The coffee and sacher cake was fine, but we had unpleasant experience with the service. We waited for our cakes for quite a long time, so I politely asked the waitress if they remember about our order. The waitress seemed frustrated that we even asked. When he got to our table with cakes, he throwed tha plates. We said "thank you" and he ignored us. After eating I wanted to pay by card. The waitress asked if we can pay by cash. We said we want to pay by card again and he asked "you don't have cash at all?" With very bad tone. I think was very inappropriate. I think he was angry because we asked if he remembered our order. I worked in clients service as well. I understand that sometimes it's a bad day or you feel being rushed, but I was nice, polite and smiling. I don't feel like it was fair.

Terrible service, ordered twice but the coffee and strudel never arrived. We waited more than 30 minutes for the food to arrive but then it didn’t and had to leave the cafe frustrated. We ordered first at the counter and then after 20 minutes, the waitress came and asked what we wanted, and we ordered again. Waited another 15 minutes, but nothing arrived. The vibe of the cafe is also not super great. There’s nothing special there to return again

How wonderful! Lots of vegan options and the apfelstrudel and Sachertorte were great. We are travelling on a budget and this place serves great food and drinks for a very fair price. Oat milk available but also lots of vegan lunch or dinner options. The serves are just wonderful, the music is great and the atmosphere is so nice and beautiful. 10/10

I came here most mornings for a coffee before heading out to explore Vienna. Really nice staff, prices were reasonable, I didn't try any food here though. The cafe is quite quirky and old fashioned and there is an outdoor terrace which is really nice. They serve you coffee and a glass of water, which I think is normal for Vienna. I didnt take enough photos of this place as it was always early and I was still half asleep lol It reminded me of a coffee shop in Paris or Soho for its atmosphere :) I would definitely recommend this place over a Starbucks or chain coffee shop anyday!

We ordered the scrambled eggs, hot chocolate and chai latte. Everything was delicious and prices are good! The cafe has a relaxed vibe and you can go to work, read or just enjoy.

I loved the aura, old furniture, posters on the wall, intense coffee smell and the music. Service was very slow, although it was not too full, but the waiter was polite. It made a beautiful morning for me who looked for a fresh, deep beginning to explore magnificent Vienna.

It was a nice experience overall. Nice music, somewhat downbeat atmosphere and friendly service. Two things I want to mention specifically: it's possible to smoke inside (may be a pro or con for you) and it's *not* possible to pay by card (cash only).

cute vibe, weird beer (even kozel, the czech one, btw best beer ever), tasty hummus, falafel and toast, almost no one smoked, which was weird, they had antifasistic stickers on toilets :)

A lovely cozy cafe in a nicely located quiet street. Very tasty breakfast. Just note the service might be a bit slow, but still friendly:)

Super cozy and relaxed! I was visiting Wien for a long weekend and had to complete an assignment, so I chose this café to work. I love their service. They did not interrupt me once, which I appreciate so much. Went back in the evening for drinks 🍷 would definitely visit next time when I’m in Wien

Great place, loved the vibe. The food was delicious and the coffee had good quality. I drank a tasty dirty chai which is a rare found. If I were local then I would definitely come back and be a regular guest. The place was a little crowded but I would rather say it is cosy. Also love Kafka.

Stopped in at this attractive Cafe, while visiting Vienna with my wife. We only ordered coffee, (it is as good as can be had in Vienna.) But we really enjoyed the decor, the historic atmosphere and the friendly reception and service!

Nice place with nice stuff. Smoking is allowed inside. The coffe was one of the best in Wien. The doors of the restrooms are very funny (looks like a wardrobe's door :) )

We came here on Sunday to try some local desserts such as Strudel or Sahertort. instead we had cheesecake . It was good though. But not what we really wanted. A kind of awkward situation in the end concerning tipping … well, I don’t think I will be back in this place

Great atmosphere, cookies are very delicious. Pretty crowded but only one service person, who is by the way chatting with some friends at the counter... I'm aware that this could be the Wiener relaxed way, but the customers should be priority, I think. No card payment, only cash!

I had a melange coffee and warm Apfelstrudel, which were both great quality, but the waitress wasn't so skilled. She didn't even say hello and wanted to take our order without bringing us the menu first. I think it should be basic knowledge to bring the menu or at least ask if you need the menu.

Very cool chilled atmosphere, prices were also fair. The best thing was the real indoor fireplace!

Gorgeous outdoor patio, delicious coffee drinks, breakfasts, lemonades, and cakes! I cannot recommend this place enough! The menu is fully vegetarian but the omnivores in our group were just as happy as the vegetarians!

Ordered the mediterranean breakfast for 7.50, a beer for 3.50 and a fanta. The breakfast was super mid. But it was better than the poor waitresses maths skills. I reckon invest in a calculator... overcharged me nicely. Super hot tho keep doing ur best

Lovely cafe in a very good and quiet location. Apfelstrudel and coffee were amazing and the prices are really affordable! The service was very friendly and the atmosphere of the cafe is just great 🤩 Definitely will come back!

I hate to complain but the service was horrible. We waited for more than half an hour for our drinks and the waiter was extremely rude and didn’t even bother to do his job. He rather enjoyed a few beers and a cigarette. When we wanted to pay he made a very rude and inappropriate comment about us not understanding him behind the bar with loud music in the background. All in all a very bad experience wouldn’t recommend this cafe. Go to Daniel's the place next door instead.

This is a truly cozy place. A real time machine back to Vienna as it used to be in the early 90s or even late 80s. Indulge in this wonderful and friendly atmosphere with good music and mingle with the locals. And what a name this place has got!

(Translated by Google) In itself a very nice café with a charming flair, but we were a little disappointed with our order. You can also save half the portion of apple strudel with cheaply bought spray cream, all salads have been deleted and there is little choice on the menu. To offer even 3 pieces of cake in a café is also surprising.

Located under a language school, and has a really nice vibe. Good drinks. Only one table has a power socket. WiFi for some reason was surprisingly slow! I moved around to catch a better signal, but it was the same everywhere. (Speed test screenshot attached).

Nice atmosphere. The waiter was really humble and nice. And the most important thing is the food. The coffee was great, and I really enjoyed cake (Sacchertorte)!

  • 2/5 spicy o. 2 years ago on Google
I give two stars only because food was good. Service was absolutely ridiculous - three waiters cannot bring a simple order . The girl even went outside and had a cigarette . And we sat there and waited 15 mins for cake and latte. Same problem with wanting to pay - not having post terminal , only cash , and had to ask three times if we can pay, please. Never coming back .

The waiter did not even recognize us. After ordering by our selves on the bar he partly forgot what we ordered. Still a nice Sacher torte, nice ambience and a good coffee. I think loads of students there.

If you're looking for the traditional vienese Kaffeehaus vibe but want it a little more modern/alternative this is the place to be. Great staff and you can even play chess there.

It has its own character, which is not really saying much. But said an unknown wise man that beauty is in the mystery. If you can read a book undettered by noise and smoke, this is the place. This is the little place where Vienna comes alive.

Great coffee, made with care. Simple breakfast of egg and toast, attention to details such as warmed crusty roll, just enough jam for you to ask for more. We were looking for coffee first thing in the morning, so glad we found Cafe Kafka.
