Big bus was fun. It takes you to top city site seeing locations for 37€ for one say not including any other museums entry tickets. It’s good to know the city and plan your visits. But honestly you can’t enter museums as the time will not be enough if you have the one day ticket . You can get the tickets online for discounted prices. I believe the best is one day ticket where you can exchange between different bus lines to be familiar with the city

Very bad experience with this big bus tour company Driver can't speak English, most stops no agent to answer. We are supposed to take boat cruise from pier 8 at stop no. 11 We are standing from 3.15 till 4.15 for 4 pm cruise in heavy rain but no cruise & no agent on stop 10 and 11 which is very close by to help us. No one was there & no information that boat was canceled. Long wait for buses if you get down any point & no arrow signs for bus stop any where. Avoid this company . They don't accept digital copies & paper copies so long easy to loose/carry Cruise boat running timing are so less 2 in whole day which hardly you can take. They should have more boats running on different timings, If you have any questions or problem big bus office is opposite red line 1st stop on 2nd floor. Which they don't mention in their flyers also no phone numbers to call. If you're in Vienna all points are near by & public transportation was very good. Big Bus tours full waste of our valuable money & time.

Lovely experience. The big-bus told us everything about Vienna. It was so informative and interesting to listen. The routes are so enjoyable we got to see all the historical attractions

On of the best ways to see Vienna. The two routes cover all if the sites. I would recommend adding the river tour as part of the package.

Was good two day experience (we travelled as family of four). Two routes seems to cover a good portion of Vienna, however competition covers 6 routes (with 50 stops) so don't know which one is best, our experience was great and we enjoyed it thoroughly. We got a 2 day pass and were given 1 extra day and night tour included, we didn't use either, but who doesn't loves free stuff. Bus timings were good and they all came at thier scheduled time, sometimes even earlier. Very friendly and supportive staff. Highly recommended !

    Great monumental, worth seeing

Recommend this option of transportation while in Vienna. They have a Red and Blue line, with Red covering more of the historical monument sights. Touring this cities is a multi day event. Unfortunately I've only had a couple days and haven't even scratched the surface, so many things to see for likes and interests

The highlight was the the guided walk which was amazing! Charles's knowledge of the city was incredible and he conveyed the information at the right pace in an interesting way. He also gave us recommendations for coffee houses and restaurants, all of which were excellent. We purchased the 3 day pass and really enjoyed the whole experience. We didn't manage the evening tour but heard it was also very good. The river was a bit windy and cold so we didn't bother with the river cruise but it would be lovely in the Summer. The bus stop near the aquarium is not easy to find, be warned!

It was 40 Celsius or 90 plus degrees too hot for a tour with no A/C. Maybe great if colder. We were miserable for over an hour before getting off and walking in sun that was cooler. #sweathogs

Worth doing, especially if you're short of time or energy when exploring the city. Staff were helpful and the guide was reasonably in depth and easy to keep up with. Not the cheapest option but what is in Vienna?

Big Bus Tours Vienna drops you off close to where you need to be, unlike the one in Rome where you have to walk significantly to their bus stops. If you have issues with mobility, this is a much friendlier ride. It’s such a convenient ride to all the Christmas markets, too! Thanks!

The tour was detailed and covered all the major attractions with a brief 2-3 line history. The tour guide was very kind and professional. Special shoutout to Sasha; our tour guide who did the entire tour in 2 languages just to accommodate us. Highly recommended!

My experience with Big Bus was amazing. Michael helped me out with just the right information. I wanted a walking tour and he introduced me to another great guy- Zigi . He was very knowledgeable and the tour was insightful. Recommended Big Bus very much

The tour operators were easy to spot & were always very friendly & helpful. & the app was great to have as well. It had live locations of the buses, & of course all the bus stops, routes & tourist attractions in your city of choice.

I was initially not planning to buy a big bus ticket but the girl who was selling/ introducing these services on 17th of July next to Opera house did some good marketing and it was well worth. Due to how well she explained I purchased a ticket for the next day. It was definitely worth it and would recommend this to anyone who is planning to stay in Vienna and do sightseeing.

I took bus and cruise tickets The bus ride was great and crew was friendly But the cruise was worst experience The cruise was delayed more The 20 min And the staff was rude In cruise the lady who's serve the table she was friendly with everyone except me and took all people order except me and some tables three times and when I try to read the menu on the board she says set in your place and I will come to you. That was before 15 min of the arrival and the trip duration was 2 hours.

(Translated by Google) Booking was very easy over the internet. Costs 27 euros instead of 30 euros directly on the bus. The online ticket is enough (QR code) and you get the ticket on the bus. The app is not essential, but nice. There are fresh headphones on the bus and there are books to listen to in the front seat. One can follow the stories in about 14 different languages. The buses also came on time and were not overcrowded. The driver also drove calmly and sensibly.

we had taken 1 day pass for entire family and did not regret for a single minute. it was a great decision. it usually covers entire city, inside and outskirt as well. we went first outskirt and then started inside city so can drop till last bus. it was super fun. The live commentary was awesome and with very precise information. even most interesting is that commentary is available in many languages. I was surprised when i hear in Hindi Language. All staff are very courteous and helpful. most of them were speaking english and knowledgeable. Certainly recommended to every tourist.

Very limited commentary, you pass so many beautiful buildings and are told nothing about them. Very disappointing compared to the same company in London or Dublin where there's live commentary and lots of fun. Feel like I'm left with more questions than answers. Staff are very friendly and professional though!

(Translated by Google) As a big bus fan all over the world, I was totally disappointed with the process in Vienna ... buses in good condition and the drivers were very friendly ... But in such a city with 1 hour waiting times for the next bus are completely beyond reality. The Red Route alone has 14 stops, how do you want to do that ... We know that from other cities ... In a 15 to 20 minute rhythm everything would be fine in one day. Then you'd better get a day ticket for the public in Vienna for 8 euros and explore it on your own.

Now big bus feels so familiar and comfortable. I used them in 5 euro cities this august. This would be my best way to know the city. And then I will start walking around the city. All the staff is friendly, buses are clean. Audio is very informative. Love big bus tours!!

The route is nice, takes you to most popular attractions. But there is one thing I didn’t like. I bought a 24 hours ticket, I started the tour around 11 am. I thought I can used the ticket until the next day 11 am. but I was not allowed to get on the bus after 5:30pm. How can you call it “24 hours” tickets then? I do not recommend it.

There was a protest which delayed departure and then we were stuck in traffic due to opening the roads again but that’s what actually made the trip more worth it as otherwise it would have been really short for the amount of money paid. It was also not clear where to get on for this night bus. There was a knowledgeable guide and that was much appreciated as I was told it would be a recorded voice tour. I’d try the blue or red line instead of the night one.

Great tour and very friendly staff. Regular, clean and comfortable buses. Informative audio description and available in many languages. I stupidly left my phone on a bus but the HQ staff couldn't have been more helpful. I picked it up the following day. Would recommend their tours. Have used them before and will continue to.

Loved the concept of the bus.. 'the headset lady' was absolutely amazing, she had really interesting historical facts to tell and was funny.. Really good way to get about in Vienna and to visit the biggest tourist attractions. Overall experience was great however we had a BUT.. It was a bit surprising that at the age of technology it would be an issue but seems like it is.. bought 2 day pass on the bus. Day one they printed us a ticket and no one at any point mentioned that tickets should be kept save. Well we lost the ticket and were told that we can get a new ticket printed because it has already been redeemed.. So warning for all laminate you tickets and guard them with your life if you don't want to pay extra for the tickets that you already bought..

Always great and easy to book Big Bus tours. The journeys offered were really good in Vienna! We used them on 2nd and 3rd January. Unfortunately a few times they were too full and we couldn’t hop on and ended up walking from stop to stop until we got on one. More buses are definitely needed for busier periods.

No city break is complete without a bus tour. This was one of the best I've experienced. There were different routes you could take. The red one covers all the sites I was hoping to visit and then some. You can hop on and off at any point. An excellent way to feast your eyes at the same time rest your weary feet. Would recommend you try to get a front seat at the top for a perfect view. The only downside was the heat. Take a portable fan and plenty of cold water. Another bonus is the fact that you can use your ticket again within 24 hours. Some might use it as an alternative to buying an underground ticket if your destination is near one of the stops. Highly recommended even if you just have a few days in Vienna, this tour is one experience not to be missed.

Big Bus in other cities is usually quite good. In Vienna my experience was as follows: The first bus we got on couldn't scan our QR code and print a ticket. They let us on the bus anyway. When we got off we found a agent with a scanner that was able to print some tickets and then ran out of paper. So he couldn't print the ticket for our boat tour. He told us to walk to the boat and they could print it. We found a kiosk across from the boat tour but no employees were there. So we walked across the street and found the place were the boat was but no employees were there either. So we waited 20 minutes until the employees came out from the boat to start boarding the river tour. They told us they couldn't print a ticket so we couldn't board the boat until we went upstairs to an office to print it. So we lost our place in line and went to the office to print a ticket. We got to the office and they said they could not print a ticket that we had to go back across the street to the kiosk. At this point I'm yelling " that's were I started, nobody is there" the response was a shoulder shrug. Back across the street we went, still nobody. So we walked around looking for someone to help us. Finally a young lady walks up to the kiosk. It turns out the company has her walking back and forth between the kiosk and the bus stop on the other side of the bridge. She is finally able to scan our QR code and we find out that our package is the bus, a walking tour, and a night tour but no boat. Which we would have found out hours before if the bus driver had a working scanner or if the guy who scanned our ticket and gave us directions to a boat had told us that the package we bought didn't include the boat. We only had the one day to see Vienna so we decided the boat wasn't meant to be and got back on the bus.

Love the Big Bus App and the location of the stops. We truly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend the 48 hour pass if you have the time. There is so much to see and do in the beautiful city of Vienna.

The hop on hop off Bus tours are the way to go. You get on the bus and can stay on the whole time and or get off when you want. They provide headphones to listen to the information on the sites. I recommend this to anyone! We have done this in several cities; London, Paris, Budapest and Vienna.

  • 3/5 Amanda W. 5 months ago on Google
For the disabled lady in a wheelchair to have had fair access to the tour, rather than being told that there was no ramp available. The big bus girl said the ramps keep breaking and when I suggested they get a stronger one, she said, "No!" The tour itself was really good.

We bought a ticket for two days online. We went on the first bus and they gave us a piece of paper (apparently another ticket even though the online version says ticket as well) but weren’t told we needed it to hop on again. It just looked like a receipt. The next day, we weren’t able to get on a bus anymore, no chance. We payed a family ticket for nothing for 2 days. It ruined our day!

The audio commentary were not always in sync with what we were looking which made it very frustrating, this is something that can definitely be improved. Bus seats could be more comfortable. In winter many people were banging their heads on the second level since the roof was not open - a warning would be nice. The bus stop greeters were very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the walking tour segment with the local guide ‘Robert ‘ it was great but could have been longer or maybe an extended tour could be offered.

(Translated by Google) OK. Unfortunately, the route towards Schönbrunn was not thought through. You take the bus through a long side street. There is talk of the Naschmarkt, for example, but this is in the parallel street. You drive past some important things without being able to see them properly, but you drive through a street with relatively few sights. This route can definitely be improved (speak as Viennese). The second route towards the Danube is very well thought out and is definitely worth it! (Original) Ok.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately a bit disorganized at first. On the other hand, you don't see the company's employees immediately. When asked, we looked in vain for a "red waving flag" - there was none. The city tour was unfortunately in English as there is only one day (due to the corona pandemic) and we had foreign-speaking tour guests with us. As a result, I unfortunately could not understand everything. But I would like to praise our guide Charles: He has a lot of humor, was always friendly towards the participants and was concerned about our well-being. With his enormous wealth of knowledge, the tour even lasted just under two hours instead of 90 minutes. The two tours by bus are unfortunately tight at the moment (due to the corona pandemic). Hopp on-Hopp off was almost impossible. Just then we caught a quick look at Schönbrunn Palace before we took the last bus back to the opera. Tip: Currently at half past nine, take the first red route from Opera - drive through. Then half past eleven city tour. Then the blue tour with a break at Schönbrunn Palace is possible. We started the tour at half past eleven and then had a tight plan. Priced at around 34 € / person including city tour on foot, a bit expensive compared to other city trips. Or. if you can then hop back more, maybe it's okay too. (Original) Anfangs leider etwas unorganisiert. Corona-Pandemie). Hopp on- Hopp off wahr nahezu unmöglich.

The journey was pleasant, except for the fact that the fan in the bus was not working. This caused extreme discomfort, as the temperature outside was almost 32°C, and the windows weren't open either. Bus driver didn't help much either. Otherwise, the tour was good, and had commentary in multiple languages.

The big bus is seriously good, the red one - avoid the yellow one which is a different company. It takes you to all the great parts of the city and shows your all the culture you could ever want. Great stops at all the main attractions and really gives you a great sense of the whole of Vienna including the more modern financial district. They offered so many language options and head phones were complimentary so you could listen to all the facts. Normally I wouldn’t listen to these. But I am glad I did as it explained the whole history all the way from the beginning so it really gave you a better sense of what you were looking at. I would say the only thing is they should have better clearer plastic roof as ours was a little Yellow and you could not look up to get a clear view. We sat on the second level which was open apart from the roof and it was great and fresh. We only took the red and blue routes as we were on a time budget but it’s still took about 1.5hrs to do the tour but it was filled with things to see that it didn’t feel that long. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to see the whole city but not really wanting to do all the research for it themselves as you can hop on and off at multiple locations and it’s 15mins waiting between buses.

We have used big bus tours in several cities we have visited over the years and found them to be good value, clean, prompt and the staff always friendly. Vienna is no exception and we took a 24hr ticket for the 2 routes and split it over 2 days to visit all the biggest sights. We ran out of time in Vienna to try the night tour but will definitely do this next time

(Translated by Google) Due to bad weather I couldn't see much, having happened upstairs of the bus, covered by a sort of rain structure. Working earphones, normal price (€ 29) and punctuality.

(Translated by Google) Definitely not worth the money. I've already done a tour like this very often in other cities and I was thrilled ... I am more than disappointed with this tour, you are driven around within a radius of 3km ... I wouldn't Recommend, REINE RIPZOCKKE !!!!

(Translated by Google) The waiting times at the stops are far too long. Sometimes you wait 1 hour for the next bus. In addition, the bus waits 40 minutes at stop 1 before the next trip. Here in Vienna, both lines do it at the same time. The switch has to be well planned. Why you can buy a ticket online and still get a 1 meter paper ticket on site is also not well resolved. Big Bus in Vienna was the worst hop-on hop-off provider we had so far.

(Translated by Google) The times do not last and the information is very poor, when you give 90 euros for 2 people on a 3 day card, you also expect that everything is in order. I can not recommend Big Bus in Vienna.

(Translated by Google) Bad organization, the lines are two brawls and blue, we buy the ticket for 2 days by spending 37 euros each, Cara, but if you want to see Vienna without too many problems, it is ideal. Red line usable and with little waiting from one stop to another. The blue is a nightmare with waiting times up to 70 minutes and the application totally useless. In order not to waste more than an hour ... under the sun, I had to take the metro again and spend 2.70 per person. Inconceivable. I feel scammed.! Is this the vaunted Austrian organization? Inconcepibile. Mi sento truffata.! E' questa la decantata organizzazione austriaca?

(Translated by Google) Bought a ticket to be able to see the city safely, 2 days 37 euros each. First day red line no problem, the second day a nightmare, the blue line has waiting times of almost 70 (seventy) minutes and the app has to little (times change constantly) very bad organization. Then they make a thousand fuss if a dog climbs without muzzle but no one has masks and they do not enforce the distance. Perhaps they consider Covid to be less dangerous than a puppy. The beauty is that then they make us Italians moral.
