overall a great experience. Definitely take with you so they can see nature in a safe environment.

Thousands of animals on 11 floors! There are huge fish-tanks with sharks (just small ones), sea turtles, corals, and a lot of gorgeous fish. Also, you can see crocodiles, venomous snakes, constrictors and saurians in terrariums. As a surprise there is a tropical house with birds and monkeys freely moving around. Finally, you can enjoy a coffee at the top of the building.

This is a very nice, and very tall!, zoo. Mostly fish and such. I particularly liked some sections, where you can walk and there is no division between you and the animals, so that birds, little monkeys and bats can come really close to you! Nothing to be afraid of. The view on top of the building is spectacular. I would recommend having a drink somewhere else though, since the service up there is not worth your money!

Wonderful and modern aqua-terra zoo with big aquarium and heartbreaking view from the restaurant Ocean Sky 360 on the top of the tower.

I generally liked this place, offers many species of marine (and not only) animals to see and my shark- loving son was very happy. I only wish there were some kind of platforms for kids to climb and see the tanks, as most adults had to lift the little ones all the time. Also, one elevator for 10-12 floors seems not to be enough, so I'd suggest to leave baby pushchairs downstairs and carry one's babies instead of having to wait long for the elevator (10 times). Great views of the Vienna City on the top floors are a great bonus.

We've been to many aquariums around Europe and this is one of the most pleasant surprises! At first we thought "An old WWII tower, how much ocean can it host?" and my oh my, not only it has a rich display of sea creatures but also beyond that to fresh water, tropical animals as well as a beautiful view point to central Vienna on its rooftop terrace. The zoo is very entertaining and interactive. The tropical garden has an open air layout so you can almost walk next to the animals. We took the elavator to the roof and walk down from there.

We visit here with our grandchild. She likes. We think that it is expensive what you see and get. It is not so big and you spend there one or one and half our. It should be nice if there is animals what children can touch.

The bad: very crouded so find a day or time when there are less people. We came in the last day of summer vacation and the line at the entrance was infinite and inside was very noisy and hot. Also a lot of stairs to climb or you can wait for the elevator for a while. Other than that awesome place with many animals to see (not only water animals).

  • 3/5 Ekkehard C. D. 2 years ago on Google
It's a really nice zoo. Lots of cool things to see. But the pricing really bugs me. Student prices are not available on the weekend and the normal tickets are really expensive for what you can see. Also. The lockers don't return the money you put in to lock your stuff. For a ticket that expensive also charging for the lockers just seems so greedy. In total i really like it. But the pricing practices are a real downer for me. Get in when you can get a discount.

  • 5/5 Dillbert O. 2 years ago on Google
Lots of cool and cute animals across 9 floors. There are great info panels in German and English. To my surprise, there was also a big tropical house with monkeys, birds and bats right beside you! There are also two places where you can pet fishes of varying sizes. Overall a great experience, we spent about 4 hours there.

Lack of visiting routes, i felt lost inside and missed to see many fish. Nice view from last floor but it can be accessed without tickets, it has a separate elevator. Too expensive for what it offers

Liked it very much. The whole experience takes about 3 hours if you want to make it justice. It's worth it to walk all the way up as the view of Vienna from the top is excellent. The ZOO contains a lot of species of fish - we specially enjoyed the sharks and the ants tunnels.

  • 5/5 Chris F. 2 years ago on Google
Simply amazing. We left with lots of brilliant pictures. There were so many amazing and varied animals. The only downside was the amount of stair climbing but what else could be expected in a flak tower of all things. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and a nice way to end our last morning in Vienna.

  • 5/5 Zeno M. 2 years ago on Google
A former flak tower turned into a perfect tourist attraction. Very interesting, lots of wildlife, a perfect rainy or, why not, sunny day excursion. Wonderful panoramical sight at the top floor. I'll simply add some pictures, cause they speak more than words. Go see it and thank me later.

This place is huge, absolutely amazing, and worth a million visits. We learned during our visit that before the Esterhazypark became what it is today it was a defense tower many years ago. We were able to experience the birds openly without them being caged, and it was a beautiful, and serene experience. There is so much to see, and we can't wait to visit again.

This place is Amazing. Not only is the building an old WW2 bunker. They have manage to make it into the best aquarium i ever been to. Is an experience and at the end all the way on top they have a very nice high restaurant. If you are an adult that still enjoys the aquarium or you have children this is a most see when visiting vienna the best City in Europe.

Went there early Sunday and it was almost empty so we could have better experience. After an hour it started to become crowded. We liked the variety, the cleanliness and would highly recommend it. When we were exiting we saw a queue of people trying to enter, without buying tickets in advance. Buying tickets online at least an hour before going there is your best bet to enter without waiting.

Unusual, unique and well kept aquarium in the centre of Vienna in a refurbished bomb tower with wonderful signs of Vienna, good food and drinks, and a whole array of fish, reptiles, monkeys and more to view. Simply amazing. Does get busy though, especially if the weather is not so good, so it's worth buying tickets in advance online.

  • 5/5 AGJ 7 months ago on Google
A nice place to have a good time with the family. In summer I recommend you to buy your tickets online and arrive 5 minutes before your desired time otherwise you will no be aloud to get in. The line to purchase the tickets use to be long and below the plain sun, is not enjoyable, specially with kids. The food inside is ok but not the more healthy option= fast food. There is a main lift wich use to be crowded, then be prepared to wait or to use the stairs. The panoramic view of the city is really nice.

  • 4/5 G. H. 8 months ago on Google
Lovely place, I suggest to arrive early because it gets pretty crowded. There are lovely green areas and Fish Tanks, The only thing I can complain about is that there are some animals that have just little space, for example, the boas are huge and the space they are in is very small. Other than that is a good place to spend some time specially if you have children.

  • 5/5 Pavel B. 7 months ago on Google
It is very nice place to visit with a family. It is 11 floors of interesting fish and other animals to see, for example lizards, birds, monkeys and others. We visited the place on weekday around 11:00 am and there was no queue what so ever. So we just went in and bought tickets, probably we were just lucky because on the website they recommend you to buy tickets in advance for specific time. Once inside we took the lift to the top where you can enjoy the panoramic view of Vienna and there is also a restaurant at the top floor. From there we just used stairs going down floor by floor and enjoying the variety of animals they have. You can also experience Garra rufa manicure in one of the fish tanks. The building itself has also interesting history from the second world war. Although this tourist attraction is NOT included in Vienna pass I definitely recommend a visit.

  • 5/5 Katka B. 7 months ago on Google
Amazing place for water world lovers. There is more than 'only' fish, you can visit also various parts of world and see Austrália, parrots and in jungle monkeys. On the top is terrace with stunning views and restaurant

  • 3/5 Amelia M. 5 months ago on Google
There on a Monday, line was very long and place was very crowded. We had online tickets so got in first. The exhibits are all great and fun for kids. NOT stroller friendly, I’m glad we didn’t have the baby with us. The 5 year old loved it. The restaurant at the top had wonderful food. The fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate. It was a false alarm. But no staff around to tell us what to do, or what was going on. We evacuated from the second to top floor and didn’t see a staff member until we got to the bottom. By 10:30 am it was so crowded you could barely move. It was very warm and smelled with so many people. I would go again but the crowds were very annoying.

  • 5/5 Joanna U. 5 months ago on Google
Excellent place! Great place for the whole family, but quite busy. Better to book tickets online and start your journey from the top floor and go downstairs.

  • 5/5 Milos N. 5 months ago on Google
Very interesting aquarium, terrarium and zoo. Located in a tall building, there are 11 floors to visit, so be prepare to walk the stairs until you drop. Totally worth the price of admission, and you get the workout for free.

  • 4/5 Szabolcs S. 3 months ago on Google New
It's a unique environment, history lovers will be pleased seeing the second world war exhibition. Animals are also quite interesting, the fish-pet aquarium on the ground level was one favorite stop of my children. Hammerhead sharks are also bring the wow experience, but the plastic tunnel is not as great as in Tropicarium in Budapest. Totally worth it, but consider to arrive by public transportation. There is no parking place at the building except the streets around which cost a lot. If you buy your tickets online then entering will be much faster.

The aquarium, with a jungle at its center, is truly fascinating. The top floor offers a stunning view. Despite the overall enjoyable experience, the provided directions were unclear and confusing.
