Want to feel like a local? Want an excellent location to relax and people watch? This beautiful coffee house feels like you are stepping back in time. Period features, marble, decorative ceiling, suited waiters, it has it all. It also didn’t appear to be thronged with tourists. Fantastic location, relaxed atmosphere, great selection, well oiled service. 10/10 2 coffees = €10.80

Had a warm and lovely Apple strudel with hot chocolate. The strudel’s sweetness was just nice and the flavour is not too strong. The hot chocolate was decadent! Lovely ambience and music, the service was good too! Come during off peak hours as this place can get very crowded during lunch hours.

Cafe Schwarzenberg is a historic Vienna coffee house that opened in 1861. They have a charming interior, outdoor seating and offer a menu of traditional Viennese food, drinks and service. I made a quick stop here for a quick morning coffee recently, grosser brauner was really good. They use Julius Miendl espresso which is strong, bold and flavourful. Served with milk on the side, this was a great coffee. Overall, this was a good, brief coffee stop, one that I'd be glad to stop by and enjoy again during future visits to Vienna.

THE BEST WARM STRUDEL I HAVE EVER HAD. Yes it was so good I put the review in all caps. Look at the pictures. We were very happy with our deserts. Beautiful piano playing and a great old Vienna atmosphere. Definitely going back!

So happy we could have lunch and dessert here. Mr Roland our waiter took such good care of us making us feel welcome. Lunch was tasty and the apple strudel packed with apples and fullof flavour framed by a silky soft custard was just impeccable. I highly recommend this place for an authentic classic experience of Viennese coffee culture and quality desserts.

One of our family’s two favourite cafés in Vienna. The space is beautiful, service is good, and the food is great. Have the Milchrahmstrudel, it’s excellent, and the hot chocolate is lovely too.

Lovely little cafe/bistro in the heart of the city. The goulash was an absolute flavour bomb, could have slightly more cheese on the toastie in all honesty. Sauces are charged at an extra which I can never get over but it's not my business. Beer was nice and coffees came hot. Love the fact the waiters are all in proper suits.

The atmosphere was very mice with live jazz music 🫶🏻 staff very lovely helpful ans kind The food unfortunately wasn’t like expected, especially beef tartare at the beginning had absolutely no spices you can literally feel the test of bloody meet , had to change it to shrimps salad was much better . Enjoyed my dry red wine 🍷

Busy as always, queue is a normal picture outside the entrance of this famous and traditional cafe in Vienna. Fully recommend to visit, order any kind of coffee from the various options . Myself personal I ordered Greek coffee with loukoumi delight! Also I tried the noodle beef soup which was amazing considering the rainy and cold weather 🤓. Option are sausages and toasted sandwiches.. but the most amazing part of the cafe Schwarzenegger story is the Sasher and the Kaiserschmarrn mit Zwetschgenroester!! Traditional brown omelette

Great old Viennese coffee house in the city center. The waiters are very friendly, the food is great and the ambiance is perfect. Giving you that perfect traditional Viennese coffee house experience without all the tourists. If you’d like to read a book and experience a bit of piece and quiet in the city center Cafe Schwarzenberg is the place to go!

One of my favourite traditional cafes in Vienna. Usually quite popular and busy but always able to find a table. Love their garden in the summertime. Delicious food for reasonable 1st district prices and clean toilets. Waiters very pleasant and friendly.

Lots of locals, many cake options, and amazing ambience. Hot chocolate was really good, and Wiener Melange(their version of a cappuccino) was also delicious. The cake wasn’t incredible but that might’ve been just our choice.

One of the best cafés in Vienna. Delicious food and beverages, tasteful hot chocolate and the service is fast, kind and professional. The waiter who served us,Mario, was great and exceptional. If you visit Vienna, definitely go there for a coffee or desert

An institution in Vienna it's been around for a long time. Nostalgic decor. Good layout. Extensive menu. Friendly and prompt service. Food was tasty. Expect queues at peak times if you don't have a reservation.

Queued for around 15 minutes to get a seat. Service was quite slow, the waiters seemed to be rushed off their feet. Had the strudel and the kaiserschmarren, both were nice and the portions were generous. A nice enough experience but overall I preferred Cafe Central

Lovely cafe, open late which is very convenient if you get distracted walking around. We had a very early breakfast but the cafe quickly filled up with locals and tourists alike. We had a variety of food including sachertorte and cheesecake. We had the Viennese and Schwarzenberg breakfasts. We also had the natural yogurt and fresh orange juice. My only reason for the 4-stars was the coffee. We weren’t too fond of it. Had a pot of coffee and a double espresso. Despite the coffee we will definitely go back because everything else was thumbs up.

An old, well-known Vienna coffee house just has to come and visit. I highly recommend booking online ahead of time because it gets very busy. The food was good and I like to come back and try the chocolate cakes next time. It's worth noting that they have great selections of teas around the world.

I followed a friend's recommendation to visit this special place in Vienna. It is a place that will surround you in a classic and elegant atmosphere, I would say that it is a perfect place to get in touch with the Vianes style. As far as the food is concerned, I was quite satisfied, I was not impressed but there are definitely no complaints about its quality and good taste. The service has been average, the people were very friendly, but I had to call 3 different waiters to pay my bill, all of that took 16 minutes, which for me is a waste of time. However, I liked the experience and would gladly return again.

A lovely traditional Viennese experience. I enjoyed my Veal Schnitzel and my Apricot Palatshinken and drank wine as I watched the people pass by on a Saturday evening. Prices had increased since my last visit but that's life in a cafe that's been open since 1861. One of the cafes to try for an old fashioned meal. Delightful!

Fantastic place. Great Viennese cakes and the best coffee on town – except they close down before midnight… Which is a shame… This place, location and menu is a gem that should be available to mankind around the clock.

Cozy and Traditional. Feels a hark back to Imperial Vienna. Staff are really polite. The Apple Strudel is lovely(first time having it), the Cranberry Tea is perfect, and the Sisi Cake is amazing

Good food with reasonable prices. I’d you want a good seat then it’s best to make a reservation. The portions are very small so keep that in mind. The Apple strudel was amazing and highly recommend. Service was good as well.

A classic Viennese cafe house that has been around forever. It is a very elegant place with wait staff that continues with the old style traditions. The tortes are sublime, the coffee is perfect, and their food menu is classic Austrian dishes all made very well. If you sit outside, some tables even offer a view of the Karlskirche. Wonderful.

Very nice place, beautiful inside and the food was tasty, better than others we tried in Vienna. Service was good, quick and efficient, 100% recommend! I forgot to take a picture of the main dishes, only took the desserts. I would go back again!

First of all, the service was first class! We didn't receive an advance, so we need to wait 10 min in the line to get in. I believe the line in summary is much longer. The food was good , and prices were adequate. The waiter was very polite and brought some gifts for the kids. The desert was delicious 😋 . Suggest to reserve an advance, a speshaly in cold weather.

Everything about this place was 5 star! Loved the food and service was amazing. Café is set in a central part with trams and old world architecture. Felt very European! I had the grilled shrimp salad, with Turkish coffee and apple strudel. Would come back in a heartbeat 💯

This is an old Viennese institution. Yes some of it may be outdated but the history, the service and ambience are a slice of Vienna we should all experience. Our waiter Herr Dragan was very friendly and helpful. Lovely.

Traditional coffee house with a beautiful interior. I took a Viennese breakfast (coffee, bread rolls, egg), reasonably priced. The service is typical Viennese: no smile but efficient, the waiters rule the house not the customers.

Cute historic cafe. Food and coffee are pretty good. Staff is very nice. My husband had the goulash and the Viennese style coffee with ice cream in it. I had the spinach strudel. He enjoyed his slightly more than I did, but we both enjoyed it

A cozy, traditional cafe with nice Wiener Melange, fruit tea and kaiserschmarrn. It was full with guests when we arrived, and the waiters were so busy that no one came and greeted us. We waited for a while before being seated. Reservations highly recommended.

One of the older cafes in Vienna, came here with friends for a coffee and cake. There is plenty of variety to choose from in terms of cake and also an extensive coffee and food menu. I enjoyed the Viennese iced coffee and kardinalschnitte. It was light and fluffy. Perfect. My friend got the schichttorte which he said was one of the best he had in Venice. Coffee was perfect and came out promptly. Service was average. We had to ask 3 waiters before we finally got the check at the end but overall the cafe is a great place to chill and take it easy. They also have a proper food menu as well for breakfast

A really pleasant experience where we were able to stop away from the crowd of cafes in the tourist center. I highly recommend hot chocolate and warm strudel, both were the best we could eat / drink in Vienna, especially the strudel which is worth a visit with its whipped cream and custard. A real delight and most hearty. A very good value for money. The service is quite random depending on who you served. Note, one of the only "known" cafes that serves their drink in porcelain!

This is your place for people-watching and enjoying the rich coffe-house traditions of Vienna - after all, this is what you came for, right? So, dress up a little bit to come here (not too much... but avoid flipflops). Feel like a king/ queen: the waiters will engulf you in their polite charm and make your stay into something special. No matter what you order (and yes, it is pricey) - just enjoy sitting in a ballroom-like place, with mirrors up all the walls, the intimate booths all around you filled with quiet conversation sounds, fascinating people of all kinds, ages, languages, modes and moods. It is at least as memorable as a movie night - possibly even less expensive. Try it!

Great service, lovely waiters. We had breakfast here every morning while in Vienna and really liked the place. Good cappuccino and great breakfast a la carte. I recommend the different styles of eggs Benedict.

Me and my company dropped by to have a Wiener Melange. Coffee was good! Was very surprised and pleased with a talented live pianist and later on one of the service staff joined in with great vocals! Despite this, we never really felt welcomed. Sometimes you get treated as the tourist you are, no matter the effort of trying to speak german. Maybe my impression would be better (or worse...) with a few more visits. Not sure.

Old Viennese coffee house with a very nice ambience. It’s always quite full whenever you come, but the tables turn quickly too so the waiting time isn’t too long even without reservation. Really recommend hot chocolate in old Viennese style (with vanilla & cinnamon), it tastes so good!!!!! Literally the best hot chocolate I’ve ever tried in my life.

The place was a beacon of light in our cold and rainy evening out on the ringstrasse. We walked in wet and hungry, but were soon comforted by a heartwarming schnitzel and a glass of Grüner Veltliner. We loved the ambiance, and our waiter was very friendly, even though I’m sure my terrible German made his ears bleed. The price/quality ratio is very reasonable, and overall we had a wonderful time! I will make sure to come back the next time I’m in Vienna!

great caffe shop, Unesco protected location, centrally on Vienner Ring. quality serving, well trained staff, classic for Vienna. must go! if you go outside the rush hours, you can easier find a table without reservation

Nicely located Kaffeehaus with the best espresso I've had so far in Vienna. This was a relaxing, quiet and elegant place to hang with an extensive menu and beautiful surrounds. Can certainly recommend. Their coffee is also certified fair trade.
