Absolutely adorable cafe tucked just off of a heavily touristed pedestrian street. It is far less crowded than anything on Kärntnerstraße and the food is wonderful. I had the schokocino and a sweet potato waffle with mashed avocado, real bacon (iykyk), and a fried egg. There were no newspapers, German language or otherwise, when we visited. I mention this because the availability of daily newspapers is a known fixture of old/traditional Viennese cafes. Here you’ll find the ‘smallest’ serves of coffee in Vienna. For the district, it’s okay price-wise but the cost of coffee is steep for what you get in terms of quality and quantity. Breakfast is just okay, nothing to write home about. Service is slow, and slower. Tip: ask for ‘ein portion cafe’ or a pot of coffee if you want to hang out for more than a couple of minutes or you will certainly need to order again and it will cost €€.
