I was having a city trip in Vienna for just one day, and I figured that a hop on / hop off tour with the bus might be the best option to see the most of the city. I was not disappointed. The tour offers so many great opportunities to explore Vienna and take pictures. I personally started from the city center, taking a trip around town with the red line, then switching to green to get all the way up to the Kahlenberg for some very impressive panoramic views. Unfortunately the green line that goes up to the top of the hill only has a bus coming about every 45 minutes... so better not miss it. All in all that was 28€ spent on the opportunity to explore Vienna for 24 hours as much as I like with the transportation that’s provided - and it’s frankly really extensive. I can very much recommend this to anyone who has just a limited amount of time to do sightseeing in Vienna. For that, this tour is likely the best way to go.

We had Scottish visitors over a long weekend in May and wanted to squeeze in as much of Vienna as possible, without any of the responsibility of having to come up with interesting tidbits about the city ourselves, so we ended up deciding on a tour (the panorama tour). The tour starts in the city centre near the opera house, and weaves its way through the inner districts to Grinzing and Kahlenberg. The bus stops there for a break (there’s a café and smaller shops for drinks/snacks/souvenirs, a small but very pretty church, and a brilliant view of Vienna from above!) and then makes its way back to Vienna via Klosterneuburg, past the Danube Island and UNO City to the Danube Tower. Up on the Danube Tower you get a closer look at Vienna from above, the Old Danube, Danube Island and the surrounding area, and of course the tower itself is impressive as well. The lift has a glass ceiling! Thankfully it doesn’t have a glass floor. The tour then takes you back to the opera house. We liked this tour because it takes you to all the places that are annoying to get to on public transport (Kahlenberg, Klosterneuburg, Danube Tower – without a car you wouldn’t be able to do all those in a single day), but you still get to see a lot of the sights the city centre and inner districts have to offer. The aircon on the bus was a welcome break from the heat, too. Our tour guide Karl-Heinz and the bus driver really didn’t have circumstances on their side (a lot of construction going on in the city centre currently so some roads were closed to traffic), but they just adapted the route slightly and Karl-Heinz smoothly managed to segue from one story about one building into the next just as we were passing that location. Our tour group consisted of Viennese, Scottish and Indian people and he threw in some bits that were relevant to each of our home countries as well. Our guests and my family enjoyed the tour a lot, and even (or maybe especially) as someone from Vienna, I was just well and truly impressed. Would recommend!

Had the boat trip on the lake which was wonderful but no time for cable car on the mountain. Worth the long trip. The trip to Salzburg was good but disappointing when it comes to places related to the film The Sound of Music. We were only shown Mirabell platz and the tour guide (I think Davide was his name) stated that Austrians hate the film for its inaccuracy. Ok his opinion, fine but if he has a problem showing us places he does not like, he can change his job. He is very well versed in English and history but was toooo fast. Older people could not catch up with him at times. Salzburg is a wonderful place and should be admired for its history not just the film but if film locations are advertised, they should be included specifically not just one. Otherwise wonderful.

Die Route ist auch nicht besonders schön, man sieht nur wenige Sehenswürdigkeiten vom Bus aus. Letztendlich sind wir die rote Linie einmal rum gefahren und das wars. May it be alone may it be with friends or maybe meeting new friends? That is the place. It is also a Cultural hub in Vienna with many cultural events involving, music, dance, theater, also for kids and family programs... I did not give 5 start only because of the prices over there, which tend to be higher than the average. But definitely worth a visit!

Great way to explorer Vienna when you have just 3 days. We took ticket for 36 euro for all bus lines for 72 hours. Very frequent bus service. Buses are clean and comfortable, drivers and other staff are polire and very helpful. There some air conditioned buses on green rout.

Very unreliable bus schedule. I booked a 6 day pass for my week in Vienna. And literally every bus came at minimum 20 minutes late. (Which is crazy considering it's supposed to come every 30 mins...) We tried to "beat the system" by showing up 10 or even 15 mins early.. and would still end up waiting 40 mins. There seems to be no logic or predictability to the constantly late busses.. which ultimately caused us to waste a tonne of valuable vacation time. Toward the end of our trip, we were calling ubers everywhere instead.

I cannot recommend this agency. We booked a tour of the vienna state opera but missed the tour because the discription of the meeting point was misleading. it referred to the fountain next to the opera without mentioning that there are two fountains on opposite sides of the building. There are even entrances on both side of the buliding next to the fountains that bear signs „meeting point of guided tour“. After notifying of this issue still a refund was denied and also no alternative tour time was offered. Our tour was supposed to start at 3:15 pm and their offices closes at 3 pm already. During online booking you have to give your telephone number but they don’t use it to call you in such situations - it seems to be only to exploit customer data a bit more. Not at all customer friendly. Will never book again at this agency.

Buses and drivers were good. Kept pretty much to the scheduled times. Audio was a little hard to hear sometimes.

The bus was pretty full even during November, so many people didn’t have a seat and had to stand for most of the trip. Finding a seat upstairs so that we could actually see anything was really hard too. You might as well buy the day ticket for the public transport and travel around on your own.

This entire set up was confusing and the buses don't run very late, so you either have to A. Plan your trip accordingly and go early, or B. HOWEVER, because we redeemed the voucher for an actual ticket to be able to get on the bus, the company wouldn't refund us our money.

We booked the bus to hear about that sights from the tour and half of the languages did not function, so my partner whose only languages are Spanish and English couldn't understand anything. Extremely disappointing "Day Trip to Salzburg". We were aware of the duration of the tour and the time to spend on the bus. What we did not expect was an absolute lack of historical or cultural content during the trip. The mentions about the film "The Sound of Music" were continuous, it was not necessary that half of the comments were based on the film, we did not book a film tour. The stop in Salzburg is reduced exclusively to 3 hours and the walking tour there was poor and did't provide any interesting information. Paying EUR 129 per person for such a poor tour has been a robbery.

We had the 6day pass and we did visit a lot of tourist attractions. Also a lot we would normally don't do. But before you buy think about the visits you like to do and how they add up in price. We didn't get much above the costs of the pass. Hop on hop off bus was great but doesn't go often so easily to miss and have taken the metro instead of waiting another hour (or 2 because they took a break at lunch time when we where there.)

Did their guided tour in Feb to Wachau. Which said about wine tasting. But nothing of that was done. But a museum visit was there in the guided tour in Mahl for 1 hr. Also, lunch was provided but did not clear say about drinks while was later billed by the restaurant. This should have been clearly said that drinks are not included. My suggestion, avoid if you are expecting wine testing… if itinerary did mention it but nothing like that happens.

We spent 30 minutes at the stop waiting for a bus - and then found a sign tied behind, where nobody could see it, announcing that. We had to take a taxi to get out of there. We caught another bus just before 5pm. We were about to complete our full ride after a tiring day, as we were unceremoniously kicked out by your sales clerk because a night time service began - when we had only two stops until our hotel. The clerk raised his voice at us (three women, including an elderly one) and told us it was “our fault” that we lost 3 hours of our day on your service. It’s not clear how it was our fault, but he continued to yell at us in front of other people and we left - my mother does not need this kind of humiliation and treatment. She is 75. Subjecting her to public humiliation is not our idea of fun.

Albin was absolutely fantastic during our trip to the beautiful City of Vienna. We wanted to go to the Cafe Landtmann, Albin kindly dropped us off and gave us clear instructions as where and what time he would be to return us the River Cruise. He was very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly.

A trip not to be missed. The tour guide was fantastic, the town of Durnstein was very relaxing, the ride on the river Danube, the abbey of Melk, the food at the Melk tavern - all were amazing. Highly recommend it.
